481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chances for a 10x price this summer on: June 16, 2014, 01:15:04 PM
Lol by that logic gold should've 1000x'd a few times now.

IMO if BTC overtook paypal and adoption by small/medium/large corporations continues to grow we'll see 3k by the end of next year.

Assuming we don't have another MT Gox situation (with blockchain or something).

Much racism
So amaze
483  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: FREE 100 BTC WORLD CUP CONTEST ~ SIGNUP ENDS IN 4 HOURS on: June 15, 2014, 09:34:12 AM
Damn, guessing every single round correctly? fuckk..dude.

486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Merchants accepting BTC on: June 15, 2014, 05:40:36 AM
As a form of advertising? I'm not sure about websites but you could attend local Bitcoin meetups to spread the word about your business..? maybe request Coinmap.org to put you on their raider? have an interview with one of the journalists at coindesk?

Those are just the few that I can think of from the top of my head, probably countless others.
487  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: My buddy is getting a divorce. Can the court seize half of his bitcoins? on: June 14, 2014, 05:39:42 PM
They follow the money and see what he did with it.  If he'd mixed it at SR for example, that would be good because it could've been lost. They say he dissipated the assets.  They say, you are in contempt until you come up with $X.

In short: She whores around.  She gets to get f&$@ed by some other guy,, he gets to get f$&@ed all over again by her in court.

in all seriousness -

how could they?

i like his plan.

What if he just said "I developed a gaming addiction and lost it all on a cryptocurrency gambling website"

Which in reality is completely possible and unproveable in the courts eyes seeing as none of the crypto gambling sites are registered with a government authority. Does this mean any married man who loses significant portion of his assets could go to jail for life for not being able to prove the means of which he lost it? Would be surprised if this was the case TBH.

489  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The Lack of Major Wars May Be Hurting Economic Growth on: June 14, 2014, 05:27:43 PM
Basically, war gives the government an excuse for raising wages which is what leads to economic growth, at least in terms of rising living standards. Of course, the elites have to feel threatened enough or at least bribed enough to play along, at least for the duration. To be effective, the war has to require a fair bit of industrial production and large enough armies and long enough duration to have an impact on the workforce, which is why our most recent small scale wars have had little or negative impact.
Raising taxes*
490  Economy / Lending / Re: CoinLenders Script :: Bitcoin Bank (Borrow+Deposit) Software :: Demo Available on: June 14, 2014, 05:26:15 PM
Why do all these BTC loaners all have a negative trust rating? aren't they the ones in the vulnerable position of getting scammed?
491  Economy / Services / Re: Looking to buy high quality bitcoin traffic on: June 14, 2014, 01:25:23 PM
How about this very forum... - currently sponsored by a relatively small VPN provider (Private Internet Access), I'm sure a loan shark can beat that Tongue
492  Economy / Economics / Re: Australia Seizes 360M From Dormant Bank Account (inactive for 3 years) on: June 14, 2014, 01:11:40 PM
may be this leads aussies to invest on bitcoin more
Unlikely but then again a very valid plus side to Bitcoins over AUD.

The AUS government have been doing this for over a decade though and they're becoming pretty good at it...
493  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beware of LocalBitcoins.com on: June 14, 2014, 12:55:39 PM
I don't understand why people don't just buy from trusted exchanges instead of going to the trouble to meet someone IRL with not only a chance of getting scammed but paying a lot more for the BTC then they're worth (at time of purchase).
494  Economy / Speculation / Re: FBI coins could sell for a premium on: June 14, 2014, 03:06:56 AM
Unlikely, there's more of a chance for them to sell at a heavy discount (if they all go to 1 buyer) and then the merchant would be responsible for selling them off slowly to obtain a profit.
495  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is dead ! GHash over 51%, SR Seized coins and Mtgox coins, China Ban etc on: June 13, 2014, 12:35:51 PM
Considering GHash is a business and the primary goal for a business is to grow they can only limit themselves so much before it starts hurting, question is do they sell out and give control or keep their promise to have BTC best interest at hand.

Even if BTC was dumped, it would bounce back in no time, there's just so much belief in the concept that I'd almost call it a cult-like following. Not to mention the value of BTC doesn't effect what BTC actually is - something people often forget when prices 'crash'
496  Economy / Gambling / Re: Robbed by 5DIMES. Has your book ever done this to you? on: June 13, 2014, 12:25:36 PM
I don't really think they would rob for $5 and not exactly the right forum as 5dimes is with USD but was it listed that all golfers have action?
$5 isn't much when you just count the one person but if they did this to 10,000 people that's 50 grand.

People wave this stuff off all the time but that little bite they take here and there equates to a lot of revenue, banks do this all the time.
497  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: 53 double spends today? on: June 11, 2014, 01:17:51 PM
And it grows...
498  Other / Off-topic / Re: What social network do you use most? on: June 11, 2014, 12:54:20 PM
Facebook, I consciously make sure I'm never using it in a social situation around friends etc or during work time.
499  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you like to say to the folks who read this thread 100 years from now? on: June 11, 2014, 12:48:10 PM
Sorry for contributing to the destruction of this planet & most likely your suffering @ this time of reading.
500  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2014-06-08] CD: Korean Bitcoin Gambling Site Seeks Asian Customers on: June 09, 2014, 11:50:12 AM
I am not sure whether online gambling is 100% legal in South Korea. I have friends there and they have told me that even porn sites are blocked there. A large number of people use VPN in South Korea. (I am not talking about the DPRK).
No surprise there lol, I think even Facebook is blocked (or google, I forget which one) but then again it's a popular games development company so I think it's legal to some extent.

@Kj I haven't player either but from a design perspective I think Satoshinori takes the cake.
