481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: February 10, 2024, 08:11:57 PM
Manchester City managed to defeat Everton at home with Haaland's goals.City managed to play a dominant game against Everton, but I think City didn't want to push too hard because of the champions league match to be played in the week, otherwise they played with the potential to score more goals against Everton.
I wouldn’t call 2:0 and a game where Manchester City dominated mange. These guys defeated Everton but not with a huge score line. Haaland registered two goals to his name which means his actually back to his scoring ways and it’s yet another needed 3 points for Pep. We would soon be seeing a terrifying and title contending Manchester City in the EPL once more.

Wolves is one team that I didn’t expect to lose todays game but it’s very surprising how they lost to Brentford in a home game. This team has always been soft when they play mid tier teams but the story is very different when playing with a top tier team.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 09, 2024, 11:35:46 PM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.
Have a regular and sustainable source of income,
Have plans for every money you’ve got and
Redefine your purpose for gambling.

Maybe it would start with you building a mindset that, it’s not entirely good for you. This will gradually push you into defense mood or should I say, safe mood. You wouldn’t want to gamble because you want to make money, you wouldn’t see the need to gamble every other day.
You will only gamble because the opportunity presented itself and you just want to have that fun in that moment with nothing more.
You’ll find yourself in charge of your gambling habit.
483  Economy / Economics / Re: Opportunities During Economic Downturns? on: February 09, 2024, 11:30:00 PM
Are there any potential benefits that can arise from inflation, recession, or economic downturns? As they say, necessity is the mother of invention.
Obviously this happens.
Coming home to a nation like mine, I recall having noted people in my locality taking advantage of the various occurrences that might have come with some adversities to benefit themselves.

On a global scale, the Covid-19 situation reminded us of our hygiene and created a market for hygienic items like hand sanitizers, nose mask and the rest of them.

Lack of cash in my locality pushed for a more cashless policy and a new brand of business like the buying of cash from people that uses point of purchase or sales machine. Where you just get your debit card run on their device, your given your value in cash and you pay a fee for the service.

For those who are able to look, they can see the opportunity there and utilize it. The issue is, don’t use it for an opportunity to exploit the people.
484  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor people need solution now on: February 09, 2024, 11:18:30 PM
Leave your goverment currency and issue your own Community money.
Good initiative, the police will catch you because you're issuing your own currency when your government didn't accept your currency as legal tender.
If that be what OP is suggesting, it’s a crime against the state and one that wouldn’t be handled with pity. It’s a betrayal of your flag and you would go in for it but, this isn’t what OP is actually saying if I understood OP correctly.

OP didn’t mean the persons from these producing part of the world having to create and issue a currency but, see the value of their products for a currency. Actually selling their products at a price that gives them great comfort and not follow any preset exchange rate.

If only that could work but nope. Don’t forget, the government is into farming too, giving out loans and creating policies about them, carrying out genetic engineering to get better breeds of food and cash crops. Having standard for import and exports. So long as you leave within the state, you must always be bounded by its rules.
485  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The need to acquire an asset now on: February 09, 2024, 11:08:58 PM

Not all assets are an investment, hope you know that?

We happen to misunderstand these things because of the part of the world we live in or come from. Where we hardly pay taxes for the things we own, in fact, we don’t even pay at all. We just enjoy what we’ve archived and that’s it but, not all assets serves for an investment. Some are a liability. Once you’re paying for maintenance, paying taxes on them and they aren’t fetching you any money in return, it’s a liability.
Arguably, owning a house has been put in this category. Maybe not having to own a house down here but, in developed societies.
It saves you from having to pay rent but, you still get to be taxed on it and the many amenities you enjoy.

That’s why Bitcoin suits for a proper investment at this time, it’s not being taxed except declared in some instances.

Meanwhile, it pays to archive goals for a lifetime, I wouldn’t say asset but, money fetching asset. Perhaps if people really view opportunities to be once in a lifetime and some means to save guard there future, they would be sure to make good use of them when they eventually find it.
486  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How dollar rise take affect the prices of things? on: February 09, 2024, 10:56:28 PM

This no be typical question way concern the forum but still, we get corner for the forum as Nigerians and this na something way Dey affect us so, e no bad to talk about am.

No be lie say, there have been a dollarization of our economy so tay, our currency don fall for ground yakata. E don turn one means to spend big and if you Dey deal in dollar, e go con look as though, na you Dey run the town. The matter just cast and e start from the top con enter the bottom.

Now where the matter spoil be say, we no Dey value made or produced in Nigeria. You for think say na for imported products e end o but, e Dey materialize for we everyday and even local products via say,
Mama way Dey sell maggi, e go like carry money way e realize buy salt. Mama way Dey sell salt, e go like use the stock fish. Brother way Dey sell stock fish, e go like use the money buy body spray, wrist watch, phone and so on. Na from there the money Dey grow, from the person way Dey sell imported items. E go increase am to meet up en sales. Person way wan buy from am, e go increase the service or product e dey sell to use generate money way e go use buy from person way dey import items and just like that, the trend continues.
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 08, 2024, 11:57:30 PM
The South African team were good enough and that made the game become so tough for the super eagle to win, and coupled with the fact that Victor Osimhen was disallowed, and this made the players became a bit demoralized to continue playing because it was few minutes away from the 90th minutes time to finish.

Now two same group stage team contenders happened to be meeting in the final game, where the Super eagle team has more upper hand to lift this trophy because they won Ivory Coast during their group stage game.
South Africa played good football, they had several terrifying through ball and their speed always kept them ahead of to get the ball but surprisingly, they didn’t get to utilize any of them and finished. Thanks to the Nigerian defense which were just good at their job. After South Africa got their equalizer, they came at Nigeria in such a way that, they could have ended the game before the final whistle but, Nigeria managed it.
I think they lost it with the lots of confidence they had in themselves for the penalty. They were just concentrated on holding the game to a shootout because of the confidence in their goalkeeper Williams but, that little underestimation on the super eagles is what proved to be there downfall.
It’s Nigeria in the finals and they’ve got the third place to play for. Still good for them, perhaps they could win Congo.
488  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be the Person [poster] You Should Be on: February 08, 2024, 11:51:03 PM
Because this forum is the most active discussion space for many of the things raised, I want to say make good use of every discussion. There is no need to write or express something that is beyond our ability to make it appear to others that we are great while what is conveyed is misleading or substantially wrong.
you have to accept it the way it is - people will always find a way to manipulate things that are particularly outta their control.
I almost laughed my guts out when I saw this statement.

It’s just human nature to attempt things. Even when they know it’s likely not going to end well, they hope to bang on the fact that, it’s their first time, forgiveness of noted would be in place but, hope on grace not to be found. I wouldn’t blame anyone for this though, it’s just people leveraging where they are and their amount of freedom. Also, not everyone gets to follow the rules, it’s simple variety in human behavior.

Despite this fact, we still would see those that hopes to try and not stray from presets on a platform and sometimes, they get the rewards that follow.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 08, 2024, 11:39:29 PM
This was how I found FreeWallet, I use this to store some Bitcoin, it was easier for me because it required only email login and password, I stumbled on some that ask me to write down recovery seed but it was stressful for me, stupid me, since Free wallet sync with my email I thought that's all that matters and I lost it all, can't log into my account anymore, as if Freewallet swapped my password and log in info.
Oh no! You just might have done this to yourself mate, it’s not entirely about you not having to get yourself a hardware wallet or saving your coins on some cold storage but, having to choose custodian wallet as against non custodian just because, it doesn’t require an email to be synchronized with or for the fact that it requires of you to write down your seed phrase.
You ought to understand that what seems so easy to use could have security flaws as well.

Haven’t been here for sometime, it would have been a wise decision to have switched from using custodian wallet to a non custodian wallet. Perhaps you got more comfortable with the wallet you’ve built your Bitcoin journey about but, should you value your coin any more, your sense of security should have kicked in. Maybe it was your part to learn the hard way and sure you did learn.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your response in placing live bets with a friend at a live sporting matches on: February 07, 2024, 11:03:18 PM
Question:who has been in this scenario before? And how did you managed with your emotions then?
I try to avoid placing a bet with a close friend in this way, it doesn’t matter if your a patriotic citizen or a fan to a team, I don’t just like the idea of having to bet between myself and my friend. It often don’t seem so comforting should I happen to win and have to take my friends money (which is now mine by virtue of having won the bet) for myself. In most case, I always tend to give it right back, at least my point of prediction have been proven but,

There isn’t anything strange about this while gambling or watching a game. This is the very reason why, you don’t have two contrasting fans positioned together in the stadium. In fact, you’ve got a steward at every close proximity of contrasting fans because, there would always be grievances and when the other fan is happy, you are sad and that could result in conflict.
Don’t be surprised should your friend hold a grudge over this but then, it was a bet and I hope you guys are really matured about it.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 07, 2024, 10:54:10 PM

The game was indeed a final in a semi-final. Nigeria and South Africa have more or less been long time rivals and today's encounter was fierce. The both teams weren't ready to let go even though fairly the South African team made it a really tough battle and they were ahead in the possession too.
It was the first time in a long while we witnessed such intense battle in the AFCON contest.

You could speak of it to have been a final in a semi final over and over again and you would always be right. What a game it was, you have all the thrills and emotions that comes with a final and being a patristic citizen or a fan of either team, the adrenaline rush is sure to be all over your system.
When VO9 went down in the Bafana Bafana goal keeper box and Ekong converted it, it felt as though all the game was won. Nigeria have been known to capitalize on these head starts but, South Africa ensured it wasn’t the same. Having to win and convert their penalty, followed up with some serious pressure on the Nigerian side, I mean me, it was just thrilling.
Even the penalty shoots, it didn’t feel like a 50:50, the South Africans seemed to want the penalty shoots and the Nigerians wasn’t in for that but, eventually won in a shoot out and is now in the finals. What a game it was indeed and congrats to the super eagles. They did it this time.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 07, 2024, 05:57:41 PM
It’s been an interesting watch, the duel between the Super Eagles and the Bataan Bafana of South Africa, while supper eagles might have controlled most of the game, I see them to be making a very critical error in allowing the South Africans to have those clear chances from a through ball. Though they’ve managed to defend it quite efficiently, it’s always a matter of time before the mistake comes up and South Africa isn’t the team you would hope not to take those chances when presented.
Shots for both team have been 100% on target, this tells you that they could break the barriers that are withholding them from taking those chances.

While I expect the super eagles to work on these defensive errors of not maintaining a good high line and allowing the Bafana Bafana to take advantage of them, they need to be more forward and create more chances too.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A student investing in bitcoin? on: February 07, 2024, 05:03:11 PM
According to one of your earlier posts you already invested in bitcoin in the past but then had to sell it so I am not sure why you are talking like you never bought bitcoin before and know nothing about it. An obvious answer is merit fishing but I am curious to hear your answer.  Wink

At that time I was in college and knew about Bitcoin since that time I saved my college stipend money and invested it in Bitcoin and gradually saved fractions of good Bitcoins there. When I collected and invested my stipend, Bitcoin was at a much lower value, and I made a lot of profit at this point. I might have made more profit if I had held it longer, but I bought the thing by selling bitcoins for one of my essential tasks
Some times, these magicians forget that they’ve got several audience and after having performed several tricks under their sleeves, the audience gets to deduct a few.
It’s obvious this user forgets his own past performance and here is the user yet again, trying to fool the forum. It doesn’t just tell tales of your intent @OP, it also speaks of your person.

My advice would be, ensure you’re learning the skills that would help you in your Bitcoin journey and gathering the most necessary information that would prove ever useful in multiple contexts. Don’t be in a rush to expose yourself as there are more than a thousand pair of eyes here to observe and brains to deduce what’s going on.

Nice one taking a note of this one Rikafip.
494  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I actually doing it right? on: February 07, 2024, 04:41:03 PM

One thing you failed to realize is that,
You ain’t here to impress no one but to better yourself. It doesn’t really have to be just about your Bitcoin or crypto investment choices and how you manage it but, your life as well. Without asking specific questions as in OP about how to merit fish because, this is just how I interpret it, you @OP having to try and correlate your post to merit in a ratio, that’s a statistics available on BPIP.org but, doesn’t really work in a particular way, you just have to build yourself to be a better writer.

Do your thing and when your not getting the feedback your expecting, be more conserved and ensure each time you have to say something, you see the utmost necessity in it and have it written in such a way that, it’s easy to understand. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be a little figurative in your writings but be on point.

Don’t make your posts yo be particulate on merit, these tricks are easily discovered and distanced.

Guardiola is curse with winning mentality and I have not seen any manager that comes close to how he won matches even when you don't expect them to win.
He's one of the best active managers but it's not like he stand alone when it comes to strategies on winning. There are also other capable managers like Klopp who could win the Premier League with that Man City money and players.
Without disputing the professionalism of Pep, I would have liked to have him manage a smaller team and see how he fairs. Like, I'm so into the guy, his mentioned how his been able to transfer that unto his players, like you can't come to the Manchester City team and not have that requirement of you to put in your best and absolute best but nothing more. That's just how you get to see the team excel. Anything short and your on the bench and none of his players want to do that.
Surprisingly,  the team wasn't at its best when injury rocked the team. Manchester City struggled but they can't be way too far on the table.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 06, 2024, 11:17:14 PM
I don't get anything extraordinary from winning gambling, because I've never had a big win, I'm not an active gambler so of course I can't expect much from gambling results, besides when I win it feels extraordinary for me.
My position exactly. I think in my early ages of gambling, I had the impression that big wins are possible. Yeah, people actually make this b8g wins but for some reason, I'm not one of them and it has made me loss hope for ay big win coming my way. I don't even have to gamble with the intention of making a big win. I go with it using a stake that is almost worth nothing to me and you can be sure the winning wouldn't be much as well.
That tells you, your surely not doing anything with it already. I haven't had to think of doing anything notable with my wins, maybe just use it for some money to spend for the time being, lavish money and that's it,

498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My first Bitcoin on: February 06, 2024, 09:29:18 PM
Welcome to the crypto world. Regardless of the amount, it is important to start.
Regardless of the amount you say… i think $110 is a good enough amount for a start. At least, this is someone that just started earning 5 figures for a pay grade even though the user didn’t specify on what currency and having to use $110 out of it to buy Bitcoin is a good place to start.
Hope the user gets to continue and more importantly, learn how to secure what you’ve gotten, not going about to look out for means to multiply the coin by trying to stake it on some platform, may be join in a cloud mining or perhaps trade it,,, these are always a tempting option but, you just might loss your coin in the process.
As you learn, learn security too, it’s very important to not break faith in the system.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: The savings problem on: February 05, 2024, 11:04:22 PM
You say that the value of savings is disappearing among the population, especially among the youth, and I think that the economy is not helping this situation, but if there's a will, there's a way. People need to get a financial education and read books that help them in their jobs. Because most of these problems arise because people don't distribute their income properly and leave expensive items for the future.
In a society where inflation seems to be the order of the day, savings seems to be pretty much a bad idea. I mean, why would you save when all you’ve got piled away could be devalued to worth almost nothing.

Somehow, savings isn’t an abandoned act within the youth with a particular focus on how they could enhance their growth and financial freedom. Most youths with some great deal of discipline still do themselves the favour of having to save. Save with a particular intent of providing securities for their future. Those who have this understands wouldn’t give much importance to what the devaluation of currency might be. You still get to save no matter what.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This was my highest risk. on: February 05, 2024, 10:48:43 PM
This is the highest risk I have ever taken on gamble.  :)Why I called this the highest risk was because if the remaining 2 games lose I will be the loser and not my friend, so that risk was very terrible but I just have to take the risk because I already have in mind that you can not win if you do not risk. But to cut long story short, I win the bet, this was like sharing the money equally with my friend.
So have you ever taken such a risk on gambe before?
I don’t very much agree that risk be taken in the way you did but, it’s not up to me yo decide and you already did make your evaluations based on, what was being offered for cash out and the games that were pending.

It takes great courage and some know how to take the risk that you took. I’m wondering though,
This seems like an online bet and not some actual paper printed or played bet in an outlet so, just how was this transfer of ownership done;
You had to wait until the game is all settled and then, your friend does process a withdrawal to your account or
You actually did exchange passwords or ownership of the account for the time being?

This could create real problems between you and your friend so, I don’t advise or encourage it but, if it’s good enough for you, then it’s really up to you.
