481  Economy / Speculation / Re: Experts! is it time to sell or buy? on: July 09, 2017, 04:34:22 AM
Experts I need your help,,I am thinking of buying 2-3 bitcoin this month but just wondering if it's a good time to buy or should i wait for the price to drop?

Monitor the market. We cannot entirely say if Bitcoin will go up or down. But as we approach the date for the activation of segwit, we will encounter so much volatility, maybe some drop but not harsh. So it is best to pay attention to the market especially on the final weeks of July. Major fluctuations will happen on those weeks. Buy when the price drops and hold it tightly Wink
482  Economy / Economics / Re: Would bitcoin help teach kids about saving? on: July 09, 2017, 04:28:17 AM
It is possible that they will learn about the importance of saving when you introduce them to Bitcoin. They may be fascinated about the growth of Bitcoin by just keeping then in their wallet. And maybe, they will start to explore about bitcoin and find some ways in earning more. Well this is just an educated guess, we cannot really know what will be the impact to them. But hopefully, all goes to what you hoped for.
483  Economy / Speculation / Re: any chance bitcoin to rise up to $5000 this year or a fatal crash? on: July 08, 2017, 08:05:28 PM
Hello all experts, what do you guys think about it? Is there any chance for bitcoin the digital currency to rise up to the level of $5000 this year. I just read a news and now they are saying bitcoin speculators are the new day traders which definitely means the volume is rising and so are the traders.

I am waiting for that increase. It is possible. We are facing some solutions laid on the table right now and if the activation of segwit ends well then $5000 would be a piece of cake. Bitcoin could go even higher than that since we have more demand than yesterday. More and more people are getting hooked by Bitcoin and we have some countries in the process of legalizing Bitcoin. It should be take off time any minute now.  Cool Roll Eyes
484  Economy / Speculation / Re: Idk if it's still a good idea to buy bitcoins since the price is $2500 now? on: July 08, 2017, 08:00:40 PM
I would say that you must have felt so disappointed when you did not buy Bitcoin when it was only $50. So do you want to be disappointed again? Buy some Bitcoin now and hold 'em for a long period of time. That will assure you that you will gain so much from this investment. Your fears will not bring you somewhere. It is better to take some risk than playing safe.
485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I buy? on: July 08, 2017, 07:55:38 PM
Hey guys

So as we all know the fork is happening and I'm kind in a grey area what to do atm... left with many questions such as

Once BTC splits into BTU does BTU price start from bottom or will it be same as BTC?

And should I buy more btc right now it's not for holding I will be investing into alt coins

A hard fork is not yet certain at this point. And if ever a hard fork will take place after the segwit activation, this will not lead to a BTU/BTC chain split, that was an old issue months ago. Move on dude.

If you want to buy bitcoin then this is my suggestion for you, buy some bitcoin using half of your fund today and wait for the activation before buying again the remaining half. This way you will be on the safe side to whatever will happen
486  Economy / Economics / Re: When to buy and sell bitcoin on: July 08, 2017, 07:29:25 PM
When is the best time to buy bitcoin and when do you think is the best time to sell?
I think its a great time to buy now but when is a good time to sell (if you have any idea please share)

Any time is applicable in buying Bitcoin, just consider the time for how long do you intend to hold your coins. But it is wise and advisable to buy Bitcoin on dips or when the price is low. This way, you can buy more Bitcoin at a lower price. And in selling them, sell them if you will have a profit from it or simply selling them if the selling price is higher than the buying price when you bought them.
487  Economy / Economics / Re: Probability of Bitcoin split on: July 08, 2017, 07:24:24 PM
I'm sorry, but is it even possible, dude? Bitcoin split seems like a strange idea.

Yes, it is very possible. Bitcoin has a threat of being split due to the Segwit2x. The Segwit2x is the activation of segwit on or before August 1st and around November, a possible Hard Fork (the split) will take place because of the 2MB block size increase that will be done by having a hard fork. Though there is no certainty of the Hard Fork to happen. No formal claims was released as of now if ever Bitcoin will undergo Hard Fork or not.
488  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we push the actual use of Bitcoin ? on: July 08, 2017, 07:16:17 PM
Before encouraging big and small companies and businesses to accept Bitcoin as a mode of payment. It is best that you should spread the knowledge about Bitcoin to your friends, acquaintances, colleagues, or to any person you know. That way, more and more people will know about Bitcoin and if more people uses Bitcoin, companies and businesses will start to accept Bitcoin. And this will continue to spread. All will go with the flow, all you have to do is be the force that will trigger a big flow.
489  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: July 08, 2017, 07:08:55 PM
Well before being the strongest currency in the world, why not act like a currency first? Bitcoin is acting more like an investment rather than a currency. There should be no argument in that. People are being engaged to Bitcoin not as a currency but as their investment or asset. As long as Bitcoin stays this way, there is no way that Bitcoin will be the strongest currency.
490  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can bitcoin be used for regular transactions.. on: July 08, 2017, 06:58:05 PM
The biggest fear that many will have is how do we use this currency in regular transactions, like for some fruit, veggies, plumbing or a beer.

So far this seems like an easy issue to resolve. The technology is there, the apps are coming along and there are a few sites that offer auction style sales. The wallets are there and all that is needed are localized people to help local businesses.

The last step is the education. Anyone have good ideas on the best path of education on applicable purchases using bitcoin?
So I have something in my mind that could happen:
- Developers do something that can decrease Bitcoin fees.
- Developers develop a wallet that everyone uses it and they can send Bitcoin instantly (like any other online wallet but more security)

1. The proposed 2MB block size increase is a way of reducing the current transaction fee. Having a bigger block means that more transaction will be handled at a time, thus halving the current transaction fee will not affect the profit of the miners.

2. If ever a single type of wallet is to be used by everyone worldwide, the developers need to have the wallet patented so that no more wallet will exist. Also, the wallets  out there should be destroyed, all of them, whatever type of wallet they are. This type of scenario is not going to happen. Instead of having a uniform wallet, why not reduce the time in mining a block? that way there will be more blocks mined at a short period of time and will result to faster transactions.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on? Bitcoin for the rich only? on: July 08, 2017, 06:44:07 PM
Each and every person have own thoughts and mindsets. Somebody thinks bitcoins for rich only. And my self, i didin't think like that as there are wonderful advantages with the bitcoins.
i also think that bitcoin is not only for the rich people, but it is for everyone who want to use. it. i am sure that bitcoin is not only for the rich people but it is for everyone and everyone has the right to use it and save it and spend it equally and according to their own wishes. i

Yes, Bitcoin is still for everyone. Everyone has the right to use Bitcoin. However, having the right to use it does not mean that you will and you can. Bitcoin's price is so much high as of now and people that belong to lower class just cannot afford to buy some. To think that they need a computer or a smartphone to use Bitcoin as well as internet connection. The transaction also comes with transaction fees which is crazy high currently. So even though the lower class people have the right to use Bitcoin but since they cannot afford to have some or use some then their right is useless.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The main and obvious reason Craig Wright is not satoshi on: July 08, 2017, 06:30:38 PM
Well I believe that there is no more point about stressing out that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. It is just stressing and emphasizing the obvious. We will not gain anything from proving CW wrong, it is not worth discussing for. Letting CW be would be the nicest thing to do, maybe he will got tired about yelling that he is Satoshi when no one pays attention to his every claims.
493  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what would happen if Bitcoin the big B got split? on: July 08, 2017, 06:20:02 PM
If ever Bitcoin will undergo a Hard Fork, then a massive drop on its price will be done. Maybe around 1200 USD just like the correction happened last May, it may even go below 1000. I am not certain about the price bracket but the massive drop is very likely.

I have read a post on a thread here than going through a hard fork is bad for Bitcoin and might even lead to its destruction. I have no certainties about it since I am not that aware and technical about Bitcoin as a whole.
494  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin in Economics class? on: July 07, 2017, 06:58:10 AM

Do you think they are talking about bitcoin in your basic ECON class?

As of today, I do not know if they are paying much attention to Bitcoin so they are not tackling about Bitcoin on the Economics class. They might had a quick discussion about it if the topic was about the monetary system or the history of money. Bitcoin could be mentioned in some discussion but since Bitcoin is not yet that popular, it will take more time before it will be discussed on such classes.
495  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: July 07, 2017, 06:37:57 AM
Hello everybody.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

Thank you Smiley

Yes, it is impractical for Bitcoin to be used on a daily basis just like fiat. This is because of the long waiting time of transaction confirmation and because of the high fees. Bitcoin is behaving more like an investment instead of a currency.

The fees will be fixed as long as the scaling issues are coped. Not just the fees will be lowered but the waiting time will be lessen as well.
496  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buy more bitcoin or wait for August 1st? on: July 07, 2017, 06:16:38 AM
So my initial plan was to invest more into bitcoin on a weekly basis but with the possibility of a split on August 1st I figured I'd wait a little. If there would be a split, there would certainly be a drop in price so maybe a good opportunity to pick some more up rather than doing it now. Normally I tend to make these kind of decisions for myself but since I don't fully understand what will happen August 1st I figured this would be the best place to ask.

There will be no split on August first.

If you are going to buy bitcoins, I suggest that you buy some before the activation of segwit on August. Maybe a week before August. Bitcoin's price is expected to drop at that time because of some people who might panic sell some coins because they are afraid of the uncertainties about the upcoming event. After the activation, the price will go up.
497  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: July 07, 2017, 06:10:25 AM
Even the blind can see that crypto Currency is making people millionaires all  over the world just because they present the holders of such currency with the financial freedom and opportunity to accrue large amounts of wealth base on currency investment . But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? Please i will welcome your advice so that I can make my decision on crypto currency investment.

It depends on how long do you intend to hold Bitcoins and how many Bitcoin will you hold. If you will hold a huge amount of Bitcoin for a long time then it is not too late for you. It will always depend on what amount and how long are you going to hold. I suggest that you buy Bitcoin before we approach the said date. I believe that after the activation of segwit, Bitcoin will  start to increase again (in price). That way, you can acquire more Bitcoin before it launches.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying airline tickets with Bitcoin? on: July 07, 2017, 05:52:04 AM
Hello guys!

I just want to ask if there's an existing offer already that accepts bitcoins by purchasing airline tickets to a specific destination? I'm an adventure type of guy, just finished my vacation last Monday. I usually travel like 3 to 4 times a year locally by plane.

Any thoughts on this guys? Thanks in advance.

I believe there is/are. Days ago, I have read a thread in this forum that the airline in Japan started accepting Bitcoin as payment. This is their way of utilizing Bitcoin, to accept it in different line of business. I am not certain if there are other airlines that accept Bitcoin as payment for purchasing airline tickets.
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is instant way to get rich ? on: July 07, 2017, 05:48:20 AM
This is possible for the people who had Bitcoins when its price is so low. By possessing hundreds or thousands of Bitcoin by then, being an instant rich person is a reality. But for the current price of Bitcoin, it will take more years in order to be rich. We cannot even buy/earn big amount of Bitcoin today. So this scenario is very difficult today.
500  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 August 2017, Does everyone think it is effect to bitcoin price or not? on: July 07, 2017, 04:27:45 AM
1 August 2017, Does everyone think it is effect to bitcoin price or not?

I would like to know.
should I buy bitcoin right now or just wait after 1 August 2017.

If everyone predict that the price is fall down after 1 August 2017 then I will wait and see it.

thank you.

what do you think about price?

The activation of segwit on August will definitely affect the price of Bitcoin. It will either be positive or negative but I believe that it is on the positive side. So if you want to buy Bitcoin, I suggest you buy before the said date. It is expected that it will go down before we approach that day due to panic selling of some people. And after the activation, we will see Bitcoin's price will soar up again.
