481  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Netsolus: Hosting service down?! on: September 26, 2013, 02:22:05 AM
My miners are being hosted by Netsolus, and have been down for almost an hour and a half.  Anyone here also experiencing problems with Netsolus today?

Are you hosting BFL Singles or other hardware?   Have you requested to have them power-cycled for you?

What is interesting is looking at the ROI numbers on any BFL units that have not shipped yet:

BFL SC Single:  http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/7810ae8e8e

BFL Mini-rig:  http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/0251323bb6

I am worried that:

A)  Units that have not shipped will not ROI

or

B)  If BFL actually ships their entire backlog and they state will happen by the end of Sept(??), that alone will make many of those unit not ROI from the sheer weight of the difficulty they generate.

P.S. I voted 'possible'

493  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WSJ reports on BTC mining, is that user ProfMac they interviewed? on: September 20, 2013, 10:14:39 PM
Great article.  It is a nice accomplishment to have Bitcoin mining shown in a more realistic light.  It ain't easy like it used to be.
494  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon fucks us over again on: September 20, 2013, 09:49:04 PM
New refund orders sent in to Avalon for another 30k worth of chips:

1NrWRA6RWapSqYHuEAGRnxjdnWoKgucDhT - Marto74 GB

14s3atVjX5d4RbhaaDRi34c5Sj2SxaqmS1 - ASICME.com GB

16joe4f8PgJmTGWcEcUu7HnVuiCEUwJghj - Jimmy2011 GB

John has sent refund request on 17th Sep. for our 2nd group buy (ordered on 2nd June), however, I got both the 1st (ordered on 30th May) and 2nd GB chips this morning. From sf-express.com, we can confirm that the shipping was started at 17:22, 18th Sep., which suggests that Avalon sent chips after we requested refund in their system.

Avalon fucks us over again!

First off, I am sorry to hear this.   I wonder if the shipper had the chips before the 17th and they were the delayed in getting them out but in Avalon's mind it was shipped after the refund request?  I would try to ascertain when the chips were given to the shipper.
495  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [OPEN] ASIC Mining Hosting Management Service - Power @0.02/Kwh (WA) on: September 18, 2013, 06:15:57 PM
Better just say you host free but customers only get 100% of the bitcoins, none of the namecoins, ixcoins, i0coins, devcoins, groupcoins, coiledcoins and geistgeld...

I thought only 3 coins can be merged mined? At least bitparking.com has only 3 and http://dustcoin.com/mining only shows 3 too. If its true what you said maybe someone has to code something first to make it possible? Or is there a software already that makes this possible?

Bit parking merge mines 6 coins I believe. BTC, IXcoin, Devcoin, Groupcoin, iocoin and namecoin.

However, Groupcoin/i0coin are pretty much useless. There is no where to use or exchange them into other cryptocoins. Please correct me if I'm wrong, because I am leaving money on the table if so.

Sorry to derail your thread Dalkore, I hope your business is going well. It is a neat idea, at one point I wanted to do something similar, but HVAC setup costs proved to be too much to handle. I imagine you probably live in a much cooler part of the country too which helps a lot!

Cheers,

Ch

No problem.  Not sure why people are discussing merged mining on this thread.  Other than Bitcoin, most of the those others are not very useful.

HVAC is a major expense but a part of the business.  It is cooler during the winter but hot during the summer so overall I need cooling no matter what.
496  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Asic Arms Race 28mn chips on: September 18, 2013, 05:57:31 PM
I believe some people should really think about just purchasing coins as your investment in Bitcoin.  Right now we have a ton of hardware coming online and until a bulk of it has brought the difficulty to where it needs to be, you should hold off putting new money to work.

I have just one Avalon batch 3 module (not whole machine) which is right now hosted at China. I'd like to move it to your place but I need to
know if it is possible for my module to end up within some of your machines that have spare module slot, and how would bitcoins payout work.

Yes, please PM me.  I have a few machines that do have room.    Which batch are these modules from?

Whats next a petahash miner?

Yes, we will likely see those.  Those will likely be a more high-end unit for major hashing operations.
