481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another health benefit of online gambling on: February 05, 2024, 02:03:30 PM
Mostly in local casinos here in my country (not the expensive casino), you can see gamblers smoking or drinking as well. So you can also put risks with your health being surrounded with them, especially being around smokers. Personally, I hate the smell of it so it's also one thing why I don't spend time on physical casinos.
You have just given a new dimension to my point of argument. Secondhand smoke is also risky to health. This means one can avoid these poisonous smokes if they choose to gamble online. Some gamblers have respiratory issues and exposing themselves to these conditions might worsen the health issues.

Your friend is an irresponsible person he knows that he has a contagious disease and he can pass the disease to other people that will be causing problems with other people's health, he should do the right thing and that is to wait for him to fully recover before he go to physical casinos
I am surprised about the comments I am receiving from this thread. Some people say that a sick person who has been medically advised to restrict how he exposes himself should be allowed to gamble in a crowded casino to avoid maybe boredom or loneliness. I think the most important thing should be the safety of other gamblers. He has other options to entertain himself, so why risk other people's health?
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: February 05, 2024, 01:41:31 PM
Nayib Bukele is a popular man in Salvador who first adopted Bitcoin as legal tender in his country in 2021 after it was declared legal tender.
Felix Ulloa, Vice President of Nayib Bukele, said that they will maintain Bitcoin as legal tender after the re-election of the government in El Salvador.
Details
I am happy that Bukele was able to secure victory for the second tenure which means we are sure of the progress of Bitcoin in El Salvador for the next five years. He deserves a second tenure because the biggest impediment to the development of El Salvador is organised gangs which lead to an increase in crimes. But he made some policies that have reduced criminal activities which has attracted investors to the country. He has also made a positive impact on the tourism sector of the country. The next five years will still be an era of buying Bitcoin because I have never heard of Bukele talking about selling.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 02:47:01 PM
How about you? Are you generous and if so, why are you generous?

In my case, I am a little generous because winning is a blessing that should be shared. However, I will not make people feel guilty when I give an amount from my blessing.

I know very generous gamblers. You would see them in physical casinos where they always buy bottles of beer for many people present each time they win a bet. Some of them go to the street to distribute money to beggars and the poor. I am thrilled by the generosity of your neighbour who selflessly distributed half of his wins to the people who need it. He can do this because he is a retiree who has fewer expenses.

But I am against overspending because bettors also need to plan their lives. We should ensure that we invest our money in profitable ventures to enable us to have more money to gamble with. If we keep giving out most of our wins, we might end up becoming broke if we don't win for a long period. I don't have any formal giving plan from my gamble wins but I try as much as possible to assist people in need, each time I have what to offer.
484  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 03, 2024, 02:16:25 PM
What is the essence of buying and hodling Bitcoin like is it to accumulate it till it attains ATH then we sell it off and wait for a dip and start buying and holdling again or just accumulate it and start using it as a digital means of exchange or are we going to continue till the 21 million Bitcoins have be mined, already 19 millions have been mined remaining 2 million because overtime, i have come across several topics about buy and hodl bitcoin so i actually wish to know the sole objective of acquiring bitcoins.
Money and freedom are the main reasons why I am into the Bitcoin ecosystem. Bitcoin is one of the most reliable investments that is predictable. Even a novice could easily understand and predict how the Bitcoin four-year cycle runs. One can easily buy the coin, keep it until the price appreciates and sell it profitably.

I live in a country where law enforcement agencies could direct banks to freeze your account without any genuine reason. They will claim that they suspect that your account has been used for illegal activities. It will take a very hectic bureaucratic process to unfreeze the account. I am fascinated by the ability of Bitcoin that give us the chance to be our own bank and keep how much we own secret. I don't want people to know how much I own to avoid criminal attacks. Bitcoin is a lifelong Investment for me because it is reliable.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another health benefit of online gambling on: February 03, 2024, 12:43:57 PM
Uhmm, please correct me if I'm wrong but I don't see any "health benefits" in playing in an online casino just because you are severely sick and you need to be isolated from the others. Online casino will only keep you away from the crowd so your illness won't get any more severe, but that's all it, no "health benefits" really.
I know you have mentioned he's a responsible gambler, but I guess your neighbour is irresponsible when it comes to health issues, because if he isn't, he hasn't come up with such "severe" stage of tuberculosis from a poorly ventilated gambling facilities.
Gambling doesn't cure or alleviate any illnesses, so I don't think a health benefit is possible in here.
Correct me if I am also wrong, but do you think preventing a disease has a health benefit? This is how I see it, if online casinos can help me not to expose myself to an environment that is not unhealthy, then it is a helpful benefit. Medicine is not all about medication that is why we have a field called preventive medicine. You don't need to be cured of a disease for you to acknowledge that something has health benefits. If an action or inaction helps to prevent a disease, it has a health benefit.

As I said earlier on in the OP, some bet shops in my location have no window for ventilation and people are always crowded. This does not dispute the fact that others have a healthy atmosphere. Nevertheless, I prefer to prevent disease if I have an option than to expose myself to it because of physical gambling. That's my choice and it makes a lot of sense to me.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VanEck, GrayScale, Fidelity and others Now on Google Ads. on: February 03, 2024, 12:34:08 PM
Disregarding the fact that Google is showing sponsored ads by these ETF's I find it surprising
actually that these companies would need to have adverts on Google in the first place.

Particularly in the case of Fidelity and Grayscale I find bizzare that they need this exposure, surely
their client base already know about their products including their new Bitcoin ETF?
The ETF market is very competitive with eleven asset management firms and more still coming scrabbling market share. These firms need more exposure to different platforms to attract investors. Even if Fidelity and Grayscale have a massive clientele, they still need more customers. Google is one of the best platforms to advertise because of its large viewership.

Another benefit of using Google is that it is an effective personalized advertisement platform. These firms can easily reach out to Google users who have an interest in the ETF.

Ain't you going to work? Ain't you going for other things outside your home? You can not always be indoor always and you will just want to go out. Ain't you going to restaurant and other places like that? That is just how land based casinos are.

We are no more in the time of COVID-19. Why are you talking like this?

But for someone that has been advised to stay away from crowdy places, he supposed not to be going to land based casinos. But for a healthy person, it is not bad.
If you check the original post I never said we should avoid land based casino, but I just identified a benefit of online gambling.  I also didn't say that you will contract disease if you play in a physical casino, I just talk about my neighbor and how he is exposing others to medical problems. I just took a position that due to my experience,  online casino is my preferred choice for now.

Your post is all about avoiding crowd, this I don't consider a big deal because gambling shop is one of the least crowded places I know. Stadium, schools, hospitals and Man other social gathering have more crowd. So I don't see why this should be a problem for a gambler.
 online.
Are you sure you read the original post? How would you conclude that the post is all about avoiding crowded places? The post is all about one benefit of gambling online and not about avoiding crowded places. There is no way one can avoid overcrowded places but I will choose an alternative to avoid such places. I was just emphasizing that if you are an online gambler you don't have such concerns.
488  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VanEck, GrayScale, Fidelity and others Now on Google Ads. on: February 02, 2024, 09:57:52 PM
I don't know if another user has beat me to this, but I am particularly happy to announce to the bitcoin community that VanEck, GrayScale, Fidelity and some other fund manager have started advertising their bitcoin spot ETFs on google as seen in the screenshot above.
Google recently changed its rules so that crypto firms can advertise their products and services. Before now Google highly restricted crypto advertisements for fear of scams. Google has made some rules to check scams and it also seems they also want to make money from these ETF asset managers.

I don't know what or how you guys perceive this, but I am particularly bullish on this one, I think the coming bull run will be massive, another opportunity for us all the generate life changing profits, I hope we all are well positioned???  No one should miss this coming bull run for whatever reason.
Everyone is expecting Bitcoin to get a new ATH and some long-term holders have already started making a profit. The major things that can make one miss the opportunity is lack of funds, procrastination, and impatience. Some people don't have funds to invest so they will miss out on this opportunity. While some persons might be impatient and sell before time, many will be postponing when to buy.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion || Current Topic: AFCON 2023 on: February 02, 2024, 09:27:51 PM
Finally Nigeria have make it to the next stage, am really happy to see this wonderful achievement, Nigeria winning Angola was not a surprise to me because Nigeria are stronger than Angola and again Angola are distracted with the gift and promises, if really they allowed them to play with out making all such of noises at least they can perform better than this, I knew they will say they are motivating them which is good one but what if the opponent are stronger then you are forcing them to die, those promiser were thinking they want to motivate them but not knowing that they are pushing them to their easily grave, No matter what Angola can't win Nigeria with their current squad against Nigeria squad, I really salute the coach for trying his efforts to bring out best in them.
People who underrated Angola is not good students of history because they forgot that it was the Palancas Negras that made Nigeria miss the World Cup when they won the Eagles 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier in June 2004. The match today was not even easy for the Nigerians because Angola would have also won the match because they also had some clear goal-scoring shots that were denied by Stanley Nwabali and the goalpost. I don't think the money the Angolan side was promised contributed to their high performance, the side is a good side that can beat any team in Africa.

Nigerian coach seems to have learned the Nigerian traditional playing pattern. The typical Nigerian side slows the game and plays defensive but has sharp attackers (especially wingers) who can break free or capitalize on any defensive error. I like the spirit of the Nigerian team because they look hungry to win the competition. You could see all the players including Victor Osimhen playing defensively always coming back to help the defense.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Another health benefit of online gambling on: February 02, 2024, 08:57:45 PM
My neighbor has tuberculosis and from the information I gathered from a reliable source, his case is so severe. He is at the lung cavitation stage of the disease and he has been advised to avoid overcrowded environments for his health and the safety of others. But my neighbor who is a responsible gambler will always visit physical betting shops. Some physical gambling shops in my area are poorly ventilated and they could be overcrowded and stuffy. Sometimes you could see that he is struggling to remain in the casino shop and such cases he would be coughing heavily. I have told him to focus on online gambling but he told me that he is more entertained in physical bet shops.

Betting with online gambling firms will shield you from contracting communicable diseases because you are all alone in a comfortable atmosphere. My neighbor's behavior has made me focus only on crypto casinos because I am scared of my health. Don't get me wrong there are many well-built and very comfortable physical casinos that offer quality services, but when you are an online gambler you will not need to worry about the health concerns of fellow gamblers.

492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At a range of 2years, can a Bitcoin literate invest with a borrowed fund in BTC? on: February 01, 2024, 09:09:40 AM
Hmm.... Please does it sound good quite understanding the volatility nature in the Bitcoin industry?
I assume that this loan is without interest which is very good for business. Trading is a very risky section of Bitcoin business and it needs special skills or expertise to be successful in that area. He could lose all the borrowed funds within a short period if he is not proficient in trading.  I would have suggested that your friend consider buying and hodling Bitcoin for a long time. He might make some profit if the price appreciates. However, two years is not a long period to invest in Bitcoin.

I am not a fan of taking loans to invest in any business because it is risky. The crypto space is one of the most volatile investment platforms, so it would be better to invest with your funds. It shouldn't be just your funds but the part of it you can afford to live without or even lose.
Your friend should look for other sources of raising capital maybe by getting an extra job or selling a personal belonging.
493  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [Warning] AllaKore RAT Targets Mexican Banks and Cryptocurrency Platforms on: February 01, 2024, 08:51:19 AM
This is just a warning to our Mexican members or those who are in Latin-American. I know that there are a lot of respected members here and maybe they can share this.
Although it was reported by the article OP quoted that these attackers are mostly interested in big organisations that are worth over USD 100M, it is still a wake-up call for everyone and not just people who reside in Mexico and Latin America. Most of these attackers have a wide-range network that operates globally and they can also target individuals and smaller organisations in the future.

It is scary that such an attack has lasted for over two years now and there seems to be no ending to these attacks. Big organisations need to invest more funds in cybersecurity because attacks will cost them more losses. The only reason why these attacks are still reoccurring is because these organisations have not sought the services of renowned cybersecurity companies. Maybe they could get a good cybersecurity expert from this forum Cheesy.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: February 01, 2024, 08:13:41 AM
Inter really have two big games to play consecutively. However I believe Inter will win both of the games against Juventus and Roma. Juventus would be a much bigger challenge as they have a really solid defense. They have conceded nearly the same amount of goals with Inter in the league so far. They should be better at resisting.
Inter game against Juventus will be decisive because it will determine how far both teams will hold onto the top spot. Inter has a team that is scoring goals because of an outstanding striking force and they have also conceived fewer goals than Juventus. Scoring 50 goals and letting in just 10 is a convincing performance of a future champion. Juventus knows that a loss will widen the gap and will become difficult for them to recover. But a draw might be a comfortable score for both teams and it will move the chase for the league trophy to other games.

Quote
Roma are in a new period with Daniele De Rossi now. He won the two league games he managed so far. But both of them were against much weaker teams. We don't know their strength against big teams yet. But I don't know if they would make great progress about that too in a short time. At least against Inter their job is very difficult.  Sad
It is too early to believe that Daniele De Rossi is the right coach for Roma but the results so far are showing it slightly. I was not impressed with their performance in the last game with Salernitana because they created fewer goalscoring opportunities, The host would have won the game if they had taken the chances they created. However, Roma was clinical and maximized the few opportunities they had. But the team has really improved in its coordination and tactics.
495  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 01, 2024, 07:34:44 AM
Spending $90 monthly on cigarettes is a big waste of funds. I smoke but don't spend as much as that because I am not highly dedicated to it. I can smoke twice a day and I am fine. Saving that amount from cigarettes monthly and investing it in Bitcoin is a good decision because it will help you accumulate more Bitcoin through DCA.

Quitting smoking will not just save money from the cost of buying it but the money you spend on your health and others. Some smokers tend to hang out with friends frequently and it could make them spend money on drinks and others. Your wife was right about you smoking in the presence of your kids. We should be good examples to our children and not teach them harmful habits like smoking. I have never smoked in the presence of my wife or children because they can easily follow in my footsteps.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JP Morgan Chase are participating in 5 categories of cryptocurrency. Jamie lies! on: February 01, 2024, 07:18:30 AM
Hahaha yeah, I remember the recent news or interview about Jamie Dimon where he talks negatively about Bitcoin again.
And then you see this which they are a huge institution that really adopting Bitcoin.

That's why I said recently from his interview that he is spreading again FUD so they can buy more cheap Bitcoins.
It is a free world and everybody can say whatever about Bitcoin. I feel sorry for people who take the statements of people like Jamie Dimon seriously. He has consistently told people not to invest in Bitcoin but it is hypocritical to know that JPMorgan Chase is investing heavily in the crypto sector. Businessmen cannot be trusted because they can do anything for profit.

This is also the stance of fellow American Billionaire Warren Buffet who is a strong critic of Bitcoin. Meanwhile, it was discovered recently that Berkshire Hathaway is a major shareholder in a Latin American digital bank called Nu Holdings. This bank has launched several crypto-related services and is a well-known crypto-friendly bank in Latin America. Warren called Bitcoin rat poison, while Jamie pet rock, yet they are still investing and making profit from the industry, FUD mongers!!!.
497  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: In the Future All Crypto Exchanges Will Become Decentralized - Justin Sun on: January 31, 2024, 12:18:29 PM
https://news.bitcoin.com/in-the-future-all-crypto-exchanges-will-become-decentralized-justin-sun-founder-of-tron-and-advisor-to-htx/
"The conversation then moved to the ongoing debate between decentralized and centralized exchanges, emphasizing the crucial role of transparency and decentralization in cryptocurrency platforms. Justin further illuminated the concept of democratic governance for cryptocurrency exchanges. The episode concluded with a discussion on the emergence of new governance platforms, with HTX DAO serving as a prime example."

Do you believe this?
The most likely thing we will see is the use of cryptocurrency on decentralized exchanges.

https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2024/01/24/solana-delivers-token-extensions-to-attract-enterprise-blockchain-builders/
"There are five extensions that developers can mix and match, according to briefing materials reviewed by CoinDesk.
Transfer hooks: Any time a token is transferred a "transfer hook" will invoke a program that checks whether that transfer is permissible, and revoke the transfer if it's not."
I have an opposite prediction of the view of Justin Sun. I think the government will soon begin to clamp down on decentralized platforms to enable them to gain control over the crypto industry. They intend to achieve control by enacting strict regulatory laws that might force these exchanges to give out the details of their users.

The Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) in the US  is an example of such a move. This law mandates decentralized exchanges to report details of any transaction that is deemed suspicious. This law will make DEXs go through the same money laundering and anti-terrorism regulations that CEXs undergo. Any decentralized platforms that refuse to abide by these laws might be banned from operating in such countries.

This is very important and should be use first before making any post or commenting this help a lot in editing your post and replies.

I gist this some best ways also to feel free when writing or editing text.
It’s has been for help to top and higher ranks on the forums.

It also serves as pen and paper when you are not close to them
It is very useful to in the laptops, desktop
It can be esay use when you have some writeups to make.
Using a notepad might be convenient for you but that's not the case for others. I think it is time-wasting to use in making posts on the forum because other options could enable you to correct your posts. I don't know how you got the information that many high-ranking members use notepads or are you just assuming? This is another case of a newbie teaching what he is unsure of. I am suggesting that you consider using a grammar checker to edit your post because the notepad you recommend is not helping you produce quality post.  Your post is filled with many typographical and grammatical errors.
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: January 31, 2024, 08:50:28 AM
A lot of people have been clamoring about how gambling has ruined their life but same gambling has set some people up for life, just like every other form of investment there must always be a profit or a loss.  And life is so balanced that what works for Mr A might not be the same that works for Mr B. Likewise in gambling,  while some are crying about their loss they are some who are smiling and celebrating their win.
Gambling is for mature minds and not for irresponsible people. I think this is the reason why there is a minimum age limit people should attain before they are allowed to gamble. An understanding that gambling is unpredictable will help people understand that they might win today and lose the next time they bet. Most people who lament about their loss are people who gamble more than they can afford to lose.

Gambling has been seen as a very dangerous thing base on some people's point of view here in the forum whereas in reality it has given some people the capital to start what ever business they want to do. My point in this post is that we shouldn’t just paint gambling all black because some people have fail to stick to the discipline of gambling.
Gamble is not dangerous it is simply risky. You risk your money to get fun and more money. This is a forum and you cannot stop people from sharing their gambling experience. Anyway anybody who concludes that gambling is bad is ignorant because it has so many benefits if handled responsibly. If one can control his gambling activities, such a person will find it interesting.

I believe that before one make a decision in life, they should've already weighed the consequences of making the right or wrong choice, then put their fate on luck coupled with their little knowledge concerning what they're about to decide on, so why complain and play the blame game when things go wrong? "Share your thought on how gambling has come through for you if you got any".
Gamble for me is a game that gives me fun as I also expect to make some profit. It has never had any negative consequences on my finances, health, family relationships, and other areas of my life. I try as much as possible to gamble within my means and this is done by following strictly my gambling plan.

If this warrior situation is not calm then what is the worst course for the people of the world.
Looking forward to thoughtful feedback. How Bitcoin can help in this case. I think Bitcoin is the strongest currency in the world
Since Bitcoin is decentralized, it could help people to engage in financial transactions even when the war has collapsed traditional banking systems. Locals in wartorn nations could still buy goods using Bitcoin from shops that accept the coin. During the early stage of the war in Ukraine, several agencies donated Bitcoin to several NGOs to enable them to help people affected by the war.

Bitcoin could also help to invade sanctions since it could bypass SWIFT. There were reports that some countries sanctioned by NATO and its allies receive funds in the form of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin could also assist fleeing refugees who owns Bitcoin because they can still use this crypto freely in the the country they are seeking refuge.
