Everytime I go to the Robocoin machine to take some party money for the night, there is someone using it and I have to wait.

483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sidechains vs XCP (counterparty) on: October 30, 2014, 10:34:22 PM
XCP is technically a sidechain. They have first mover advantage being used by Overstock to develop a decentralized digital asset exchange.

But isn't an aspect of sidechains the ability to move bitcoins to and from the sidechain as needed? Since X amount of bitcoins were burned and there is a fixed amount of XCP it can't be converted back? Can't a sidechain be implemented that has the same technology as XCP but utilizes bitcoin? The only difference would be that the amount on that sidechain wouldn't be fixed but instead still tied to the value of bitcoin.

The administrator of this website is on drugs.  One of the most important issues in bitcoin is the development in bitcoin 2.0.  But since Theymos or someone else hates bitcoin 2.0 - everything gets lumped into 'Alts'.  Alts is the dumbest bullshit waste of time in all of cryptography and bitcoin 2.0 is the most incredible interesting development since Satoshi got the first itch.  Why the hell can we have a sub forum for all the interesting 2.0 projects?

Somebody with some sense needs to start a bitcoin forum without a stupid bias.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock revenue up 17% - big boost from bitcoin on: October 29, 2014, 07:50:25 PM
... a factor in where I choose to spend...
That, and they have really good stuff at insane low prices.  Take a look now: www.overstock.com
485  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Overstock revenue up 17% - big boost from bitcoin on: October 29, 2014, 07:15:17 PM
PS:  I believe Bitcoin has represented less than 1% of their increased sales thus far.
When pro bitcoin companies do well, it is good for the community - even if you can't directly pin it on direct sales.  Now go buy something from Overstock as punishment for being a dumbass.  Use fiat if your bitcoin mine is too feeble to generate real money, but use bitcoin if you can.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Overstock revenue up 17% - big boost from bitcoin on: October 29, 2014, 12:53:20 AM
While the 17% is not from bitcoin sales, bitcoin did contribute to this increase.  Further, new users from the bitcoin community have now become more familiar with the excellent service Overstock has to offer and they enjoy using Overstock even with fiat.

Overstock gained many new customers and great press via its relationship with bitcoin.  Keep up the good work and keep supporting businesses which support bitcoin.

Go buy some nice stuff from those guys today.  They just bought 90 million dollars worth of nice jewelry.  If you need a new watch, you'll get a seriously killer deal.

Bitcoin:

Almost 80% are hoarders and 20% consumers.
Got any evidence to suggest this?  Or is it just a guess and wishful thinking?  I though bitcoiners were a little more scientific than this.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are you all idiots? ...or what? on: October 26, 2014, 07:29:35 PM
And the person using the btc to buy things will need to reload his wallet again soon

This is the part so many people don't understand.  Users of bitcoin spend them and Overstock changes them to Fiat immediately.  But, the user of bitcoin must replentish his wallet - or quit being a user of bitcoin.  I seriously doubt users of bitcoin quit the system as soon as they spend their bitcoins at Overstock.  Nope.  They go back to Coinbase and rebuy the same damn bitcoins that Overstock is selling.

Shocking how moronic the masses are.  Overstock selling 100% of their bitcoins does nothing to adversely affect price.  However, that Overstock accepts them in the first place DOES attract more bitcoin users to the system as the utility of the coins is improved.

Every person who bought stuff at Overstock later replentished his wallet.  Not one single guy quit being a bitcoin user because his wallet went empty after a Overstock purchase.

WTF?  Are you people idiots or what?  Definately idiots.

489  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: October 25, 2014, 08:35:54 PM
What's the difference between SP31 and SP35?
Don't worry about that shit, let me tell you about the SP50.

The SP50 is going to have a receiving module and power supply with removable blades.  One unit of the system is going to do 12THs.  After the lifetime of the blades is expired, you just pull those out, throw away, and shove in the blades of the next generation (14nm).

You heard it hear first!  Actually, Guy told a bunch of us in Vegas about this.  Watch for the announcement soon.

490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Joke known as U.S. Congress now worry about Bitcoin on: October 25, 2014, 07:26:49 PM
I'm rather curious as to where they go with this.
I am not.  Clearly this goes nowhere.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Are you all idiots? ...or what? on: October 24, 2014, 05:56:08 PM
If Bitcoin is going to take off, you've got to use it.  I just talked to a customer service guy at Newegg.  He said 'hardly anyone' pays with bitcoin.  He said he's only dealt with two orders done in Bitcoin.

If you've got bitcoin, go spend some buying cool shit at Newegg or Overstock.  The whole thing will fall apart if Merchants start seeing it as a waste of time.

Don't wait, buy some shit today!  What are you - an idiot?
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Preston Byrne Throws Down the Gauntlet on Bitshares on: October 21, 2014, 06:12:43 PM

Byrne is a whack job with nothing to say.  The blog referenced has no content.  Clearly this is just bullshit FUD put out by a NXT guy trying to pump that coin.

a bot just bought all the MSC on bter at 10BTC/MSC Shocked
Looks like there is a bug in this bot.  It is basing everything on the future price of MSC.  Smiley

A bit like David Irvine and the Mastercoin crims  Grin

David Irvine is a symbol of everything that is right in this world.  You might as well get on the table and shout that you have a tiny brain  hahahahahahahahahahaha

IMO the blokes an idiot, a fake asshole and although probably nievely and unwittingly; is trying to create yet another part of the internet for a niche group of dumb liberals and pedophiles that represent everything I find sickening in this world.

Each to their own point of view I suppose, but I think you missed the context of the original jokey comment you thought was idiotic.

If he had half of a brain, he easily would have understood the scam that was his company 'public offering'.  He never would have permitted mastercoin holders to dump a load of garbage in his bank and pull out loads of highly liquid bitcoin for which they immediately sold and thus robbed his company of millions.  If Irvine could think his way out of a drunken Scottish stupor, that would never have happened.  A few mastercoin whales robbed him blind as he is not a very clever chap at all.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 26, 2014, 03:14:41 PM
bitmain antminer S4 will be shipped since Sept 29. 2TH, 0.69 J/GH, $1450 USD.

https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140916100720380cS1tRWd00684

And KnC still owes me a bonus miner worth $5995 (or $1000?)...

You didn't hear?  Those bonus miners were just a joke.  They are never coming.  You can just forget about receiving that.  It's just like how "Plan B, Hash While you Wait" disappeared.  KnC is going to argue the contract was for 1 Neptune and they are not obligated to give the 'bonus' they once contemplated.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 25, 2014, 09:09:23 PM
I wonder whether batch2 will begin shipping a month after the first units ship from batch1 or a month after the last unit from batch1 ships.

It should be the latter, but given that KNC want to kick us all to the kerb and get back to what they do best, namely, mining with the hardware they manufacture, I'm guessing it will be the former.

my bet is batch 3 and the free neptunes (batch 3 is 5995 for 3Th) will be allowed to convert to the arctic cloud...6 months of hosting with what you paid for your
3rd batch neptune at $5995 equals 9630.522088353414 TH which will complete the screwing over of 1st batch 2nd batch everyone that got equip from knc in the past

they won't do this you say

it is a win/win for KNC ..they keep the 20mm equip for their data farms...(its theres after 6 months) they hook a bunch of folk into cloud mining..they don't have
to deal with us pesky want roi customers...(same with cloud hashing but you don't really know till the 6th month)

anyway my bet....more angst to come even after we get out equipment

I think you got one part of the story right for sure.  I don't think KnC will ever deliver on the bonus Neptunes.  That was all merely a scam to prevent people from claiming their refunds.  I can't believe KnC so royally screwed the very people who paid for their datacenter.  What a freaking farce.  Don't they have consumer protection laws in Sweden?
496  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - carrier grade, data center ready mining rigs on: September 25, 2014, 07:42:26 PM
I lose patience, we are already on September 26. Each day passes my confidence drops at the sight of October  Embarrassed.
They always post this shit on the last day.  Be happy.  KnC delivers two month late.
497  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 14, 2014, 04:49:14 PM
Please hold on to your sarcasm

Some people might not detect it as such and start spamming spondoolies on where to get some nonexistant preorder for some vaguely designed product.
I don't know what drugs you are smoking man, but I am getting in early on this one.  No sarcasm at all.  SP50s are coming and I am not going to be late this time. I'll buy 10 if the price is good.  But for sure I'll sign up for 10 on the preorder.

RoadStress - is it OK if we just use the last GroupBuy address?  If you still have the keys, I'll send 5BTC today for 10XSP50s reservation.

edit:
I just got a PM!!  It looks like the design ceiling is 20Th/s!  That is insane.  I wonder what the chipset / footprint looks like which can achieve that.  These guys are crazy.  I love it.

Who cares about 20 terahash...?  Neptune can do that, if you stack enough of them together.  What really matters is the watts per Th.  Do you have any information on that?  If not, then shut the fuck up.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Very severe blow to bitcoin on: July 13, 2014, 11:47:03 PM
Can someone offer some context/background for this?
Thanks in advance.
The Bitcoin foundation has gained Pierce and lost Antonopolos.  This isn't going in the right direction at all.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The Official Mastercoin Foundation, Master Protocol & Mastercoin Thread on: July 13, 2014, 03:46:50 PM
I'm going to chime in that I met Ron at CoinSummit this past week and had a really nice talk about what Mastercoin is doing. As an investor that was losing faith, It was a very productive discussion that has fully reassured me. Perhaps the MSC guys aren't the best at doing PR, but they really seem to know what they are doing otherwise.

This is precisely why I invested in MasterProtocol.  Anyone who even attempts to 'do PR' in this cesspool of relentless assholes is a fool.  Masterminds have shown incredible restraint by not answering the bullshit which constantly gets throw around in this place.
500  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Message Encryption with bitcoin address. on: July 11, 2014, 03:27:45 AM
As discussed above the relationship between a bitcoin public key and a bitcoin private key is one that is not able to encrypt messages.
Is that really discussed above?  Is that really true?  It doesn't seem likely that these asymmetric keys can't be used for message encryption via asymmetric cryptography.  I wish I understood why that would be.
