481  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin's price volatility affect your gambling habits? on: November 03, 2017, 08:17:39 AM
So does this factor affect how you gamble?

If prices go up, do you lower you bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you lower it to 0.0001 per bet?

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?

Not just me, but most people would agree that the price factor does affect the way we use to gamble.
It was easy to lose even BTC0.1 when the price was $250 (a time when I gambled a lot). Then, a time came when it crossed back 1000 again and I have fixed my weekly betting size to BTC0.05 (not per bet, but total bets' wagering not more than BTC0.05). It means even if I lose, I would lose not more than $200 a month, which was affordable. Then, the price had a rapid increase and it gradually caught the attention of media as well as investors and 5x was made possible. I now bet not more than BTC0.1 a month (total wagering of BTC0.1) which means I can afford to lose $500-$600 a month (not compulsory that I lose only, but just a speculation). That's the difference it made to the betting sizes, hope you understood how I gamble.  Wink

True this apply to those players who keep pegging bitcoin to USD since they calculate their losses in terms of dollar not in term of BTC.  But some players thinks BTC as independent from USD and does not really care if it goes up.  I saw someone losing around 200 plus BTC when Bitcoin was around 1k USD and the guy just say that it is not real money just Bitcoin.  LOL.
If the player only see BTC as the currency being played, probably it won't affect him much but think about it, if you were playing a long time ago 0.1 in a value of BTC at $250, it's just nothing and seeing that you are able to do it, makes you think that it's still possible to do in a $7000 value in BTC with also 0.1. Basically, it's the same thing, it's just that makes you more aware on how much are you willing to lose.

That is true, if you use bitcoins just as it is then you can go and gamble without even trying to see what the current price of bitcoins are. But the problem is we are not all early adopters that have thousands of bitcoins in their possession. Most of us are just playing with a few dollars and if that is the case then we would really need to consider how much are bitcoins at the time we are playing.
482  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think dicing can take over the real money market like it did with Bitcoin on: November 03, 2017, 08:09:12 AM
Judging by statistics on websites like dicesites.com websites are doing 10's of million of dollars a week in volume in dicing. Do you think this could translate to the real money market. Dicing obviously is giving all other casino games a run for their money being the most popular by far.

I heard Primedice might be working on it... It could be rumoured around their possible ICO post?
would you pls clarify what do you mean in this post.what is JUDGING BY STATISTICS? And what is TRANSLATE TO REAL MONEY MARKET?plz before starting some topics try to check those words your using if its appropriate on what you want to imposeor express..anyway DICING is a dominant on gambling this days and its really unpredictable how gambler get addicted unto it.but gambling is a gambling if we really want to get rich here in Crypto,we should avoid gambling addiction and focus in trading, mining and investing..

Not sure as well what he meant here, he's also connecting two completely different concepts that are not ultimately related to each other. This is just a typically spam thread I think. Op did not intend to really post a topic that would encourage any discussion about bitcoins nor gambling, actually it doesn't invite any sort of discussion. The only thing to discuss is the fact his is does not purport to be any kind of topic to be discussed.
483  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport Do u Like to Bet? on: November 03, 2017, 07:52:34 AM
I prefer tennis over other sports events. It can be predicted to some extent and also with the top players match we can get promised winning but can't expect multiple profits as the odds will be found low with those particular events. Very rarely used to spend on casino's and other dice events.
I think it is all about interest. Not everybody is interested in tennis or basketball or football. If a gambler enjoys whatever sport he wants then he should bet on that one. Since what is the point in betting on a tennis match if you don't even like watching people hit balls with a netted piece of stick. Also, if you don't even like the sport how can you analyze it and be able to predict the outcome?
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: losing 50 bitcoins gambling on: November 02, 2017, 06:15:43 PM
that nuts losing 50btc in a single bet

You cannot help the addicted person to stop gambling. And above worse they even do not know when to stop or limit them self so that they do not go all in. I hope people will learn from this mistakes so that they do not gamble this big and realize later that they lost a huge money in the gambling.

We cannot really conclude that the guy who placed that 50btc wager was an addicted gambler. Maybe he is a rich guy and 50 BTC is nothing to him, say that he's a multi billionaire. 50 BTC wasn't as big as the time it was placed, and that's nothing to a billionaire. Or he's someone that was an early adopter, who mined hundreds of thousands of bitcoins because it was so easy back then.
485  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcoin tourney on: November 02, 2017, 03:21:21 PM
2mbtc? Will betcoin go this low not to pay their players? I guess this is another reason why people should avoid playing here. There are really a lot more alternatives than betcoin and you should also consider moving out of this casino. This casino has been proven to have cheated their players and their name will never ever be cleaned because having such an incident will mean that this site has a tendency to cheat.
486  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling ends on: November 02, 2017, 03:15:51 PM
can this world stop in gambling?
someone who like to gamble hard to escape from the gambling trap. almost like a drug addict. Even after they went bankrupt still struggling to gamble by borrowing money for gambling. Actually what do they expect?

Yes it can be stop, but not in this world amigo.

Its already part of our society. Maybe a nation can stop it but implementing strict laws, but the whole wide world? I doubt it. Because many are already hooked and addicted to it so its uncontrollable already. We have to accept that fact that is part of our lives. Its just to bad to see someone get addicted to it.
Not also because a lot of people hooked in gambling but also because businesses about gambling has also huge income from their company, so why should they need to stop operating it since that is their source of income? Even if some people stop to play, there are still some others will go into their casinos and play gambling. We can never stop people from playing since it is very entertaining.

That is indeed a good analogy to it. It takes two to tango, they say. Gamblers want to gamble and businesses want to provide that need for them. The fact that someone is addicted doesn't mean the casinos will not allow the guy to play. Usually even if they have some sort of responsible gambling policy they do not really care and impose such a policy, because, let's face it, they will profit and that is the only thing businesses care about.
487  Other / Archival / Re: Which one is more risky? Skill-based gambling or trading? on: November 02, 2017, 03:05:41 PM
There is nothing like skilled based gambling. Its only probability which sparing you over time and rolls. Trading need skills and knowledge which can get you rich with time. But not guaranteed in case of gambling.
Definitely these are only fusses created for this scene. How can you say that you have skills of losing your money in gambling? Can any wise person say this? I don’t think so. There must be skills required for everything but gambling is the only one unique, unfortunately, to have luck as dominant character in this game. While trading, as you said, is skillful act and you can’t rely on luck only.

It depends on the game, when you play poker or sports betting, then skills are a major factor to consider to improve win rate. Yeah, it is not everything needed but a huge factor. In poker, you should know when to fold or when to go all in. There are fundamentals in playing it, and someone just randomly guessing what cards will come out will not play well in the professional leagues.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling Investments on: November 02, 2017, 02:46:34 PM
You can't think gambling is an investment the risk is alot higher than normal investment. If it does pay off it is merely luck.

You are totally wrong, sports betting is quite different and if you do your home work well you can make accurate predictions and still win good without any luck. There are a lot of good teams and individual players out there who hardly loose games and  so if you are fond of placing bets involving such entities your wins will always outweigh your losses.
Investment simply is just spending some money and earn profit from it. Gambling is the same . Haha, the first guy think gambling isn't investment ?

You're stupid to think this. What you have said is completely wrong, and you should likely try to gamble and trade before you make a statement like this. Since from what you said you seem to be ignorant which is which. You don't spend money in both gambling and investing by the way. You buy to invest and you bet to gamble, spending is nowhere in that definition.
489  Economy / Gambling / Re: List of faucet inbuilt gambling places on: November 02, 2017, 02:41:59 PM
So, I`m going to make a list of gambling places with a stable faucet feature and you are allowed to participate in creation of the list
Notice: every site should be checked on their faucet stability and regular payout

1. yabtcl.com
2. bitsler (15 times per day)
3. duckdice (slow cool-down)

Addition: I am not able to claim money from faucet due to reCAPTCHA errors - write to me in PM if you can help me with it

Almost 99% of the time there is a faucet. It is standard. I don't think this thread has any purpose. Maybe the better thread to create is one that lists gambling sites that do not have a faucet.

Another idea for a thread is listing the terms of use of the faucet. Like do they have levels, time-out, max number of claims per day, do they ask for captcha, etc.
490  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Source rate exchange of gambling website on: November 02, 2017, 02:37:48 PM
I wonder where is the main source rate exchange between currencies for gambling website? Coinmarketcap?

It really depends on their management. Usually, they depend on a big exchange to base their rates. However, the problem with on-site exchanges are that it usually is with mark up to it. They charge a higher price to exchange than if you just bought it yourself over at the exchange you use. So, I would not really bother use these on-site exchanges unless extremely necessary.
491  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The concept of Expected Value. on: November 02, 2017, 09:29:02 AM
Good read. This should be an eye opener for any newbie reading it. Unfortunately, most people that gamble and want to profit do not care about gambling concepts, what they only care about is "will I win money here?" That is a fundamental error of most new gamblers and they end up losing more than they should. People that want to get rich quick turn to gambling but since they are lazy, they do not want to read up on all of these concepts because it would take time and they think that will defeat the purpose of why they want to gamble, which is to get a quick buck.
492  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Casino You've ACTUALLY WON? on: November 02, 2017, 09:22:14 AM
Someone post their experiences with casinos please, I'm a very hesitant when it comes to gambling yet alone ONLINE gambling but if I hear that some of these casinos actually pay out I might give it a try...

according to my exprerience i have played on 3-4 sites and all of them pay naturally without any problem . you asked in your title about winning too so on that it totally depends on your strategies and your luck ofcourse .

Generally what he is asking here is a place where someone has won in the casino already. Not somewhere to play on a legitimate casino that pays.

The problem with this question is that OP is assuming he would have the same outcome as the  person that previously won on a casino. But the truth is that you will probably not have the same fate as the guy who said he won on a casino, because there is a chance you will even lose on a casino. There is no guarantee that if someone won on that casino, you will too.
493  Economy / Gambling / Re: Moneypot on: November 01, 2017, 06:42:09 PM
I am curious with your statement about the ICO. You cancelled it because there was a problem with a partner or whatever, or did you cancel it due to lack of interest from the community? I read somewhere that if there was not a lot of investors you would not cancel, (I'll find the post), but in the end moneypot cancelled the ICO which I think was because there was just about 7 btc in investments and the ICO was about to end already.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Invest with me [Sports Betting] on: November 01, 2017, 06:21:20 PM
Invest with me!

I've been gambling on Bovada.lv for a little bit now and I've been having some pretty good success so far. Here's a chart of my current success.
I started with $75 currently at 93% return right now with a balance of $145.

Chart : https://image.prntscr.com/image/Y0c5YoJ5TZigG6oCcG3QqA.png

If you wanna get my picks that I do or want to have me do pick for you.

Send me over a message.

There is no guarantee that all your picks will be winning picks or even maintain that 93% win streak you have. I had similar luck when I started, and profited about $200 a week just doing parley bets daily for $10. But it did not last forever, I had days when I lost a lot more than what I earned the previous week because I got cocky. Fact of the matter is that in gambling there is nothing certain. You might have a good win rate but it will not be forever 93%.
495  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you need licence to open up an online Bitcoin Casino? on: November 01, 2017, 01:25:10 PM
Hi Guys,

I was researching the idea to open up an online casino way back (2-3 years ago), that time it needed all sort of licensing from the country it would operate from, how does it work with a bitcoin casino?
some casino software sites claim no licensing needed?

Thanks
pete

I believe that it's basically the same thing it doesn't matter the type of currency people will use to do the gambling as long as it is a casino, you will have to license it and there is no two ways about it.
Yes because one cannot rum casino without special permit from the government and for that he will have to obtain a license. I think that this rules will be there in online casinos because gambling is gambling if offline or online. License is must and there must be rules for all the gamblers to gamble on a specific site as there are rules of gambling offline and in regular casinos. No one can violate the rules and policies of the casino.

The casino software usually does not need a license to use it, if it is a paid script though of course you would need a license from the creator to make use of it. However, if you are asking if a license is needed when operating it from the government then it depends on your laws. However, usually there are better jurisdictions to register your casino like Curacao.
496  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-10-31] The Race To Ban Or Regulate Bitcoin And ICOs on: November 01, 2017, 05:09:39 AM
I would not agree to banning or regulating bitcoins but on ICOs, that's another matter of discussion. Bitcoin technology is solid, and there is no argument that it has a purpose in this world. However, we can't say that on all ICOs. A lot of them are just scams, probably only 1 out of 10 are legit and really are offering something to the community. That is a big number to look at. So I do think ICOs do really need to be regulated.
497  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ERC20 vs waves on: November 01, 2017, 05:02:51 AM
I would say that I'll go with ERC20 since there are a lot more people that use Ethereum than Waves. I've read a few arguments that there are a lot of trash and shitty tokens on waves, though comparing this to Ethereum there are also a lot of those kinds of tokens there. If however, you see that Waves is a lot more useful for your project, then why not? I think both of them have their flaws.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Central of the Philippines Recognizes Bitcoin on: October 31, 2017, 09:35:32 PM
The article is misleading. I am from this country and I study law, the fact that OP declared something false here is misleading people into believing the statement. The true meaning of these news is that BSP (central bank of the Philippines), is only recognizing Bitcoin Exchanges as an entity. They are only dealing with buying and selling cryptos for fiat. They are not the government agency that will be able to declare that bitcoins would be a currency that can be used for actual payments. BSP only regulates flow of money, which means it can only deal in AML policies, anti-terrorist funding polices and monetary policies for the state.
That was a clear information sir, yeah its true we are in the same country. As what he said BSP only regulate the money that comes in and out to our country they are not like our goverment politician who to control bitcoin crypto currency.
If the central bank of any country is making any sort of move, I think it won’t be a secret from its government. If the central bank of Philippines is dealing in bitcoin regardless of to which extent, definitely it shows the interest of its government.

Sooner or later, the politicians will also make a statement about bitcoin and honestly, I don’t like the idea of talking about bitcoin with banks. I mean to say, I would never do any bitcoin transaction through a bank.

All arguments don't make sense. There was no secret nor was there any bank there. Central banks are not banks per se. They are monetary boards that regulate how money works and is being used in the country. There was no statement in the news nor in mine that says that we are dealing with commercial banks.

Bottom line is that the government in the Philippines did not regulate bitcoins that would be advantageous nor disadvantageous to it. The fact is that they only are regulating exchanges so that they will not be used for money laundering or terrorist financing. Nothing more. The BSP is not dealing in crypto or bitcoins!
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How likely will there be a chain-split for X2? on: October 31, 2017, 09:21:51 PM
Another possible fork is coming up this november, how likely do you guys think would there be a chain-split? If you think it will, do you think the new coin will topple Bitcoins and it will be "The Bitcoin"?

I think if it happens, though, it would still take a while before the dust settles. So, it would take some time before we can all know which chain to follow.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warning! on: October 31, 2017, 09:17:48 PM
If at the time of the hard fork november 15 you will in bitcoins, then be sure to keep them on exchanges, otherwise you will not be able to make deposits for sale, both sides do not want to put protection from repeated transactions

It is much more safer to keep it in your own private keys and not with the exchanges. The exchanges can just decide not to give out the chain split coins and just keep them for themselves. Unlike if you keep it with your own keys then in case their is a chain split then you can always claim both coins. Unless there is already an announcement from your exchange that they will give out coins in case of chain split then go with them if you trust them enough.
