probably a stupid question but: I just installed the XC app (windows) and it keeps saying 0 active connections?? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to configure anything else? Have tried to disable my firewall but still no connections... thx
Add below to xcurrency.conf file and save it. server=1 listen=1 rpcuser=username rpcpassword=password rpcport=32347
addnode=east01.xcnode.xc-official.com addnode=west01.xcnode.xc-official.com addnode=west02.xcnode.xc-official.com Still doesnt work... Any other suggestion? backup wallet.dat delete all xcurrency roaming folder and re-install in the new releases the conf file is already in there, if you are in the tor network it takes more time to get connections still doesnt work, not on tor network, got the install file from http://downloads.xc-official.com/release/windows/ (the xc website) shouldnt be this difficult... Do you have any anti-malware or anti-virus running with real time protection? Just a thought. Nope, all of them deactivated. Its been more than 2h and still 0 connections, I give up... Didnt have this problem with any other coin client The installer creates a shortcut in your start menu, is that what you used to launch the client? XC uses several different seed mechanisms, so this is an odd issue to have, sounds like firewall or port issue but with out any more diagnostic data I can't be sure let me know if you need further help

I just wanted to clarify that XC's REV2 Mixing solution isn't based on coinshuffle but is similar enough that I thought it would be a good starting point to help get a basic understanding how XC's trust-less technology works.
Hey dan, I think the Q & A should be held in reddit so as many as possible can ask you questions directly, before that a topic in main BTC should be put for people to know you will be there. Ideally I'd like to collect a list of questions so I can run through them at once and then answer back

lol, XC supporters, you try to use my example of XC multisig addresses to support your argument?? I created them to SHOW YOU what is a XC multisig address, since you never saw them before Now please show me in your **blockchain** a multisig address with transactions associated with it, so people can see how it worked. You don't create a multisig address for fun, you use it for some transactions. Can someone with the technical knowledge answer this as soon as possible please. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=741018.new#newThey are mixing apples and oranges, XC is trustless based on the signatures of all parties during the private transaction. Its not using MULTI_SIG N OF M Address's. The transactions are SIGNED BY ALL PARTIES, if any of the outputs are missing, then it is not signed by all parties. Here is an example of a private decentralized distributed multi-path transaction consisting of 4 parties. >>> http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/tx.dws?229236.htm

Just seen this image on reddcoins forum. We need to up our game. even though we have far less nodes in total, we could be winning this if we all had them running. I have an older version of a windows wallet on my puta. Should I download a new one? Or can I update the old one? What is the best way? Hmm.. Looks different at http://chainz.cryptoid.info/xc/#!network

It seems to like my 15 gridseed farm. Many pools ban my little farm. The vardiff on this pool runs things very efficiently for me. I'll give it a go for 24 hrs. & then count my coins......... ATC, are you mining scrypt ? I just saw a few workers jump on and boost the hash rate quite a bit. I'm mining scrypt with my gridseeds and X11 with gpu cluster...

I might be asking the obvious.... but is the anonymity feature using mixer a done deal ? It is not peer reviewed and open sourced as far as I know. But is it working perfectly? Why is the focus now on chat, video etc.?
No, there is an update coming

Hi all, need some advice Have xc wallet online, conected for almost 3 days. But.... my stake amout still keeps at 0.00 https://i.imgur.com/7zZ3Np9.pngIs this normal? Where may be the problem? XC's difficulty is much higher than it was before, requiring a longer stake time - 10+ Days will its still average out 3.33% per year? I don't quite understand staking. Thanks. Yes it will

Nice, just need to get it updated to say XCurrency Also I wanted to quickly update the community about the code reviews and the reasoning behind it. The review itself is only about the code, not the people involved - checking for anything amiss or harmful. There are other solutions for that in place already and it is up to the individual buyer if they should invest. It is not financial advice in any manor. Also any and all proceeds from code reviews will to be donated to charities which benefit children as I feel this is a good way to give back what I can. Dan

I should have an updated whitepaper on both the decentralized trustless mixing and the xchat by the Sunday night, if not sooner. Sorry Dan, I deleted my post because I wrote it in haste and frustration. I apologize for my harsh tone [/quote] no worries

Dear Aero Community, I have completed the review, due to the Aero's Dev sending me updated code which included "decentralized encrypted e-mail", I required additional time to review this new feature Peer Review available for download http://downloads.xc-official.com/atcsecure/aero%20code%20review.pdfAccording to the DEV's the decentralized encrypted email should be available for the public very soon!!! None of this has anything to do with XC All i did was start a thread to bring some more awareness to XC, did i do something wrong? and how exactly does a thread about XC have nothing to do with XC...im confused now. Ah no worries, I was implying the FUD around Jasin and the ASIC situation, that has nothing to do with XC

Yeah Jasinlee Isn't our Dev though. He's just helped/helping out. Also all that stuff has been discussed in the XC thread, had a reply for Jasin, and is basically nothing do do with XC anyway. Dan Metcalf is the Developer of XC - http://www.linkedin.com/pub/dan-metcalf/12/1a8/b82 And yes, XC is open source, Rev 1.5 was released a little while ago (and has already been copied) Further releases are being released on a delayed timeline to try slow down the copy/paste P&D crew. They're currently on Rev 2.47 or thereabouts) Isn't he your #2 core dev per website? http://www.xc-official.com/the-xc-team/Does it say #2 core developer? No it does NOT
