The boring part is going to be rooting out the individual styling in the .ui forms and making them rely on the stylesheet, though once that is done, we can then have a situation where users can pick a stylesheet at the start of every session.

Mostly all done at my end, I just suck at using git. What's wrong with rsync anyway?  Grin

Don't worry about the grey/orange folks, a few find/replace ops can change it all:

Subsidiary dialogs are all taken care of, eg:

so then.....apparently we can make copious use of qss, java script and ui to make amazing interface. Seems we'll be having fun with this a lot in our spare time

If you're taking the piss you'll have to do better than that. I am thick skinned and relentless.   Tongue

Have moved all styling elements including the main window menu/toolbars and toolstripe into the stylesheet.qss file. Not finished yet but everything now in one place makes future theming very easy.

looking into it now

Bugger, just looked at the pull request I did and it didn't include the actual stylesheet. Joys of senility!

Uploaded it here: http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=28046410783817782264     (Can't wrangle with git right now.)

Will post some pics later and see what people think.

I've been posting on the BitcoinWisdom thread trying to get them to rebrand to Dash... I may be wasting my time as he hasn't been on BCT in two months... Angry

BCW exists solely to extort money from certain LTC bagholders every couple of months by dropping the LTC section and reinstating it when the axle is sufficiently greased again. And they don't accept LTC.  Cheesy

may even add sound notifications if i can figure it out

As long as they have an OFF switch!  Smiley

I'll have another crack tomorrow, I know how to get things changed a whole lot faster now.

while i wait for consultation on some stuff, gonna work on the qt all night, seems unfair that i'd leave novices the whole job.

let's see what i can do in a night  Wink

would be nice if you guys would comment on the changes as they occur in case you disagree with some of the changes

i'll be uploading changes on the hour.

 Smiley

I was playing a bit more today, and found that...

1. commenting out the current setStyleSheet line in bitcreditgui.cpp and replacing it with:
    QFile qss(":/css/stylesheet");
    qss.open(QFile::ReadOnly);
    qApp->setStyleSheet(qss.readAll());
    qss.close();

2. adding the following to bitcredit.qrc:
    <qresource prefix="/css">
        <file alias="stylesheet">res/css/stylesheet.qss</file>
    </qresource>

3. deleting all the individual widget-specific stylesheet stuff in all the form.ui files

...means you can stick one 'stylesheet.qss' file in /src/qt/res/css/ ...and spend a whole lot less time buggering about in QT Designer...  Cheesy

This is a nice stylesheet that I was modifying, was quite a good fit for what I'd been doing: http://www.yasinuludag.com/darkorange.stylesheet

Anyway, I'm sure you know how to do all this far better than I do, have fun!  Grin

1. We would have to divide the existing Bitcoin holders in two groups, a) BTC holders that don't know about Dash and b) BTC holders that already know about Dash but are not investing in it for their own reasons.

Since group a is surely too small a set to even worry about (well, both groups are piddling in terms of the real world  Cheesy) and group b at this point will likely never be convinced anyway until their dear and fluffy beliefs get crushed a whole lot more by cold hard market forces, I completely agree with your chosen strategy.  Smiley

New users are key.

Node 40 is run by Perry Woodin, who is orangecycle on DCT. Otoh has used his services and raves about his professionalism. If you need something like this, it's highly recommended.

I am a darkcoiner from almost the beginning. I hardly post today and like contributing what i can from the background.
A year ago [minus 6 days exactly], i posted this on Darkcoin forum:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

tl:dr - masternodes are ingenious, BUT large investors will make profits that small investors can't, hence the inequality of darkcoin distribution will widen.

That is why i also voted against reducing coin supply.
A month later, i posted this:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

tl:dr - Address- XosXcEm3Y6Mv6tmBKd1rUWhqB9Pf1hABj7  started accumulating darkcoins a week ago and now it already has 192,000 DRK !!! 4.6% of coins in circulation.

Fast forward -
Several days ago it was confirmed that someone (presumably Otoh), holds 675 masternodes:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/dash/tx.dws?1702385.htm

I have nothing against otoh. I heard only great things about him, and I'm sure he is a wonderfull guy. But the fact remains that this is a staggering amount of masternodes, and its growth beyond that of small bag-holders is imho a serious issue.

I do not have a solution up my sleeve, although I've heard of ideas for community masternodes and P2P run masternodes. Still, this requires development, and a decision (voting? by whom?).

However, i do have a small request:
If you decided to run your masternodes via Masternode Service Providers rather than by yourself, PLEASE PLEASE distribute your masternodes among them, or choose the least largest provider. Having otoh's 675 masternodes run by node40 along with all their other clients makes it a centralized point of concern.
 and frankly, gives me a chill.

FWIW, I started using masternode.me recently and are very happy from this service.
The payment is the same with any service provider you choose, and unless you have dozens of masternodes, then interface, graphs and other pyrotechnics are meaningless. You go in to view these data/charts/tables/whatever them only once in ages at most.

Keep Dash decentralized. Please.

Chance of 700 rogue Masternodes out of 2400+ causing any service impact: almost zero.

Chance of just 2 compromised pool servers wreaking severe havoc on the blockchain: 100%

Priorities...  Tongue

Paper wallet generator now with big enough labels to see and print the whole address/privkey, correct print icon, lovely grey background colour:

My ssd drive crashed that had my dark wallet on it. I thought I had backed it up but I'm having a hard time finding it. I sincerely hope my coins are not lost in the block chain for good.

Thanks, your deflationary backup policy enriches us all!  Cheesy

i got tired of c++ so i did something else today. If anyone is interested in a .pro file for QT pm me.

Is that for qmake / make instead of ./autogen.sh / ./configure ?

Did you remove "Watch only" Box ?

Yeah I hope that wasn't important, I got rid of it about 27 versions ago.  Cheesy

Should be enough room here for 5rWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWetc. I'll try and hammer the icons back in tomorrow.

Or maybe:

Haven't found exactly where the column spacing for recent transactions is screwed up but I think it's somewhere in transactionview.cpp or transactionmodel.cpp, but let's face it it could be bloody anywhere.  Cheesy
https://github.com/bitcreditscc/bicreditsnew/blob/master/src/qt/overviewpage.cpp#L50

to make it neater , you can remove the lines for displaying the address.

I think there's enough room. Smiley  edit: I'd rather get rid of the icon, it already says "+" or "-" and the signed amount can be / is colour coded. No need for 3 different differentiators!

The Icon indicate what type of transaction is, mined, received, paid ..

Bugger!  Grin

Still will not work for the address. If you don't have it in address book, it will overflow (it's to long) Smiley))) trust me, i was playing with that endless time Tongue, It will look horrible

What if I moved the Darksend stuff to top right and had the recent transactions underneath... whole window width should fit a big long address in. Smiley

Now to get the bloody icon aligned...

darkcoin is competion for paypal, not bitcoin. corporations can fail. cryptocurrencies cant.

DRK is competition to both. And it's the Paypal aspect which is where the money is anyway. Call it corporate if you like, but it's as decentralised a corporation as is practically feasible.

And Bitcoin has already failed.

DRK stands a chance where BTC had none, due to BTC's absence of pragmatic and adaptable leadership. Happy hippie hogwash is all very well but in the real world you need to get shit done and relying on fucking miners to do anything but slurp and bitch is absurd, but good luck with that. Smiley

Playing with splash screen:

Do not despair, I will get bored and go away eventually. Why do C++ coders need to scatter shit across dozens of different files, a mistake in any one of which FUBARs the whole show? It's like the opposite of multiple redundancy.   Angry
