481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why slow transactions? on: August 21, 2017, 09:37:55 PM
BTC miners are leaving the network and mining BCH because it is more profitable.

This causes a Bitcoin death spiral, destroying the currency.

Sorry for your loss.
Bullshit. Amount of miners that switched is irrelevant for the simple reason. They are making profit for now, but when they start dumping price goes down with their profits, so they will come back. It's just that Bitcoin is being used more than ever, and price is high so we should expect high confirmation time using "normal" fees that we are used to.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Monero XMR to be listed on Bithumb! (ALL TIME HIGH) on: August 21, 2017, 05:01:54 PM
Maybe after this more people will start to accept it as viable form of payment. As for now, people (that are not investing) don't really have a justifiable reason to by Monero
483  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people buy etc ? on: August 21, 2017, 04:59:57 PM
Because ETC is what Ethereum is supposed to be. Decentralized. When that hard fork happened when investors lost money, some people (which I agree with) just switched to ETC and stopped supporting ETH.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: next bitcoin fork in Nov? on: August 21, 2017, 04:57:50 PM
If that's the case, I think segwit2x will not have an impact on bitcoin. For example BCC, which in the report can drop the btc price, now bitcoin remains the best.
Every change have impact on bitcoin. BTC price did not increase because of BCC, it increased because of improvement to the code. Same thing will happen in November. So most likely there will be a fork.
485  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Eckmar's Marketplace and Auction Script [ESCROW FEATURES] [199$] [TOR] [DEMO] on: August 21, 2017, 12:22:54 PM
Hi, I am interested in the script. How can access the demo?

Hey, If you take a look at my first post in this thread, at the bottom there is demo link available. Click there and register new account. After that go to /demo page (or visit demo link in blue navbar on top) if you wish to give yourself money/admin and further test the script
486  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bitcoin and USD wallets on: August 19, 2017, 09:32:34 PM
Thanks.

Does anyone else also have any other suggestions. i figure there is more solutions out there.

I'll continue to search.

If you want to convert BTC/USD fees are usually high. There is no denying that so you have to calculate if it's worth to actually do that as price usually goes back pretty soon. If you are determined to do that cry CEX.io exchange, and take a look at their fees. In my mind it's not really bad
487  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Blockchain.info for Bitcoin Cash on: August 19, 2017, 03:08:04 PM
Folks, have anyone managed to get BCC from having BTCs at Blockchain.info?
I would highly appreciate practical help and will not leave this small service for free.  Smiley BTC

I'm sure you've read this before, but to do that you need to be in control of your private keys. So, if you've imported wallet to blockchain.info with your private key, you can claim BCC. If not, there is no way to do it now. You must prey that Blockchain.info will allow it someday in  future.
488  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: SMS messages with Bitcoin on: August 19, 2017, 03:06:12 PM
You guys think point is sending SMS cheap, no. Point of last project was to send sms to anyone anonymously with Bitcoin.
489  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BCH not only survived - the difference to Bitcoin? on: August 19, 2017, 09:58:45 AM
Bitcoin was considered by many, including myself, to be honest, as the result of a split that will not survive long. Now the first block is made and it seems that many more people are convinced by the technology of Bitcoin Cash. The price shooted up to over 700$ and I regret  having bumped it at a most unfavorable price. Is it just a straw fire or has the BCH actually overcome the weaknesses of bitcoin in technology?

With the largest miner and hardware producer BITMAIN and one of the largest Pool and exchange VIABTC behind them, BCH/BCC sure has a future.

That is not really true. If you took some time and read Bitmain's blog you would find this:

Quote
Bitmain and ViaBTC only share an investment relationship in which ViaBTC operates independently. The founder of ViaBTC has ten times the voting rights as those of the investors of ViaBTC. Therefore, the position of ViaBTC does not represent Bitmain’s stance.
The New York Agreement is a joint effort of the global Bitcoin community. As one of its signatories, Bitmain has actively supported the smooth implementation of Segwit2x and will continue to run the btc1 software on all our mining pools, namely Antpool, BTC.COM pool and ConnectBTC, in the foreseeable future.
We are closely observing the “BCC” movement and do not rule out the possibility of supporting both Segwit2x and BCC.

If VIABTC supports BCC that does not mean Bitmain is too. As they say, they support Segwit2x and will continue to support original Bitcoin.
490  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-08-18] 'Bitcoin cash' surges 40% in single day as investors bet on... on: August 19, 2017, 09:55:14 AM
40% is quite high for a digital currency many despised in its early days, I guess all the negative hype was all in the bid to buy cheap bitcoin cash tokens ....well played now we wait and see how it will hold up or maybe its just another pump and dump crypto? Only time will tell.

I think the lesson here is that the November segwit2x fork better pick a good name:
Bitcoin2
Bitcoin2x
BitcoinNext

How many forks can the world handle?
Are there even more forks being planned/promoted?

For now no. Later who knows.

About BCC i think it's just temporary pump, until Novemeber when Bitcoin implements Segwit2x that will make transactions faster and everyone will just say fuck BCC as no one really use it for anything (I mean for real world payments) other than trading
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Playing game generate bitcoin ??? on: August 19, 2017, 09:49:58 AM
Some people produce bitcoin in game play ..... I want to learn about virtual world let alone produce bitcoin in game. If allowed to tell me how to get bitcoin inside the game? Because I love playing games. Thank you friend

There is no something like getting bitcoin for free. I guess there are games that pay you small amount if you play but that is simple promotion. You are not generating bitcoins, miners "generate" bitcoins
492  Bitcoin / Project Development / SMS messages with Bitcoin on: August 18, 2017, 10:24:37 PM
I found some project that was up long ago, and it allowed you to send SMS messages to someone paying with Bitcoin. Project is now closed, but look like a fun idea. Would you guys be interested in such a service ? It wouldn't take me long to make this and code would be publicly available on GitHub. Let me know your opinions on this idea.

Edit:
Since some people are to bored to read whole thread, point of last project was not to send SMS cheaper than your carrier or whatever, point was to send it anonymously.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How many cards can I use with my PC ? on: August 18, 2017, 08:16:14 PM
Generally speaking you should be able to have as many GPU's as PCI-E slots on your motherboard, if you use powered risers. Not all motherboards support using all the PCI-E slots for GPU's, so you need to find out how many cards your motherboard supports.

If you plan on keeping the cards in your case, then you can only use the PCI-E x16 slots. The other problem with cards in a case is heat build up from mining. Any more than two GPU's in a closed case and you will likely overheat the GPU's

Any idea where I can find out how many gpu's my motherboard would support?

I mean, wouldn't that only matter if I'm using them in SLI , however-they will only be used for -well mining and 1x gpu for gaming.

It's a surprise to me that I can use pcie x1 slot for x16 card lol

yeah it's used with risers. And you can check info about your motherboard online.

What you asked about ETH. Basically coin is mineable when algorithm is POW, ETH will switch to POS (cannot be mined) but no one knows when. It's expected to crash mining scene as not many other coins can handle difficulty that ETH got (and remain profitable to mine)

Cannot be mined PERIOD or cannot be mined using GPU ?

How could this danger be looming over our heads and people still "investing" 10's-1000's of dollars into building rigs?

Cannot be mined period. Well ETH foundation announced that it's coming, but no one really knows when. Could be before the end of the year or next year or in 2 years, who knows. And if something goes wrong you can always sell your cards to gamers

495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: filecoin on: August 18, 2017, 04:10:33 PM
I heard about that. But looking at it, there is nothing really that differentiate it from other coins like storj or siacoin. They are claiming that they will give better return for miners, but still for that they need buyers first and it's not most common thing now to buy decentralized storage.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: whats up with LTC? on: August 18, 2017, 04:07:50 PM
Well when I look at LTC I don't see much hope there. I mean why would someone want to invest there really ? It was supposed to be faster than BTC but that's useless when no one really accept LTC payments (stores, users ...)
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: bitcoincash is around 527.74$ now! on: August 18, 2017, 04:05:11 PM
Well I guess someone pumped it when he was buying low. Now it's time to sell, price back to something low again.
498  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: New cryptocurrency vDinar needs miners to start on: August 14, 2017, 04:40:51 PM
No one forces anyone to spend their time or mining power. It's just one of the many opportunities to mine coins with non-professional equipment, even your usual CPU. In the full article you could have read that we're not providing changes to the algorithm, we will just spend our budget trying to slowly implement it in SerboCroatian speaking areas, where Bitcoin and other altcoins are still far away from being popular. You can follow the project or not, it's not like we're stopping you from mining popular coins. We have still no direct interest in this and we are doing it because of simple political ideas.

I understand what you are trying to say, but let me rephrase. You just copy pasted coin, changed name, and expect someone to mine because of political reasons ? If Bitcoin (the most popular crypto currency) is far from being popular why would some shitcoin be popular ? (That is the term for coins like your's)

First of all, we are still applying changes, we never said the full release will be "Litecoin renamed", we're doing our own algorithm to be applied but we're also caring to provide all the mining softwares for it (there's a reason if we're launching it on 2018).
I just wanted to state that we're not doing from scratch hoping one day it will work and stop if it doesn't as we thought it would, therefore we have our basic layer to reatreat on and we build every new feature step by step.
Also, you seem not to know the way people from our countries react to foreign projects. There's a much bigger chance they will try something presented in their own language, and that's also the point: the way we will advertise it. We wouldn't be spending our budget in donations to Bitcoin, but we will knowing that this one will bring our name. Dinari have been the currency uniting all of ex-Yugoslavia for a century, people will feel it much nearer than Bitcoin or any of the international altcoins. If anything we will be the ones losing, not some unfortunate miner who spent a couple of days supporting the project. So I don't see all these reasons to get angry over it.

I'm not angry over anything, your project does not affect me in any way so I couldn't care less. I often invest in small projects to help them get going, so I'm trying to tell you from a point of investor. Even for people in that countries, the reason to use cryptocurrency is if they want to buy something online (if they just want to send money person to person it's much better to use bank if they are from the same country) and for that you need to get vendors to accept your currency first. That is problem even for Bitcoin.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying Bitcoins and making money on: August 14, 2017, 04:06:23 PM
Ok, so i bought a 100 dollars of bitcoin at coinbase so for the price it was ($4275) when i bought it i got .02239684

so basically if the bitcoin price goes to $8550 i would have an estimate of $200 for the bitcoins i have

so all i have to do is wait till the price goes real high and sell them if i feel like it?

That is correct. Since you already bough, main thing to do now i not to shit yourself and sell when price goes down, and it may go down. That is where most of newbies lose money, they sell for less than they bought because they are impatient and can't wait till the price goes back up
500  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: *** BTC to BitcoinCash *** How-To on: August 14, 2017, 03:07:15 PM
Newbie offering something like this... Warning to anyone who may want to use this service. NEVER give/show your private key to anyone. If someone knows your private key he owns your bitcoin.
