481  Other / Off-topic / Re: Examining the Concept of Social Media and Currency: Is it Necesarry? on: April 22, 2024, 11:44:28 PM
bitcoin allows communication, in a variety of ways. The software itself can let you talk to others, and it's not just the bitcoin signed messaging. Is bitcoin itself a social network?

Even if it is, no one will actually recognize bitcoin as a social network because it’s not the main purpose of it. Or at least many believe to be so.

Since it is not greatly used by people as a social platform then not a lot of people consider it as such. It is used by many as a way to hold or store money and even make transactions with it. It just so happens that is incredibly valuable that it makes people profit just from holding it. Which is why it’s not prominently known as a social network.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving Making Me Wonder on: April 22, 2024, 11:25:43 PM
And I began to wonder is this what the Bitcoin Halving is all about???

Of course not it is simply one of the many consequences brought by the halving event itself.

The reward for mining blocks have reduced down to half. This is to control the supply entering the market at a time. It is good to fight inflation and it drives up demand even more. The halving event’s impact can not only be seen in one day or one week. It stretches out for months even years so anything you see right now as a consequence isn’t the end of it all.

Some of them even bitcoin’s price is temporary.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are more people getting excited about memecoins? on: April 22, 2024, 11:13:56 PM
Most of the time and season, lots of new meme coins always get created, and only a few end up pumping and making a few people rich. Do you think that everyone will not be rich if they actually know the meme coin that will pump so badly? That's the reason why it's necessary to apply precaution while investing in meme coins or every other alt coin.

That is true. If someone was not ready to take the risk then maybe he or she is not ready for huge responsibilities so it is better to stay away from memecoins if you feel like it is too risky.

For me though I believe that taking risks can pay off in the future and people who invest in memecoins are one of those. It’s either they are brave or stupid and nothing really in between so make sure that when taking risks you have done your research.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: Food shortages coming to the United Kingdom, BUT - on: April 22, 2024, 10:47:29 PM
This sort of situation is inflationary, and if inflation doesn't go down, then something will need to break for it to be forced to go down. That indicates a recession, OR if there's too much money in circulation it's going to be worse. Stagflation.

Correct me if I am wrong since I am not from the UK but it seems to me that agriculture is not the very best of business in the country which says a lot because farming is incredibly important and essential for providing food. If farming is not maximized, inflation could be higher.

If UK is like this I can not imagine what other countries of a poorer economic state are experiencing. We really need to do something even as individuals to ensure our safety and survival in today’s world.
485  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: April 22, 2024, 10:30:33 PM
None of us want to think about our investments or our financial assets while lying in a hospital bed. Rather, we will be concerned about my well-being, the future of the family, and their position in my absence.

To be fair anyone would be thinking what it would be like for their family if they weren’t there especially if you were the breadwinner of the family.

I actually know this man who even after his death remained to sustain his family through his assets and other properties. He made sure that everyone got a share and equally at that too. It made me think how he must have all planned for it carefully and how he have made the right investment decisions. In a death bed, I’d rather be at peace knowing I have done what I should have and I would be leaving my family well taken care of.
486  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know what DRN is? on: April 22, 2024, 09:24:38 PM
The supply and demand of DRN changes with the number of active users, and we will closely monitor the game economy to keep DRN in a healthy balance. DRN can be listed on centralized and decentralized exchanges and freely traded among players.

It’s very interesting that the supply also changes I am betting it depends on the demand, no? With a fluctuating and ever-changing supply, it’s quite shocking to see just how much price increases there have been.

I am just not sure if it can actually stay for longer but since seeing that it’s a gamefi then we could knock ourselves out.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the best asset for investment currently? on: April 22, 2024, 02:44:07 PM
The gold investors and fans would argue about it having limited resources or supply too. But no one knows what measurement and what exactly is the limit of it.

I believe gold’s value has a lot to do with how it is extracted and not really with how many there is left. Like you said no one knows the exact amount of gold left to mine but we all know that it’s not an easy task to mine some.

It’s expensive and quite rare but we don’t know how rare.
488  Economy / Economics / Re: It's better to invest now than to regret it in a hospital bed. on: April 21, 2024, 05:24:25 PM
There are some things the importance of which we cannot understand until the time comes. Maybe we don't care about those things because we don't need them now, but when we need them, we will regret these things, but regretting them at that time will not help. Now maybe we have the strength of the body and the ability to work so now we can manage all the things but the strength of the body is not there for the whole life of the people or their workplace will not be there for the whole life. Since these are not permanent, we have to plan for the future in advance. Those who invested in Bitcoin exactly 10 years ago planning their future may have gotten a lot better from their investment today. But those who didn't plan their future at that time and invest in Bitcoin even when there was an opportunity are probably regretting it now. Like those who didn't invest 10 years ago and now regret it, we need to plan our investments now so that we don't regret it at some point in our age.
Congratulations to those who have already planned to invest and those who have Bitcoin investments and hope you will hold your investment for long time but to those who are still planning to invest I would advise you to invest in Bitcoin even if you think about your future. If we can invest now thinking about the future then this investment will be very useful for us at a stage in the future which we may not be able to imagine now.
As you grow  older you will realize you should have listened  to your family because they are right so it’s really better to start investing now and stop being stubborn and hot-headed.

Plan for every situation that may come your way as much as possible. We are building something for the history books right now. Smile!!
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Young people are less likely to accept traditional employments in this era! on: April 21, 2024, 05:20:58 PM
The ways of earning and living for young people have changed drastically since we moved from the agriculture(field) era to the technological( Internet money) era. Many young people are willing to sit at home waiting for a freelance job rather than going out to work for someone and getting paid little shillings.

obviously it’s because sitting in your house is much more convenient and comfortable way to earn money rather than going out in the sun and getting your hands dirty.

Don’t get me wrong sometimes I think it’s also important to exert physical effort but the more you realize how hard it actually is, you might just quit right here and there.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will Happen to crypto market after Bitcoin halving?? on: April 21, 2024, 05:10:27 PM
I am expecting a dump at $70k to $72k soon which will cause massive confusion in the market for the newbies, from my point of view alot of newbies will make great Mistake by buying at the wrong time,

It’s mostly going to be the general public who were somehow made aware of bitcoin and cryptocurrency and then mistaking it for a get-rich quick scheme or a passive income of some sort.

Well we can not blame them especially if it is us who are going to be taking advantage of their reactions and decisions
491  Economy / Economics / Re: Insurance is important on: April 21, 2024, 09:39:08 AM
Poverty have been a major cause of lack of insurance in most underdeveloped countries because not every one can afford the cost of insurance and not every one that have properties worth insuring.

Unfortunately I do not even think some of them know how to insure their properties or assets. I have seen many of those in poverty to get easily fooled by corporate people trying to use too flashy words on them.

Banks or those who give insurances are very strict and require a specific amount of profit or savings to be given an insurance and it is only hurting the poor more and doing nothing to help them.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Here is why people make money from Airdrops on: April 21, 2024, 09:20:05 AM
For me, doing an airdrop is just a waste of time. At the beginning of my crypto journey, I did some airdrops and got useless tokens. So I have gotten nothing from Airdrop; hence, I hate it. So for a long time I have been away from the airdrop system, so I still believe Aidrop is nothing except wasting time. I heard some people make money from airdrops in real life. I never asked where they made it since it was not interesting to me. However, even if you are involved with Airdrop, just make sure you aren't going to waste your time.

I think for those who can not afford to buy too many coins, airdrops is the best next thing they can do just so they can still get some profits.

Some people somehow get lucky and the airdrop they received with not much thought gained some value. They need to make sure that they handle its volatility well because the highs won’t last long.

It’s a very one in a million kind of thing but it might be worth it
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is DaddyDoge (DD) Worth Investing In? Let's Debate its Potential to Reach $1.00 on: April 21, 2024, 04:31:34 AM
One question that keeps lingering in my mind is: Can DaddyDoge realistically reach $1.00 given its total supply of 10,000,000,000 tokens?

Maybe it can but it will be incredibly difficult to do so.

Since it has a lot of supply, the project needs to drive up the demand so high in order for one coin to be priced at 1 usd. It will still depend on many things like how will the community react and interact with this coin. But now seeing how the community is with memecoins, I am going to put down the dream of having this coin reach 1 usd for now.

494  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin halving is hours ago. Will you hold your BTC to April 2028? on: April 21, 2024, 01:07:23 AM
Will you hold your bitcoins to 2028?

Definitely!

People are speculating that by 2028 bitcoin might be priced at 200k usd or maybe even more. How crazy is that? And how crazy would it be if I keep holding my coins right now until it reaches that price.

It will be hard for sure and I will be extremely tempted but we need to be patient.

Good things come to those who are patient and trust the process. So yes I will still be holding my bitcoins up until the year 208.
495  Other / Off-topic / Re: Can you be bold enough To introduce your gambling Mate To your spouse on: April 21, 2024, 12:52:30 AM
‘can you be bold enough to introduce your gambling mate to your wife’.

Why are you so scared of letting your wife know that you gamble?  Wink

In my opinion I think it is better to have everything out in the open and let each other be the judge of whether that is good or not. I believe once you start avoiding conflict, your relationship is done. Instead of avoiding fights, learn how to manage them and deal with it.

If there’s nothing to hide then why don’t you just say it to your wife? I think she’ll be more relieved to know someone you spend a lot of time with (assuming he spends a lot of time in gambling).
496  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Bitcoin’s bull run coming to an end? on: April 21, 2024, 12:35:11 AM
OP I don't think you understand what bull run means because basically we just entered the halving event and a slight dip is expected before the pumping (bull) will begin so if you think you can't afford to buy Bitcoin now then you may actually not be able to buy again till after the bull run so since the bull run is not yet come, it is an opportunity to still buy at any price except you are aiming a short term profit.

Well halving is done now and it’s starting to dip a little but not too much that people who are waiting for cheap prices are able to accumulate already. The pre-halving pump seems to have passed already when it has reached up to 70k usd as from what I remember.

Now we will definitely see bitcoin pulling back a bit before it goes up and the bull run starts
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PoW and PoS on: April 20, 2024, 10:39:50 PM
Do you have more reason against / pro PoW / PoS?

Bitcoin being the most successful cryptocurrency ever and having PoW mechanism says a lot of things. It is a great invention and an even better investment. Everyone knows it for its top-tier decentralization giving access and control to absolutely no one

Although PoW is a good thing overall we can not deny how PoW is just consuming too much energy hence why PoS has emerged. Even with lower consumption of energy, I still think PoW is a better one though it needs some improvement of course
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rethinking Memecoins: A Potential Gateway for New Investors? on: April 20, 2024, 10:22:53 PM
For now, I actually still believe that being in memecoin cannot be fully called an investor because even though in this case investment can be based on short or long term but for memecoin it is much shorter than that so I think it is not worthy of being called an investor but it is still suitable to be said as a person who makes momentum where they manage to get in and out quickly.

I actually agree if we were to look at the definition of an investment.

Investment is the accumulation of an asset that could provide you with money or profit. Since memecoins aren’t really good for long term holding can we consider it to be an asset? If it will just lose value in a short amount of time?
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investing into pepe coin at this time a wise decision? on: April 20, 2024, 09:27:10 PM
If Bitcoin rises up to $100k and above, how will it affect pepe coin?

Nothing much will happen.

I don’t even know if it will reach a new ath again with what I can see but let us say it does, I don’t think bitcoin reaching 100k usd will be the cause of it. Bitcoin will pull more possible investors yes but it cannot magically make a coin recover and make it reach a new ath. For now though maybe it can be taken advantage of.
500  Economy / Economics / Re: USD prices speculation on: April 20, 2024, 03:16:43 PM
I don't understand why the USD can rise so high.
There are many factors that affect the strength of the US dollar.

One of them is what you already have mentioned. When another nation goes under crisis, they will try to look for other ways to save their money or multiply it even under crisis. Typically they will buy assets that are sold in US dollar hence why its value goes up.
Quote
Does this also affect the decline in the crypto market?
Fiat specifically the US dollar are kind of the opposite of one another.

If the US dollar is so strong and it is what is used to buy crypto, then not many people might be so inclined to buy crypto with USD.
