When people realize that much of their gold portfolio is tungsten, fractional reserve, or stolen, then they will see that Bitcoin is 100% verifiably genuine.

... Anyway, what happened to all the naysayers here, now that the price is on the rise again? Over $400. Got tired of looking stupid?

Here is recent evidence of the tendency for gold and bitcoin prices to move in the same direction, and have similar trend reversals. This is a chart of gold prices at a one-day resolution... ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F2Hj8P4N.png&t=663&c=qSXoD-A-DivdVg) And here is a chart of bitcoin prices, likewise with one-day resolution... ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FIHGFHLD.png&t=663&c=RaGyWIPhOZ1AWA) Here is a link to a daily GLD (etf) and BTC, the correlation has been good from daily perspective since July: https://www.tradingview.com/e/A9moXR92/This implies to me that the mindset of speculative buyers is weighted towards Bitcoin as an asset these past few months. Not to nitpick, but while the resolution on both charts is daily candles... the top chart covers ~66 days, while the bottom ~90. This is what it looks like when the time scale is adjusted, with most liberal curve-fitting: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fs22.postimg.org%2F5vsh8j1oh%2Fchart11.png&t=663&c=Y42oxIkJH_u-rg) *Blue candles: BTC price, red: gold. /nerdage

It is over two weeks old, entirely irrelevant to this thread. Spam.
Lol, no. It's exactly two weeks old. You even try to put a spin on this, just can't help yourself, can you ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) This one is over two weeks old: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fs28.postimg.org%2F535bt7ri5%2FCapture.jpg&t=663&c=wzofR6iv-8XtIA) Anyhow, no need to get upset ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Russia FUD
Why do you keep spamming that over the forum? That's a Coindesk article. Coindesk is a pro-Bitcoin publication, AFAIK. If you think Bitcoin's leading news source is spreading FUD, I suggest you invest in better tinfoil. I am aware of the source. The question was why are you spamming it over the forum? I have posted it once in reply to you asking for negative bitcoin news. I have posted it here in response to Adam. It was both relevant and factual both times. Why do you keep spamming this thread with the word "spamming"? You used it once, that should have been enough ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif)

News don't matter for shit, how can you still not get that after this many years?
thats BULLSHIT! news makes 0 difference in the short term , all it dose if give an excuse to push buttons or to hold off pushing buttons. i agree but you can't tell me dell accepting bitcoin, court case's recognizing bitcoin as money, and the likes, have no effect on the overall value of these coins. Russia is planning to criminalize Bitcoin... Not simply banning financial institutions from interacting with Bitcoin businesses like China, but making anything Bitcoin-related a criminal offense. Russia Proposes Monetary Penalties for Bitcoin Use and Promotion

...30k guy ... invigorated this market.
Dumping 30k @ YTD low: Invigorating! I don't think I like this vigor thing... It may sound funny, but I'm serious: Look at the volume prior to October 5 and ever since July, and also look at the volatility levels, and you'll see what I mean. It was definitely a moment of invigoration if you consider how lifeless things have been. I do see what you mean, from the market/trading perspective this was great. Not sure how it played out for hodlers, tho.

... Buying at 70% below the previous ATH seems a good place to accumulate. Newcomers will likely think so too.
