1. get images working .. or are they now?
2. release sling-qt for linux and source would be nice for those who wish to compile
3. get I2P integration, so we're not stuck with Tor

This isn't really anonymous unless your running through Tor - and even Tor has its problems !! I wouldn't trust it lately.
I2P would be nice, I know the dev mentioned something about adding that in.

Alright I got a question for dev. you delivered, gj gg. I don't understand how the pricing works, do i pick how many bitcoins I want for my item?
you serious. haha you should price it in sling not bitcoin. yea but it has to be a bitcoin equivalent. like i want this much btc for this item. like the equivalent because if i put up an item for a certain amount of sling and the item sells later on while sling is crashing then im fucked. Put a buy wall up on the market to stabilize it, until you get your item sold  |

I have provided brief overview / summary on how to use SlingRoad: Right now the market is empty, but categories will dynamically appear based on the listings. When a seller accepts a buy request, they create a multisig address and fund it with a security deposit equal to the item price. The buyer escrow locks and also funds it with the item price, then the seller can request payment and the buyer can pay, which creates a transaction that spends the multisig funds to the seller. There are a number of developments for Sling that I have in mind to implement, and take the project a step further, but I also want the community’s thoughts, and wishes for what they would like to see implemented into the project. We believe that working with the community, and keeping an active line of communication will be the most effective way of guaranteeing we develop something unique and generally useful. Not every market needs to be a market for questionable merchandise. Personally i'm sick of ebay's BS and paypal's fees and wouldn't mind selling perfectly legal items on that.
I guess I see your point for that. But let's be straight, why have people flag "illegal" items, when in some countries where sellers reside it might not be illegal but in others it may be. So you get majorities of countries more or less voting on what can be listed? That's ridiculous and absurd. What if a seller wanted to sell to a customer that resided in the same country where the product is not illegal - but yet it was flagged and then they can't do business? Really dumb, in my opinion. |

I mean seriously... with bitbay they want you to prove you're not going to sell "bad" stuff on another software/market (halo - which last i heard was some sort of weird obfuscated "opensoure" too) then you get permission to set up a market on bitbay and moderate things... Seriously ? ? ? ? ? That is really a messed up complicated shit-mess that nobody wants.. !!!! Who deems what is "bad" and "good"... especially in worldwide markets WHERE LAWS ARE NOT GLOBAL and NOT EVERYONE HAS TO ADHERE TO AUTHORITATIVE DICTATORSHIP TYPE OF GOVERNMENTS!!Here you can see what I mean, a quote from their site: Q: Are there any mechanisms to rid the BitBay marketplace of things like guns, pornagraphy, hitmen, etc?
A: Those things will not be possible in the main markets even though they are in fact decentralized. This is for two reasons. First in order to get into a white listed market, you need to prove your worth by doing deals in the Halo market. Users can also flag posts and when a certain number of flags is reached, the orders become invisible. Whitelists allow for trust systems. Syscoin and Bitbay have had working markets for awhile and they haven't even passed the $500k mark so let's be realistic here... Are their markets anonymous? There is no info they are on the websites. No they're not anonymous, and they are moderated by weird dev ... I think one is still closed source or he claims opensource but its obfuscated or some crap, no thanks ! In that case: $1m-$5m survey anyone? ? how is the sling market decentralized? first answer that. i.e. how will images and other items be stored? [I think] just plain text listings are stored on the blockchain for now... in the listing you could include links to hidden sites where more media content could be shown. That's how I'm understanding things *could* work. |
