Very cool bags, if I didn't bought a bag a couple of days ago, I would have done it here with Bitcoin.
Maybe next time, I'll bookmark your website. In case something happens with my new bag or I need a new one.
Good luck with the sales!
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are holding Bitcoin? on: November 05, 2017, 01:13:11 PM
I don't see Bitcoin as an asset like many of here do but as a vote for decentralized money system.
Which gives rewards in the form of value increase or profit.
I started with Bitcoin when it was around $100, so it doesn't feel as a loss when the value of Bitcoin decreases from $7500 to $7000.
Bitcoin tends to fluctuate a lot, if you can't handle that then don't buy it.
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin Gold have a block explorer? on: November 05, 2017, 01:05:09 PM
It's not officially launched for public use yet.
25 October was just a snapshot of the current Bitcoin blockchain at that time.
The real 'split' didn't happen on that day, as the client wasn't even ready.
The official public launch will happen after they finished the client and successfully pre-mined 200 thousand coins.
Really bad decision if you ask me.
484  Other / Meta / Re: Is there a study guide here in the forum? on: November 05, 2017, 12:51:17 PM
Welcome to the forum!
The beginners section is a good thing to start, like other members mentioned.
Then if you want to learn more about the technical details of Bitcoin and blockchains, read Mastering Bitcoin by Andreas Antonopoulos.
If you prefer visual learning, then search on Youtube for Bitcoin characteristics, I'm sure there will be enough videos to give you a good understanding.
Here is a link to a demo of the blockchain: https://anders.com/blockchain/ , it's really useful for understanding the blockchain.
485  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BTG worth the trouble? on: November 05, 2017, 12:40:59 PM
In my opinion not worth it yet.
As I'm not going to claim a coin that doesn't even have a desktop wallet.
I don't want to risk my private key for a coin that is worth $150, I know that sounds strange but you should see it in perspective.
One Bitcoin worth $7500 before the fork got you an extra $150 after the fork but do you really want to risk $7500 for a small increase of 2%, that seems to be the daily routine? Or if you have 0.1 BTC, are you willing to risk $750 for 15 bucks? I don't.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you USE your BTC? on: November 04, 2017, 01:37:22 PM
Most of my bitcoins are used for long term keeping.
But the micro payments I get for small trades or signature campaigns sometimes go to groceries at my local supermarket that accepts Bitcoin.
I don't feel like spending it, because tomorrow it could be worth a lot more.
487  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin online payments on: November 04, 2017, 01:30:49 PM
When they see extra profit could be made by accepting Bitcoin.
But I don't see it happening as they only accept regulated payment methods.
And then you have refunds, that will be hard to issue when the rate fluctuates a lot.

488  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Looking for help preparing to sell bitcoin gold (beginner) on: November 04, 2017, 12:02:15 PM
3. Wait till you have at least 6 confirmations and then import or fill your old private key in the BTG claim website https://www .btgcpu.org/ <- SCAM WEBSITE DO NOT CLICK!

That's all, I'm not sure if btgcpu is the only way to claim them, as I didn't do it myself. But you could try the Coinomi wallet, they might be able to give you access to your Bitcoin Gold. If you want to do it that way, make sure to use the same steps as I mentioned but in step 3 use Coinomi instead of btgcpu.org
The official website was btcgpu.org... Not "btgcpu"

They have since moved the official Bitcoin Gold website to http://bitcoingold.org/ <- OFFICIAL BTG website

DO NOT use btgcpu website... DO NOT create Wallet there... DO NOT put any private keys or seed into that website!! It is a SCAM

But what I really want to know is how to move/transfer to a new wallet, like 1-do this 2-do that 3-...(im using Electrum only)
I'm confused with the 'sweeping' and the moving etc...?
It'll be really easy... When BTG actually launches, (they're only on day 2 of testnet testing... They haven't launched the BTG network yet!) They are going to release an Electrum port that works for BTG.

So it will be just like the BCH fork... You can simply import a copy of your BTC Electrum wallet into BTG Electrum and you'll be good to go!

NOTE: Moving BTC isn't strictly required, it is just recommended. The ONLY reason people advise to move your BTC to a new wallet, is to prevent theft of your BTC should the BTG wallet you attempt to use turn out to be rogue and it sends your seed or private keys to a thief. If you have already moved your BTC to a new wallet, the thief can't get them, only your BTG.

Moving BTC isn't required for this fork, as full 2way replay protection has been implemented.
I'm sorry for referring to a scam site, I somehow got there by Twitter.
I have edited the post to the right link, thanks for letting me know.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can ETH match the BTC? on: November 04, 2017, 09:23:31 AM
You can't really compare these two, they are intended for two different things.
Bitcoin is intended for payments like you do in a shop and Ethereum was made for smart contracts.
Ethereum doesn't have a max total supply like Bitcoin does, and at the moment has 5 times more units in circulation.
So I think the price won't be comparable to Bitcoin either.
490  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Looking for help preparing to sell bitcoin gold (beginner) on: November 04, 2017, 09:10:25 AM
As far as I know there is still no desktop wallet released for Bitcoin Gold.
So you should use there website to claim your coins.
The best and safest way to do it:

1. Transfer your current Bitcoins to a new wallet, preferably paper, hardware or desktop wallet.
2. Write down your new wallet private key and store it somewhere safe in your house. (Don't save it digital)
3. Wait till you have at least 6 confirmations and then import or fill your old private key in the BTG claim website https://www.btcgpu.org/ .

That's all, I'm not sure if btcgpu is the only way to claim them, as I didn't do it myself. But you could try the Coinomi wallet, they might be able to give you access to your Bitcoin Gold. If you want to do it that way, make sure to use the same steps as I mentioned but in step 3 use Coinomi instead of btcgpu.org
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it possible to increase the amount of bitcoins? on: November 01, 2017, 09:15:57 PM
It's not possible to increase the total supply.
Bitcoin is developed to half the block reward every 200.000 blocks with a starting reward of 50 BTC.
So an amount of more than 21 million coins can never be reached.
The hardfork that will happen this month is a different thing, it will not increase the supply but create a new thing.
Because it is a fork, the coin won't start from the beginning with a fresh blockchain but instead with an copy of the current blockchain.
The copy of the blockchain will split then after the hardfork happened, so every transaction that will made after that time won't interact with the other blockchain.

492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I sell right after the nearest fork? on: November 01, 2017, 09:08:53 PM
I have no idea what will happen to the price after the fork.
Best case would be, like it did with Bitcoin cash, no price drop but an extra coin that has a decent value.
I think it's a gamble, whether to sell or not sell after the fork.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are you going to do before segwit 2X ? on: November 01, 2017, 06:31:53 PM
I'm going to hodl Bitcoin, like I did for years.
Not going to sell anything, I might buy more but that will really depend on the price and the demand.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: When can we claim our free bitcoin gold? on: October 31, 2017, 10:00:27 PM
It seems like they didn't release any desktop wallet for their coin.
Only way to claim your Bitcoin gold would be their website.
I don't think it's worth it, because importing your valuable Bitcoin private key to a site like that could be unsafe.
If you really want to do it, make sure to transfer your valuable Bitcoin to a new wallet and then use the old private key to claim BTG.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the perfect Cryptocurrency? on: October 31, 2017, 09:46:17 PM
Then currency which will suit my wallet will be perfect for me . There are numbers of currencies and this era is of digital currencies because:-
1. They provide high profits.
2. Demand is more in market i.e. attracted by most.
3. No taxation on it.
4. One can invest for long term investments.
Ethereum is best suited me.
For you a good cryptocurrency is one that makes you a lot of money, am I right?
None of your written characteristics have any thing to do with the crypto currency it self.
Price, demand and taxation are all side-effects that change after the coin is created.
Long term investments are possible for every cryptocurrency that is out.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the perfect Cryptocurrency? on: October 31, 2017, 09:26:57 PM
For me the perfect cryptocurrency is Bitcoin, but with solutions to all the weaknesses (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Weaknesses).
Preferably with lower transaction fees and more privacy like the cryptonight algorithm.

497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTG (the upcoming hardfork) on: October 23, 2017, 04:22:25 PM
1. Is it possible to receive BTG by holding BTC at blockchain.info wallet?
2. What is the denomination of BTG: 1000mBTG=1BTG=100000000 Bitcoin Gold Satoshis?
3. If someone has 100mBTC at his wallet then what will he receive?
4. Where will BTG be stored? There is no a wallet for BCC at blockchain.info service, as for example to BTG
5. What is the current (speculation) price of 1BTG?
1. It is possible to claim BTG with a blockchain.info wallet, incase you have you're recocery phrase stored somewhere. You can convert the recovery phrase to a private key using a bip39 mnemonic converter. After the fork you could import the private key in a BTG client and claim your coins. But for safety, after the fork please move your Bitcoin Core coins to a new address. So when you would import your old private key you won't lose your core Bitcoins. Both coins would use the same private key if you don't move them.
2. Probably, I haven't see any information about it. You could send them an email, if nobody on here knows it.
3. An equal amount of BTG so, 100mBTG.
4. Coins will be stored on the same private key as Bitcoin Core coins. I think they will release a wallet client after the fork happens, which gives you access to your BTG when you import your private key.
5. Don't know, haven't seen it yet.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold premined? on: October 21, 2017, 06:14:25 PM
I'm not getting... How come Bitcoin Gold is premined when it doesn't even exist? I hear that if all goes well, the tokens will only be issued for those having BTC on certain exchanges and certain wallets. I have also heard that it might be a vector attack to bitcoin... can someone clear this for me?

The distributing of coins only to certain wallets and exchanges seems invalid, this is a quote on the FAQ of their website (btcgpu.com):
Quote
How can I get Bitcoin Gold?
The Bitcoin Gold (BTG) initial coin distribution method is exactly the same as that used by Bitcoin Cash (BCH). All Bitcoin holders who possess BTC private keys on October 25 (block 491 407) will receive Bitcoin Gold on the rate of 1 BTC = 1 BTG (If you have 20 BTC you will receive 20 BTG). You need to control BTC private keys in order to make Bitcoin Gold transactions.

I think pre-mining could be possible when they delay the publishing of a mining client or it's settings.
499  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold premined? on: October 21, 2017, 05:28:29 PM
How much premined? There is yet another fork in november.
The Segwit2x fork in November is a whole different thing.
It will be a copy of Bitcoin but with solutions for scaling problems implemented, no premined coins rather than the ones on the current blockchain..
500  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you deal with loss? on: October 21, 2017, 05:19:38 PM
I don't see a bought coin that falls in price as loss.
For me it's loss when I sell it at a lower rate than I initially bought it for.
But that's why I hold coins when the price falls, chances are big the price will recover if it's a good coin.
So don't invest in coins that you don't know, buy the ones you researched to protect yourself for loss.
