481  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins to invest in for a beginner on: February 11, 2019, 07:11:45 PM
Ive never bought any coins before and am considering opening an account while the coins are low

How would you invest $1000 - 2000
You should just buy Bitcoin, it is far much better than any other coin in the market.
There are good altcoins too, but bitcoin should be your first choice, cause altcoins might disappoint you in a big way.

But, if it’s Bitcoin, even if the price falls, there is still hope that it is going to rise up again. It has happened many times, the price has gotten down and still got back up. Just invest in it for long term, especially now the price is down, cause this might be the bottom price.
482  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The next bull run and stability on: February 11, 2019, 06:36:25 PM
I think the most important thing for cryptocurrency right now is adoption and we are gradually getting more adoptions in many industries so if the ETF, bakkt or bitcoin halving comes it will not just have a pump effect which will later fall but rather increase the general market cap and bring about stability. So I think the next bull run will be massive and stability will come in because of the real life adoption

What is your opinion?
Assuming the ETF is not approved, what is going to happen? Will the price of cryptocurrencies be at a stable price or continue with the downtrend?I believe that those of us who have been Hodling have really had patience enough, I hope that the price begins to go back up before the end of this year, cause that’s the longest I can wait. Really getting tired of the price going down even when you expect it to go up.
483  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are traders born or made? on: February 11, 2019, 04:52:56 PM
For those of you who’ve walked the trader’s path, you’ll know how daunting it can be. Standing in the footsteps of legends, wondering which strategy to follow, what concepts to learn and--more importantly--whether you really have what it takes to be a trader.

When your emotions are raging like a rollercoaster, a trading win can lead to a euphoric high. And a loss? A plummeting low that makes you doubt your ability and courage to stay in the game.

But can you learn to overcome your emotions, bide your time, fight against your urge to buy or sell, and figure out how to read the markets? Can you teach yourself to be a trader?

When you’re filled with self-doubt and overwhelmed by a plethora of trading tools and options, you may find yourself asking the question: are traders born or made?

They must be born. I have been in bitcoin scene for over 5 years now and I have been interested in trading as much as that time and I have never been a day trader or made my money from trading but I have always been around trading and did some. Yet I still suck at it, I try to learn I try to study and I try to practice all the time yet whenever I do a trade usually I fail.

I managed to lose money during the big bull run, think about that, a coin I bought actually went down during the bull market, I am that bad. Of course a trader needs to study and learn stuff but that doesn't mean that everyone can study and learn and become a good trader, some people like me can do whatever required and could potentially still suck, just suck less. That is why I think traders are born and not made.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the main problem with the crypto market at the moment? on: February 10, 2019, 06:30:02 PM
I believe the Chinese festival is part of the things that lead to the recent fall in the market starting from last week ending. But as for what started the fall, no one has really made a good point about it. So, I’m just believing that it is a normal thing for the market to go up and down since it’s based on speculation and all that. But there have positive predictions about the market and how it’s going to end this year. Hope that it happens just like they have predicted.
485  Economy / Speculation / Re: FRUSTRATED AT THE MARKET. on: February 10, 2019, 04:24:56 PM
I don’t think there is any reason for you to be frustrated about it, just stay calm if you can or withdraw your money and wait till things starts getting better.
But, it would be better for you to just hold, that’s better then withdrawing, cause you might withdraw your money and ending up missing out on the next bull run.

The market going down is the risk that we always talk about, and I’m sure that you were aware of that before buying these coins. So assuming you already knew that, why get worried ? You already made the decision, so have patience.

488  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to recognize correct trading signals? on: December 15, 2018, 07:02:20 AM
What I usually do to confirm this trading signal is by comparing their chart to other's chart at tradingview.com. I also analyzing the fundamental results or cryptocurrency news if it will be a bad or good news. There are some patterns to be recognized what will be the next color of candle will appear and honestly, there are different kinds of trading patterns so it will be pretty confusing specially if the fundamental results doesn't match on the technical results. The safest thing to do is to not to set too much expectation of return of investment.
Trading signals are a complicated subject when it comes to crypto currencies. There are many signals that work really well when it comes to forex trading but doesn't really work on crypto. Do you want to know the difference? Well in forex when something looks like it worths a look and buying that thing usually is good for buying, except for major political stuff (which is all the time in some countries) the price is as stable as it gets and we are talking about trillions of dollars.

When it comes to bitcoin though, even if it looks too good to buy and all signals tell you to get more of it, some crazy person like Craig come up and sell half a billion dollar worth of bitcoin in one day and you will sit there holding a bag of coins that worth less. Hence bitcoin is more volatile and risky. That's why trading signals even though are great day trading deals usually fail on long term.
489  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HODL IS THE BEST OPTION FOR ME NOW on: December 15, 2018, 06:31:48 AM
HODL is the best option now for all my altcoins. I will keep Hodling till the bearish market is over. Everyone was thinking that bull run will start toward the end of the year, instead, there is a consistent reduction in price. Let keep hodling next year will get better for everyone.
I want to know what you feel, is there still hope for the remaining 18 days before the year end?
It is the best option for not only you but everyone else too but lets not forget the companies that accept bitcoin as a payment as well. There are places that sell stuff for bitcoin and when they hold it than it means they are selling it for a loss, of course they may need to sell to restock and get more but that would cause them to lose more. Aside from that it is the best option to hold for everyone else, I wouldn't want to sell for a loss neither, who would want to lose money when they can actually profit.

I keep selling bitcoin every week for bills but aside from my bill payments I try to keep everything else in bitcoin, I cash out about 200 dollars or so every month in bitcoin and all other coins that I earn will stay in bitcoin until it reaches to above 6 thousand dollar values again.
490  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you move your FIAT money around? on: December 15, 2018, 05:59:26 AM
Hi!

1. There are so many ways to move the FIAT money around: SEPA, SWIFT, e-payments systems (skrill, epay, advcash, etc etc). What is your preferred  way and what payment system do you actually use? Maybe you could even share some tips and tricks?

Basically, I'd like to make a list of top 5 to 10 ways to move FIAT and make sure I've got accounts on all of them.

2. Do you explore opportunities in other FIAT currencies? Let's say you're focused on /USD markets. Do you explore your possibilities to also trade in KRW, RUB, GBP, EUR markets?

I'm a bit confused on why the heck USD so freakin' popular among crypto community? Americans are not welcome on most KYC-performing exchanges due to SEC's policy so this is not them, who make the most of USD volume. So, why don't you trade on EUR if you're not American? Liquidity?

I don't. That's why we have crypto. If you are involved in crypto you do not need to move your money around in any other way or shape, crypto is by far the most superior way to move your money around globally.

You can go to any country you want and still can find someone to cash out your coins there as well, you will have to trust them a bit but it can still be doable or if you have bank accounts there you can use the local crypto exchange to cash out to your bank account.

Hence the best option is still by far crypto. Also debit cards that you use in your country can still work in other countries so you can just cash out to your own bank at your own country and spend it all around. Using swift and sepa and all that is crazy considering the fee's that come with it.
491  Economy / Economics / Re: current situation of cryptocurrency for 2018 on: December 14, 2018, 06:09:22 AM
Same thing happened around 2013 to 2015, the price went high and dropped. Then later it started to go up a bit and in 2017 it got the bull run and price went high again.

So if history is trying to repeat itself the same way again, then there is nothing wrong with it, cause we are already sure that after all this the price will still go up. The problem with some people is that they lack patience. If you’re going to invest in cryptocurrency, then you better have patience and stop ranting about price fall.
492  Economy / Economics / Re: The world that all money have become crypto currencies issued by government on: December 14, 2018, 05:37:22 AM
So judging from the merits and demerits you have mentioned, do you think that have cryptocurrency as our main system of exchange would be a good idea? I don’t think so. And by the way, there is no need for you to be mentioning ‘no need to carry to cash’ cause even now I do go out without cash.

My card can serve for any purpose or even my phone cause I do transactions with it making use of bank app or services like PayPal which has my card linked to it. I don’t even think it can stop money laundering.
493  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you ever thought of bringing back the Middleman - but decentralized? on: December 14, 2018, 05:05:19 AM
If you mean middleman in terms of escrow, it have already proved that the need of escrow is most important for any ecosystem not just decentralized one. Because, we cannot predict when a dispute will rise and who will manage that to find a solution. A governing is always good but it should be up to some limit like it should not interfere into the core concepts of decentralization.

In my opinion this could give us, both users and investors, some advantage in terms of avoiding some of the risk when doing transactions. Buying coins is facilitated easily through them but at the expense of adding some to the cost of transactions. But if giving a little to them is worth more than the risk of doing transactions directly maybe it is far more better this way. In my locality we trusted the middle man to do transactions although it cost us a lot but I think it is better than losing your money through unknown or a faraway exchange that may just be another scam.
I understand this is nothing new from what we are already having in this forum in the names of escrow. Yes, when buyer and seller want to protect themselves then they must be needing an escrow to be engaged for their business. I believe this will not affect in any level into decentralized system. But, if it will control the decentralized system then we should not go for it by any means. I mean to say being with decentralized system is more important than having such a system.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 2019 is it the new beginning will come to crypto currencies? on: December 13, 2018, 08:00:48 AM
2019 seems to be a new hope for crypto, because some developments will probably occur that year, for example Ethereum will soon fork as a refinement and as a means to increase prices, do you all believe 2019 will be better for crypto currency?
Lets hope so. This year has been one of the worst years in bitcoin history, even in 2014 it was november when the price went down and it took sometime to go back up but that period consisted of 2015 as well, the price went UP and DOWN in 2014 so we can't really say it was a bad year as a whole.

2018 has been horrible all alone, without ever going up it just went down and down. I really hope since the period has been bad for a whole year it should not moving it to 2019 as well. I mean maybe the early days could be bad again who knows and maybe it will go up a bit and go down again but I doubt it could be as bad as 2018 as a whole, it really will pick up from here and move upwards hopefully. I just assume it can't break the all time high right away but at least a bit of improvement would be really welcomed.
495  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What needs to happen in 2019 for the market to recover? on: December 13, 2018, 07:26:16 AM
If people believe in crypto maybe 2018 and 2019 will always invest. With that trust maybe they (Investors) will think 2019 the market will recover. The crypto market is indeed in extraordinary testing, no one expected this to happen. If you believe in crypto, of course you would think 2019 the crypto market will recover.
People need to get back into bitcoin and increase the volume for that to happen. Right now the sell orders and buy orders are not too different from each other hence the price stays around the same price, whenever it goes down the sell order amount passes the buy order amount which makes the price go down.

Hence technically speaking if the volume increases a lot and the buy orders are a lot more than the sell orders than the price will go up. So we need to focus on getting bitcoin loved again, that's all there is we can do.

A lot of people lost money in bitcoin and went away, we need to regroup them and tell them that the price is looking amazing and instead of buying from the top they will be buying from the bottom and the only direction is up for their investment. If we can manage to convince enough people the market will recover.
496  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL for only the brave !? on: December 13, 2018, 06:54:56 AM
Well to correct you dealing in crypto currency itself is meant for brave people. As not all of them could sustain losses and being so much volatile it is not everybody cup of tea. People just would have heard so much rise happening till last year and this year they would have seen the fall as well and now would know that higher the risk and higher the reward.

Not just crypto currency markets, I believe all the investment opportunities are only for brave people. Because, making an investment decision is not at all an easy task for our hard earned money. If you want to risk your hard earned money then you must need some big guts which is not at all possible for all the people.  People who have made decisions to invest with crypto must also decide to continue their holding. That is the real symbol of bravery.

yeah, not all the people still have the brave to continue hodl their assets in current market situation, maybe they will laugh on us and said that we're the stupid guys, use real money buy virtual coins, but I think no need to say anything because I'm sure that market will recover soon, let them regret later  Smiley
Never bother about others opinion. Who is going to laugh finally will be the biggest question here. When all the holders will be making big profits, those people will find their laughing moments again ? Definitely will not. Just focused on holding and also we must focus on buying more on every dips. Making use of these falling down market is more important along with continuing holding.
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading as an entertainment thing on: December 12, 2018, 07:24:26 AM
There are a lot of companies calling me at least every 2 days to ask me if i am into trading and if not why not and why i don't and so on..
Is there any kind of entertainment if doing online investments or trading?
Enlighten me!
Which companies exactly are you talking about? I don’t know any crypto exchange that does that unless you’re referring to binary trading platforms, they are mainly those I know that keeps calling you on phone if you register and not trading.

But these people wouldn’t contact you if you never your contact info to them, so I’m guessing you must have registered somewhere, if not, then its scammers that are contacting you, just block them.
498  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Learn how to diversify your crypto portfolio and manage risk. on: December 12, 2018, 06:49:57 AM
4 Types of Coins to Diversify Your Crypto Portfolio & Manage Risks

In the volatile world of cryptocurrency trading, it is important to implement some strategies needed to manage your cryptocurrency investments. Managing your investments well means that your portfolio of coins is protected against risk. This guide will explore the different type of coins you should hold in order for you to manage a well-balanced investment portfolio.

A portfolio is a term that represents the collection of all investments you own across all types of investment assets. If you only own 10 types of coins and tokens, then your portfolio consists of only the 10 cryptocurrencies. It is much better to own different kinds of investments across different categories. For instance, having a portfolio consisting of a mix of cryptocurrency coins, stocks, and bonds.

Let’s start the ball rolling by understanding the most important concept in investing, called ‘Risk’.

(Read more: Analyzing Cryptocurrency Risk: Existing Coins vs ICO)

What is Risk?
Risk is defined as the possibility of loss that an investor is willing to take in exchange for the possibility of gains from his investments.

There are generally two types of risk in the cryptocurrency market:

Market (Systematic) Risk
Market risk is the risk associated with the overall performance of the cryptocurrency markets. Market risks cannot be eliminated. If you’ve been an investor in the cryptocurrency space since the start of 2018, you will understand that the cryptocurrency market is highly correlated to Bitcoin and each other. The entire market crashed at the start of 2018 after a tremendous run in 2017, and no matter which coins you invested in, almost all coins and tokens experienced massive losses. This is an example of market risk.

Coin-Specific (Idiosyncratic) Risk
Coin-specific risk refers to the isolated risk of a single coin or token in the cryptocurrency market, influenced by factors specific to the project itself. If for example, a project experiences a negative event (such as network failure or running away with investors’ funds), then the coin holder that invested in that project will be a victim to the project-specific risk. Coin-specific risk can be reduced through diversification.

The fact is that in the investment marketplace, risks is as much an incentive as it is a red flag.  Conventional financial wisdom states that the higher the risk, the greater the expected returns. It’s no surprise that cryptocurrencies are the riskiest investments you can make.

I don’t know why a lot of people keep talking about this diversification, how exactly is that helping? It’s not helping in any way at all. What about those that mistakenly bought a lot of sh#t coins just because they were to practice diversification, at the end they end up as the main losers in everything.

No matter how much you try to diversify your portfolio to avoid loss, when the market drops they all drop together, if you’re lucky, it can only minimize your loss.
499  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Forex Trading is Profitable? on: December 12, 2018, 06:19:33 AM
Forex trading is good. In fact I once tried to do forex trading, before I got into cryptocurrency. I know a lot of people that are into forex trading and they have been able to make a lot of money and able to buy houses and live a good life by trading forex.

But that doesn’t mean there are not people who are losing, a lot of people are losing their money forex, thought majority of them are due to lack of skills and experience, and as a matter of fact some of them has labeled it as scam.
500  Economy / Economics / Re: Will people come back to gold on: December 11, 2018, 08:18:15 AM
I do not believe it, who likes encryption, blockchain, technology and bitcoin will not change market due to the low season! This is only a matter of time!
For an investor, encryption or blockchain technology or anything related to these are nothing. They just calculate what they will be getting back for their capital. Liking any of these is very less significant factor here. So, I am believing more investors will get into crypto currencies in future but I agree it will take more time as bitcoin needs to prove itself.

Maybe yes and maybe not. For those who have been disappointed with the crypto market, it seems that he will leave Crypto and switch to other assets such as gold or possibly real estate. But for those who still have high optimism and enthusiasm in crypto, then surely they will stay and just be patient to look forward to the next increase from the crypto market.
Will you leave cryptos for the reason of investing into gold ? Definitely I will not. Because, we need to compare ROI of gold and crypto currencies. Because, ROI is the prime reason why people are choosing crypto currencies by leaving of all other investment opportunities. If you want your investment to be stable then you may go for gold. I guess for this reason alone people are coming back to gold.
