481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So the first blockchain game is now live on Ethereum. Wow. on: November 29, 2017, 07:14:21 AM
So the first blockchain game is here and it's called cryptokitties (https://cryptokitties.co)

It's really quite fun to collect and breed kittens and profitable too! You can breed kitties then sell them on the kitty marketplace. I've bought some 4 kittens with 0.04 and now i have 0.08 and have 12 kittens already breeding. Just waiting for them to be born. Lol
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Simple Miner - The miner software on: November 29, 2017, 06:29:41 AM
Yeah a bunch of newbie accounts shilling a miner which is closed source, claims to be a team but with all those brains together can't even compose a coherent descriptions of a simple software, using benchmarks from GPUs that are YEARS old? So many red flags with this that I would worry to even click on any of those links.

Why not start with a video of how your miner works?
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH chances on: November 28, 2017, 03:22:58 PM
Hi

ETH has already the largest market cap. But when will they really lift off.
The smart contracts are still not working.

I am pretty sure as soon they launch the first smart contracts ETH will rise like BTC at the moment.

What do you think

Huh? The smart contracts are not working? What do you call the thousands of ICOs that have launched using Ethereum's ERC20 tokens? Smart contracts have already been used extensively. There is even a game now being built on these smart contracts. Go checkout crypto kitties. Lol.

Ethereum will have its time. Just be patient and buy/hodl.
484  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO Battle on: November 28, 2017, 05:16:42 AM
So many ICO's come at this moment, new project coming just for collecting the funds from investors
and i like to say , this is ICO BATTLE ?

My questions is

1) what kind of project will be the winner?
- wich mean will reach the Hardcap in their crowdsale period

2) Do you really like to invest in ICO or be a man who waiting the coins or tokens listed in exchange ?

Best regards
republicrypto

The most potential projects are those that have a good combination of 1) a solid and credible team, 2) a innovative and working product that has actual real world use, and lastly 3) a massive marketing campaign that can reach the masses. Once an ICO passes these 3 criteria of i mean, i am always most likely inclined to invest even if it means waiting for tokens to be listed on an exchange.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have 12 Bitcoin. What should I do??? on: November 28, 2017, 01:01:24 AM
Great story, given its true. Very precise entry and exit points into those investments. Its as if you knew what was going to happen.
I'm a bit sad you dropped out of school tho. Hopefully, it was not just to chase this cryptolife. But in any case, it was a big risk that paid off. Good job.

May I ask how much you started with?
486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crash after 10K usd? on: November 27, 2017, 10:08:16 AM
The crash/dip already started. From $9700 to $9300 in a few minutes. But don't expect it to go down much further. Buy now while its cheaper because bitcoin is seemingly unstoppable as of late and you might miss out if you keep thinking twice. You will win long-term no matter what happens anyway. Good luck to you sir!
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Large Investment into Ethereum? on: November 27, 2017, 08:40:48 AM
I'm very new to AltCoins and all of it in general, this is my first post too!

I have started to invest into some AltCoins, but! I am looking to invest a large amount into a coin and Ethereum is looking promising, do you guys think that it is a good investment?

And is the price too high atm? ($483.36) or shall I wait for it to drop? do you guys think it will drop?

 Huh Huh Huh Tongue

If you have the time for a long-term investment, then GO invest. By all means Ethereum is a solid project with a great team and real world use. There is a reason why it is ranked the #2 largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, it is the future. Speculators often predict that one day Ethereum will surpass bitcoin's value because it's technology is far more advanced.
488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Attention All ERC-20 Project Teams. Consider Airdrops Compromised. on: November 27, 2017, 07:27:41 AM
This has always been a problem. Not only for airdrops but even for signature campaigns. People will try to make money and that is all part of it. You did the right thing by digging deeper and checking accounts. However, I don't understand why you generalized this for all ERC20 tokens? Some have been distributed fairly and are successful today.

Some airdrops never even go ahead, I think it is often just a database gathering exercise to be used for other ICO down the line

Quoted post above is a potential use of airdrops too.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which better altcoin i pick up to trade? on: November 27, 2017, 05:39:49 AM
If you want an altcoin to trade, I suggest you pick a high volume coin like Ethereum. This will suit your needs especially since you mentioned you wanted to do short term trading. ETH's price easily fluctuate and with the right timing you should be more than able to make a decent profit. It is even better now because it is in an uptrend. Good luck!
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next generation Bitcoin replacement on: November 27, 2017, 04:40:14 AM
Ethereum is on the way to doing all this. Just checkout their discussion and roadmap on their website ethereum.org or even the ethereum sub reddit. I do believe there are lots of other innovative coins out there that already do the things you mentioned. Supporting them would help make your dreams come true.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin is about to break through 10k usd on: November 27, 2017, 01:42:29 AM
Bitcoin is about to break through 10k usd. What will be after the breakthrough? I predict, of course, the rise of altcoin.

Depends on how soon is soon for you.

I agree that bitcoin will break through $10k usd but i don't think it will be anytime soon. It just went from $8000 to $9500 in one day. I doubt that much price movement will not have profit takers who will already sell. $10k by christmas or end of the year for sure, but maybe not in the coming week.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC = world media daily now. Go all-in for BTC on: November 26, 2017, 05:18:10 PM
Just hit $9300. Damn. I guess bitcoin really is going global. I can't even imagine what else can stop it now. Banks have said its a bubble. Governments have tried to regulate it. But damn here we are today. Going strong. Congrats to all bitcoin hodlers!
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Electroneum on: November 26, 2017, 01:38:53 PM
The team should sell the COINS and the Electroneum. The team made the money and the price of the coin became very low, which hurt the interests of the investors. Therefore, I felt that the team was a liar.

Absolutely agree. Electroneum's ICO was a "scam" in a very unliteral sense. Technically, they didn't do anything bad, but in reality they screwed over lots of ICO investors and stole their money by indirectly launching the coin when only THEY had access. This allowed them to conveniently sell their share of coins while the price was high. Now when their shitcoin is almost worth nothing, they will give it the ICO investors.

Inconsiderate theives. They can't play dumb to that. They screwed ICO investors. Their shitcoin will never rise above original launch values.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What other apps can be use to track token price, growth and etc. on: November 26, 2017, 11:13:08 AM
Been thinking for a while cause I only have 1 app that I use to track updates about altcoins and prices can you recommend other applications?

The only app you really need to keep track of you portfolios price and any other coins you want to keep an eye on is blockfolio.  It ticks all the boxes and i think its even got a news section so you can see all the latest posts from cointelegraph and coindesk. Do you need more than that??

+1 for blockfolio. I use both the app and the web version and i am a happy camper. However, if you are looking for something else, i also suggest using altcoinpocket. The user interface is really simple and it supports not only the popular coins but even small and minor erc20 tokens as well.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What does it mean when a coin's circulating supply is close to its max supply? on: November 26, 2017, 09:22:35 AM
I'd say a coin nearing max supply means that it is a mature coin and therefore will probably have an increase in it's value. Take for example bitcoin, once it reach 20M i'm sure there are alot of people who would be afraid to miss out and suddenly buy every bitcoin they can.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Traders on: November 26, 2017, 02:28:44 AM
I've been visiting exchangers daily to see what is the good spot to exchange my tokens, and there are a lot of people who are pissing me off.

People who tends to sell off their tokens cheaper than usual, I mean why do you need to sell your tokens cheaper? If you can sell them more higher? The result is other people follow these price and other people will sell it more cheaper.

I think they are thinking that it is the same as the markets of good where in they sell it fast if the price is cheap. They are not thinking that in trading, it will affect the market and instead of pumping the price up, we are starting to bring it down.

Same principle applies to traditional stock trading, there will always be people who will sell. There are lots of reasons people do this and you can't blame them because you never know. One person might need to pay for medical bills, so he will sell. Another person might want to buy a gift for a friend, so he will sell. Etc., etc.. If you are new to trading i suggest you start small and try building your portfolio slowly.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone mining Sia with gtx 730 4gb? on: November 26, 2017, 12:19:44 AM
Even if you could get it for free, still stay away from them. Why? Because they will consume more costs in power consumption than the amount of income they will generating from mining siacoin. Siacoin is a mature coins with ASICs mining them. Your 10MH on sia will be like dust in the wind.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ethereum pumping on: November 25, 2017, 11:57:46 PM
Ethereum is the sleeping giant. It's long been neglected with the rise to fame of bitcoin but now attention is shifting back to it.
It's technology is far beyond bitcoin, bitcoin cash, or most of the other altcoins out there right now so I won't be surprised if it reaches more than $1000 real soon. You can quote me on that.
499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: job and trading together.. on: November 25, 2017, 04:19:58 PM
To find a good coin you need to do research. Just google online, search the forums, and even look at third party crypto news websites like coindesk.

By being aware of whats happening you can ride the waves of pumps and dumps. All you need to do is to be able to devote a few minutes of your time reading and learning about coins. It will be much easier to do it simultaneously with your job if you are in the IT or software development industry. I wish you nothing but the best.
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: This work or not work??? on: November 24, 2017, 03:05:42 PM
That is called a PCIE extender. Although i don't personally own one, i've seen it work on different rigs owned by my friends and acquaintances in our local crypto market. As for stability, that is another thing. Never been around one long enough to see if it will actually cause more of a headache than actually do stable mining. If you can get it cheap, i'd say go for it.
