481  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambler Loses 1.4 million USD in a bet with lower than 1.01 odds! on: March 12, 2024, 03:29:33 AM
https://nypost.com/2023/01/15/gambler-loses-massive-1-4-million-bet-on-chargers-jaguars-game/
Quote
One bettor wasted a massive $1.4 million wager after betting on Los Angeles before the Jaguars mounted an epic comeback to beat the Chargers 31-30, according to Action Network’s Darren Rovell.

It seems that a gambler has loss this massive amount (1.4 million USD) playing a bet with an odds lower than 1.01! (exactly 1.008)

I think there are several lessons here:
- there is not easy bet! even lower odds there is always a risk.
- it's really risky playing an huge amount. This not helps gambler because the risk is much much higher then rewards!
- gambling is not easy at all! it's really hard achieve a profit even for easy games!

what your opinion about this gambling issue? did you had experience similar experience? how a good gambler should avoid such mistakes?

Football is unpredictable, speaking as someone that's into soccer betting...no matter how small the odds are, there's nothing safe
At the end of the day it's better you play a significant odd like 2 to 3 odds for more value and staking what you can afford to lose
Even if u get it wrong with proper analysis you can get  your money back within two or three days
If you know what you are doing, out of 7 times a week you can get it right for four days
Four days should give u profit in a week... another option is short football on paripesa or 1xbet... getting small odds are not as hard as real  soccer

I wonder if someone who has that amount to spend in gambling is an idiot to begin with, it is not that easy to find such people. I mean, idiots in the intellectual sense, not in personality or traits - those are aplenty. But anyway, that sum may not be much for some of the people out there. For a billionaire that is like a drop in the ocean and may not be enough to even feel any thrill about it.

I mean he can't be an idiot completely since he's got a million to blow, right? Unless he inheirited or something and also happens to be a billionaire now as well - to your point that does seem like a small chunck of change to them. Its pretty wild how someone would take chances like that. He threw a 1.4 million dollar property basically up there on the trade block and got screwed to put it into perspective.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 12, 2024, 03:22:05 AM
He just beat Ryan Bourland recently who looks like not willing to fight and Jake is up again for another.
They should call this a fight but an exhibition but believe it or not is happening. You think Mike is done after Roy Jones but Jake wants to pull him again for he just needs recognition from the boxing community.

I would be surprised if Mike beats Jake. He is 60.  Would you bet if its on Stake?

Quote
Jake Paul is set to fight former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in a boxing match that will be livestreamed on Netflix.

The bout is scheduled to take place on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Texas and will be available to all Netflix subscribers. Additional information, including the co-main event and undercards, will be announced at a later date. It is being produced in a partnership between Netflix and Paul’s and Nakisa Bidarian’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP).

This will not be the first time Paul and Tyson have appeared on a boxing card together. Paul fought in the co-main event of the pay-per-view that saw Tyson fight an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which was Tyson’s first boxing match since 2006. Paul defeated former NBA player Nate Robinson via knockout in the second round in what was Paul’s second professional boxing match.

Jake is all about making the cake. He will take the fall for Mike Tyson to keep his reputation for a big pile of cash because it'll be better for huge endorsement deals/ad revenue and things like that- that Jake will get cut into perhaps- this is just my hypothesis of what will happen lol, he has done that before in his previous fights
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does the game of luck in gambling really works? on: March 10, 2024, 05:23:53 AM
The game of luck that is involved in gambling, is it the one of individual grace which attracts goodwills? Or it is by the days the gamble decides to remember you and then gives you the chance (s) winning?

I brought this up here because last night I went visiting a friend in his house and getting there, he was busy concentrating on his phone which I knew nothing about what he was in there doing.
He pleaded with me to be patient a little so he could finish up what he was doing and I said okay, go on and don't even stress yourself hurrying because of me.

He went silent at me for over 10mins and finally, it was the casino game tha he was busy playing.
The next thing he said to me was... Mate, let's roll out to the mall, I am taking charge of your bills tonight.
It was like a joke and we both went shopping and he paid $800 of my bills.
Guess what fellas, he said he won $13,980 in his casino bet while I was in his house. He claimed it was by my grace of goodwills and positive energy that attracted him that luck to win so, he don't mind having me 10% of that winning because he can't remember the last time he won a bet.

I don't really believe this dude because such grace has not even worked for me although some of my physical trader friends sometimes says they have more customers anytime I comes around their trading centres and they love having me around.

Does this really happen a reality or it is just some sorts of mental reasoning fellas?

The energy you bring is the energy that sticks around you. In Einstein's or is it Newton's line of thought they say something like 'Energy cannot be created, nor destroyed, but only transferred' you know you really should read the book - "Think and Grow Rich" - in my opinion it is all in your head and your body is a beacon to frequency and also a transmitter of energy. So your thoughts and spirit have a huge affect on every outcome that you find yourself in. In your position, it seems like you have a natrual gift of spreading this good energy - and therefore I believe that was this positive trait that you exemplified that maybe helped just push the needle to where it needed to be! All this shit is just practically spewing out of me at this point, what did I say? lmfao. Have a good night /day, everyone. Good Luck! Be that positive vibe  Cool peace out bitches
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 10, 2024, 05:18:07 AM
VR is crap. It is getting overhyped.

Online casinos > real life casinos > VR casinos

On some occasions real life casinos might be better than online casinos but on no occasion VR casinos are better than online or real life casinos.

In other words, there is no future for VR. Not for me at least, I know that much.

It is simply a technology which is at a very raw state of development, that is all. I believe it was the same when the first portable phones started to appear in the market, you know. They were of the side of a brick and you had to had a special little bag attaches to your belt, in order to carry them around with you, not even mention one could only make and receive calls with those, no text messages.
As technologies continue to advance, it will more likely form people to get a more appealing and affordable experience with virtual reality and casinos, in my opinion. As it stands for now, it is quite obvious one cannot expect most of people to own a Virtual reality set, in the other hand, it is more realistic to assume most of people own a smartphone, which is more than enough for them to gamble.

But I understand you lack of enthusiasm about VR, not long ago when Facebook started to talk about the Metaverse, it got all those invertors fired up on the idea of virtual worlds, only to deliver lackluster experiences with graphics out of reality 2000s. Only because Meta/Facebook failed on their mission, it does not mean someone in the future could try again and succeed, though.

The truth is that I have not had the opportunity to try casinos or have experiences in virtual reality, and the truth is that I have seen videos and people stay stuck there watching, they don't care much about the rest, in fact a movie that is very famous that It is about one of these types of games, where there was a site of very addicted people who, when they were put to sleep, came out in another virtual reality world, and that for them was the best, and they seemed like drug addicts but with a virtual world.

I couldn't say that the metaverses are bad, maybe they are not improved or we are asking a lot and it is not ready yet, or we expect very advanced things like the ones we see in the movies, but I would really like to have a good experience with casino or any other game that has to do with virtual reality, it catches my attention, I don't know if any casino can have this implemented where we as players buy the equipment to be able to play, above all I would like it if they could do it to play poker , where you can recreate an environment where there is a table, chairs and we move around as if we were an Avatar, I think that these types of things are of progress and the future.

It may be that as time passes these things improve and you have a very good user experience and opinions change from bad to good.

I mean if you want my honest opinion I think we have pretty much hit the best we can get with gambling (at least in the US). You can go to Vegas and its truly a gamblers paradise. In Florida and so many other states casinos are run by the Indian Tribes, which honestly I think have done a pretty damn good job with their casinos. I personally think that the HardRock Casinos are pretty swanky, but I never go there. The few times I have ever gone were for business conferences, where I did walk around for a bit and enjoyed myself when you just sit around and observe its kind of a sad place really. Lots of folks there all look tired, maybe a little hungry and smug faces. The place is littered with the smell of smoke, you can see obviouis prostitutes walking about, I mean it really is quite a sight lmao. This is why I have never really taken a liking to it, but honestly it really does depend on the person and the place. Perception is reality. Thats why you see Next.io pumping all this talk about how online casinos will be more social in the future etc, and the online gambling experience is going to change, they will tailor it to your liking to keep you coming back. Maybe they'll have different customization, maybe they will send you some kind of package in the mail to go along with the online experience, who knows?! Now that I think of it though maybe these video game casinos and this whole idea of a social video game casino through VR wouldn't be all that bad, but I for one won't be wasting my money on these things. I would much rather have a chance at something a little more within reach.
485  Economy / Gambling / Re: justbit.io asking me for KYC although their site explicitly states no KYC on: March 10, 2024, 05:09:52 AM
Maybe every casino should be more precise in their statements, especially those that can be interpreted in different ways. The OP is definitely right when he says that he was guided by what he read, but unfortunately things are never that simple, because the real truth is always hidden in the TOS and is written in small letters.

I don't think there is a single online casino that is completely KYC-free unless it is something illegal, which is of course a completely different story.

Op are right  I have come across as situation where it's stated no KYC but at the end I was facing KYC issue that make me losses my coin. They have some hidden information just like fiat bank operator not all information is written to be seen clearly you can only get to know you have signed in certain things you need not to when you have deep challenges they will reveal to you those hidden things.

Its funny, its like you need to become your own private investigator these days. Always read the fine print! It is fine for a reason! More often than not it is always going to be directed towards the other parties interest or in this case a clever trick to get you to trust in them thinking you can get away scott free and then they rug pull you with the KYC hammer. I mean to Lucius point the truth is always hidden in the TOS, the TCs, the MSA, the whatever legal contract they got you to agree to!
486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling : Next Generation Challenges on: March 10, 2024, 05:03:56 AM
A Panel here says that the next generation of online gambling will be more social, engaged and targeted.

This was discussed in the Next.io conference held in New York. They said that online gambling will be more targeted and at the same time it become more of a social activity. Right now we see that an online gambler is gambling in solo with no social connections but this could change in future.

The online gambling companies have to reform themselves as this will be a new demand from the young generation who are coming to online gambling and they need socialization also while gambling (like we used to have in physical gambling).

Oh yes absolutely, and this is where the metaverse and virtually reality come in, which will completely transform gambling. It would pretty much put an actual human inside of a video game, but for gambling. In a sense a "ready player one" but the gambling version. This is a very interesting thread, i'll have to check out this Next.io footnotes!
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A call to self-examining our gambling habit. on: March 10, 2024, 05:00:56 AM
As gambler when last did you self-examine your gambling habit to create that awareness based on how you are gambling in order for you to be quite sure if you're within a considerable or an acceptable range of a gambling habit that is void of addiction or the tendencies of gambling addiction.

I think if gamblers could take certain step in setting up regular self examining question towards themself it will be helpful to them in their gambling life not to ignorantly be harbouring a gambling addiction or compulsive gambling lifestyle. Quite a number of gamblers are nursing an addictive gambling habit without knowing and for them their gambling life is normal but if they should  genuinely scrutinize or put their habit to test it is possible they could find varied errors to correct and be right on track again.

Don't you think so?

The problem with your self examination is that if you don't back it up with action then it means nothing. Anyone can look into the mirror and see that they are extremely fat, but if they don't do anything about it they'll be fat for the rest of their life! This same analogy is true with a gambling addiction. I think anyone who has an addiction is pretty self aware, but do they want to change is the question? If they do want to change then we have a start, but the truth is that humans are very weak, at least most of us when it comes to problems like this. I would equate it to digging yourself in a hole, you need to ask for help to get out. Down in a hole you have no resources, its dark down there and there isn't much light! It takes a true friend that really cares about you to give you some honest and sometimes very blunt truth & it also takes nothing short of a bright and burning fire of a desire to want to stop this addiction. Get at the very least two very close friends, in alliance with one another in a group chat where they hold you accountable and be truthful. That is a way that can be very helpful hopefully to many!
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Even as a sport fan be careful! on: March 09, 2024, 05:00:49 AM
Two Brighton supporters were stabbed in Rome last night ahead of tonight's Europa League round of 16 first leg tie against Roma.

Rumors says they were away supporters, and the showoff was immense. I feel there is a need that if a Fan goes on a vacation to watch a game in a foreign country. They should be security conscious, observant and stay out of unnecessary banters that could lead them to troubles or death. It a game for fun and merriment not something we should take too personally to heart to cause trouble.

Woah, talk about some crazy stuff. You just never know these days you've got to be careful out there. Especially in a foreign country and if you are with your friends - drinking- etc etc things could get ugly and fast. What an unfortunate occurance. At the same time if you're on an opposing teams turn you better make sure you act accordingly, there are so many drunk idiots out there that do some really stupid shit, lol.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your go-to sports betting risk management strategies? on: March 09, 2024, 04:57:35 AM
If you are using risk management strategies in gambling, you are both gambling for fun and you are gambling to win. What I opine about risk management in gambling, it is not to prevent you from losing but to present you the best possible strategies to make you win a bet. It turns you from an emotional loss chasing gambler to a logical event winning and profit making gambler.

Which of these is your go-to sports betting risk management strategies?

1. Hedging - Basically it is placing another bet to reduce the potential losses or risks associated with your first bet.

2 Arbitrage Betting - Here you bets on all possible outcomes of an event with different bookmakers to secure a profit no matter of the outcome.

3. Cash Out: When you cash out in betting, you take a portion payout from the bet before the game is over
It is do to guarantee a profit or minimize losses, especially when the original bet is winning or losing.

4. Matched Betting:  It is involves the use of free bets and promotions from bookmakers to cover all possible outcomes of a game and guarantee a profit.

*The list is inexhaustible. You can add your favorite if it is missing.

I think one thing you should add is the parlay. I think its honestly incredible when you can place a three fold bet and get paid so much more on the winnings. Of course you have to be much more accurate and know what you're doing, unless its just sheer luck of course. The second method I am most interested in is the Arbitrage betting. That scenario you can hedge your bets and ensure a profit margin mostly if you have a good method.

Parker
vs
Zhang

Joseph Parker beat Zhilei Zhang on a points decision. The scorecards were:

113-113
113-112
115-111

Even though Parker was knocked down in the 3rd and 8th round, Zhang did not capitalise on the chance to end the fight. Full credit to Parker for getting back in to the fight and getting his composure back to win the fight.

I think he deserves a title fight. If Joshua is being lined up to face the winner of the Fury vs Usyk fight which could run in to a trilogy, then where does Parker fit in to the puzzle?

Damn nice pics! I saw Parker getting knocked down in the 3rd round some dude was streaming it from his phone somehow from a bar lmao. I caught a glimse. kind of crazy. I would love to attend some of these some day. I can't wait to watch some of the other fights this weekend.

A couple, who had been dating for a mere three months before they won an eye-watering $1.9 million dollars, split soon after.

Source: https://www.news.com.au/finance/money/wealth/lotto-war-i-won-19million-lotto-with-my-girlfriend-then-she-dumped-me-out-of-the-blue/news-story/c1f568efd16ff7f0aa0efe72652cabe5

Based on the situation of this couple, regardless of them being split soon after the winning, I think the best thing to do here is to cut the prize into half so that tensions between the two parties will de-escalate and avoid any confrontation or emotional turmoil and stress that sometimes end up so badly on both of them. Ego clash won't bear good results that is why we need to keep ourselves calm and fair with others especially in a situation like this.

Have you ever tried something like this situation before?
So what is your thoughts on this, 50/50 good for you or nah?
Will you insist to have an ego battle if you are on the same situation?
If your answer is yes then Why?
And if no then why not?
What are the things you would do to resolve the issue?
How do you think you can handle this kind of situation?

Shoot, I mean good for both of them hopefully the pot was split evenly and they parted their separate ways with a ton of cash to live the life they've always dreamed of? Best case. Worst case one of them got the lions share and took of leaving the other in the dust, either way what a crazy roller coaster that must have been. I hope they are both doing well now. This is giving me crazy "what happens in vegas" vibes (the movie with kutcher).
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I just woke up and saw wins in my gambling app on: March 09, 2024, 04:48:01 AM
I know this is not a new experience for many old gamblers that has been into gambling, but for me it's a new one, I've played a game over a week ago and I didn't even bother to check cause I never expect it to play out or let's say I mostly forgot since it was a busy week, just yesterday I logged it to check out the booking code my friend sent to me so I could fund my account and try it, the nest thign i saw from sporty was a win on my screen, I was shocked thinking it as a network glitch or something then I went to check my balance I had just won some cash, I was happy.

And worst of it, I never expected that game to play it was a rare case of I just tried my luck.

This is another reason why gambling can not be a job or anything like a source of income cause you can't know your games would play out and no predictions is ever accurate.

If you have such experience share it with us let's see the luck guys around.

Hey, congratulations man that is great! A win is a win and it should be celebrated no matter how big or small. I know with gambling it is easy to feel that you are going to lose it all, that is why I never gamble with any money that I woudn't expect to lose. In your case you took a risk and were rewarded. Take some time to soak it in!!!
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How your feels? on: March 09, 2024, 04:45:45 AM
I want to know how it feels among those of you who gamble using altcoins or bitcoins, basically the crypto you are using today has increased significantly, we know that in 2022-2023 coins that are small are not so valuable, and how does it feel today? Is there a little regret or do you not care because the money you lose in gambling is a necessity for you, so you don't care about the crypto you have lost in gambling for the past two years?

Honestly it is fun betting with some crypto and trying to multiply it. I would equate the feeling to the be pretty much the same as if you are playing the slot machines. You win some you lose some you carry on, at the end of the day if you lose a little bit its not so bad. I gamble very little, so if anything i've probably broken even mostly haha
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is AI going to affect gambling in any way ? on: March 08, 2024, 04:51:31 AM
AI has impacted almost all online businesses to major extent. Do you feel that there will be major impact of AI technology on online gambling industry as well ?

I mean it will certainly help brick n mortar casinos and even online casionos finding trends and information much more quickly, probably most with complex calculations and probabilities but I would say that it will definitely have a much larger effect in the coming years as it progresses learns and implements certain language models - even ones that are more so geared towards gambling may help with certain types of bets etc.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Work Now May Not Work Tomorrow on: March 08, 2024, 04:48:35 AM
I always tell and advise my friends who are new to gambling to never look for a pattern in luck-based games because there is none even the ever-popular martingale is not a guarantee that you can find a pattern that will give you a continuous win.

I have a friend who boasted that he had found a pattern where it allowed him to win 10 successive bets on Mine Sweeper, he used that pattern two successive days with success but unfortunately for him on the third day those patterns are not working anymore even on the 4th and fifth days, now he is back on the drawing board again..

I told him that the house edge plays out and since this is luck based game what works now may not work tomorrow every day is a new session with new patterns

How about you have you at one time of your gambling experience experienced finding patterns that you think are effective and consistent only to find out later after several days that it's not working anymore..

And are you still looking for patterns that you think will work in the long run for you.

Unless you know how to count cards or something any types of patterns that someone thinks they have found is probably questionable but hey I'm sure anything is possible there. Luck definitely plays a major role. You definitely have to stay on your toes and diversify your betting tactics to see what sticks. I hope you fare well!
496  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can gambling sites provide proof of auditing that was done on their RTP? on: March 08, 2024, 04:46:44 AM

So, I know these audits are done on "brick n mortar" casinos, but what about the online gambling sites?

If these audits are done on online gambling sites, why are this not published online for transparency? It does not even have to be detailed reports, just a summary report of their findings.

I would venture to say that for the Brick N mortar casinos they are regulated with much more scrutiny but the online casinos are probably a lot more loose, proabably letting things slide or not double checking everything as much probably due to lack of regulations. There are so many small casinos now, I think that something like chip mixers are more on the radar but online gambling casinos even crypto ones are probably more so overlooked compared to something like that.
497  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the most you have ever won gambling? What is the most you have ever lost on: March 08, 2024, 04:42:25 AM
I've lost about $1k in a single night when I was still nee in online gambling.  It was with roulette which is a pure luck game. I was frustrated that time which made me bet continuously and ended up with nothing, was also equivalent with my 1 month salary back then which really made me struggle and became a lesson. I took a break from gambling and moved with sportsbetting. My biggest profit is $3k I guess, and that's for more than two months of having quite of a good win-lose ratio with my bets but I'm still happy with it. If we would look in a deeper context, you could really lose big amount in an instant and will more often win smaller amount that what you have lost. Luck is not something we have control of. Up until now, I am limiting the amount I am engaging in gambling to avoid the unwanted outcome. Winning is surely difficult therefore to be preventive of loss is important by means of self discipline and regulation. You could be lucky indeed and we don't have the same fate.

I have a friend of mine who won $50k in a single night with slots. Also a family friend who won the lottery with big reward. It is really envious however we know how gambling works. Not because other people won big amount, it will be guaranteed to all of us already. It depends on your luck, but pushing it won't be of any help.

Wow! 1k loss and 3k winnings, thats pretty good! Hopefully some of that luck from your friends will rub off on you! If you have been on a gambling streak it is always a good idea to step back for a time and reassess yourself, especially if you are depending on the income to live. I hope you win big buddy!
498  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: March 08, 2024, 04:38:34 AM
I imagine gambling like .there will be a device where in all people will be just a hologram, and be on the same table seeing other participants, because what we all see in the movies are coming in real-life like flying cars etc., so i think its easy for gambling to innovate.
That's going to happen someday, people that are inspired by sci-fi movies have a way of finding out ways to figure the things that they want to create, that's how it has been for thousands of years, innovators getting inspiration. I don't like your idea of flying cars though, have you heard of the 9/11 attacks? Flying would enable that event en masse, let's just stick with gambling for now, I think what the VR technology that we have right now, it's probably getting closer to us achieving that dream that many of us gamblers been wanting to for so long and another advantage of this is the fact that if physical casinos get involved with this technology, we might see more people from all over the globe playing in a physical casino without leaving at the comfort of their own home.

They have been talking about flying cars since before the Jetsons. The hologram idea has a Star Wars vibe to it that I like, and if you imagine that type of casino I think that ought to be interesting, I wonder what the view will be from the other end of that hologram though. If something like that does happen which I do also think it will, it will revolutionize gambling. Imagine poker tournaments with all the top guys just tuning in appering in their hologram as if they are in person.

I was scrolling through this section and I noticed that I hadn't really seen a thread that talks about the best wins and fatal losses.

Maybe if the loss part is still a sore subject just refrain from posting anything about that, I am just curious to see what people will say.

If you'd like to, please comment the most you have ever won gambling, please describe what you bet on, for how much, and the winnings (for fun tell the story).

I'd like to know how it changed your life (if that was the case), what did you do with your winnings? Would you have done anything differently now looking back? Do the same for the losses if you choose to.

As for me: The most i've ever won gambling is also the most i've ever lost gambling! Because it all happened at the same exact time. I actually have and old thread telling this story that I will dig up and post the link: Here.
