4801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: May 14, 2020, 06:56:16 PM
Me, I agree, I like Coach Tab to handle the Gilas as under his coaching job last time, Gilas were able to perform well in the international competition.
So hopefully with his guidance it will make Gilas a more exciting team to watch again.

Dickel's statement makes sense.

Tab Baldwin, being a professional coach with lots of great achievements and already knows the system in an international basketball league (he coached several teams in different countries on his whole coaching career), how can we say that he will not contribute well to the national team. As for the country, he was involved as a coach with PBA and UAAP for many years. He knows a lot.

I understand the sentiment of Chot Reyes, who else doesn't want to rise on top with a pure Filipino effort? But let's face the fact that our National Team needs all the help, guidance, and support they can get when it comes to international games,

4803  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Betting this June? on: May 13, 2020, 08:01:28 PM
As today still the pandemic outbreak coronavirus does not have a cure and the number of people getting infected are rapidly increasing and this is not a good sign for having the flattening the curve. Still, there is a chance that some of the places today will hold their country up to December because to avoid getting the virus spreading rapidly and increasing.

They already know that don't worry. We are talking about big people here. No way they will just push it without concrete and strong plan. The plan is not the usual live coverage of boxing matches you see with jampacked audiences. It will surely be different.

This is not just about gambling. It will also open up a chance for average people to get back on work again. Surely, there are considerations for this.

I wondered who are these fighters that Arum contacted.

Hopefully, there are big names. Smiley
4804  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you feel this pressure on physical gambling? on: May 13, 2020, 07:40:25 PM
In physical gambling (whether it's a big casino or just small gambling), do pressure on your opponents or playmates actually happen? Like for example, you only set a limited capital but since your friends still want to play, you will end up using all of your money. Or let's say in a casino, you have used all of your allotted money on gambling but since your opponent is winning and he wants to play more, do you exceed on your limit? Just because you don't want to look like you are afraid, that you don't have enough money already, and that you are losing?

I always feel that pressure especially when I'm losing but I do have a balls to say, I would like to out for now and will never push to recover my losses on that particular session.

I don't care for what others will say. Sometimes, if you just want to prove that you still have funds and you can continue as much as you want, it will just lead to much worst result. I'm a typical gambler that if I feel I'm losing, I will take a break to regain momentum, then refresh everything and come back the next time.

Honestly, it's easy to get out if you are losing rather than you are winning. You will never know what will happen next if after winning against your opponent, you will just get out right away even they still want to play.

4806  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Vaccine against Covid-19 should be made before sports events will take place? on: May 10, 2020, 08:09:37 PM

Let's face the reality. The world can't afford to wait for long for sports events to come back. The vaccine is a must but it doesn't mean they will wait for a 100% completion for this before returning back. I'm not saying back to its usual but at least, slowly developing while waiting for the vaccine.

The creation of a vaccine is serious. It's not a joke. And the sensitive part, it was made in rush. Risky to just test it right away to person even the result is good. It needs more tests. I admire our experts around the globe for making that happen as soon as possible.

I'm with Letter A but looking at the reality, it will not happen. There is no shortcut for the creation of the vaccine. Take note also of the production limit and the cost. Even let's say tomorrow, there will be a vaccine, the distribution of it will take time. Much better to have strict regulations instead for businesses to follow once they come back, including the sports industry.

BUMP!

STILL LOOKING FOR A MATCH! LOW BET! FRIENDLY MATCH! Smiley

I thought after 3 pages of replies, at least one match is already completed by now.

Anyways, we have a weekly local tournament that is open to everyone. It was organized by my friends to beat the boredom of being lockdown at our house.

It was now on Week 3 and every Friday is the match. I don't know if this was allowed to promote here so just PM me for more details.
4808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: WBC Explores Possibility Of Remote Scoring For Upcoming Fights on: May 10, 2020, 06:50:52 PM

WBC is a big boxing organization. It involves some of the big names. They aren't that dumb to just push on something that they are not fully prepared.

Yes, still risky but that's the part of slowly back to business with lots of considerations. As you know, their workers also need to get back on work.

For me, just let them proceed, and let's see if that will be successful or not. They will not be approved after all if the Medical Dept. sees something wrong on their proposals.
4809  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celebrities Will Have Seat in Poker Tournament for Covid-19 Charity on: May 10, 2020, 06:23:42 PM
This is not easy where not all countries will allow that. Because it could be illegal in some countries.

For that, organizers can think of another event instead. No need to follow the same event especially if gambling is illegal. There are lots of fund-raising activities, events, and sports competitions held by celebrities already around the world to raised funds helping a charity.

The project will only serve as an advertisement promoting poker that will entice everyone to play it with them since celebrities do.

You are correct as PokerStars will be the one that will provide the pot money. Sort of advertising and promotion.

However, looking at the bright side, the pot money is really a big help providing there are lots of supported charities covered by this event.

Anyways, Edward Norton is somehow a skilled gambler*. He used the knowledge he learned from his gambling movies. Smiley

4810  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some People Cannot Stop The Urge To Sports Betting And Gamble Even In Pandemic on: May 10, 2020, 05:59:04 PM
A gambler will always find a way and means to gamble, here in our country you cannot stop some gamblers from gambling they will always find ways, our government is giving a dole out and implementing amelioration to those people who are badly in need of money, but unfortunately, there are people who receive dole out from the government and receiver of amelioration, gamble the money they received and bet cockfighting and card games, so many of these people are caught and reported on the media.

You really cannot gambler they always find a way even in the worst-case situation like the pandemic, how about in your country do you have some people who cannot stopped to gamble even when your country is in lockdown

Yes, I read that news but you know, not all of them aren't really a pure gambler.

Some people use the money they got from the government's program in doing gambling because they want to make more. Some are desperate as there is no source of income in the whole period of lockdown so they risks and take the opportunity to gamble with the use of that money. However, that mindset is wrong and look at what happened to them.

So disappointment as that money should be useful to those who really need it but until now, never received any and yet others use the money to bullsh*t.
4811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Enhanced restriction in gambling casinos is it possible on: May 10, 2020, 04:59:35 PM
Do you think it's possible for gambling casinos to open now with enhanced restriction and customized set up, what do you think ?

We can remove the term "possibility" since expect that there's really a restriction and guidelines that will imposed at these casinos once they are now allowed to operate. It's a must, not just them but other establishments as well.

..is it possible with gambling casinos, of course, you can play a slot machine on your own, they just need spacing on every slot machine, on roulette games they can install glasses to avoid every bettor coming near to each, other so are on the other games .

Actually no need for spacing since it will not change the number of visitors inside. The spacing should be done in the waiting area.

What they must consider is to limit the number of people inside. In that way, it's still easy to follow the proper social distancing.

But honestly, after businesses will resume, I doubt there will be a good number of gamblers that will play on casinos right away.
4812  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will You Play? on: May 07, 2020, 10:27:30 PM

Honestly, not with that donation thing but gamblers will play on the site if it's meet their criteria e.g. the house edge, reputation, good customer support, accepted crypto deposits, fast withdrawals, and generally, the site features.

Sites don't have to do this mandatorily as in most cases, they have a separate budget for donation purposes. They can attract more players if they will not get some portion of the winner's profit.

In other words, the donation thing is the one that will encourage people to play for that site since while they gambling, they know they are helping but not via deducting 5% to winners profit. That's the typical system in casinos and physical gambling places, especially lottery.
4813  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Las Vegas Mayor Wants to Re-open Casinos. Thoughts? on: May 06, 2020, 11:31:07 PM

Here's the latest update about the story:
Mayor Goodman sounds off again about reopening Las Vegas businesses, resolving unemployment complications

Quote
At Wednesday’s City Council meeting, the mayor stressed her point about the high unemployment numbers in Nevada and called on the state’s employees to work on “resolving unemployment complications immediately.”

I think her plan of re-opening Vegas isn't just on her own. Surely her office received lots of calls from the community who are now unemployed to think of a way how they will survive the crisis and one of those is employment or any source of income. Continous relief isn't the answer as it can't sustain the family's needs for the long-term.

That kind of situation is a challenge for any head of the office. Any decision is critical. As much as the local government wants to contain all people to their homes, there are a number of families who can't afford to do that. For me, it's much better if their local government (Mayor's office) focus the relief and help to those heavily affected families on their community and those who are well-rich or still do have lots of basic stocks on their home are the second option. Although, I know they already did it but still not enough.

Even vaccines will be made, surely the supply will be limited and it's not an overnight process wherein it can be distributed right away to all people. I understand some people sentiments that they need to find a source of income but what we are aiming for here is a long-term solution and that is to minimize first the spread of the virus.
4814  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is bullish longterm on: May 06, 2020, 11:10:02 PM
I have a feeling that people buying bitcoin just because of the halving are going to be a little disappointed.

The market has a way of doing the entire opposite of what majority expects and this is because we refuse to answer of what happens when everyone buys the bottom.

I don't know why alot of people seem to worry so much about bitcoin investment, either the halving happens today or tomorrow, bitcoin is bullish on the longterm.

Do your own research and expect tge market to change its game.

There are people who buy bitcoin depend on their purpose, either for long-term or short-term or just expecting a quick profit because of the halving. Nothing wrong though as that's their money after all. Even giving them a suggestion to always DYOR, still, they will follow what's on their mind.

For me, just allow these people to do what they want or just literally don't mind them. In the case of disappointment, surely they will learn and will begin thinking if they will push their idea of getting involved in the bitcoin market. That's part of the experience. They will never learn if they will not experience the bad result of not studying how the bitcoin market behaves in the long-run.
4815  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: does anyone familiar with this crypto poker platform? on: May 06, 2020, 10:10:31 PM
So im making a research regarding different  poker platforms.

I come across with this web site http://pokerstraddle.com/ does anyone know who is the platform provider?

Thank you.

Where did you learn this site? The appearance and layout are good but we can judge it by only looking at their cover.

Their social media pages link is not working; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Youtube

I head to the Playstore to check the ratings and some reviews but the download link to their .apk version is a direct link. The app isn't listed in the Playstore.

Looks like you need to list this site as pending on your on-going research and proceed with the others.

Cant do a bet without permission from my team leader but I'll be happy to spar with you if you intended to do a friendly sparring.

I'm open to a friendly spar but I can't do it with my teammates. I will ask for their time on the real match. As you know they have their own chores. So the possibility of playing spar with you is if I will team up with some of our people here in Bitcointalk.

Cant do a bet without permission from my team leader but I'll be happy to spar with you if you intended to do a friendly sparring.

That's why the bet is just small, $10, $15. Not bad for a 1 game, Best-of-3.

Also dont forget that the ping factor might come in favor for those that set up the match as the room leader, so it is kinda hard to gamble on some game  Smiley

I understand. But that concern is also the concern once we set up a tournament. That's why Best-Of-3 is a must so that room leader is alternate. For who's the first one to be the room leader, it will depend on the agreement prior to the game.

That's what we did on Part 1 and actually we never consider ping as a major problem. They are from Indonesia and I'm from PH. There's always a test ping before the real match. We created a room first, choose random heroes, and play for about 5-10 minutes then quit since no problem at all at our ping and proceed with the actual match. After the actual match, we will do it again before proceeding in Game 2. If there's a ping issue, it should be felt at the start of the game or in the first 5 o 10 minutes. Just be honest if ever the match is now on 15 minutes and one team is already dominating the game then suddenly the other team complains about their ping.

Anyways, yes ping factor is a must but again, we will never know what will happen until we play in actual.

But I'm glad there's a sure team now. If you are not interested in a single match, it's ok. I will expect you in the tournament. Smiley
4817  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mobile Legends Gambling [Part II] on: May 06, 2020, 09:04:34 PM
On another side note, if anyone wants to play with me or even have a friendly sparring of 5v5 feel free to contact me through pm and I will add you in game ( or if you are interested in their magic chess game )  Grin

Looks like we have now 1 team that is sure to participate. 4 more teams then we can set up a tournament. Smiley

In the meantime, since you are the one who sends me a PM first on the day this thread was created, can we arrange our friendly battle? Something around $15 bet.

Deal? If yes, let's talk at Telegram.

May I know your ML id/username and Telegram?
4818  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wagering More or Wagering Less on: May 05, 2020, 10:26:22 PM
It's a general perception that if we gamble more, we can get more profit. Also we see gambling sites offering wagering competitions. The more you wager, you become eligible for a reward or prize money.

What's your though on this ?   Wagering more makes you win more money in gambling?

It doesn't matter whether a gambler wagered more or less. Gamblers are dealing with the house all the time.

About the wager competition, that's part of requirement so it really needs to be done if a gambler wants to compete but it doesn't mean getting a more profit in the end or increase the chances to make it happen. After all, that was a competition.

That general perception is a misleading perception.
4819  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Before Experience On Gambling...!!!! Stay Safe. on: May 05, 2020, 10:05:25 PM
You have a caring partner...
every woman must be very fussy with her partner's bad habits such as staying up late and smoking, my husband and I always make an agreement not to stay up if there is nothing important, self-regulation is very good especially time management for gambling  Kiss

It's just fine being suddenly wake up late but just to think to gamble, I can't understand what's going on to OP. Usually, a person will find a way to get back on sleep such as watching a movie or play games. But to gamble, there's really something wrong.

Maybe it's time now for OP to put everything on the box and try to avoid any gambling-related thing.

Good thing, there is someone who cares for him. Don't waste the girl's concern.
4820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tactile controllers when playing online. on: May 05, 2020, 09:45:09 PM
When I started out, there were only fruit-machines all around equipped either with handle or button to activate the revolving reels and I have always taken those ones that were one-armed and culminated in a  feelings of my influence on the resulting fruits.

That emotion has  diminished  almost to zero as I moved to online gambling services that lack of tactile reaction and I would like to touch the physical one-armed controllers that are tactile and resemble the old fashioned handle that would gave me back the sensation when playing online.

I agree with you. There are really times that we feel we can able to control the result playing on that classic machine.

Shifting to playing online, the experience is really different.

The kind of feeling will be understood by those who really spend time playing at the classic machines back then. I missed that fruit-machine. Part of my gambling experience during my high school days.

.. but the idea of having the control on the result can not be proven as true for it is still gambling and luck will always be our tool to win.

Obviously, it can't be controlled. It's just that, it's more exciting that way. In some cases, it works. Smiley
