481  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC breakout on: February 14, 2018, 01:46:17 PM
BTC broke above the 9017 resistance point which was a low produce on January 17th, 2018 from the GDAX exchange.

The next resistance level is 9499 which was a high point on Feb 3rd before the last drop.

Why is this important?  Because BTC will be producing higher highs and higher lows which is the definition of an uptrend. This suggests that the previous low MAY have been the bottom price for 2018.

I say _may_ because BTC is still in the downwards trend channel. Once it breaks out an over the upper trend line, I speculate that it's off for a bullish (and volatile) run for 2018.
I am glad that you have presented a good speculation there but on what grounds do you base your facts on? Is it only because of price movements in the past few months? If that is the case then your speculation have low chance of it happening since bitcoin price cannot predicted merely by looking at charts and past price movements alone. It needs to also be backed by good and bad news(upcoming ones) and other factors for a more accurate guessing.
482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does the value of Bitcoin dramatically decrease? on: February 14, 2018, 01:03:15 PM
Hi Experts,

I'm a newbie and i'm quite confused on why the value of bitcoin has dramatically decreased.

i mean yes i expect that someday the value of bitcoin will decrease, but for that to happen in a short period of time there should be a good reason.

can anyone please explain that to me so i can learn something from this event?

Thank you in advance.
That's just how Bitcoin is, going up and down rapidly for the demands for it also changes rapidly. People might want to buy bitcoin today but tomorrow people might want to sell their Bitcoin followed by many others. In short, Bitcoin dumps because users wanted to dump Bitcoin at that time. They do it for many other reasons and it will be hard to list it one by one.
483  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your time span in buy/sell decisions? on: February 14, 2018, 12:02:27 PM
Day trading is very extremely definitely not for me. Most people wind up ruined very rapidly. My time span is years. I'm waiting until 2020 before making any significant moves. I still think that's when things will start to fulfil the potential they're promising.
Same here. I don't know how some people seems to do it but its really working for them. I tried the day trading things and I ended up lossing some of my funds, then I had to back out. The coins I wasted can't be recovered but I definitely learnt my lesson, which is not to day trade again. Now, I am fully holding coins and brought out some coins for investing in any ICO which I have fully researched and worth it.
It's different to anyone and your lucky to find what is the most effective strategy for you. In my case, my time span in buy/sell is interminnent since I buy randomly, basing it on market's action. If I feel that the price is about or near it's pumping period, I buy. I also buy when prices suddenly changes from a high one to a relatively low one(dump). I sell when I feel a dump will occur or whenever there are serious bad news about btc. Somehow this is the best strategy for me but I suffer losses sometimes.
484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has been acting unusually similar to the stock market on: February 14, 2018, 11:28:38 AM
So what. Bitcoin is bitcoin and stocks are stocks.

They are too fundamentally different things. It's easy to see why this may even be true at the moment, though. Because people are seeing bitcoin and stocks as short and medium term investments at the moment.

There are still long term holders that are holding bitcoin for when the SHTF or to preserve their wealth.

I don't care how much correlation BTC has to the stock markets, as long as it is bitcoin, I'm holding it. Bitcoin won't suffer in an economic collapse scenario(in fact it may even benefit), but stocks will.
You are right since Bitcoin is independent on an economy of a country but for now they are becoming fundamentally similar things. Like what stock holders want when they hodl it, Bitcoin hodlers(most of them) are in it for the profit and believes that it will go up more. For now, I think there are no correlations between the two on price but if you will correlate it in one way or another, there will be correlations(s).
485  Other / Meta / Re: Accounts users cracked for spam! on: February 13, 2018, 11:39:22 PM
Thank you. Then i think more easy make new account  Undecided
If ever, I suggest that she use btc addresses that are sign message capable since it can help on the recovery of account if ever it was hacked by someone. It will ease account recovery if ever a similar scenario happens again in the near future. All she needs to do is to sign a message in her btc address, then pm it to theymos.
486  Other / Meta / Re: HOW DO I RESOLVE RED TRUST, given by actmyname on: February 13, 2018, 10:29:26 PM
You gave 31 merit to a post praising LWF's ICO while you are a participant in the LWF signature campaign... I'd say you earned your spanking from @actmyname.

Besides that, when one looked at his merit giving and receiving history, you will see that the other account (All timer) also gave him some merits which is kind of fishy. If it is really for the sake of giving out merit, why would  you exchange merits in the first place OP? If you want your red trust removed, only actmyname can do that so if he is ignoring you, don't ever hope for a chance for it to be removed not unless he is removed in the list of default trust users.
487  Other / Meta / Re: 50+ merit rewards on: February 13, 2018, 01:29:25 PM
Maybe they just have too many sMerits, and they don't know what to do with them. We;ve been told that if you don't give out merits, then the right may be taken away from you. I think that is the wrong approach for obvious reasons.

It is far easier to give surplus money to the first street corner beggar you see to feed his drug habit, than it is to find a worthy organisation that needs the cash for project like providing defibrillators to schools and community centres.
.It really is obvious but does this have any connections with this? They can really dvide those merits to other random users they want to go and give mertis to . The chance of it happening is very unlikely and for this reason, I support OP's claim that cheating in terms of merits.  in this forum. Then if that is the case, users should be ban for doing it.
488  Other / Meta / Re: Spamming low level FUD - against the rules or not? on: February 13, 2018, 12:37:18 PM
You have to admit. When we open any site we see ads from Google adsens.

I have trouble understand why people buy these, or how they can be effective. A month ago I decided to buy a wood burning stove, and I did a bit of research before buying one. Now, almost every site I visit shows me pictures and videos of wood burning stoves in the advertising slots. How many wood burning stoves do they think a Bitcoiner needs? It's not as if I'm going to start using them to power mining rigs. Smiley
Yeah you are right. It is similar to when you have bought an electronic device recently they will show lots of ads regarding it. Since we all are mostly spending our times in crypto related things, most of us sees crypto advertisements on other sites everyday besides bitcointalk. Those ads are effective because people see them and when others sees them, some feels the urge to obtain  something better than what they have bought. That'simplest answer to your question.
489  Other / Meta / Re: Over 20 million views on: February 13, 2018, 11:52:11 AM
This thread takes alot of time to get 20 M, if this thread was in the altcoin section it will have 100 M views

I see many other threads get 2 or 3 Million  views in less than 6 month.
That still proves that OP's claim for bitcointalk being the most or one of the most popular forum site for technical discussion about Bitcoin. Nevertheless, even if some here does have an alt account, it is still a fact that bitcointalk have many users(what I'm pertaining is individuals) visiting daily. For now I do hope OP's purpose would be fulfilled.
490  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can MyEtherWallet be hacked? on: February 12, 2018, 09:16:07 PM
Hi guys!
I’ll tell you what I think.
I'm feeling anxious about MEW security.
If we change some characters of Mew prative key, we will get to anather wallet.
Exampe:
Prative key wallet 1: a1e57f1422ae77c1c51f1626d6cbd6ad376f184976a0e83b430ed7e8c66e998d

Prative key wallet 2: a1e57f1422de77c1c51f1623d6cbd6ad376f184976a0e83b430ed7e8c66e998d

After i change characters on wallet 1 a = d & 6 = 3, i get wallet 2.

Question is, can MEW be hacked easily? This can be dangerous for investors.
And why MyEtherWallet not connect to 2FA? This is a good measure to protect our wallet.
Guys, What do you think about this?
Myetherwallet itself cannot be hacked easily and the method you are pertaining to here will not get your account hacked since like what others said it would take many years for it to succeed. Although that is the case, myetherwallet can be hacked in many ways, not just phishing. I don't know what specific ways a hacker can do besides it but I am sure there are.many more methods other than that so be careful in downloading anything. If you don't feel secured, feel free to buy a hardware wallet like ledger nano s.
491  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Receiving Airdrops on: February 12, 2018, 02:03:05 PM
When receiving airdrops do you need to fill in a contract address to receive them or will it be automatically go through to my MEW address?
It depends on the airdrop you are joining in. For some, you need just to give them your address and they will send it automatically to myetherwallet when their airdrop is done. In some cases, you need to post or retweet on Twitter like how it has been for others. For some you'll have to do task or join their telegram channel. For some few ones, they do it randomly on users.
492  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: which are the coins that suffer the most from bitcoin fall on: February 12, 2018, 12:39:13 PM
hello guys
i want to know which are the altcoins that have suffer the most from this bitcoin fall and have loose a lot of value even if there project was good .{that can rise a lot now lol]
Most of the coins leading in terms of market cap has suffered most from this Bitcoin fall. Even if that is the case, it  will recover soon enough. Also I wouldn't call it as Bitcoin fall only since stocks by that time also have dumped which is quite unusual for it. This is a proof that the crash wasn't really caused by something crypto related.
493  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Beginner-friendly-coins"? on: February 12, 2018, 12:06:58 PM
Let's say you had some extra $25-50 you'd be willing to part with to gain some crypto trading experience. Which (alt) coins would you invest in to gain a bit of a profit to re-invest? I realize that's not a huge amount but hey, gotta start small, right?

Thoughts?
Since it is a very small capital, you would want to invest onto altcoins that are cheap as of the moment. Look for coins with good concept and lots of potential with low market cap now and wait for it to pump at least once in order to profit. Start looking for not well known coins because they are your best chance for profit if ever one of your picks pumped hard.
494  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ATH for 2018 on: February 12, 2018, 10:57:22 AM
Will we be seeing a return of ATH any time soon? If so,  what your opinion on when.  This year... next...?
I think we will be seeing some of the altcoins' all time high but on others, we might not. If you are waiting for btc all time high, it's better to not just do that. Instead , also consider to invest into altcoins with potential to reach it's ath in the near future. If all time high of cryptocurrencies would not be reached this year, I am sure we will see an all green day on alts and see most of the altcoins' all time high. thanks
495  Economy / Economics / Re: Reasonable Regulation for Bitcoin and Cryptos on: February 11, 2018, 07:46:18 PM
If the citizens of that country really want to push Bitcoin as a currency they really need to sacrifice the anonymity of Bitcoin and it is by regulation. The government can control and monitor Bitcoin transactions by associating their citizens with their designated Bitcoin wallet address. With this method I see that crimes would be harder to commit from online theft to money laundering all addresses will be associated to a person as long as that address belongs to its citizens. Making this possible is if course having their own local wallet provider that is provided by their government.
Even if that is the case, it would still be easy for anyone to create a wallet on other means and not by using those local wallets unless they will enforce their citizens to use it. Another method that might solve the problem at hand generally is to make exchanges more regulated and what I mean by it that they force all exchanges in existence to compy with it. That being said, I think it is impossible in its own way since it will be hard to do that if many countries would not take action.
496  Economy / Economics / Re: Where you see a Crash, I see a Fire Sale! on: February 11, 2018, 01:41:26 PM
Me. They also say bitcoin is dead, no future, won't survive, every single time when the price experience dips or correction.
That's how it has always been right since the inception of bitcoin? Just cope up with it and sooner or later you wont even have an ounce of worry even if many people started spreading doom post about bitcoin. Just always remember that bitcoin is resilient and it have a chance for recovery every time it dumps so take the risk so that you wont regret and say that you missed the bitcoin boat after it has pumped again.
497  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you see the connection? on: February 11, 2018, 12:51:13 PM
In the last couple of weeks we could see the problems on world stock exchanges, the fall of Dow Jones etc. Analysts say this will continue in the future too.
Although Bitcoin isn't tied to that market directly do you see any influence of this situation on Bitcoin price? What is your opinion?
I dont see the connection between bitcoin price and the problems on world stock exchanges. In fact, if that is the case people should have had at least considered bitcoin as an hedge option during those times and helped boost price. My take in this matter is that there is something greater at work behind the scenes and a nasty situation will soon occur that might help boost bitcoin price or vice versa.
498  Economy / Economics / Re: Types of Exchanges we know on: February 11, 2018, 12:03:21 PM
To which type of exchanges you would adress hitbtc?
As far as I know hitbtc is a centralized exchange since admins are the ones who process the transfer of funds and there are support team as well. Also, they are the ones who hold your funds unlike on etherdelta where the transactions happen on ethereum's blockchain itself. To know if an exchange is a centralized one or not, know if they are the ones(creators, owners of the site) who hold your funds when you deposit it to them.
499  Economy / Economics / Re: Types of Exchanges we know on: February 11, 2018, 10:13:56 AM
Nice article OP, you really did your best in writing this up. Well  for me, I have always prefer a decentralized exchange to a centralized one. I can't seems to be littering every exchange I intend to trade on with my identity. Though, KYC is good for security purpose but I won't even make the mistake of leaving my coins in an exchange for too long, cause no exchange can give you 100% security.

Thank you for merit by the way  Tongue !

Do you use any decentralised exchange now, which really does not require you to  upload selfie with passport before you could trade? If yes, please name it and I include this as a strength of decentralised exchanges.

As far as I know etherdelta is a decentralized exchange and it doesn't require one to upload selfies with passport before trading. Also, some good decentralized exchanges are wavesdex, open ledger dex, and crypto bridge dex running on bitshares network. You might want to check them out first before including it as a strength of decentralized exchanges, as you might find other weaknesses in the sites I have mentioned.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: All who are doubtful and fearful, please watch this on: February 10, 2018, 11:01:29 PM
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4OKuF8JLn0

Please watch this video. The guy is absolutely right on so many levels.

1) crypto is not the only market which is experiencing a pull-back
2) Everyone TALKS about Bitcoin, but not many people actually HAVE Bitcoin. That mean, there are a lot more money pouring into the market.
3) It's time to PLAN a solid plan to execute, when market will turn

ARE YOU READY?
ARE YOU READY FOR THE BIGGEST EVENT WHICH IS COMING?

Let me know what you think about this guys, this is a short video, and the guy encompassed the whole night of my own research and more in this video.

Thanks for sharing this video it somehow helped me see clearly on what really is going on with crypto currency market and why it crashes now. For a while now, I thought tether is the one who caused the current pull back but looking at the video, I now know that Bitcoin and crypto are not the only ones experiencing a pull back.
