481  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the factor that affects the price of bitcoin on: January 26, 2023, 06:36:25 PM
There are a bunch of preconceived ideas about the aspects or justifications that affect the price of Bitcoin. I will give you some illustrations: Contest; Cost of production; Supply and Demand; Restrictions and Legal Matters etc.

In your statement or ideas, what are the elements that can influence the price of bitcoin?
In a very longer term it's obviously overall demand of the market and supply related to that asset. Also it's very obvious that potential of future earnings from that asset is also a factor in bitcoin you can say the potential of future adoption will be that factor. In the other smaller time frames, obviously it's news, new developments, whale play, legalities and all these things. In very small time frames it's generally just market makers actions.
482  Economy / Economics / Re: Keeping money and keeping bitcoins? are they similar? on: January 26, 2023, 06:31:12 PM
The massive awareness to keep bitcoins for as long as possible promotes people to develop the attitude of saving, just like saving money. Do you agree with this that people who are very good at saving money become very good at keeping bitcoins when they finally start doing cryptocurrency? Or do you feel that there is no similarity between keeping bitcoins and keeping money?
Obviously yes, people are very good at saving money will be good in all the aspects related to keeping assets safe throughout their lives. This habit is not specific to just fiat, it's about controlling your habits and maintaining the lifestyle. So yes it's obviously similar to keep your bitcoin and keeping money. But yes investment in bitcoin is easier i have seen some people making some trades in between their holding period of bitcoin and increase their overall holdings.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: After Budgeting, How Do I Deal With Unexcepted Expenses? on: January 22, 2023, 04:16:22 PM
The following actions are basic steps in budgeting:
- Track your expenses and income for one month
- Create the categories that fit your life
- Set some short-term and long-term financial goals
- Cut certain areas to make those financial goals possible
- Adjust your budget according overtime.

Even if I take all of these steps, "unexpected expenses" still throw off my budget for me. I will keep track of all my spending and costs, create a budget, and begin adhering to it, but before you know it, a huge unforeseen expense will ruin everything, leaving me discouraged and not budgeting for a while. This usually occurs when I spend excessively in one category or another and realize that the budget isn't working, at which point I give up.

Suggest ways to deal with unexpected expenses?

See there are 2-3 types of unexpected expenses that generally come in the way of a budget and the way to solve them differ as well.
The first and actual unexpected expenses are healthcare expenses like you got an injury or even worse got any hospitalization or even Death. Generally your Insurance should cover these expenses, I generally suggest people to buy Insurances available with OPD benefit as well. So you are reimbursed for almost everything.( Obviously upto a limit but it generally is sufficient). Second expenses are like some of your appliance got broke or some other repair of something you use. I generally recommend you keep a buffer of 10% in your total budget always for such expenses because these will always come you can never stop them ever. If they still exceed in some case I suggest you withdraw some amount from emergency fund but make sure to replenish it in the month there is a saving. Other than these rest are definitely the unexpected expenses which can be avoided so it's best to avoid them if it's not possible fit them in category 2.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 22, 2023, 02:38:56 PM
Bhai i consider myself one of the biggest cheerleaders of the Indian team in here and i hardly take this win as a big statement.

As of now, India has 50 venues for ODI's (one day internationals), it's on record. So we can't take anything for granted because of diverse pitches so more or less it depends on the combinations.

And history tells us that we mess up everything in crucial moments.
Agreed, but I have a good feeling about this particular Indian team. I don't think history will repeat in crucial encounters and India could end up claiming the cup just like Argentina after a long, long time.

The ODI series is in Pocket.

So it would be a good idea if India try a new combination in the batting department. Maybe Rohit and Kohli should take an early leave and play at least 1 Ranji Match before BGT kicks in. Give some new batters a chance at the top order.
This is a good idea. Rahul is busy getting married and Rohit along with Kohli should take some time off too.
I think the same. If Bumrah is fit and picks up form before the world cup there is definitely no one who can stop us from taking the world cup. Playing in Indian conditions is heavenly for our players. Also the team this year has a lot of odi matches to play before the world cup itself so, there will be a lot of trial and testing to find the best combination. And even as of now 8-9 months before the cup i feel we have almost the winning combination just 3-4 spots need to be finalized.
485  Economy / Economics / Re: Excessive Rain Can Hamper the Economic Cycle on: January 22, 2023, 02:08:18 PM
Economic cycle? This is a natural climatic disaster, it doesn't only disturbs the economic cycle but the complete life cycle of a certain place. A lot of people die and have to be relocated, not to forget even animals suffer a lot of deaths. People are abandoned and separated from their loved ones. So this is much more than just a disturbance in economic cycle.
486  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Market on the Rise, But Proceed with Caution! on: January 22, 2023, 02:03:34 PM
The market is bullish, obviously it's not a new bull run as we had in a bigger time frame but it's a short term bullish momentum that the market currently is experiencing. Some are even saying it's a correction in the bear cycle as you see the monthly RSI of bitcoin went to the oversold region it is now being corrected into the median area. I feel one should not say anything as a bull run until you see market near 20-30% area of the last all time high.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin always shames social media experts. on: January 21, 2023, 03:25:38 PM
One unique feature of Bitcoin is that it always put social media acclaimed "experts" to shame. Sometimes these social media bitcoiners claim mastery over bitcoin. They indiscriminately predict its price as if they invented the coin with Satoshi. Even Satoshi now might not understand the price movement of Bitcoin because the creation is now economically powerful.

Through trial and error, some of them might have been predicted correctly in the past. And they have large followers that believe their analysis and follower their predictions.  One social media so-called expert recently shut down his social media platform because he predicted that bitcoin would keep falling until it goes into extinction. It was his followers that attacked him until he forcefully closed his page.

Happy bull run.
True that. But I think these followers always know that what they are claiming is not true infact most of them know how manipulate things as well. They try to be with the wave always and claim that they have made millions from.the market but in reality they don't even have a $100k account of cryptos. Anyone who claims mastery over trading should be a red flag in itself. A real trader will always say he is earning but yet still learning because markets are dynamic and change everyday.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 21, 2023, 12:50:56 PM
Nothing much to say about the match today New Zealand top order and middle order both struggled in previous match too and they did in this as well. This time it was a big collapse instead and no one could save them. I think it's an fairly easy chance that India might make a clean sweep here and you'll then see India on top of icv odi rankings soon as well.
489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it safe to buy now? on: January 20, 2023, 10:38:46 PM
I observed that the cryptocurrency market is a kind of green at the moment, but as a beginner, I still find it difficult to tell when the market is actually bullish. I will appreciate any advice from fellow community members concerning this current situation because I'm considering to buy some coins but finding it difficult to decide on which coin to give a trail.

Just a kind advice, the risk is mine.

I'll give you the kindest advice, be prepared to have some unrealized loss in the beginning. Go for averaging out, suppose you have 10k to invest. Just go with $2500 on your first buy. Then wait for market to go down if it does buy another $2500. Remember the point is to buy in the bearish times and not in the bullish times. Suppose you were wrong and market did not go anywhere near that point ladder your buy if you see a complete reversal of trend. These are the small tricks that can help you earn and stay in the market because no one has a holy grail as to when will market reverse. Also best is to be in bitcoin as in all the situations it is impacted the least.
490  Economy / Economics / Re: How is the cost of living in your country? on: January 20, 2023, 04:18:02 PM
I am a 32 year old male living in Australia.

Today I purchased some fresh fruit, a loaf of good bread, good quality milk and 2kg of chicken drumsticks for my German Shepherd (he eats human food only) and the cost was close to $50.

I feel this is the first time in my adult life I have genuinely noticed the rising cost of goods and services especially groceries.

Petrol is over $2.10 a litre and my water and electricity bills have also increased by about 15%.

I really feel bad for the elderly pensioners in this country. They are definitely struggling.

I would be curious to read of the experiences others around the world are having in regards to their cost of living.
I am really surprised to see people not experiencing inflation since so many years. It's a concept taught in almost all the schools it's not just in theory and in countries like Australia it has always been there. I understand that this time it was slightly more vigorous and steep. But still why are people waking up for the first time to see inflation we saw the same during 2008 crash as well so it's not new definitely and smart people always plan for it that's why they say to invest in asset giving returns more than inflation.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 20, 2023, 04:13:38 PM
Hats off to Michael Bracewell.

At one point it was a dead chase where they were at 131/6 and from there he took a charge and gave his team big hope of winning the match and doing so gave a good scare to the Indian team but Lord Thakur was playing for India lol

Gill is proving his worth in ODI and it seems it's his fav format.
Really man what a match it would have been if Bracewell would have taken it away. All the happiness of Gill's double hundred would have turned into sadness. But these kind of comebacks prove why New zealand is number 1 team in ODIs right now. Doing such things that also in away matches. But hats off to Gill. I believe Gill and Kishan is now the future opening pair India can look upto. And too early to say I know but Gill can prove to be the next run machine for India after Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin and Virat. But Gill has to improve himself to adapt in other formats as well. He won't get a lot of opportunities, being in the team is too competitive right now.
Gill is an excellent batter but the problem with him is that he takes time to get set and aslo doesn't take any risk. That is the reason why he is not suitable for T20 format. Ishan Kishan suits more as a T20 batter as he is quick and is also not afraid to take risk. Too much competition between these two players but only one would get an opportunity to be part of playing 11 in the upcoming world cup.
You are right but I think so was the problem with Kohli until some time back. He also used to play in the same way until a few years back and yet was pretty successful in that format. I think if you open the innings you have the freedom to take your time and settle and we saw the sixes he hit once he was settled. So I think as long as he is scoring runs, he can be the part of the team. Ishan Kishan obviously is much suitable he has a batting style more like that of Rohit Sharma. Which is why I think he would play that role in the team moving forward.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: We are not out of the woods yet on: January 20, 2023, 03:58:40 PM
There is always this most painful season in crypto space that hurts even the strongest of crypto holders out there where they will almost give up, I don't believe that this bear market will be different, if you are here in 2019 you knew what I am talking about.

It will get to a point where many will start losing hope on crypto, a more painful bottom will occur and holders will lose faith, the bear market will look like it will be here forever.

We are not at this point yet so do not get too confidence that a new all times low is no more possible, no one saw COV-19 coming in 2020 and anything can still happen between 2023- 2024.
So true, i see a lot of people celebrating an end of bear run. But this definitely isn't an end. Infact I won't say anything is an end until we reach 20% near the recent all time high that we have. You see market will not behave the same way because big whales know they can't be predictable for retailers so ideally they will always try to make things uncertain give you fake hints. I am expecting this time bear run can stay for a longer period of time because of a lot of accumulation is required to make btc 100k.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to organise your Bitcoin wealth for a lifetime? on: January 19, 2023, 08:24:27 PM
Hello! Bitcoin is a big part of my life, in both qualitative and quantitative terms.

I have been struggling with identifying how I should organise my Bitcoin. I guess we are all familiar with organising our FIAT money in several bank accounts etc.

I currently have:

  • First layer wallet: 10% - 15% of my BTC in my mobile hot wallet (I love BlueWallet)
  • Second layer wallet: ~30% of my BTC in a hardware wallet that connects to the internet via USB
  • Non-circulating BTC: ~60% of my BTC in a cold storage air gapped device

I use my second layer wallet when I need to fund my first layer wallet, which I use for payments. I plan to leave my non-circulating BTC to my children or perhaps I will use some of it once I am retired.

I have dual backups for my wallets, stored in different places.

I want your opinion on the following:
1. What do you think about my plan in general?
2. I currently have paper backups and I plan to change my backups from paper to metal, especially for my hardware wallets. Do you agree with that?
3. Would you want to share what you do and how you organise your Bitcoin? In fact, I might be able to get some ideas from clever people in here! So please, shoot me with your thoughts!
The plan is great. Especially that you have kept two backups of the seedphrase so that just in case one of them goes missing or destroyed you have the other one to rescue. Also keeping 60% in a cold wallet which is not connected to any web is a great idea as well because the biggest chunk of your portfolio is then perfectly secure without any harm from hackers and even far away from you that you sell it in panic.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Anyone know why FTT price started to rise just now? on: January 19, 2023, 04:15:55 PM
Anyone know why FTT price started to rise just now?

I'm searching on google but not found any news, not even found on any Twitter from any person related to case of ftx.

I'm asking here to know about the reason. Thanks
I think it's because of two reasons one is that FTX US is still active so obviously some traction does comes from there. Secondly I have heard there were some rumours about the exchange restarting after the settlement of all the customers takes place and this time in an organized manner with no scams. Maybe this is why not only FTX all the coins in that eco system are getting slightly pumped up.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a trend over other cryptocurrency. on: January 19, 2023, 04:07:50 PM
Bitcoin as we know is cryptocurrency which rise and fall in the digital crypto market. Bitcoin has a trend over other cryptocurrency in the sense that Bitcoin is the leading cryptocurrency in the world digital crypto market. Over the year we find out that those in invested in Bitcoin benefits greatly  which make a lot of investors to key into cryptocurrency. But despite that Bitcoin diminish but that doesn't mean it the end of Bitcoin. Recently Bitcoin has been tend to high value on like others cryptocurrency that remains or increase in a little bit. So I urge every one that now is the best to buy Bitcoin as it trend to increase in no distance time.
Bitcoin is obviously the barometer of the market and this thing really sucks as well. You obviously don't want all your portfolio to be red when just one coins in which you haven't even invested goes red. But this is the truth of crypto market it's too much dependent on bitcoin. The dominance level is so high that it decides the direction of the market always. Even bull run and bear runs are classified on basis of its price only.

497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bloody Year 2022 coming to End on: January 18, 2023, 04:44:50 PM
Such a bloody year to be honest. It was exactly opposite to the year 2021 which was like the best year for Cryptos. But I feel that the pain might still not be over. Atleast not in 2023, if I remember correctly 2018 was bad but 2019 was even worse and so were the starting months of 2020, and I somehow expect a similar pattern from the market this time as well. You might see a dull 2023 before a bright 2024.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs CBDC - Print your own stickers on: January 18, 2023, 04:42:19 PM
Haha trust me printing stickers and resisting is not going to be effective at all. This way is exactly similar to governments shouting against Cryptos telling that they are a scam they are risky they are fraudulent. CBDC is just their answer to tackle Cryptos and trust me it will never affect Crypto market in any way. Only thing it will effect is fiat. People are into crypto either for it's value appreciation or for it's decentralised and confidential mechanism and none of them can be provided by a CBDC. So chill out CBDC cannot harm Cryptos.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & Anonymity on: January 12, 2023, 06:07:59 PM
I have read that authorities are able to track the bitcoins if they are being move illegally. For example, if a wallet was hack and also most cryptocurrency exchange would require you to show ID when you sign up.

So my questions are..

1) How are the authorities able to track our bitcoins?

2) How do we continue to remain anonymous while trading bitcoins?
3) Are there cryptocurrency exchanges that does not require our ID to trade in large quantity?

1. Atleast somewhere today you must have done a KYC in your wallet which means some place has your real identity disclosed. Now if the bitcoin you hold transfer from that account or wallet for just once only government will be able to establish a trail easily.
2. Don't transfer funds to any KYC wallet
3. I think Kucoin still doesn't require any ID but it's only until 1 btc per day I think so more than that you'll have to give ID on every centralized exchange.
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: You Learn More from Losses than from Wins on: January 12, 2023, 05:46:38 PM
Remember the first trading lesson you learned as a newbie? Did it come from a win or a loss? A loss teaches you about the reality of the market, protects you from becoming cocky, and humbles you. When you are a beginner trader, a small loss is not a terrible thing. Losses teach you proper trading risk management strategies and techniques and respect for the market and prepare you for long-term success.

Remember the first lesson you learned as a beginner trader? Did it come from a loss or a win?
This is very true. Profits do nothing to your betterment they just make you more boastful, they hardly teach you anything instead they make you feel that everything is correct nothing is wrong while that's not the case. It's losses that teach you that even though last time you made profit the theory which you applied was still pretty wrong so you should redo the things again in the correct manner. For me also losses taught me that most important thing to take care of is how to make a trade not the profit and loss out of it.
