481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here's what the Mt. Gox Press Release will say and why on: February 19, 2014, 08:07:58 PM
So will gox die soon?

I believe they will.
It will be best for the entire BTC community to get them out of the game as soon as possible.
482  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I buy? on: February 19, 2014, 06:56:42 PM
Thanks for info! The one thing I cant stand though is the fact that I have to buy BTC first to get LTC, is anyone working on USD - LTC?

Err..most exchanges, such as kraken.com, offer you the option to buy USD/LTC directly.
483  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Bitmessage - P2P Messaging system based partially on Bitcoin on: February 19, 2014, 06:04:33 PM
I've just discovered Bitmessage recently and I am quite enthusiastic about it.
How come almost nobody is using it? Is the learning curve to steep?
484  Economy / Economics / Re: What should I buy? on: February 19, 2014, 05:55:05 PM
I'd say buy some BTC but wait with buying at least until MtGox has made their press statement.
Chances are at least 50% prices will decrease so you'll be able to buy in lower.

Is there any more news of smartcoin getting added to Cryptsy?
When do you think it will happen?
486  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Wallet Backup Question? on: February 19, 2014, 05:37:07 PM
You should see the correct amount of BTC if using Bitcoin-qt, depending to/from which addresses you sent/received BTC.

It depends on the wallet-software.

Bitcoin-qt generates addresses in batches of 100. It will use an address from the pool every time you request a new receiving-address and every time you send coins (for the change-address). So you should backup your wallet-file every 100 (receiving-addresses requested + transactions sent).

Other wallets can have different methods to generate address. For example, Electrum generates addresses deterministically using the initial passphrase. No backups beyond the first are needed here.

What usb key would be recomended for extra security level ?

Just make sure your wallet is encrypted with a passphrase.
You can now store you wallet safely on any usb if they are unable to guess / bruteforce the passphrase.

491  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here's what the Mt. Gox Press Release will say and why on: February 19, 2014, 01:10:54 PM
time to be positive and optimistic. we have no gain collapsement of mtgox

Actually I believe we will.
The bad PR around mtgox affects the general bitcoin scene. Once they're done we can resume gaining a positive image with trusted decentralized exchanges.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DogeCoin Potential? on: February 19, 2014, 01:05:41 PM
In my opinion (not based on technical analysis, just gut feeling) Doge is already over it's top at the moment, and it will only decrease in value.
The hype has gone.
493  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-02-18] Ukraine on track to legalize Bitcoins on: February 19, 2014, 11:43:10 AM
Great news!
Maybe this can have a small impact on the current revolution going on there.
494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What Alt Coin is best to invest right now? on: February 19, 2014, 12:05:35 AM
I would invest in smartcoin. Undervalued at the moment and will likely be added to cryptsy very soon Smiley
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: starting up my own cryptocurrency on: February 19, 2014, 12:04:26 AM
What kind of altcoin are you exactly trying to start up?
N/o but from reading the OP it seems that you have no idea what you are doing, and need someone else do do the think work for you..
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SAD NEWS Mikhail Sindeyev (thecoder) has Died Suddenly on: February 18, 2014, 10:26:47 PM

May he rest in peace, 27 is way too young to pass away Sad
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which exchange?! on: February 18, 2014, 09:48:16 PM
With more volume, you are more likely to buy / sell bitcoins at a price that is more appealing to you.
Orders will get fulfilled faster.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It's my berf-day. What coin should I treat myself to? on: February 18, 2014, 09:35:16 PM
