481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin in a Cashless Society on: February 04, 2024, 02:50:00 PM
If you think this will happen sooner or later then surprising how people still use bitcoin for transaction purpose so this should not be something new cause I have actually seen people pay with bitcoin, even with this idea it doesn't necessary mean people should abandon using fiat cause a lot of bitcoin enthusiasts choose to hold bitcoin for investment purpose etc. Op, your idea is great but you should deviate this idea to something else not fiat and bitcoin, there's no comparison so let's not make a big deal from this.
I will prefer to store my bitcoin rather than using it for transaction purpose to buy food stuffs, I read a similar topic here and the op was criticizing a tenant who used bitcoin as means of paying rent instead of storing it, to be sincere in as much as we need the adoption of bitcoin to increase this is not the right way to do such. Don't even dream of a cashless society cause a lot of people will find other alternative.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: February 04, 2024, 02:08:14 PM
If we should start considering people's view about crypto or bitcoin then we will hear different opinions and sometimes those opinions are not valid so it's best to focus on how they can adopt and know more about bitcoin.
Some might tag such investment as a get rich scheme, scam scheme due to past experience dealing with the internet, most people tag the internet as something that's related to scammers but this is not actually right, people like this have refused to grow their mindset that's why we still hear stories and lament about scammers. Bitcoin has come to stay and with the adoption increase it shows people have accepted the fact that bitcoin investment can be use to store wealth for future purpose.
483  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Does Bitcoin need advertisment? on: February 04, 2024, 07:50:25 AM
It is just like asking if coke needs advertisement, secondly, there is a say in my dialect that says a good market sells itself and this is where Bitcoin's 15 years of existence has taken it to, and at these current stage of adoption and popularity that Bitcoin have gotten, it no longer needs advertising to continue its existence, not that people won't continue to be Bitcoin advocate, but it will now have little impact to the rate of adoption.

This word strong well well ooo but Bitcoin never reach to dey use compare with coke because right now I no sure say e get any country wey no dey accept coke but so many countries never still dey accept Bitcoin for payment including our country Nigeria. Even though say Bitcoin don stay up to the years wey you mention here I feel say e never really dey very popular like that and I believe say the more we dey advertise am dey tell people everyday the more people all over the world dey know about am.E go shock you say e get some people wey no even know wetin Bitcoin be even as we speak now so the more we talk about Bitcoin I believe say more people go see more reason to invest in Bitcoin.
Have you by any chance thought about bitcoin and how bitcoin gain popularity or rather how you take hear about bitcoin, some people don hear but them no feel like to accept am, one thing I will always tell people is don't discriminate any thing that has to do with new technology cause the world don dey change and it's best you accept the change.
Any person wey never hear about bitcoin for now no dey use social media or rather you're referring to old people wey no get interest, every social media platform dey talk about crypto almost everyday and person go use social media talk say bitcoin dey strange. Bitcoin adoption depends on the view and how people see am no be only to hear.
484  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can government track us. on: February 03, 2024, 09:24:31 PM
The answer to your question depends on the kind of crime you're referring to and secondly if you're referring to common offence then there's no point tracking you, do you know the number of people on social media that talks bad on the government and their policy, some even make mockery words but still there's no such. Back to your question, the government can track you anytime, day etc. Even our phones and simcard has our private information, NIN etc so you thinking the government can't track you sounds funny.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have a "gambling problem" which you can sometimes control for years? on: February 03, 2024, 08:04:36 PM
(First question was above)
(Second question) Either way, when it's time to stop, how exactly do you do it? (For example) Change other habits, go new places, exercise more, stop drinking, simply "swear off" gambling... How exactly do you stop? Thank you.
First question, if I may ask how does this addiction work for few people, anytime I keep facing challenges with something I will prefer to quit, it's always best to quit before it's too late.
Second question, if this act has turned to an addiction then it's too late or rather the person is willing to change, the idea of getting busy with work can stop this act, a jobless person should find something doing and get busy with the work, in essence keep yourself and mind out from gambling and focus more on work. There's no solution to gambling addiction but I have seen people who escaped from such and each time I ask they'll always respond with build your mind, so I think the mind really play a big role in humans mostly the ability to resist an act.
486  Other / Off-topic / Re: Before you start gambling, do some research first on: February 03, 2024, 07:41:49 PM
If this person in question keeps insisting and he can't resist such urge then this might be difficult to handle. I believe people like this also want to change cause there's no life for him if he keeps continuing like this.
In my opinion let him learn the hard way so he will change for good, you can't force anyone to change their lifestyle neither the way they think so he should learn his lessons by himself.
You can't actually change him but you can introduce an investment that can help in terms of storing wealth for future purpose. People like this should always have an investment for future purpose cause they lack the idea to save.

488  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time for Jupiter (JUP)!!!! on: February 02, 2024, 09:40:57 PM
https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/jupiter

What you think about this token? Been a big big build up and talk about this and a extreme hype for a very long time now and finally we soon ready for launch.
Will it be a success or a failure? However, be aware and be ready. This will be fun to follow!  Grin

Disclaimer: This is not a financial advice in any way, if you gonna invest in this coin it's on your own risk and do your own research and I don't stand behind the Jupiter team in any way.

It is very difficult and challenging to predict performance of any new coin or token that is going to be launched and listed on various exchanges. Jupiter being a Solana based platform may benefit from popularity of Solana and its associated protocols on its chain. Considering this context, Jupiter is likely to demonstrate strong performance, and provide good returns to its investors.
if so, the fact is that it is good for cryptocurrency enthusiasts there is a new buzz which is definitely very pleasant and will be profitable too.
You should never be in haste to invest especially when the coin is over hyped, not all crypto enthusiasts deal with newly coins and if probably why not invest with liitle amount first, have seen the coin and I never cared to pay attention and seeing it here still doesn't give full guarantee, I will advice, as an investor even with others opinion make your research first so you know what you're actually doing.
Dear op, if you think this coin is so good then you should invest and hold. I strongly believe the future of Jupiter lies in Solana, looking at the marketcap it's not a bad idea choosing Jupiter but it should be from your own will.
489  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Which one dey pain pass? on: February 02, 2024, 08:17:47 PM
I never experience this wahala but if this one happen and I sure say e no go happen but for example, I will feel so pained especially the sending of coin to a wrong address, this one go really pain, even the time I transfer money and airtime to a wrong person the wahala pain me talkless of coin. I believe people wey dey actually make this mistake go get solution to the problem but for some cases the coin don go. I see one thread for beginners and help wey the person mistakenly send coin give forum member and the person send the coin back, this is just simple like if you make such mistake and the person receiving the money no wicked then you're lucky.
The second wahala really big and if coin miss like that if there's no solution and lack of proper investigation to know how the thing happen then it's likely another coin go definitely loss again, na carelessness na dey cause all this things and make everybody dey guarded with their coins.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 02, 2024, 07:59:10 PM
Gambling addiction has a regulation method if only they'll change and gamble for fun, although gambling for fun doesn't come so easy and it takes an independent man to quit and bet responsible.
The aspect of little kids growing up with such mentality is just too bad and parents who get involve and expose this act to their kids are doing the wrong thing, sometimes they do send their kids to visit the gambling shop and it sounds funny but I have seen such in my locality, gambling is not bad but when it turns to an addiction then it needs to be regulated.
Violence, violence should be the common enemy of every gambler cause this can lead to something worse, after taking a loan to bet and the game never went as you planned, this should be painful to the extend people commit murder just because of depression, have seen several stories like this and I believe people like this never wanted to commit murder but the urge just keep coming due to anger issue and it can't be controlled. In my opinion and I always tell every newbie I come across, if you can't control this act it's likely the act will control and suppress you, it's best to avoid gambling at the early stage to prevent unnecessary drama.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to avoid getting rugpulled on: February 02, 2024, 04:38:16 PM
Your list are quite right but just one wrong decision you can destroy the plan and process. This doesn't give full trust about any project cause I have seen few projects that went well from start and all of a sudden the project got crashed and investors where left with no option to accept the fact. Altcoin investment is just took risky to joke with so if you're not ready then don't invest. You can still decide to take those risk and make some profit so it depends on the kind of coins. You listed the step investors should take before buying any coin, I will prefer to buy a coin that has gain trust or rather has influence, secondly don't trust any coin easily with few testimonies we hear online cause those testimonies might be false, sometimes people who share those testimonies are part of the project. When dealing with altcoin we need to be smart
492  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Wetin e mean and how u dey use this slogan on: February 01, 2024, 09:17:54 PM
As I dey reason the word "no gree" many things dey attached to the word and na meaningful word except na person wey no take am serious. No gree for scammers for the crypto space na go one in essence no carry your money play with some coins wey dey serve as scam scheme.
Talking about scammers and transaction, why you give them your attention at the first place, e get some transactions we no suppose do as smart investors and no be every investment choice need our attention, it's best to ignore all of them follow for the no gree for anybody this 2024.
493  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Almost made a bad investment decision today 🥺🥺 on: February 01, 2024, 08:48:47 PM
The best thing now is you've realise your mistake and you should not go back to such again, what's good is you never bought any of those coins or else you'll be regretting.
Make research and even with people's opinion in the forum always make your own research cause I can decide to invest in some random coins and I will just share same information here unknowingly to you, since you heard such coin here you will just decide to invest, this is wrong cause an investor should always make a research before investing.
If this coin we are talking about is so low in terms of quality how did you get to find this coin, never trust a low quality coins with all your resource.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If you had $500, which coins would you choose to buy on: February 01, 2024, 01:03:30 PM
If you had $500, which coins would you choose to buy
If I have such money I will first split the money for my investment, bitcoin, ethereum, BNB, this three should be fine for me, as an investor who doesn't like spreading such huge amount. I will divide the money and bitcoin will probably take the highest amount. This investment is just for long term so I will buy and hold to make profit in the bull market.
With this amount no one should mention any random coin, be sure of what you want and know what you're doing as an investor.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you love and enjoy taking risk? on: February 01, 2024, 12:47:31 PM
During this time, I think I also like to take risks. Because of that, I invest in crypto which basically has a high risk. However, I also have limits to that. I only use money that I can afford to lose, and do not use the main money that I have. However, I like taking risks, but don't like making my family or those closest to me accept those risks. So, I only take risks to a certain extent.
Every investor must have this characteristic of taking risk especially when dealing with an investment that fluctuate (crypto), just because crypto is risky doesn't give room for foolish like some investors will behave, just like what you said is a nice idea, buying at your own risk and use the money you know you can live without. Taking risk also give room for making research and any risk without research is beyond risk besides there's no investment with zero risk, all investment are risky and still beneficial. The only advantage is to be partaker of the benefit involve  Aside from bitcoin investment and ethereum, I don't know for others but I have guarantee of both coind that's why the choosed those two, I can't give full prediction of the market that's what makes the investment a risky one.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When it comes to selling , is it best to convert or sell for cheaper fees? on: February 01, 2024, 12:30:31 PM
I actually think you should make this decision personal because you'll get different kinds of opinion here, in my opinion you should sell those coins first to know the worth and buy according to your desire, although it sounds stressful and paying a double fee also can always discourage an  investor from choosing this method.
I have a friend that sells and buy a lot of coins but I have never seen him using this method of converting the coin but rather he sells to buy new coins and I actually feel this is the best idea.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do low fees matter most in choosing crypto platforms, or other factors? on: February 01, 2024, 10:23:55 AM
When choosing a cryptocurrency platform, do you prioritize seeking out those with lower transaction fees, or do other factors such as security, user interface, or available features take precedence in your decision-making? Share your perspective below and let's discuss the key considerations within our community!

In my opinion all what you listed should be considered before going for the platform, high transaction fees can be a little frustrating and at the same time if the platform lacks security and quality features you're actually playing with your money and the end result will be dramatic.
I will rather choose a platform well secured cause people who run away from high transaction fees and go for low quality we do hear their stories online and how their coin got stolen, in essence even if I'm running from high transaction fees I still make sure I go for the best with security, the two should work together and no one should be exempted.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that are good for long hodling in this season. on: February 01, 2024, 10:10:04 AM
That's reality, if you find the right coin and invest in the right time I'm pretty sure it will be more quicker compared to other form of investment, I guess it's more on how you trust the project and how you do your assessment plus the time that you are consuming to follow the developer whenever they are bringing updates from the project.
Investors must always be updated that's why as an investor we need to develop the habit of research and wanting to know the marketcap always, when dealing with crypto they're some certain inform an investor should never miss.
The coin we choose matters a lot and with the right coin, knowing when to buy and sell will be better. Have seen newly coins but I've not gotten the chance to make any research and I believe this is the right time, it's likely said some altcoins will also experience the bull market so it's time to buy and hold.
499  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for fun vs gambling for the financial benefit. on: February 01, 2024, 06:54:44 AM
We know, we also say that gambling is only for fun it's right. But in the end most of the gamblers I assume they do gamble for financial benefits. Once someone gambles for financial benefits and depends on gambling win/lose to livelihood means he is gambling-addicted.
I can't truly just accept the fact that gambling is actually for fun, we lose our money when gambling so meaning we just enjoy wasting our money even if we have nothing to do with it. On the other hand, anyone who actually does it as a means of earning financially to be able to meet up with cost of living is actually becoming an addict.
Gambling is more like investing in some Altcoins, if it happens to give profits fine and if it doesn't also good but we don't also say we rely on our Altcoins investment to carryout expenses on our cost of living.
I don't agree if gambling is equated with altcoin investment. because altcoins still have clear programs and good management. different from gambling which only relies on the luck factor.
Or is it possible that the altcoin investment you mean here is investing in memecoin?
Altcoin investment and gambling are two different things but they're just too similar in comparison, note not all altcoins but if you're talking about newly tokens or project, investors who invest in those tokens don't know what the end result will look like likewise gambling cause when we place a bet we don't have the full assurance of winning the game.
A lot of investors view altcoin investment as gambling cause the act most investors carry out with some random coins shows that they invest and when the time comes they sell for profit, just like something you invest in for a little time and expect your money to double during that period of time. This act makes people to call Altcoin investment as gambling act.
500  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When I'm emotional, I LOSS! on: February 01, 2024, 06:43:15 AM
Hey, guys! Are any of you emotional gamblers who often lose because you can't control what you feel? When you lose, do you tend to double your bets or chase your losses, driven by a pride that can't accept defeat? Do you consider this a problem? If so, has anyone here been able to solve this kind of problem themselves, and if yes, how did you do it?
I have never experience such but I believe there's a way to stop this act, sometimes the cause of pride can fall a person and this act is just to kill the addict slowly cause why will any gambler play more after loss cause of pride. I'm not surprised cause "pride comes before a fall".
If there's any solution to this problem you should first work on yourself and limit gambling for awhile, don't get involve often but rather gamble when you feel like. Don't get jampacked with all the bet claiming you know it all with full confidence if you do this that's when you'll find it difficult to cope.
