Betting had no influence on the outcome on the US presidents election at all. Thr main question who will win it but that is a different discussion. I would never vote for Trump but is Biden a good alternative? The guy is 84 years old and didn’t really make a lot of impact this last 3 years…
We can't bring the conspiracy theory here that is happening mostly on sports. Maybe sports could be rig, but this election? Not gonna happen as it's the nations future is at stake here, rigging for someone just to make a lot of money in risk of making a country struggle, doesn't make sense at all. We never know who would really win, just like when Trump as a huge underdog, people got surprise that he won, but that's official. now, as to choosing the president, it's entirely our personal choice and just like our interpretation on the bible, we have different.
482  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do many people fail in trade? on: February 02, 2024, 07:58:51 PM
Those who have low risk tolerance might eventually get to decide to quit from trading most particularly if they are losing consistently. Even myself I would resort into quitting if I am not profitable anymore. But that is only on a newbie’s point of understanding. Because if you actually aim to become a good and successful trader someday, then you should not be easily discouraged with different losses and mistakes you’ve done in trading, that’s part of one’s training so you can be a reliable trader in the end.

Successful traders these days might not come into their current position if they end up quitting suddenly. But because their hopes and aspirations are high, they remain to be strong despite of their losses until they get to the point of becoming successful and profitable in their trading field.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Binary Trade Better or Better to Buy and Hold Bitcoin? on: February 02, 2024, 01:23:05 PM
Maybe you want to make money faster with binary trading but you should know the risk of losing money faster you will have a stressed mindset after failing in binary trading.
I was in a situation where money became essential what else was I going to do.  Because in the beginning family promotion and.  It is very difficult to cope with the pressure of the family because I am almost done with my studies and now I am mentally broken with nothing left to do.  I want to do it because I am not getting any job because I have some capital and I am going to invest the capital in a good place but I am not getting that good platform.  For that, I was asking for some help from you who would invest and what would be fairly good, besides, I don't have any other star to earn money but one of my own.  I wanted to buy and invest and therefore came to you.
If you are looking for immediate returns, you can do binary trading but make sure that you are also capable to make it work and overcome the risks, otherwise you will only lose your money and you will fall like gambling while doing binary trading.

However, if you focus on hodling, although it’s safer than binary trading but you will only see possible returns after months or years of hodling, so you have to properly weigh things which path to take. But for better results, you can do hodling and at the same time do binary trading provided that you can cater and manage its different risks. Making money becomes easier if you are able to manage the risks and consequences well.
484  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 02, 2024, 03:52:57 AM
This looks like a trap. I will not take it right away, if the line will move in favor of SMB like going to -3.5, then that would mean people are betting on SMB while will make Magnolia more attractive for the smart money. If the line turns out to be line that, I might take the moneyline for Magnolia, this is an early game, it will not favor the popular team. Just my thoughts though.  Smiley
Wait for another game or three and then we'll probably see that the odds are going to change. Right now, it's like a real gamble for those who wants to bet with Magnolia. So, this is gonna be a fan betting for his favorite team to show support. But if you don't want to bet as you think that it is a trap, that's okay.

And there's the line movement, it's now -2.5, perhaps will move again to -3.5 as the game is nearing. SMB here are more ready, they are well rested while Magnolia only has a few days rest then they'll face the SMB in game 1. Trap or not, I think these two teams are sister team, they can create a script on their own to make this series interesting, so always go with the underdog but not this early.
SMB backers had probably bet last night when the line was still -1.5. Even at -2.5, I guess it's still resoanable as SMB hasn't loss yet in the playoffs. Refs trying to ruined them but they are just too dominant, so game 1 is very unpredictable, and if you think of winning always go with the better team and we know which team is the better.

I hope there's a series betting online. Unfortunately I could not find anything like that on the bookies I'm using, they are more on per game better but with good markets.
There's hasn't been betting like that, this isn't NBA bro, so you can't expect something like that. Best chance to get a bet is through betting outside, or with your friends/officemates, they give better benfits to bettors as you don't have to pay for the commission.
485  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: February 02, 2024, 03:15:14 AM
Boston Celtics - Los Angeles Lakers - Boston Celtics (-10.5) - AD and James are questionable to play which is the reason why the spreads are high.
The point spread is at -16.5 pts last time I looked so they are probably not playing. But only way to be certain is at tip-off.

Lots of parlay was probably destroyed due to the outcome of the game. Not only the Lakers won but they dominated the Celtics on their own homecourt where they have a very impressive record. Nothing is impossible, lol..what's happening here? Was it a rig show?

I can't believe a Lebron+ Davis less Lakers could easily beat the Celtics.

-16.5 but they loss by 9 points. Reaves took charges and scored 32 points, but 7-10 from beyond the arc.. where's the defense C's?
486  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reason for acquiring bitcoins. on: February 01, 2024, 10:01:08 PM
First and foremost, to build financial stability and become rich in the process. Even if we don’t say that our sole objective is to become rich, but we all know deep inside that we want to live a convenient and comfortable life and that will only be possible if we are rich and have good amount of finances and wealth.

In addition to that, we also acquire bitcoin for our future retirement. Hence, working hard these days and having sleepless nights are part of the process so that we can build a brighter retirement with our family in the future.
487  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Jerwin Ancajas vs Takuma Inoue - February 24 on: February 01, 2024, 02:35:29 PM
By the way, are there any market aside from the 3;1 odds for Ancajas? Market like KO win in rounds ranges?
There's no other market for now, you can check from time to time here https://duelbits.com/sportsbook/boxing/match/46299231-Inoue-Takuma-vs-Ancajas-Jerwin.....That's from duelbets, not sure if other bookies have more markets but I doubt since they have few odds provider, so it's probably almost the same. It's still too early though, and it's not a major fight although a championship fight, check back a week before the fight, for sure you will see the markets you are looking for.
488  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 01, 2024, 01:55:21 PM
And the Finals is now set.  Magnolia didn't give Phoenix another chance as they finish the series in 4.

As per schedule, the first game will be tomorrow at 6:15 pm, this is quite early for a finals, so let's arrive home early to be able to watch this.
Betting lines are as follows;

SMB -1.5
Magnolia +1.5

over/under (no line yet).

Smiley

This is the FINALS, Magnolia finished at the number 1 seed during the regular season, so it's hard to call it as a trap. However, that's your personal opinion so I might have to respect that. I guess we'll have to wait a bit, let's see if there's significant line movement so we can tell what's happening.

If I can't be confident with my pick, I think I will go on the total. As we all know, Magnolia loves to play pressure defense, so we are looking at another low scoring game here. Maybe I'll stick to that, quite safer than betting on the point spread.
489  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At a range of 2years, can a Bitcoin literate invest with a borrowed fund in BTC? on: January 31, 2024, 11:01:39 PM
It’s easy to say that your friend will not be panicking since the duration of two years is quite long. But if you are already trading but still not making significant profits but only consistent losing within that 2 years, then most probably you will surely develop worries on how you will be able to pay back that loan. Remember that trading won’t never guarantee a fixed and consistent profits, regardless of how good you are in trading. If you are highly skillful on it, you might be making massive profits but it won’t be happening at all time as there are still inevitable losses in trading at some point.

Now, the question is if you are skillful in trading? Because if not, it’s better not to take any loan that you will only regret later on. Save if you want to trade, and trade of an amount that you can afford to lose. That way, if you lose, at least you are not compromising other people’s funds.

490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is the bull run begun ? on: January 29, 2024, 06:00:17 PM
We are expecting for a bitcoin halving first before we will be seeing bitcoin bull run, so even if the market seems bullish, that won't guarantee that the market is already entering bull run.

However, bitcoin has experienced consistent price decline these recent days so definitely, that won't happen when we are already in bull run. But most likely, that's mostly part of correction that usually occurs in preparation for a bitcoin having that is already imminent.
491  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Adults of bitcointalk what are your candid advice to newbies in the forum? on: January 29, 2024, 01:43:15 PM
These advices are not actually for newbies only but definitely for all the members in the forum, regardless of its position. First, is to observe respect for each and everyone. We have different concepts and perspectives in each various thread so learn to respect individual’s post rather than posting negative comments. Second, never stop doing research and extensive studies. Making a quality post simply shows how knowledgeable you are about the thread. If you want to be a good poster, then always have the right information from reliable sources. And lastly, always follow the rules in the forum, you can never go wrong if you don’t break the rules.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gaurd yourself this year against crypto scams on: January 29, 2024, 12:30:58 PM
There is a tendency to always think of newbies as possible victims, and we try to guide them, but one of the main mistakes is thinking that it will never happen to us, so, overconfidence is what we have to take care of.

The best scam is the one we don't know about, it's obvious, that's why you have to stay informed regardless of your level of knowledge and experience.
You nailed it mate. Even people who has knowledge about cryptocurrency  aren't safe because sometimes we are dominated by greed. I know people that are into crypto but still they fall victim to scams.
When it comes to scamming, I think everyone will fall as a target. So we should not be confident that only newbies are the apple of the eye of the scammers, there is no excuse to that. With or without knowledge, if we let our emotions overcome our own mind, then we will fall eventually on their traps.

Getting the right and updated information is the key. If we see things that are too good to be true, then avoid it immediately so we won’t fall into future scams.
493  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {OPen}A multi-bet has failed with the lowest probability, normal:2023-2024 on: January 29, 2024, 06:22:48 AM
Sometimes it's not just about probability as bookmakers could sometimes overvalued/undervalued a team, and sometimes they try to intentionally do it to pursuade the public in betting the high favorites. That's why I don't usually bet on a heavy favorite that has a high spread with a very low moneyline odds.

You mentioned the Minnesotta Timberwolves in your example which is only 1.07, a similar thing happened today with another game which is between the OKC and Detroit Pistons (same league).

As per bookie, here are the betting odds.

Quote
Thunder vs. Pistons spread: OKC -12.5
Thunder vs. Pistons money line: OKC -886, Detroit +592

Converted to decimal, that's 1.11 on its moneyline.
494  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: January 29, 2024, 05:38:52 AM
The first game is over and the Phoenix Fuel Masters have avoided getting eliminated today. They came back from a huge deficit with a good run in the 2nd half. At some point, they are down 20 points but their strong come back in the 3rd quarter changes the momentum in their favor until the end of the game.

Final score 103-85... Huge win, who would expect they'll beat the Magnolia by 18 points.  This team does fight in every game they have, they might win game 4 and make this series very interesting. Everyone was contributing but it was Jazul's  3 straight 3 point shots IIRC that gave the team a good lead and Magnolia were not able to come back anymore. Magnolia always play phyisical, but tonight, Phoenix matches it and even outdone them on that area.

That kind of rally is what they need to continue extending their chance though I can't deny that I'm bias in terms of siding myself with Magnolia and I think they still have the huge edge even they lose the game today, maybe not the night for them as they allow the Fuelmaster to dominate them both in offense and defense.

It will change the tempo especially if Fuelmaster will manage to duplicate the same system to win another game and push this series to a do-or-die game.
It's gonna be a fun series for sure. Winning game 4 will make it a do or die game in 5. I like the Phoenix though but I feel they don't stand a chance against the SMB who swept the defending champion (if I'm not mistaken). Phoenix have to prove though because if they win the next 2 games, that means they are deserving the face the SMB super team.

Quote

Next game will be SMB vs Ginebra, do or die for Ginebra.. Can their motto never say die could save them?

They need to win, and for my own analysis, PBA needs to push that win to keep the fans hahaha.. but, we never know what will be the outcome and how coach Tim will find way to extend this series, SMB's playing at their best so coach Tim need to find that missing link to re-organize his troops, they need this game badly to avoid getting swept in this semi-final match.

Unfortunately they can't match the SMB's offense who could go inside and outside, it was the import match up thought, SMB's import is just too good.
495  Economy / Speculation / Re: 112 days waiting for bitcoin halving!! on: January 28, 2024, 09:46:47 PM
It’s more on buying and hodling to be exact. If you want to feel the essence of bitcoin halving most particularly the bitcoin bull run, then certainly buying and hodling is the best option. Don’t be bothered with bitcoin price volatility because we all know it will surely make a price correction before bitcoin halving, but since it’s a preparation for its bull run, the price will eventually recover again and give us a new all time high price when bitcoin bull run is finally present.
496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: January 28, 2024, 09:19:34 PM
As you might know, the price of bitcoin reached its lower point since last month.

Should those who want to buy more do it now or do you believe we'll see the bitcoin price get down a little more?

Some here were talking about rumours of BTC being purchased from Saudi Arabia, but well, that's just a rumour.
But people tend to panic and sell, so this might be the best moment to buy as much btc as possible. What do you think?
No one can tell whether it’s the best time to buy now or not because the price can be always deceiving. But if you won’t be buying these days, when are you going to start your investment? That’s why I probably understand why majority here want to emphasize that now is the best time to buy because bitcoin price is still in the process of achieving its new all time high, but when it’s already at its peak price, then it would be harder for us already to spend for that very expensive amount, even if we will apply DCA.

I believe it’s now or you’ll gonna miss a good opportunity again while trying to keep on waiting the perfect market entry. That’s what mostly happened to those who are hunting for its lowest price when we all know it’s hard to tell if it’s the lowest or not.
497  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie traders, work on yourself. on: January 28, 2024, 07:53:29 PM
Trading is certainly an individual’s knowledge and skills, and should be developed on your own self through accumulation of first hand insights and experiences that will definitely build you to be a reputable and reliable trader. If you can do that successfully, most likely majority of your trades will create a positive outcome, and a successful profit.

While trading can be build and developed all by yourself, a lot of us here are still seen being reliant to other’s market analysis skill and knowledge because they have seen successful trading from them. This makes an unhealthy trading because you depend your success from other people which I think is certainly not a good practice for a responsible trader.

There are lots of money on political betting, and since Duelbet is a popular and big sportsbook, I would not be surprise if they will add a popular election, particularly the USA election.

Just checked how much money entered during the 2020 election.

Bettors Have Wagered A Record $300 Million On Trump vs. Biden With $500 Million Expected
It seems that a lot of political betting money is going into the US election because it is the most heated election in the whole world. As for other countries' elections, there is no interest at all and according to news reports in 2024 there will be almost 50 presidential elections in various countries.

It hasn't change, it's still the same in the past. Even on sports, lots of sports in the USA like NBA, NFL, and MLB, they are very popular among sports bettors, so since it's the USA election, people tend to follow it and still bet on it. That says that USA is still probably the biggest country in the world, although debatable based on our personal opinion. I think we should just wait for since the odds are already in display on some website, probably not on crypto sports betting yet, but theyll list it for sure.

You can see the odds in this link  https://www.oddschecker.com/us/politics/us-politics
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the rush to gain profit in crypto? on: January 27, 2024, 09:53:08 PM
People who know exactly how to manage their investments before bull run were not desperate enough to rush and gain profit in crypto. But for those who are here for greed and nothing else, once they see potentials to be in profits, they will eventually grab for it even selling when it’s not actually bull run yet. And I think we don’t have control over them if that will be their mindset but we can always educate them not to take the rush because bitcoin price will eventually grow more when the real bull run hits the market.
