4801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pre-sale] Lambodefi 🚀 An ecosystem of decentralized finance products on: March 23, 2021, 09:04:46 PM
Oh, for the love of God. They copied a marketing strategy from a dead project? What an irony!
I'm hoping they don't have any lofty goals for their project. Grin
It is ironic indeed, but let's wait for an answer from the team.

Hi, in addition the findings of Rikaflip, I would also like to invite your attention the picture of the team members, namely: "Jeremy Vaughn" and "Sharon Cook."
Yep, I didn't want to  mention that until I got confirmation from a few different sources as earlier today I asked you and another forum member  to confirm my suspicion that LamboDefi team is fake. That other member pretty much agrees with our findings.

Just wanna add that I think not only those two are fake, but two others, namely Kaiden Reyes and Alex Bowman are most likely fake too. It was the "Alex Bowman" photo that caught my initial attention. The only one that seems like a real person is "Adefemi Yusuff Adegoke", and there is an obvious difference in quality of his and all other team member photos.

If we are all wrong and these are real people, Lambodefi team shouldn't have an issue to provide few more photos of their team members or even better make a YT video proving that those are real people and not generated photos. Based on my previous experience, somehow I doubt we gonna get that.

4802  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 23, 2021, 06:11:31 PM
yes, not all those. Google is our friend during the pandemic, some of the movies I watched on streaming internet because Netflix has banned by the provider either.
Netflix is banned in your country? That sucks. What you could do to circumvent that is use VPN, preferably Express VPN as I know that they work good with Netflix so you can access content in any country.

but what I do resent with Netflix's own production is that most of it has the same distinct Netflix look and feel to them. It's like they have to cookie-cutter all of their productions for some reason.
I kinda had the same feeling years before when Netflix had really bad movies and they did feel like they were made for TV or something, but situation changed lately and Netflix started getting out some really good ones.

Anyone who watched these movies who has the possibility to win Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress because those were the only things that have two tight lines in terms of acting.
Regarding best supporting actress, no one really impressed me so far. I haven't see Olivia Coleman in father yet, and I do like her a lot. About the best supporting actor, probably best was the one who is main favorite,  Daniel Kaluuya. The I think that is overrated this year is Sacha Baron Cohen. What really annoyed me is that he was ocassionaly mixing British and American accents, which is a weird thing as UK actors generally don't have issues with American accent (while opposite is quite common, it's very hard to American actors to fake British accent. I might be nitpicking, but that;s how i felt :p.
4803  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pre-sale] Lambodefi 🚀 An ecosystem of decentralized finance products on: March 23, 2021, 11:29:28 AM
From what I could see, Lambodefi shared the reference links in their whitepaper (even though that could have been done much better and not just sharing them at the bottom of the whitepaper) but some of the content seems like its been taken from another DeFi project that is dead now, Cobweb Finance.

There are several examples of direct copy/paste, but one that really sticks out  is paragraph named "Marketing Strategy". Below is the screenshot of that, with Lambodefi on the left and Cobweb Finance on the right. Original source is from Cobweb Finance Medium where they published whitepaper back in November 2020 while Lambodefi whitepaper was published in December 2020 (at least that's what it says there).] so there is no doubt which one was out first.

As you can see, that is a word for word copy. First thing, I didn't see Cobweb finance being mentioned anywhere in the list of the reference, but even if it was mentioned, how can you copy marketing strategy explanation from another project?

So, I would like to hear from the team how exactly that happened, marketing strategy from another project ending up in their whitepaper?
4804  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: List of fake wallets on Google Play, 5 active at the moment! on: March 23, 2021, 11:09:10 AM
Every time I wonder how it is possible that such fake wallets are allowed in the playstore. I thought they had very strict admission requirements and that you don't just get into that with software. But apparently it works. Kind of a big bug actually.
It's not really a bug but more of a negligence. Google simply can't bother with this and doesn't want to check each app from a new developer manually but they rely on some kind of automatic system which as we can see doesn't work the best, and probably even cant be as good as if verification is done manually by a human.

Google covered their ass with TOS stating that "they are not responsible for any damages caused by apps on their store that are not directly released by them" (or something along those lines) so there is that. On the other hand, Apple has much more user friendly approach and they do heck the apps thoroughly, making them much safer for a newbie/average user.

With that being said, getting app directly from the developers website is still the safest way!
4805  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $20K to invest in coins - Where to start? on: March 23, 2021, 07:45:30 AM

Yes, I mentioned that in response comment
But that's not exactly a dollar cost average method if you waiting for the price to drop below certain threshold (in your case it's $50,000) and only buy then. So what let's say BTC goes down to 49k and you buy some with portion of your money, and then BTC goes back to 55k? Does that mean you won't buy again and instead you will wait for another "fair price"? How exactly is that DCA, and what if BTC never goes back below 50k, does that mean you won't buy ever again?

Point of dollar cost average method is to stop worrying about the current price and trying to time the market. Instead, you divide the money that you have to invest, and buy BTC in regular periods (let's say weekly or bi-weekly) no matter the price. In the long run this works flawlessly with bitcoin.
4806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: $20K to invest in coins - Where to start? on: March 23, 2021, 07:27:55 AM
If you/your friend are new to all this, I would suggest that you stick to bitcoin, or at least to invest majority of money in it, especially until you figure something sout and how this market works. But even then, if you decide to invest in altcoins, name of the game should be "make as much BTC as possible".

Thing is, while altcoins might offer bigger returns in the short time period, being a newbie means that you won't sell that altcoin at the right time, greed will kick in no matter what you said to yourself before like "I will get out when it makes 3x) so in the end you will end up with less money than you would have if you just invested in bitcoin.

I would wait for a dip.
I know people that said the exactly the same thing when BTC went to 30k, and are still waiting for dip to buy BTC for the first time. Imho, better tactic is dollar cost average if someone ain't sure. Less hassle and you don't have to time the market.

4807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌟 Investcryptocurrency.co 🌟 Invest In Crypto. on: March 22, 2021, 10:47:40 AM
Warning: Investcryptocurrency.co is a ponzi scheme as no legit business can offer you that kind of return. If you invest your money you will at best see a little bit of it back in order to trick you to invest more, but more likely you won't see any of your money ever again. For more info you can check scam accusation thread
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=83.0

Another thing; all those accounts you see on the thread pretending to be interested are just paid shillers, so do not get mislead by them as their interest is fake
4808  Economy / Scam Accusations / [SCAM] Investcryptocurrency.co ponzi scheme on: March 22, 2021, 08:30:11 AM
What happened: Investcryptocurrency is a just an ordinary ponzi scheme offering unrealistically high profit, pretending to be an investment platform. By the look of their announcement thread that is filled with newbies asking bunch of bs questions, they obviously  hired one of those bumping services.

I am glad to hear that you are feeling better @YOSHIE and that the worst is behind you. I see that you are already  slowly getting back on track and started doing what you do best and that is finding cheaters and abusers, which is great! Anyway, take your time to fully heal and I have no doubts that you will come back stronger than ever.

Take care and stay safe!

4811  Economy / Reputation / Re: Prophecy - "community driven" bounty NOT PAID on: March 21, 2021, 11:23:42 AM
Can someone explain to me the rationale of not paying out shitbounties like this? They just made a bunch of tokens out of thin air. What do they stand to gain by not giving a few of those tokens to the bounty hunters?
It's simple really; from what I could see, tokens in question (PRY) are erc-20 therefore on Ethereum blockchain, meaning fee for sending those is at least few dozens of dollars per bounty hunter. Since they have approximately 1000 bounty hunters (give or take a hundred or two), it would probably take them 40,000-50,000 USD just to distribute them to all bounty hunters. No wonder that they are looking for ways to reduce those numbers.

So yeah, even sending worthless shitcoins ain't as easy as it used to be Cheesy
4812  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] WitLink - Fake Team on: March 21, 2021, 10:23:41 AM
The site just launched with developers still working on it, as template, they carried those things. In 1-2 week, it will be updated accordingly.

Update: Thread is closed till Website is fully ready. Once ready will launch it again.
You couldn't even bother to finish the website before you started the sale? That makes you incompetent and greedy, and that's the best case scenario here. More likely scenario is that this is scam so you decided to go with the fake team in order to exit scam more conveniently. Unlucky for you but lucky for other bitcointalk users, you got busted immediately.

By the way, no one will buy the story about "developers" still working on website as we heard that excuse so many times before from similar scams.

edit: According to the roadmap your website is live since November 2020 yet we are somehow to belive that after 4 months your "developers" didn't have time to upload real team member photos?

Whois also confirms that your website is not new at all.

Now, prove to me that the current YOSHIE is the real YOSHIE.
You got it all wrong here. YOSHIE doesn't have to do squat! Is that's what we are going to do from now on every time someone goes AWOL for a couple of months?

Password changed, telegram changed, wallet changed and I am sure that the story would be very believable if all of this could be proven by YOSHIE himself with documents from his hospitalization as did Phinnaeus Gage before his death.
So according to you, YOSHIE should dox himself just to prove that story he told to @Coolcryptovator  is true? Don't be ridiculous. No one with their right mind would do something like that.

4814  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 20, 2021, 06:03:27 PM
In fact I have always said the same thing about oscar movies, there are real good ones that academy can't ignore, and there are those who are made just for oscars and that's it.
While it's true that some movies are more Oscar oriented, especially with topics that Academy usually like to see (rascism, inustice etc) not all movies that are nominated are made with the intention to win an Oscar so its not good to generalize.

Previous years were great examples for that, "once upon a Hollywood" and "the irishman" were movies that everyone expected to either nominated or win something and they were highly celebrated all year, I watched them and I had to take breaks to not get bored, it wasn't for me and I didn't really enjoy them at all neither.
Neither of those are kind of movies that are made with Oscars on their mind:
  • The Irishman was a life-long goal for Scorsese and unfortunately he waited for far too long to make a movie. Reason is simple; both Pacino and DeNiro were way too old for those roles. I mean, they were playing pepople that were ~20 years younger than them, and it simply didn't work. At least not for me. Best example of that is the scene at the beginning of the movie where DeNiro is beating some guy in the middle of street, while he is barely able to stand and not fall on his ass. That scene was a cringe. With that being said, if Scorsese made that movie 20 years ago, we would probably  got classic.
  • Once Upon a Time... In Hollywood i thoroughly enjoyed. I am fan of the era, Manson family and all that stuff surrounding Sharon Tate murder. I watched bunch of documentaries about the subject so I was really curious what Tarantino has to say. For  me that was his best film since Pulp Fiction. And no, it wasn't made with Oscar on mind. If yes, he wouldn't include that over the top violence at the end of the movie, which is kinda his trademark.

4815  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Source Application - dkbit98 <-- theymos on: March 20, 2021, 04:07:04 PM
I know I've already lent my support to dkbit98's application, but I'd like to do so again--and I'm wondering why Theymos apparently hasn't added any new merit sources to replace the ones that (I think) have dropped out in the past year or so.
Him being silent about merit and not approving anyone for almost year and and a half (if I am not mistaken) means that he is obviously  satisfied with the current merit numbers. That of course doesn't mean that people should stop trying to get merit source position.

Members aren't bitching about how hard it is to rank up anymore, but that doesn't mean it got any easier.  To the contrary, I think it's harder than ever, and I also think a lot of members have just given up trying to rank up nowadays.  It should be hard to do so, but not that hard.
One thing that might cause the issue is the fact that some merit sources who  had among biggest monthly merit allocations (at least based on their merit sent) are not active anymore, like @bonest261 and TMAN. As a matter of fact, there is even a list of inactive merit sources.

It has long been apparent that quality posts in our local community receive less merit than quality posts in other local sections and the time has come to change that fact.
Exactly. We could definitely use some help, as last month was one of the worst we had so far, maybe even the worst since i am making Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity. So yeah, @dkbit98 becoming a merit source would really help us to move from the bottom.

They say that a picture is worth a thousand  words, so here is the last month's local board performances. Croatian board had measly 0.07 merit/post ratio during February 2021. Let's see if we can go lower than that :p.

4816  Economy / Reputation / Re: What happened to Yoshie? on: March 20, 2021, 03:29:18 PM
As long as shasan doesn't complain about it, the loan should be considered sorted.
Exactly this. I don't understand why are people fussed so much about loan while person that lent him the money didn't tag him for loan defaulting or anything else of that sort.

YOSHIE's new signature doesn't look very positive, I'd say lock this thread and let him be.
+1

This would be the best as all we can do is to guess and make some theories, and nothing good and constructive can come out of it imho.

Pa to me bas ubija u pojmam. Netko nakon par min pocne prcat i onda to traje i traje.
Mislim to je i nekima taktika, viđao sam to u heartstoneu
Istina, toga je bilo pun kurac u Hearthstonu. Igra uopce nije nesto posebno kompleksna a onda svako malo naletis na specijalca koji ceka max koliko moze prije nego odigra. Zbog jednog takvog sam i rage quito i nikad vise nisam taknuo Hearthstone. Lik mi je svaki potez odigravao sekundu prije isteka vremena, i tako cijeli gejm.

Ajd ako mozda netko ima invite nek mi posalje. Volim sve kartaske igre, od bele do TCGa pa bi volio i ovo probati.
4818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 20, 2021, 10:14:17 AM
The only movie I saw was THE FATHER, only due to Anthony Hopkins was on in it and because I've found it on torrent.
Hah, it's quite opposite here. The Father is the only movie nominated in Best Picture category that I haven't seen yet. Cinemas are not opened here and I couldn't find the torrents, not even on private trackers Care to share the where you find it, via PM?

I couldn't agree more. I'm not sure what the Academy sees in those movies, but Borat (none of them) shouldn't be on any Oscar nomination list in my opinion.
I must say that I really liked the first Borat, while sequel is utter garbage that deserves several Razzie nominations instead. It is without the doubt worst film I saw in the last year or two. While in the first Borat you could at least think that some of the scenes and reactions were genuine, in the sequel absolutely  everything seemed forced and fake.

Regarding what Academy saw in Borat sequel, it's simple: it fits political agenda. As simple as that. If Sacha baron Cohen was making fun of Biden & Democrats, rest assured he wouldn't be nominated.

I disagree with you, who are you to say Borat shouldn't be on any Oscar nomination list? The Oscars don't award only drama movies, they also award comedies, and professionals disagree with you because Borat Subsequent Moviefilm has already won 2 Golden Gobes : Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy award and Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy award.
You do realize that we are expressing our personal opinions here? Even if Borat got 10 Oscar nominations, for me it would still be garbage.
4819  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 19, 2021, 06:39:05 PM
I believe it started as a joke, everyone was referring to Lauda as "he" and at one point someone said "she" then someone else said "laura" and everyone start screaming "he is she!".
That explanation makes sense. Someone started it, it spread and then he didn't want to spoil the fun so he let people guess it. And since he was mainly active in English board it wasn't  really hard thing to do.

Yep, everything is clear. As I said, anyone who understands Croatian and saw Lauda's posts simply doesn't have to guess his gender as everything is obvious. He always used masculine gender when he wrote in Croatian, therefore he wanted to be perceived as a male. As simple as that. But if people like to think that he is she for whatever reason, so be it.
4820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC seems to be fading out and loosing popularity. on: March 19, 2021, 05:15:44 PM
It’s always the same story that keeps repeating itself every time BTC reaches the new ATH, and trust me people were asking the same questions in 2015 when you could buy 1 BTC for less than $200 - but then it was considered expensive compared to the time when for the same amount one could buy 20 BTC or maybe 50 BTC.
I was exactly one of those fools that thought BTC was too expensive when I first heard about it. It was late 2013 or early 2014 (I can't remember when exactly) and BTC was ~800 USD. So naturally as many other noobs i thought that if I can't afford one whole BTC that I should at least buy some coins tha are cheaper so I can own a lot. So I ended up spending 100 USD on various shitcoins instead of buying BTC.

Few years later when I came back to crypto I didn't make the same mistake. Instead,  I started buying BTC, realizing that I don't have to own 1 BTC immediately, or ever for that matter. It was important to own any bitcoin.
