481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you running your BTC wallet on Linux? Why? on: February 26, 2023, 04:00:59 PM
Can someone tell me the most important part why Linux OS is better to run Bitcoin wallet than Windows OS?

Security?

As tranthidung already said, maybe because most people use windows and most hacking tools are made for windows. Linux OS is targeted less by hackers. Still, you have to be careful. I don't use Linux yet because I don't know if I will be able to use all the software on a different OS that I am currently using. I can easily find free software for my Windows platform.

Surely There must be similar software for the Linux platform as well. But, I have to learn new things. Because of this fear, I never tried Linux OS. But, hacking, phishing increasing day by day. You have to be careful before you click on anything. I don't know if I will move to Linux or not. Maybe I have to.

Oh wow!
Congratulations m2017! I don't know how you are feeling right now. But I can imagine your feelings. Surprisingly, you created this thread a year ago to celebrate your Sr. member rank up. In a year, You managed to earn another 750 merits. It's impressive. Sometimes your merit makes say how valuable you are. I believe only helpful posts deserve merits.

There are a lot of members who have been here for ages, and they are still not able to get Full member rank. (I have been here for a couple of years too, But I was inactive) I haven't seen your many posts, maybe because we are interested in different forum sections. But, I would like to appreciate your contribution and Congratulate you.
483  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to buy or sell? on: February 25, 2023, 04:05:18 PM
I would say, Forget those patterns.
It depends on what you are holding and Depends on your position as well. There are two types of crypto holders: long-term holders and day traders. Each type has another two classes. Bitcoin and Shitcoiner. Now please tell me which one you are.

If you are not a long-time holder, When you buy the coins, You must set a target that you will sell at some point and how much profit you are looking for. I don't know day traders' strategy, but the only thing is never sold at lose. Wait for the perfect time and sell it even with a small profit. Wait for a little more for a dip and buy again to sell in profit again. This is the life of day traders or short-term traders. If you are shit-coiner, Nobody knows when your coin will pump, make your own decision if you want to hold it or not. It's up to you.

If you are a Bitcoiner and long-term holder. There is no sell time. Just accumulate your sats. Do DCA every week. Buy less sats when it pumps and buy more when it's on a dip. Wait for bull run and you will make good money.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first pizza purchase using Bitcoin in lightning network on: February 25, 2023, 03:45:37 PM
I never used a lightning network. Thanks for mentioning one of the lightning network wallet names. I didn't know there were wallets for lightning network. I thought only whoever owns the node can do the transaction. My first Bitcoin usage was on an online casino website. But I didn't purchase anything with bitcoin before 2021. I bought some kind of subscription from a reseller and he was accepting bitcoin. I paid him via coinbase transaction. After that, I bought many things from online using Bitcoin as payment method. Not all of them are companies, Some resellers accept bitcoin. But, I will try lightning network. Not sure if they will accept lightning network or not. Let's give it a try.
485  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: who would you trust? on: February 25, 2023, 04:53:14 AM
Since strategy are always changing in trading, what is the relevance of experience? Who would you trust the most for trading tips,
An old trader who has had better days and mostly still relevant because they have a strong reputation for the fact that he has been trading for a while, or would you trust a new trader who is hot in the market and fresh with new strategies?

If you are talking about trading in this forum, I won't trust new traders with a fresh background. There shouldn't be any strategy in trading. Any tricks shouldn't be used in trading. Always use escrow if you are dealing with a new buyer or seller with a new forum account. Suppose a buyer or seller has a good reputation in the forum and has already received plenty of feedback from others. In that case, I may consider going up front if the amount is insignificant.

Still, I would suggest using escrow. Make sure the account you are dealing with is not hacked. If he shared any Bitcoin address before, Ask him to sign a message. Even with escrow, there were a lot of big scams that happened. So, you always have to be careful.
486  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 24, 2023, 04:49:17 PM
Someone met me and we were had a conversation on trade and he told me that he has used all he has been saving for trading and asked me if he can make something out of it and I asked him if he had any knowledge about it and he said no.

My question is can someone that doesn't have any knowledge about trading and how the system work can he or trade and be profitable in it?

The answer is simple as hell. No. Trading is not rocket science. But, it's not easy as well. If you know that you cannot drive a car, why would you buy a car in the first place? You have learned at some point if you want to drive a car. So, why not learn how to drive first and then buy a car?

Well, you can learn how to drive even after you buy the car but who knows? You may hit your new car during the learning process. So, it would be better if you learn first and then do it practically. There are a lot of trading platforms available that offer demo balances to try their platform. Your friend should try them first and learn how to trade. When he will see that he is confident, he can try with real money.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 24, 2023, 04:02:11 PM
This is precisely what others will agree with. Yeah, We love Bitcoin. That doesn't mean we must support it blindly, and not think of another side. Also, I believe this slogan means being for the financial side, not social or political.

In this case, Fixing the world means fixing the world's money system.
Surely bitcoin won't be able to fix everything outside of the financial system.
If we use that perfect motto, does it sound like "Too good to be true"?

Things are "too good to be true" will cause doubtful thinking in people who receive that message. We want to expand Bitcoin adoption but don't want to build barriers that prevent people to join with Bitcoin community.

To be honest, yes. It sounds too good to be true.
We, the people, don't build any barriers. It's the Government. I don't know why. But I can assume why. The banking business is one of the top income sources of the Government. Banking systems are here to stay. The more users and money people transact, the more money they will make, and the Government will get money from there. At the same time, The Government gets nothing from Bitcoin transactions.

So, why would they give you anything for free when they can profit from you? Think twice; This is one of the reasons why the government always builds barriers that prevent people from joining the Bitcoin Community. Still, Look at the forum, look at the social media. Whoever knows the benefits of bitcoin loves it.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A time is coming on: February 24, 2023, 12:36:52 PM
Bitcoin is not cryptocurrency and the cryptocurrency market is dominated by Bitcoin.

Bitcoin IS Cryptocurrency. Bitcoin indeed dominates the cryptocurrency market. If it's not a cryptocurrency, How it will dominate the market? If you are not a player, You won't be able to dominate other players. Just like we all are Human. Some of us Man and some of us women. That's it.

Bitcoin dominance is 42.2% today but its impacts are bigger. Total dominance of altcoins is high than their real values because thousand of shitcoins were created from thin air.

Bitcoin has always dominated altcoins from the beginning of its journey. On Sunday, Nov 17- 2013, Bitcoin Dominance was 96.33%. In the last ten years, Bitcoin lost 54.13% Dominance, which will continue. The current dominance is 42%.

Bitcoin communities are solid, but most crypto (altcoins) communities are weak and vulnerable to crashes.
That's true. Still, People will invest in Shitcoins in the hope of getting rich in a short time. Some of them will be rich, and most of the others will lose everything. Let's hope people will understand the difference between bitcoin and shitcoins.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can Bitcoin afford to buy on: February 24, 2023, 12:22:42 PM
Many people are confused of Bitcoin and mostly mother's having double mindset of what bitcoin can buy. But i wasn't bias on the question because i know that Bitcoin is a digital currency and it can buy things for the country that approve it as a legal tender, and with Bitcoin profit you can buy things for shop's that accepts bitcoin for monetary transaction's. So i want to ask this question generally so that i will have more insight of what bitcoin can buy using Bitcoin without converting to fiat currency before making purchase.

If the seller accepts Bitcoin as a payment method, You can buy anything. But, if the seller doesn't accept bitcoin, You can't buy anything using Bitcoin. There are a lot of famous companies that already accept Bitcoin as a payment method. According to 99bitcoins.com, these companies already accept bitcoin as a payment method.

Wikipedia, Microsoft, AT&T, Burger King, KFC, Overstock, Subway, Twitch, Pizza Hut, Miami Dolphins, Dallas Mavericks, Virgin Galactic, Norwegian Air, Namecheap, Cheap Air, Gyft, New Egg, The Internet Archive, The Pirate Bay, 4Chan, Mega.nz, Express VPN, and AMC. Those are big Companies. Apart from those, there are a lot of other small companies that accept Bitcoin as well.

490  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance's 98% Dominance: Should We Be Worried? on: February 24, 2023, 11:43:04 AM
Interesting. Does it mean the report OP shows is incorrect?
I would be happy if it's incorrect. There should always be a healthy competitor. Otherwise, they can force us to do whatever they want. Suppose there are no other exchanges, and you must only use Binance. This is the scariest thing I can imagine. I am not saying their service is terrible. But, Not having any competitors will make them arrogant, and slowly, they won't take care of any problems. They will do whatever they want, and I won't have any choices. An Exchange alone shouldn't have more than 45% trading volume. Otherwise, they will control the market and cannot do anything against them.
I agree that it's definitely not that easy to consider the situation we are in right now, it's not that easy because we are talking about bull period and during bull period too many people are blinded by the potential profits and not the losses that they could make.

It is not an easy decision to suddenly stop everything and focus on the potential crash that may come, and I know you suggest that people should be careful about it, but it's not an easy thing to do at all. Just consider 2021 when we dropped from 64k to 29k and then went back up to 68k, people are just not sure if we will crash, or we will have a rebound or not, so it becomes quite tough decision.

I am not sure what you are talking about. What situation we are in right now? What did you mean by stop everything? I was talking about the trading volume on Binance and Centralized exchanges. But, here you are talking about bull run and crash. I am not sure if you quoted my post by mistake. But, Your reply doesn't make sense to me why are you saying this against my words?

The 2021 ATH Pump was genuine because, at that time, a lot of people were in quarantine, and they were thinking about how they could make money. A lot of new people entered the market and invested.

when 26k?

Right after 25K? No? Just Kidding.

Well, We have tested 25K four times in last seven days.
In my opinion, Bull is getting ready. Not sure how long we have to wait, But no one can stop the Bull.  Wink

494  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance's 98% Dominance: Should We Be Worried? on: February 23, 2023, 05:25:24 PM
If you don't want to compromise anonymity and privacy, there are non-kyc alternatives. But if you want to get top-tier service, then you have to compromise something. Anyway, everyone has to compromise something in order to achieve what he wants. At the moment it's reality and it can't be changed and yeah, I know that elites do all kind of shit through regulated companies.

We all doing it because Binance is too famous at the moment. Almost all famous exchanges required KYC. I don't know any Non-KYC exchanges that are reliable. In my country, almost 90% of people use Binance to buy and sell Bitcoin and other crypto. Because of that, we had to compromise privacy. Bitcoin users are supposed to be anonymous. But, when it comes to cash out and buying bitcoins, you have fewer choices. In fact sometimes no choices other than KYC-ed Exchanges.

Some Non-KYC exchanges offer BTC to USDT and others as well. But, they do not support local fiat money. If you want to buy bitcoin with USDT, You can do it from Non-KYC-ed exchanges. But, When it comes to buying/selling bitcoin for fiat. KYC-ed exchanges are the only choice.
495  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traffic will jam if bitcoin pumps on: February 23, 2023, 05:03:47 PM
Does the title match your posts?
I am not sure. Maybe due to the language barrier.
Who said Bitcoin doesn't have a strong foundation? Already millions of people use bitcoin and hold it. Day by day, people are learning more about bitcoin. Whoever knows in-depth details about bitcoin and its features. They are still using it, and it's spreading over the world. Nobody knows when the pumps will start. Everyone just predicts and we do the same as well.

Thanks for all that replied. Will check those out.

I don't even think I got a warning from my exchange when they removed the deposit functions a year or two back.

Huh? They are on exchanges? Broh! Never hold your coins on an exchange.

Quote
Its crazy how out of hundred exchanges or so, only 4 are the only ones that still support it.

Only four of them are listed on the BestChange website. There are a lot of more available exchanges which still support Omni USDT. You just have to search for it and find it. You have to be careful when you search for it. You may get scammed by fake exchanges. Whatever exchanges I suggested, Please do your own research before you make any transaction there.
497  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FIX THE MONEY - FIX THE WORLD #Bitcoin on: February 23, 2023, 06:36:56 AM
I love Bitcoin but I don't love that slogan. Bitcoin is Bitcoin and its most important mission is giving people freedom of what they own (be their own banks) and better if they invest smartly they will get financial freedom too.

I disagree with statements to over emphasize missions of Bitcoin. It is not here to fix everything on Earth. It is unable to fix local or global economics or social, politics problems and other issues in other areas.

To make Bitcoin more friendly with the crowd, I don't think we should spread that statement that can makes side effects.

Well said, bro!
This is precisely what others will agree with. Yeah, We love Bitcoin. That doesn't mean we must support it blindly, and not think of another side. Also, I believe this slogan means being for the financial side, not social or political. A simple word can be used for various things. Take "Script," for example. The same word is used by movie directors, which means the story and plot of the movie. When it comes to a web developer, He means it as web application script.

In this case, Fixing the world means fixing the world's money system.
Surely bitcoin won't be able to fix everything outside of the financial system. But, It will help in many cases, such as privacy. People won't know how much money you have; no one can search for it until you let them know. Banks and fiat money are here to stay at the end of the world. If there is no one to rule, What is the benefit of being a king? Bitcoin holders are the Kings.
498  Economy / Reputation / Re: Multiple account : SCORPION FINANCE Bounty campaign Manager on: February 23, 2023, 06:16:35 AM
Oh, Now, typical bounty hunters become bounty managers as well? I am curious how they did it while there are a lot of reputed bounty managers waiting for jobs, and there is a lot of competition as well. I believe those projects are scams who doesn't care about reputations. Having multiple accounts is not bad if they do not violate any rules and don't cheat. I didn't find one of them cheating on campaigns. But, since they broke the ban evading rules, You may report them for ban evading.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Got some old Tether on the OMNI Bitcoin chain - anyway to spend? on: February 23, 2023, 05:49:45 AM
Well, You can try Best change partners.
https://www.bestchange.com/tether-to-tether-erc20.html
Four exchanges currently support USDT Omni to USDT trc20 at Bestchange list.
You can try https://simpleswap.io/swap/tether as well. But the fees are a little bit high. You will get $987.99 Per thousand.
https://changenow.io/currencies/tether-omni/tether-trc20?amount=1000 Seems good as well. It will charge a minimum of $4 per thousand dollars. Now it's up to you which one you want to use.
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance's 98% Dominance: Should We Be Worried? on: February 23, 2023, 04:50:33 AM
According to what I saw on Coingecko, I do not think Binance has up to 98% of trading volume, but we all know that it dominates all other exchanges.

According to what I saw on Coingecko:

As of today, we track 600 crypto exchanges with a total 24h trading volume of $105 Billion, a 58.8% change in the last 24 hours. Currently, the 3 largest cryptocurrency exchanges are Coinbase Exchange, KuCoin, and Kraken. Total tracked crypto exchange reserves currently stands at $110 Billion

Binance 24 hours trading volume is $25,991,400,403.

If $105 billions is the total on all exchanges and Binance only accounts for approximately $26 billion. In percentage, that is just approximately around 25.8% not 98%.

Interesting. Does it mean the report OP shows is incorrect?
I would be happy if it's incorrect. There should always be a healthy competitor. Otherwise, they can force us to do whatever they want.
