Options are in the air!

We rolled options out yesterday on LTC-GLOBAL: http://forum.litecoin.net/index.php/topic,551.msg8544.html#msg8544

Next day we get it on BitFunder: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=130117.msg1633487#msg1633487

In another 24 hours we'll commit the LTC-GLOBAL code over to BTC-TC.  Wink

I don't think Ukyo's ever gonna let me catch up on my sleep.   Grin  Grin

Heh. Hadn't see that till you wrote this post. I no longer have a need to use LTC-GLOBAL since I had to sell my shares at half price.
I have been working on options for over a month, and have had beta and alpha testers during and prior.
I am not sure if you are trying to insinuate that I posted options just because of you or not, but that was not the case.
I suppose if you are suggesting I saw your post, and managed to whip up a fully re-writable options system in a matter of hours, I am honored! Cheesy

Although, the never going to let you sleep comment would leave me to believe that you knew I was writing options (not toooo hard to guess at), and decided to try to push it out before me. Wink

And I hardly consider 13hrs "next day" though I suppose depending on your timezone that makes some .. difference. Tongue

When will you support option rewriting so people can make money reselling part or whole options?
482  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace + Rewritable Options Trading on: March 17, 2013, 08:56:47 AM
We also need the ability to trade options.

As usual, ask and ye shall receive.

It took a little more time to test than I had hopped, but a looping execution system must be properly tested. Smiley

You can now write, rewrite, and execute PUT and CALL options for any asset on BitFunder.

This goes great with peoples questioning over AsicMiner, SDICE, or even LTC prices.

You will find the options trading tab next to the profile tab on the asset.

All options are listed per asset only at the moment
The 'My Assets' page listing all of your written/rewritten, held, and other options detail is almost done.
483  Economy / Securities / Re: How to deposit shares to [BitFunder] G.ASICMINER-PT on: March 15, 2013, 07:41:56 PM
I have some ASICMINER shares that I want to trade, what is the process to deposit shares to this pass-through asset?
The official instruction is a little vague.
When send message to Friedcat, do I need to tell Friedcat which ID at BitFunder to deposit to? (or use the bitcoin address Bitfunder to identify people), when I send this message to Friedcat, what proof do I need to bring that I have these shares?
or I need to send a seperate message to DeaDTerra, saying which bitcoin address this shares comes from?

All you need to do is email Friedcat telling him how many shares you want to transfer and the following information:
The bitcoin address to transfer shares to is: 1Ep3QFm5uqfoqPMG4HKq6yauMhdtyQTAsG
And the email is: g.asicminer.pt@gmail.com

Then send a pm or email to DeaDTerra with your email address, number of shares, and BitFunder username (top right of the screen when logged in).

As soon as Friedcat accepts the transfer, he will send DeaDTerra an update to confirm it. DeadTerra will then issue and transfer you the shares.

Hope this helps! Smiley

I added an option under settings to not display asset graphs.

Give it a shot and tell me if that makes life better on the site for you. Smiley
485  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace on: March 14, 2013, 06:22:46 AM
I think it's very unreasonable to get people to use another browser just for your site.

I was only asking to test if it was an issue with firefox so I can check into memory leaks regarding firefox and the chart.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Smiley

Issue doesn't appear to be a memory leak to me - I've had the monitor up during the lag and theres no real increase in memory usage by the process.  Sometimes nothing seems to be happening, but a lot of the time it appears to be waiting for a response from either google analytics or raw.github.

I didn't look at the graphs at all - as I had BTC-E open already.  I just scrolled down to orders area, put some orders in, waited 10 seconds for page to load between each one, then cancelled them as LTC can move a few percent in 10 seconds and the lag was preventing me keeping my BTC-E orders updated.

Just tried Chrome and can confirm there was zero lag of any significance there - so problem does seem to be Firefox related.

Also just tried looking at the BTC-E graph for the LTC asset.  Once the graph has initially loaded it's fine for swapping between tabs.  Problem is that I spend more time loading pages then sitting on them - I go to an asset to do trades.

Unfortunately I can't really swap to Chrome as that has problems with Flash which is used on other websites I tend to have open.  Could keep multiple browsers open at once I guess, but have had problems when doing that before.
[/quote]

Thanks for checking that!

Graph data loading method will change in the next week to be an "after thought" for the page to load.

I don't want to force anyone from their favorite browser and will be working to solve it.
In the meantime I will get a disable option up for you guys.

I was considering removing analytics already. I was just using it to keep visitor stats for dev reasons.
What pages are loaded the most, etc, etc.

I will try to track down the github url purl and replace it with a local. That is probably what is causing the freeze it sounds like.

Thanks again for everything! Smiley

That is very interesting.

Are you all using firefox?
Would you guys be willing to try chrome to see if it happens there as well?
I wonder if there is a memory management issue with firefox.
I could even make a chart option to limit chart data to X days/months.

The old graph worked just fine for you for loading, right?

And yes, I have a laundry list of profile  options I will be popping up son.
I may go ahead and add a charting option tonight if it is that bad.

Also Deprived,
When accessing the CRYPTO.LTC asset page, does the custom btce graph lag you also?
My original intentions were to upload 100% complete historical btce data.
I was debating against it last night because it would just be so much data.
Also considering just limiting the btce graph to last 3~7 days.

I am having trouble getting a response.  do you know their member name?

Hey there,

I would be happy to help me.

PM me here, or msg me on irc. We just talked a couple days ago. Smiley (Assuming you are deadweasel on IRC)

How long would transfer of shares into passthrough take? There are Dividents anticipated for Wednesday.

Your shares would not be in limbo.
Friedcat will pay either you, or the PT the divs for the shares.
You will get yours either way. Smiley

I am sure DT will check the transfer confirms from Friedcat before processing divs.
And even if there was some sort of awkward mishap, DT has proven trustworthy that he would fix it asap.
I received a pm this morning with the updated list of new ASICMINER deposits Smiley
I will import them in just a bit, please be patient.
//DeaDTerra

G.ASICMINER-PT is now up to 11,689 shares. Smiley

Why is the dividend payed twice ? Is it an error ?

The amount was wrong, so he had me correct it into one dividend.

Hey,

I like his idea.

What if I make the asset a private listing.
Not listed on the market, and only shareholders can even view the asset page / interact with it?

I was thinking this solution as long as I was reading the thread. So +1 to it.

They ass has been removed from the market list.

Anyone who holds shares can easily access the asset page from their 'My Assets' page.

I will will be adding a flag in the near future so that its news posts are not public.

I am still a bit in debate over making the asset only viewable by shareholders.
494  Economy / Securities / Re: [ BitFunder ] CRYPTO.LTC - Buy/Sell LTC with BTC - Native LTC support on: March 13, 2013, 01:05:02 AM
You have ONE MILLION LITECOINS?!?

This is awesome because it lessens arbitrage between markets and overdependence on BTC-e.

*makes a Novacoin ETF to troll smoothie*

LOL I wish! With the 120+% price gain today on LTC alone that would be great.

The 1mil is just a current cap for the asset. Since ltc is deposited/withdraw by people it has no real bearings.

Although, so far the asset is starting to get a lot of attention.
I would like to say thanks to those who have already started to deposit amounts to give it a try. Smiley
495  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Asset Exchange Marketplace on: March 12, 2013, 08:48:25 PM
You should be fine to withdraw. Smiley
496  Economy / Securities / [ BitFunder ] CRYPTO.LTC - Buy/Sell LTC with BTC - Native LTC support on: March 12, 2013, 09:02:14 AM
You read it.

https://bitfunder.com/asset/CRYPTO.LTC

Buy and sell LTC on BitFunder.

From the transactions tab, you can get a litecoin address to credit your account.
While LTC are credited as shares of CRYPTO.LTC.

If you want to withdraw LTC, again, you withdraw shares of CRYPTO.LTC on a 1:1 ratio, and are sent to any litecoin address you provide.

Also, testing the new custom asset graphs feature, the system is showing BTCe BTC/LTC trading history. Graph data updated every minute.

Description:
1 share CRYPTO.LTC = 1 LTC

All shares are 100% backed by a managed litecoin wallet.

Deposit
You may deposit LTC in WHOLE AMOUNTS via the transactions page. Click the 'LTC' tab on the right hand side.
Every 1 LTC will automatically be credited as 1 CRYPTO.LTC share.

Withdraw
You may withdraw any number of CRYPTO.LTC shares to any Litecoin address.
Every 1 share of CRYPTO.LTC will send out 1 LTC before fees.

Fees
The only fee other than normal trading, is a 0.001 LTC minimum withdraw fee.
This helps us insure we have LTC to cover when the litecoin network requires a transaction fee.

Party time? Cheesy

Yup. All good. No losses whatsoever.

Withdraws and Deposits online.

I am pleased to announce that WeExchange and BitFunder have been checked, and no funds are in danger due to the current blockchain fork event.

All new btc deposits will be recognized, but not credited until verified after the blockchain merger.
Also, BTC withdraws are currently suspended as well.

This should hopefully be fixed by the bitcoin devs in a few hours.

Feel free to continue trading on BitFunder knowing the funds are safe. Smiley

Further details on the issue is at: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=152030

Hey,

I like his idea.

What if I make the asset a private listing.
Not listed on the market, and only shareholders can even view the asset page / interact with it?

That would be a good thing.  New investors could get their first share(s) by transfer (payment would be off-exchange anyway) then thereafter trade with one another.  It would reduce clutter for the rest of us - and prevent anyone trying to get listed with the intention to sell to the public by claiming it was just for private management of shares.

Only shareholders should also see news-releases from it.  If the issuer wants to market to the public then they can give disclosure sufficient to make informed investment decisions like most of the other companies do.

I think this is more than good.
Then for other people who want to do private personal things, not even public, they can use bitfunders services as well. Smiley

I will try to get this setup and done tonight after one or two other releases. Wink
