481  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Major Japanese Ticket Exchange Marketplace Now Accepts Bitcoin on: August 22, 2017, 02:38:14 AM
Another win for the longevity of Bitcoin.

It's nice to see Bitcoin being used in other countries, perhaps even more sophisticatedly. Honestly we are only scratching the surface for Bitcoin and the Japanese, with their advanced arcade machines, pachinko balls and rare vending contraptions, will probably invent a few new uses for cryptocurrency.

I can totally see arcades adopting one unified cryptocurrency that can link to mobile. That would be so dope.
482  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if we die? on: August 22, 2017, 12:14:43 AM
That's why you have to view Bitcoin as an investment, not a form of play money. The amount of uses and users participating is astounding. As the Blockchain gains more authority and traction as a real way to store value, Bitcoin will be ever more attractive.

Store your Bitcoins in a cold wallet and store it somewhere secure like a safe. There are many options for cold wallets. Check out my website for more smart investing strategies for the long, long term.
483  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think Bitcoin will survive after 100 year ? on: August 21, 2017, 11:14:56 PM
In 100 years Bitcoin could be one of the most valuable digital currencies in the universe.

By then most everything would be mined. BTC would all be hoarded. Some addresses would get lost, but overall we probably wouldn't be basing the value of Bitcoin against the dollar but perhaps another cryptocurrency which happens to be more efficient and less corrupt than our current idea of money, i.e dollar.

The universal multi transferability of Bitcoin makes it so attractive and secure as a store of value. As long as the Blockchain is hackerproof, Bitcoin should survive most anything.
484  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin Sound Money? on: August 21, 2017, 11:09:04 PM
Bitcoin is as sound as Blockchain as a technology is sound.

The entire cryptocurrency idea is built off Blockchain so as long as this networked technology is hackerproof then yes, Bitcoin can be used as "sound" money. Although technically Bitcoin is a store of value, it can be used as money for transactions despite its volatility.

It's multifunctional which gives Bitcoin great mystery and utility for the future. IMO Bitcoin is an investment.
485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Legendary Bitcoin Trader “masterluc” Predicts $15,000 Bitcoin This Year on: August 21, 2017, 11:05:09 PM
With those numbers it sounds like we are working on an exponential curve.

At that rate it means we can expect Bitcoin in the $100,000 range by 2022-2024.

Better start collecting your BTC boys, because if this math holds true that means  we're in for a solid financial revolution. The irony is that BTC is a universal gateway currency between the Fiat world and crypto worlds.

So mathematically as crypto gains steam the relationship between cryptocurrency prices and Fiat currency prices are correlated. If Fiat loses trust & value then of course the price of Bitcoin can get super inflated. It can only do this because of its limited nature and utility as a private store of value.  People would be willing to do anything to protect  their life savings. Shit can get real.
486  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest your 401k or IRA into Bitcoin? on: August 21, 2017, 10:56:51 PM
Never go all in on anything, especially with your savings.

Spread it wisely and you will end up better in case things go south.

Bitcoin shouldn't be an all or nothing strategy, but rather a calculated risk/investment which merits consideration of around 10-50% of any investment portfolio, depending on who you are results may vary.

A smart investor wouldn't have all his or her eggs in their 401k so it does makes sense to invest into a Bitcoin 401k from a financial diversification investment perspective. Real Estate, Gold, Art and Internet businesses would also make great assets in the event of a financial crisis.  It would make a lot of sense to time the market however for Bitcoin price so if there are any crazy media stories in the near future that would be a good time to buy.
487  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Bitcoin Affiliate Programs on: August 17, 2017, 09:47:27 PM
I am in the process of building a few Bitcoin related websites and YouTube videos. As someone who has been doing affiliate marketing for a few years now I really want to dive into the Bitcoin space as a space to earn commissions. The difficulty is finding good Bitcoin related  programs that actually pay out well ( and aren't scams).

What are some of the best Bitcoin  affiliate programs that you know of?

I think faucets are a good system, or Qoinpro. You get free Bitcoin daily with Qoinpro and everyone you signup you get a percentage of their coins as well so you can make a lot of money for free.

Faucets are definitely a good referral system. If you can get enough people, the mass influx of people claiming a faucets each day can really add up. Here is a screenshot from my Moon Bitcoin account. It has been slowly growing in speed, and will be very lucrative if I can 10x or 100x my current rate of signups. I don't even worry about claiming everyday because my referrals make up for it.  Grin

Thanks guys for the response.

I totally forgot about Genesis mining as I am sure that one has huge payouts. Thanks for this suggestion  Cheesy

I know that both Eobot and FreeBitcoin have decent affiliate programs as well.

I recently came into contact with another program called USI-Tech that uses forex software to trade BTC. Has anyone ever tried or heard of this one?

I'm sure there are plenty more Bitcoin affiliate programs out there as well. It's almost like Bitcoin was created for amazing affiliate programs.

490  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it wise to invest 1k into Bitcoin at this point? on: August 16, 2017, 06:12:48 PM
It really depends on your investment strategy and patience level. If you are holding Bitcoin for the long haul (more than 6 months) then anytime would be a good time to buy in. Of course, timing the price so you get a good value is both a good idea and risky at the same time.

Who knows when the price will go up to $5000? There is little chance of it dropping to $0, so you really have to do a risk assessment on the market and yourself.

Either way, most of the world is skeptical or just now learning about Bitcoin, so there is still major opportunity ahead especially with its limited supply and expanding uses.

You could gamble on cheaper altcoins and then invest the profits into Bitcoin, but imo that is more risky than buying Bitcoin flat out.
491  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest your 401k or IRA into Bitcoin? on: August 16, 2017, 06:06:55 PM
Bitcoin is like a new Gold asset class in a way. I probably wouldn't invest my entire retirement into Bitcoin, but somewhere around 20-40% of my entire portfolio would make sense. The risks may be somewhat high, but if you keep it safe with diversification, the risk for rewards is so much greater.

Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies like it are an asset class like no other seen before.
492  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest your 401k or IRA into Bitcoin? on: August 11, 2017, 05:05:59 AM
I wouldn't put anything other than stocks in an IRA.  Why bother?   You'd basically have
to hand over your private keys to keep crypto in one, and forget about putting metals in
there.  GORK what they'd do with them.  Best to keep your own bitcoin and buy a good safe
for gold & silver.

Even with stocks it is risky because of its decline in recent years. You may be better off with an IRA that follows an  index like the S&P 500. Even then, it sort of feels like a bet on the economy and corporations rather than on onesself with Gold or Bitcoin.

Just my opinion, but Gold and Bitcoin are easier to control and liquidate if needed, rather than having to pay attention to how Mr. Market wants to bounce around. It's a lot easier to follow the media movements for Bitcoin than it is for stocks and Fiat currency as a whole. Inflation and the time value of money does have a bottom line impact on retirement and 401k's.

This is also considering the lack of taxes coming from Bitcoin.

497  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price going up = Profitable to mine again? on: August 09, 2017, 07:05:34 PM
Since the price of Bitcoin has been climbing and doesn't seem to be done since SegWit is upon us, would it now be worth it to mine Bitcoins?

After all, the block sizes and difficulty don't change until every 4 years, despite what the price may be.

If the price goes to $4000 or $5000, I suspect there will be a surge in mining activity. Just want to get thoughts from BitcoinTalk members before I make a conclusion.
Bitcoin has nearly always been worth mining, otherwise it wouldn't have miners would it? It just depends on your electricity rate. You also probably need to use the latest ASICs.

The block size NEVER changes unless there is a hard fork, which requires consensus. I suppose you mean block reward which halves every 210000 blocks. That is about 4 years.
The mining difficulty readjusts every 2016 blocks (which is about 2 weeks) so as to maintain a 10 minute block time. It has always been this way.

The total network hashing power (or mining activity as you call it) does not usually reflect price changes unless the price declines very steeply in a very short amount of time.

You may have other misconceptions about Bitcoin like the ones above, I'd suggest you Google and read stuff. https://en.bitcoin.it is a very good learning source.

I don't have any misconceptions I was simply asking a question about the profitability of mining to people who actually do mine Bitcoins for a living.

I was wondering if the people who have been mining Bitcoins are making more than they did before. That is all.
498  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you invest your 401k or IRA into Bitcoin? on: August 09, 2017, 07:02:38 PM
It would be great if our employers sent Bitcoins to us instead of cash for our 401ks.

I think a pension paid in Satoshi would be very fun to collect considering its volatility and the climbing price. Imagine a 401k paid with no taxes on top of it thanks to a Roth IRA paid in Bitcoins.

Maybe banks should consider a new form of payment for employees and corporations. That would be sweet!  Grin
499  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: regret by not believing in BITCOIN? on: August 08, 2017, 11:30:00 PM
I think about all the time. My friends were buying drugs off Silk Road using Bitcoin and I was reading dividend stock investing books  Cry

Had I just asked a few more questions and taken an initiative to learn more about Bitcoin, I would be extremely wealthy right now.  Roll Eyes

Ah well, regrets are for pansies. And the only thing I can do is look forward. There is much opportunity ahead in the cryptocurrency space if we just use our imagination and foresight.
