481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many bitcoin you are holding? on: February 05, 2024, 07:50:23 PM
Privacy! Privacy!! Privacy!!!
Sometimes privacy requires simple instincts or as some would say "Common sense".
I don't think anyone would be so stupid enough to come here and give such information.

BTC & what is your future plan on next bullrun?
And I guess this part is just a disguise to make it look like a normal discussion right?
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 05, 2024, 05:18:36 PM
It's not stupidity now let me tell you why.
A lot of Bitcoin users have over $10,000 worth of Bitcoin on their online wallets and not a cold wallet now this is because people like this are business persons who transact constantly with Bitcoin and putting it on a hardware wallet will make it more difficult for them to make quick transactions.

The cautions that come with using an online open source wallet like Electrum is mainly to keep your keys and seeds safe. The only problem is that when your keys are online they are more easily compromised than when they are stored offline. One has to even be careful when storing keys offline as theft and burglary can also compromise them.

Majority of people that use cold wallets for Their Bitcoins actually do it for their hodlings since they don't have to visit it frequently.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not everyone deserves to hear of your winning in gambling. on: February 05, 2024, 04:54:53 PM
Of course gambling wins are exciting and come sometimes with logical celebrations. However it is not a proper practice to make ones gambling wins drive him to gamble more or gamble less. Yes some gambling activities are based mainly on analytical skills and experience but it still always has a percentage dedicated to luck.

Now when we make some money whether through gambling or not, most of the time we can get so excited we tend to break the news to a whole bunch of persons. But the truth is not all of these persons are happy when they see you happy especially when it comes to you hitting a jackpot. Due to this reason some of this persons may want to harm you directly or indirectly because they envy you. Therefore I think it is best that when sharing news of your winnings if necessary, you try as much as possible to keep the circle small.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another health benefit of online gambling on: February 05, 2024, 04:44:12 PM
Both online gambling and offline gambling activities have their advantages and disadvantages. Some persons prefer offline gambling far more than online gambling based on their personal preferences. Like I have come across a couple of gamblers who prefer offline gambling just because they are scared of scam casinos out there on the web.

Anyways, alot of people prefer online gambling because of some important factors like convenience. Online gambling to some persons appear as a less stressful option which logically seems to be true because if you think about it you will notice that you can easily have fun gambling online no matter your location just as long as you have an internet connection.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you make gambling a profession - a full time job on: February 05, 2024, 04:35:31 PM
Yes it is possible for gambling to be a profession but the fact if it is logically right or wrong now depends on what role you play in the gambling space making it your profession. Now it is ok for someone to be a staff at a casino or in other words , it is ok for someone to be a professional full time worker at an organization which offers gambling services. This should not be considered a wrong move as it should be seen like a normal profession even if the person gambles at intervals.

Now when it comes to taking gambling as a full time job probably because you are unemployed and depend solely on it for your income, it should be considered wrong. As such a per will have to gamble too frequently to meet their financial needs which could make them become addicts.

487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: February 04, 2024, 12:13:02 AM
Definitely when someone is emotionally unstable they tend to lose in gambling activities. This is usually due to the fact that when someone is emotionally drained they can easily make wrong decisions and when it comes to gambling such wrong decisions can cause a great deal of loss.
When some people are emotionally unstable they may stake too high or too low causing their winning chances to drop. However these chances of winning can still be increased in games where one can input both calculations and experience. Unfortunately an emotionally unstable person may end up making mistakes In those areas too.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there Casinos that offer Birthday Bonuses to their users? on: February 03, 2024, 08:36:10 PM
On a normal basis, most casinos usually create nice promotional offers , Cashbacks and many bonuses of other kinds. But when it comes to bonuses on special days to users like birthdays, I have never come across one. The only multiple cases I have seen are bonuses on days that are of general celebrations like new year and Christmas holidays.

For a casino especially an online one to be able to give bonuses to users on their birthdays, logically those customers should have done KYCs for the casino to be aware of their date of birth. And since many users here try to avoid KYC, I don't think it's something they have also experienced.
489  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 03, 2024, 07:21:40 AM
A majority of gambling activities is all about luck and experience. Some people believe the spiritual can actually affect luck however I believe it doesn't work that way. If a gamble is truly luck based, the fact if you Will actually win or loss is based on chances.
It may seem to work for some persons that when they go have a session with the seer they will get to see future bets that will be profitable and then use them to make wins consecutively.

However the fact is if a bet depends solely on luck, if karma already had it that you will win you will and if karma has it that you will lose, you would actually lose. In some cases people believe if they pray for luck they will win but some others don't believe so.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: February 03, 2024, 06:46:47 AM
This is a nice piece of article but to be sincere how many core gamblers will take their time to read through and most of all how many will actually use it as a guide during gambling activities. The biggest issue with gambling people face is because of the way they view it. A lot of gamblers see gambling as an avenue to make more money, some see it as a job (especially the addicts)while some others see it as a normal fun and game act which is actually the best view approach.
Every piece of information in that article all goes down to " reason " which in turn is accompanied by discipline. When a person takes gambling as just a fun game, they will definitely have boundaries and limits to things they can do when they gamble.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 03, 2024, 06:37:16 AM
Hating yourself after making a gambling stake or hating yourself after a gambling attempt is not supposed to be so. A lot of people regret or hate themselves after making a stake especially when the lose the bet or some other persons may also get angry when the place a bet and won despite the odds and wish they had staked more.
The reason most of these persons end up hating themselves is because they had probably staked more than they can afford to lose and actually still lost the bet. If a gambler continues to stake in that manner they end up being an addict. Gambling is supposed to be a fun act unfortunately it isn't for most people.

Don't care about your rank - ignore it, you'll get it. You know exactly how the system works - so increase your patience and spend more quality time checking your rank. I know that we are happy when we rank up - it is an new historical milestone, but it is good not to focus on the rank but to focus on what you can do.

If you focus on rank - then it is very possible for you to post something to get merit. IMO - that's never good for your psychology, so take the advice and do your best without any pressure.
Thanks for the advice guess I've been thinking too much about it.
I'll take a break then, and continue with making quality contributions. The rank will definitely come.

Hahaha Pi-network314159 I am not actually nagging. I was only feeling kind of down before anyways as I read through, motivations and advices from forum members through this thread has actually helped me get over it.
Thanks to everyone who replied in this Thread. I guess I will lock the thread now.
Once again thanks guys you cheered Mia up Cheesy.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin be stolen? on: February 02, 2024, 02:27:57 PM
Yes it is an asset a digital one for that matter so it can be stolen

All the hacker has to do is get hold of your private keys or seed phrase and they can sweep the funds to their personal wallet.

After that they can even use mixers and other privacy measures to mask any traces of the coins.

So "Don't forget to keep your keys safe mate"

You can even store you seed offline for it is a safer choice.
494  Other / Meta / Re: [SAD] activity on: February 02, 2024, 02:16:03 PM
OП, вы xopoшo двигaeтec, I wish you a speedy surprise. Smiley
Thanks I will definitely input my best  Cheesy here.
You and other reputable members here are more of a source of motivation to members like me. Seeing people like you make meaningful contributions on the forum also moves me to make nice contributions also. As waking up and logging in to see a new rank  always puts a smile on my face I believe that is same for others too.

495  Other / Meta / Re: [SAD] activity on: February 02, 2024, 09:30:23 AM
This is indeed the most important thing. I am also waiting to become Hero Member, since I have already gathered the merits needed. But, meanwhile, I have decided to challenge myself to get the merits needed for Legendary rank, before I become Hero member. Just for fun  Tongue

Hahaha luxurious problems Grin .
 you are a nice programmer apogio and definitely deserve the rank. Hmmm I guess i will do like you are aiming 😁 I will try getting to hero member merit before I get to senior member.
496  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: January 31, 2024, 11:38:05 AM
It is normal human nature to always try to shift blame when something doesn't go as intended or planned and same thing applies when it comes to gambling. Many a time, when some gamblers lose stakes they end up attributing blame in one way or the other however it is of no use. More experienced gamblers in same situation also feel the pain of losing but accept the fact that they lost.
Refusing to accept the fact that one lost a stake based on your personal decision can cause such person to possibly make mistakes in their next stake making them to lose.
497  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make sure to avoid wasting BTC for too high fees – step by step guide (Electrum) on: January 30, 2024, 11:20:51 PM
I am glad the update was accepted.
Alright I will promptly provide updates for this thread anytime there is a necessary change in the Electrum interface when there is a newer version.
I will also see to updating my pigin translation based on the new Op as soon as possible.
498  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Make sure to avoid wasting BTC for too high fees – step by step guide (Electrum) on: January 30, 2024, 09:44:33 PM
Here is an update to the whole thread for the latest  version of electrum. I embeded it in a code element so all you have to do is copy and paste it as a replacement in your op.
Code:
Every Bitcoin transaction needs a transaction fee, so it is very important to keep it as low as possible while to ensure that the transaction arrives at the receiver in a timely manner. The speed of a transaction depends on how much fees you pay for it. These fees are indicated in Satoshi per byte (sat / byte). The higher the fee in sat / byte, the higher the likelihood that your transaction will be included in the next block. The miners select the transactions always according to the amount of transaction fees (sat / byte). This is logical, because the miners receive not only the block reward but also the transaction fees for all transactions included in the mined block.

Not every wallet allows you to adjust the transaction fees manually and even those who can do it have often very simplified default settings (and are too expensive). A good wallet that allows you to set transaction fees manually is Electrum.

After you've switched the settings, it is important to find out the optimal amount of transaction fees, which can be done on reliable and accurate websites. But at first you need to enable customized fees.

For this guide I'm using [url=https://electrum.org/#home]Electrum[/url] and the [url=https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h]Mempool by Jochen Hoenicke[/url].

So, you are only a few simple steps away from saving valuable Bitcoin:

[size=12pt][b]1.[/b] [/size]

First, open your wallet in Electrum. Now let's start by making your wallet easier to surf through by using shortcuts. Now click on view on the top right corner and click the shortcuts you want as shown in the image below. In this guide I selected all of them.

[img]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/30/kBc6I.jpeg[/img]

[hr]

[size=12pt][b]2.[/b] [/size]

Now on older versions of electrum, you can edit fees manually on Electrum through the tools and preferences menu ,however on the most recent version you can't. The only way to customize your fees is to actually attempt a transaction. Now all you have to do is fill in the required wallet address and amount then proceed to hit[b] pay[/b]. The window below should appear.

[img]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/30/kgVY8.jpeg[/img]

[hr]

[size=12pt][b]3.[/b] [/size]

Now you will notice that you can only adjust the fee via the slider which is not good enough. To be able to edit your fees manually click on the icon indicated in the image below.

[img]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/30/kBhjd.jpeg[/img]

[hr]

[size=12pt][b]4.[/b] [/size]

Now if you successfully completed step 3, the mini window bar below with checkable settings should appear.

[img]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/30/kBjFv.jpeg[/img]

[hr]

[size=12pt][b]5.[/b] [/size]

Now all you have to do is select the options you prefer for your transactions. However make sure to select [i]Edit fees manually [/i].

[img]https://www.talkimg.com/images/2024/01/30/kBroH.jpeg[/img]

[hr]

[size=12pt][b]6.[/b] [/size]

Now you will notice that in addition to the slider you now have two check boxes for editing fees as shown in the image below. With the the box highlighted in green below, you can edit fees by manually typing your desired fee rate in sat/byte. While the with the box highlighted in red you can fill in how much fees you want to pay in BTC or mBTC.

[hr]

[size=12pt][b]7.[/b] [/size]

Finally, you’ll have to find out how much fees are necessary for your transaction. You can find it out when you follow the next steps:

There are several ways to determine the current transaction fee.
Of which  one way is to check ; [url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5478905.0]Mempool Observer Topic[/url] and observe possible fees by the [url=https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3601165] FeeBuddy [/url] bot.

Another nice way right now is to have a direct look to the Bitcoin Mempool. The Mempool is not a pool where the best memes are collected, but it represents the Bitcoin transactions waiting for confirmation. So a full Mempool means a high fee to send the transaction quickly, because many transactions are waiting for confirmation and compete to get included in the next block (only those having the highest transaction fees are selected for the next block until it’s full), while an almost empty Mempool is optimal to get your transaction confirmed paying only a low fee.

A good picture of the Mempool can be found on the page of Jochen Hoenicke: https://jochen-hoenicke.de/queue/#0,24h.

On the website you can choose different time intervals where you can analyze the Mempool. There are 3 different graphs in total:
- Unconfirmed Transaction Count (Mempool)
- Pending transaction fee in BTC
- Mempool Size in MB

For our consideration, the first and the last graph are suitable, while the last graph is more effective for our purpose, as it shows the actual size of the Mempool in MB. Because sometimes it happens that very large transactions (in bytes) are waiting in the Mempool, which are listed in the first graph as a single transaction but need a lot of size (because they have many inputs, for example or are many non-SegWit transactions).
But after all, the graphs are very similar:

Unconfirmed Transaction Count (Mempool):

[img]https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/07/trmrZ.jpeg[/img]

[hr]

Mempool Size in MB:

[img]https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/07/tr6O8.jpeg[/img]

When you move your mouse across the graph, you can see which line represents how many satoshi per byte (sat / byte). This will allow you to estimate how much transaction fees you need to use for your transaction. You should also look back a bit in the past, how much MB of transactions was waiting the last few hours and whether the Mempool was generally emptied regularly. Then, it is reasonable to choose only a few satoshi per byte. Of course, it depends on how fast you have to send the transaction. If it is not necessary, it is advisable to wait or to send with a lower fee, which you think is realistic in the next few hours.

The big unknown variable is when the next block will be found. In rare cases, it may take more than an hour between two consecutive blocks. Then, many transactions accumulate which have to be included in the next blocks and until then a lot of time can pass. In addition, it is possible that many new transactions enter the Mempool in the meantime and if they have a higher fee than yours, they are included into a new block instead of your ones. So, there is also a risk of choosing a low transaction fee.

In addition, you should always check the transaction volume during past days. There are certain, frequently recurring patterns:

[img]https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/07/trRC3.jpeg[/img]

- After around 08:00 CET, the transaction volume tends to increase, around 23:00 the Mempool empties gradually (these times can vary, sometimes it’s starting earlier, sometimes later)
- Between 02:00 and 08:00 CET is the best time to send Bitcoin, when the Mempool is emptied regularly
- Monday is often the busiest time
- During the weekend the Mempool is usually much emptier than during the week, even at rush hour

Keep in mind that these patterns may change at any time, especially when BTC is increasing in price, many users doing transactions, so the fees will most likely also increase.

[hr]

And finally, a short example:

Currently it was 01:00 CET here (night) when I made the screenshot, the Mempool is showing the following picture (daily overview):
[img]https://talkimg.com/images/2023/11/07/trti9.jpeg[/img]

It was Monday, so the transaction volume during the day was very high as expected. But currently, the Mempool is now almost empty again. It can be assumed that it will be empty several times tonight as in the previous week and it’s still the whole night left.

If you look at the size of all transactions in the Mempool by moving your mouse across the graph, you will see that the last block wasn’t completely full (approx. 0.55 MB (normally more than 1 MB fits into a block)). At this point, I would choose 2 satoshi / byte and the probability will be very high that this transaction gets already included in the next block.

And when you have a look at the graph you’ll also notice some transactions using a fee way too high… They had sent their transaction with more than 100 satoshi / byte, although a fee of only 2 satoshi / byte would have been enough to get the transaction into the next block. ^^

499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Know when to stop on: January 30, 2024, 03:51:58 PM
In the end, just make sure you have a brain to think with your logic, if you don't have a brain or your brain stop stopped working, I'm not surprised if someone end up become a gambling addict.

To know if gambling affect your personality and your life, just ask to people around you and if you have something that you're not fulfilled due to not enough money, you can make try to evaluate yourself.

Sometimes gamblers let their emotions conceal their ability to know when to stop gambling or staking. Sometimes when such persons make gambling stakes and lose , the tend to stake angrily again and again and before they know what is going on they had already staked way above their budget.
For gambling activities that requires a lot of calculations and reasoning for surer wins , the problem can even become worse because such emotional rush can even cause the gambler not to think straight and hence lose consecutively.
500  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: January 30, 2024, 03:46:30 PM
It's good to have a source of income at first before you start gambling but I want to talk about this even more, do you know that even with your source of income you might be at one spot and not move forward?
Firstly it is unwise to not have a source of income and yet gamble. Most people who gamble without an income source overtime, make gambling their source of income which is practically an unhealthy practice. This is because people of this nature will try to do whatever it takes to gamble just so they can meet their monetary needs , making most of them turn out to become Gambling Addicts.

Even as a person with source of income, you are still advised to gamble responsibly this is to avoid such a person from losing his job or even worse, going bankrupt which will not only affect the gambler in question but also his family members either directly or indirectly.
