Where is the hashrate guys? If we add all the hashrates from the pools mentioned here it won't even be half of the net hashrate. How many multipools are actually on this now?
its called china-private-gtfo-westerns pool yesterday went to a seer , paid 50$ to ask what would be the future of asiacoin........the rest of the story i will keep to my self but i will tell you this : i sold my car for 75% of its value So would you sell a kidney? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

we wont see 5000 until after PoW has ended and the multipool is going full force.
is it true that blackcoin's multipool was mining whitecoin today? that's funny. kind of cute in a way, lol
Yes that's true!

Everyone, how are things with HVC? We've been on a constant decline in value for some time now (market cap is staying the same though).

Don't you watch Harry Potter? This-Coin-Must-Not-Be-Named started trading on MintPal.
Yeah, made tons of profit from the-coin-which-must-not-be-named today ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) But I wasn't expecting it to affect BC.

Guys, it's time to break the 40k wall.
You do know given what has happened today, the fact that we are still at 38K is a major victory. What did happened today? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

It's anyones guess. Allow me to put this market in perspective for those who are new.
2 days ago = WC @ 300SAT Yesterday = WC topped at 1200, dropped to 500 Today = WC topped at 2000SAT, will likely drop below 1000 is my guess.
Anyone else have a prediction?
Yeah more or less. I think the it will drop to 900-1100.
|
|
|
Guys let's be rational here... Whitecoin last night was trading between 500-700SAT ... Today it hit a high of 2000SAT and is currently hovering around 1700. From a logical perspective, WC will likely bottom tonight at 800-1000SAT before continuing to rise. NOTHING goes up in a straight line. Profit needs to be taken, dumpers need to dump. That's just my two cents. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) True... There will be a huge dump in a few hours, it's already starting.

Bought at 750, sold at 1750.

if news hits a massive pump followed by a big dump? Hope not..
You wish! The dump is coming...

Is there any pool out there that is NOT using MPOS?
What's the problem? When I use the same worker name for multiple miners (I need to do this), it mixes up everything and I get 30-40% of rejected shares. Some pools handle this very well (mostly those that ask for wallet address as username).

What's the more stable pool? Is there anyone that uses the wallet directly as username without registration?

As a pool operator I'm surprised you don't get it as it's just simple math. Plus we've been discussing it in the forum the past week. It seems you only care about "price to dump" your coin for. I guess "rape and pillage" is one way to go if you're a pool operator but that is not good for the rest of us. And honestly you yourself could make more off of a lower vote count. ZHPool, a question for you. Assuming voting stays the same. What do you think will happen to both your pool and HVC in general if the reward per block suddenly drops from 550 coins to 5 coins? This could very well happen when the coin enters the sustain phase. Remember the sustain phase will not pay more then 8 HVC per block (at the highest) regardless of vote count!
If there is NOT a smooth transition from the current block reward down to under 10 HVC there could be problems entering the sustain phase.
If you assume the voting stays about the same and the value of the coin stays about the same then all of a sudden the coin will be worth about 100 times less to mine when phase 3 (sustain) takes affect. Your HVC pool may very well die and maybe the coin too.
Now let me propose a different strategy: People start voting much lower. This will increase difficulty but will also expand the mint phase. The market will slowly adjust and the value of HVC will go up as the difficulty goes up because they coin is harder to mine. Nothing is going to happen overnight BUT with the reward per block slowly getting smaller and the value of HVC getting bigger they will "cover/complement" each other.
This allows the reward per block reward to get smaller and smaller over the next couple of months while HVC increases in value. If done correctly then the reward per block won't be 550 but maybe 50 or so. There will not be such a drastic drop off in reward going into the sustain phase.
PLUS, by reducing the vote count it will EXTEND the mint phase which in turn givse more time for the value of HVC to adjust.
Translation, you "can" make more as a pool operator by helping to extend the mint phase. You surely can make more long term by having the coin still alive and doing well in 3 months!
Just for clarification: No one is asking to "force" anyone to do anything. All we are suggesting is replacing the default vote count in your samples with a vote count of 1. Users are still free to change it to whatever they choose.
I would be happy to put together a 5 or 6 line paragraph explaining the vote parameter you could include with the configs.
I would be happy to take this offline to PM or email if you like. I'd first love to "win you over" personally first. At best it would be good for your pool and the worst case would probably be "neutral" to your pool.
Carlo
Very well said. A high vote will cause the mint phase to ran out quickly, and then suddenly during the sustain phase the block reward goes down to 5-8 HVC, which is extremely sudden and dangerous, and to my prediction, the coin will not survive. Low votes will cause the mint phase to extend much longer, a slow gradual decrease in the block rewards which will correspond to an increase in the price of the coin, and the whole ecosystem will be ready for the sustain phase. I'm really shocked that pool managers/big miners do not seem to get this key issue. Please everyone, vote low, and dear pool managers, set your defaults to a low value. We need this. It's not about whales to make short term profit, it's about the long-term survival of HVC.

is there a top list of addresses that is holding WC?
I'd like to see this as well.

any new ideas which will boost the price?
Yes, just start a proper multipool that pays in VTC and it will boost the price. But generally VTC is not for short-term profit making, for that there are other coins out there with zero future and a high risk high reward profit making possibility. Trademybit pays out in VTC if u want - afaik? It pays out the VTC you mine, but it doesn't auto-exchange your other coins into VTC. What takes the price up is a high hashrate multipool that mines altcoins and pays out exclusively in VTC. No it doesnt, it weakens our main network, dropping the diff there and the instadumpers get more coins - its more bad then good for us. All in all its a zero sum game i believe... Its also kind of parasitic to dump other coins just to get more vtc, i am not a fan of that. Just because other certain coins do that it doesnt mean we should imho. I agree, but I was answering the question of what will increase the price. A multipool that mines Scrypt coins and pays exclusively in VTC will not weaken our network or increase our difficulty, and it will generate a lot of trades on a daily basis, which causes pumps/dumps on the price but on average contributes towards a significant increase in the price. I'm not suggesting someone to go ahead and do it, I like VTC the way it is but sooner or later assuming the success of VTC, multipools that mine whatever algorithm and pay in VTC will happen and it's not wrong to discuss their possibility/effect on the network and VTC ecosystem in general. P.S. I don't look at VTC as a short-term profit source, If I were I wouldn't have spent time doing intro talks to VTC at different places and given away over 1000 VTC to people to get them into the ecosystem. VTC is something that I seriously believe in. Please don't misunderstand me ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Encrypt, copy onto a few different mediums and keep them safe. If you wanna do a cloud backup, encrypt the wallet from the wallet app, then encrypt the wallet file, and then zip/rar it with a very long password and it will be safe to put on a cloud storage service. Print the passwords/decryption keys and keep them safe.
on the refrigerator door they go then... ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) Way to go!
