They said shipping yesterday, and no tracking numbers yet?...Not a single one?

482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: October 01, 2013, 04:28:07 PM

dude, be patient. They are doing the best they can (and have been fucking impressive so far) so lets keep trust in them, cut them a break and just chill out!
+10000

I'm chill. No panic here Smiley And yes, what they pulled off is impressive.

Still, no excuse to not give an update on delivery date. They supposedly gave an answer by phone (shipment tonight). Why not put that on their news feed?

Remember the amounts paid for these rigs. It's not like we are ordering a $45 router here. Smiley

Cheers

If you are not in their position, you cant say that have no excuse to post an update. They are busy as hell right now making the miners. Even if they did give an update, someone would complain about something. Like i said, lets just wait until tonight, im sure they will keep us updated as they feel fit. You had faith by spending the amount you did, so keep up that faith and just wait.

Should have arranged a group-drive, to pick up and deliver individually, back through Europe. Be a fun road trip....and a valuable van!

you could run a generator and some 3g internet and hash along the way! lol

Hmmmm. A plug-in mining module for road vehicles, using the motor to invert the power needed. AutoHash.

You might have something there ASIC.  Shocked

Mobile hashing! PATENT PENDING

No tracking number. no hash spike. No answer on the phone.
Cloudhashing have a countdown with 6 hours remaining for their hosting option. I hope knc are not just looking out for the big fish first but an earlier poster said he was told on the phone that day1 orders were shipping today and day2 orders tomorrow afternoon. I think UPS last pickup is 7pm local so its going to be close. I wish they would just keep us informed as to whats going on as I need to take a day off to meet the UPS van

+1

I don't think that is too much to ask of them right now...

Well, nobody with a day one order and a tracking number for shipment.

Maybee somebody with a hash spike on one of it's worker accounts ?

i bet they are building them as we speak, as many as possible until the shipment deadline. Then after they are done for the day, they will post how many went out and provide tracking numbers. priority is probably on building as many units as possible. they even have 'orama building them, so i bet there is nobody available to make contact with right now. lol

...
Earlier on knc said they'd engage us early on in the development process... but then didn't, and wrote their own driver for cgminer. I can't predict what they'll do now and how that will impact on whether code will be merged or maintained in cgminer, but I will be asking for them to provide their driver code publicly.

doesnt really matter though right? once you get your hands on one, you can make your own awesome driver anyway....
There'd be no point buying one now - it won't get back it's BTC cost - since difficulty will sky rocket in the next month or so - and they don't want us involved so I can't see one appearing on the doorstep.

(a 200% jump would mean that after that 200% jump, 469GH/s would make 22BTC in 100 days if after that jump it rose 30% each 11 days ... then subtract 850W for 100 days ...)

So ... yeah, except that they are required to provide the source code to anyone with one, that asks for the code, I can't see much else happening.

As a developer I certainly have no interest in giving someone $1000's of dollars to update their driver ... and never get that $1000's back.
That's paying someone when you do work for them - yeah not gonna happen.
I prefer to simply not lose the BTC.

I've said this phrase too often, but "Excuse my ignorance", shouldn't CGMiner display the actual mining rate without having to do calculations?
When I look at my erupters mining, it is displaying 333MHash/s each, plain as day. Why not here?
That's because the implementation of the hashrate meter is driver dependent, and in this case, we didn't write the driver. When we do write the driver, the hashrate displayed is the effective valid hashrate only (i.e. not hardware errors).

ahh, and you are planning to do it? will you receive some KNC miner for testing and driver development?

Yes I'll support any device I have myself.

But I don't see confirmation that we'll be given hardware, and I'm not buying one.

what if i loan you my mercury?

What if 469GH/s is with 1% of chip working? Are we getting 46,9TH/s devices?!

hahahah good one!

My very second post in this fantastic forum!  Smiley (First one was in the newbies' forum)
Thanks to most people for valuable inputs...

Anyone who knows how we will be able to adjust our miner settings?
Pools, worker names, passwords etc.

Does the Beagle bone board has a video connection or do we have to use SSH or a web interface?
And what about keyboard connection?

It would be great if someone who actually knows could answer. Wild guesses are not so helpful.

The reason for asking is because I am not a genuine computer wizard and am hoping for a relatively user friendly interface.

On the KNC forum I once asked if the miner will come with a user manual but no reply from KNC as of yet.
Though I am glad KNC used their time to work instead of wasting time on silly questions and FUD.

If my questions were already answered earlier I apologize for it escaping my attention. I have followed this thread for months now but I do not remember this question has been answered clearly.

you will ssh into web interface of beaglebone.
