Unbelievable at first they hired Hardik Pandya back and then they declared him as the captain. What will Rohit Sharma do will be the vice-captain or will he be only an opening batter for MI? I do not think this is the right strategy for the MI team considering the way Rohit captained the Indian team in the recently concluded World Cup and his success rate as a captain in IPL. MI expected it to be what happened when MSD gave his captaincy to Virat and played under him by guiding him on the field with his decisions related to play but still both of their style of captaining varies, but people accepted it because of national team, but this is franchise and fans are still unhappy about it and MI's followers numbers keep decreasing. |

Mumbai Indians have now appointed Hardik Pandya as the captain of the team for IPL 2024. Why do such unnecessary changes? Rohit Sharma has won the cup 5 times. Replacing him as a captain doesn't make any sense.
Mumbai Indians fans isn't happy with the decision either and they are showing it all over the social media.  Yesterday, it was 13.1M but now 12.8M and keep decreasing, but it will eventually fade away and myself surprised with the decision as well and how can team management replace the most successful captain who brought 5 IPL trophies, at least they should done it when they are on the high note. But from cricketing point of view it makes sense because they are looking long term captain and Hardik has been the captain for team India in this format, so MI took this into consideration and made this move. |

Huge news from IPL front, Hardik Pandya to lead the Mumbai Indians next year [1].
I am not sure how Hardick will fit into Mumbai Indians. They already have one pace-bowling allrounder in the form of Romario Shepherd. And also I need to see in which position he is going to bat, since MI have strong middle order batsmen such as Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma and Dewald Brevis. Also, they have a very pace-heavy bowling attack which includes Behrendorff, Tendulkar, Bumrah and Madhwal. At present the only full-time spinners are Kumar Kartikeya and Piyush Chawla. If one of them gets injured, then they will be dependent on Shams Mulani. Tilak's position can be swapped for Pandya, I don't think he's as good as Pandya. Pandya can also bat lower down the order as he does in odis but I don't it'll happen. I don't think MI will drop Tilak Varma for any reason because he had been their savior in 2023 edition and MI back hard the Indian talents more than others so even though they acquired Romario Shepherd from trade it doesn't mean he will be their first preference for the all round position and I see him as a backup in case if someone is injured and forced to replace. |

I was not aware of CBDC in China, but if their CBDC is involved with international transactions and watching our PM be in "flight mode" resumption after the pandemic here, possible they will try to replicate the same here and are involved in talks about the same.
China launched their CBDC in 2020 itself, and they are way different from democratic so they can implement what they want and people will be left with no other options, but India is democratic, and they need to take diplomatic approach no matter what are the changes are being implemented but if It's for good then people will welcome it. @pakhitheboss, how exactly the CBDCs are used for international trades? They are doing trades with Russia using Yuan and I don't know which other countries are accepting yuan for cross border trades. |

Surya, Rinku are pretty much guaranteed in T20 wc squad, unless injury or something else unfortunate happens.
Mukesh Kumar may make it as well, even in wc, imo, he was better choice than Krishna, but thankfully need never arose to play in playing XI.
I do feel K L Rahul will be part of the team after his keeping and good knock in the world cup. I'm hearing rumours KL asking management to bat down the order after having good run batting at this position in wc. He did good well there, as we have seen in his inning of making fastest hundred in wc by Indian, but he did struggled there to hit the shots after just coming to the crease. So, it's not really a viable option in T20 as you'll be often required to hit moment you come to the crease. Let's see, before wc we have ipl, if he changes his batting position there, we'll get to see how he does. He could have competition from Pant too, since he's back, for both wk and his batting position if he changes to middle order batter, again, much of this will on Pant's performance in ipl too. Pant less likely to make it to the next year WC squad unless he did extraordinary in IPL which is less likely to possible after a long break from injury. KL definitely has a guaranteed spot in the squad because Ishan Kishan and KL are the only wicket keepers we have at the moment and don't foget little dynamite also will be looking to fit in if he gets a chance, so there is going to be lot of headache for the selection committee but it will all boils down in the middle of IPL season. |

I was expecting some change today, especially expecting replacement for Arshdeep, but India played with the same team.
Well, there is no replacement bowler for pacers in the Indian squad and Deepak Chahar seems to be not travelling with the squad for personal reasons. I thought Rutu might replace Jaiswal, but he did well on the other hand Gill failed again and his inconsistency run continues and ton from Skipper it's a special knock. Now coming to the second Innings, SA lost two early wickets, so India got good opportunity to tie this series. |

Furthermore with Virat and Rohit future also not confirmed in this format it does makes sense the selectors want to try something different hence we should be patient while they continue their experiment.
Yes, they are going with trial and error method, but the approach should be right too not just completely blatant, in my opinion. There are lot of rumors going on media that Rohit and Virat may not be selected into XI for T20 WC but its not realistic and how can a selection committee can drop player who is the top run scorer in WC 2023 and hit man is in second place if I am not wrong, so there is no way they will not be selected unless the players asked them they don't want to. |

I would not say that the right combination was missed because the players who were included in the squad are always good players and they have done well in the last matches and also in the last IPL they have performed very well and considering that performance they have been included in the XI. If India's opening two batsmen had got runs, we might not have thought that India could not field their best XI. But there is no guarantee that if the two players who were dropped in the opening pair were replaced by other players and they would not have been dismissed for zero runs. The batsmen that India relied on in the second T20I against South Africa may rely on the same batsmen in the third T20 as well.
You can't build a perfect team with XI good player, it needs to be XI right players with right combinations for example if both the openers are having the style of hit or miss then it's never going to work unless one of the player has been very consistent in doing that for example hitman who rarely fails but Gill haven't been consistent in T20s while Jaiswal is going to hit from the ball one that is why I felt one stable opener with other attacking opener will be the perfect combo. |

Comparing Google to Indian government? That is a way longshot comparison to make.  However I might be proven wrong and you might end up being correct. But with the UPI system being already popular, I dont see how a e-Rupee is able to take over and squish in between. Not literal comparison but BHIM launched way before Google pay came into the market but it's just not promoted in the right way by the government and these tech companies saw the opportunity to fill in the void and swooped in to Indian market. Now the situations changed and every bank has their own UPI app so does erupee app too that means bank also will encourage their users to use it. |

Indian bowling attack does not need bowlers like Arshdeep Singh he has not been at his best after the T20WC. That guy gave away 31 runs in his 2 overs which is way above what is expected from a seamer in T20 format.
Left arm swing bowlers are rare breeds, so I would still back Arshdeep but he needs some kind of guidance about his line and length that is where he is lacking in the recent days, but he did pretty well when defending few runs in the final overs of IPL. And I am also concerned about Gill's consistency on T20I and looking at the record he only made 30+ run three time in the last 15 innings and its not a good sign either so he should not take his spot for granted and if he fails then Ruturaj will swap him in no time for that opening slot because Rutu can give more balance with someone like Hitman at the other end but let's see how the selection committee thinks. |

Although there is something different with the approach of Indian batters but the way these guys hit ball in boundaries is more than thier singals or twos. That is how these guys maintain a good strike rate as a T20 batters.
Congrats to Rinku but it went for a losing cause. Talking about low strike rate of spin bowling its still too early and Indian batsmen will eventuall get used to it over the time. Singles and twos are very important in 20 over or 50 over format because that will disturb the bowlers more if someone is capable of doing it consistently and that is why Virat is standing out from any other batsmen from Indian team. |

First of all, it is very difficult to beat South Africa on South African soil. Whether the curator builds batting wickets or bowling support wickets in South African conditions the South African players have the most advantage considering the conditions. India's opening pair did not perform well, it is a demerit point for India but the middle order batsmen provided enough support that's why India's total crossed 180. India may have already started working on why India lost in the second T20I which we can see reflected in the third T20I. Although it is a three-match T20I series against South Africa with one abandoned due to rain, India have no chance of winning the series against South Africa, only a chance of leveling the series.
If it was a full 20 over contest, the comparison would be fair but fewer overs the edge it always goes for the chasing side and I knew it when it started poring, so I decided to stop watching the game and only track the score once in a few minutes. I think India missed the right combination because I didn't expect Ruturaj to be missed out because he can give the stability while the batsmen from other end can go for killing then in the end he can make it up well but both openers gone for zero still India managed to put very decent total then it shows how good the pitch was for batting. |

I would day still it's unfair that Maxwell haven't been awarded that honor because what we saw on that day may never gonna happen in the history of cricket, and he did it even with cramps all over his body and he couldn't do anything than just swing the bat only with hand action not the body along with it. Anyway, Head also joined an elite record club too by making it to player of the match on semi-final and final of world cup matches. |

NZ plays fewer tests overall so I think most of the time they use him strategically. He's not their first choice spinner in the subcontinent but he makes it into the team when they play in SENA countries because the likes of Ish Sodhi and Azaz Patel are pretty much useless in SENA condition and on top of that Satner is handy with the bat so he gets in as a spin all rounder. Having said that, I believe in the future Satner's competition in SENA conditions would be Rachin Ravindra if the new guy Rachin can improve his bowling in Red ball cricket.
Rachin Ravindra could be a pretty useful batting all rounder but he need to bring variations if he wants to match the santner's bowling skills and talking about the choice of spinners he could be in any pitches whether its SENA or subcontinent because he got pace too and on 4th and 5th day he could be a dangerous bowler to face. |
