RealBitcoin, you attributed my statement about socialist pigs to username18333. I wrote that, not him.

Oh ok, sorry about that, wanna respond to my post i made to you?
4803  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: August 09, 2015, 12:55:40 PM
So as the value now will go up, the price will follow. I think we will never see bitcoin below 200$, i think its very foolish to think that the next price increase will be a bubble, because now we got strong economic support for bitcoin, not only forum shills.

Financial assets (that is those which can be "settled" in fiat) are bubble-prone by definition. Bitcoin pretending to be money and having nothing behind it but trust is the embodiment of a bubble vehicle. So the next price spike can be nothing more but an attempt at...

An attempt at framing another bubble

Well sorry that nobody told you this but we live in a relativistic universe, nothing has value by it's own.

Bitcoin has value compared to fiat, just as gold has value compared to fiat, just as bitcoin has value compared to gold.

The valuation mechanism is like a giant scale, on 1 plate you got the instrument,  and on the other you got the basket of the other similar intruments you compare to.

Bitcoin is just as valid as a financial instrument as gold. Of course bitcoin is better than gold overall, while gold has some pros as contras, bitcoin too, but overall bitcoin is just way better than gold.

I already explained it why, a few pages ago.

4804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Be Deleted on: August 09, 2015, 11:45:15 AM
yup there are some uncontrollable things, Like solar flares which could fry the grid system for 4 years. So In that case the bitcoin will surely suffer, Anything like the revolution happens it would mean end of bitcoin, But when the electricity returns it would be back to normal.

There is another way to delete bitcoin too, Governments buy or hack the wallets and change the pass etc it would mean that bitcoin is dead too because governments will be controlling it and we will have zero or very little amount to play with.
All those scenarios are absurd. If the whole electricity of the planet goes off your least of your worries will be bitcoin because the entire civilization will likely go on a catastrophic phase.

I think that is absurt aswell, I mean why would nuclear apocalypse happen just because the power grid went out.

In 2 years the whole power system can be replaced, why would a post apocalyptic world happen just because a few wires burned out?

Enlighten me because I dont understand. Sure alot of stock markets and financial instruments will be wiped out, but thats more like banking losses.

The economy will be burdened, no doubt, but a catastrophe, i highly doubt it.

Everything can be repaired, sooner or later, and then thing will go back normal.
4805  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or gold? on: August 09, 2015, 08:09:42 AM
Gold has always been used as legal tender since it was first discovered in ancient times, of course i'm pick gold for investment.

Actually it was not, back in the imperial ages of ancient times, they were only allowed to use the special minted coins issued by the kings, and no other forms of coins.

I heard stories that people were forbidden for example to use the enemy county's gold coins, even though they were both gold, just for political reasons.

You obviously forget that you can always melt gold coins into bullion. Don't know about "the imperial ages of ancient times" (Ancient Rome?), but in medieval Europe you would go to the royal mint and they would mint legal coins from your bullion for a small fee...

Yes and they did the same inflation scam as they do now.

General: -Sire we need 20,000 gold coins to fund the next crusade but the treasurer only has 15,000 what should we do?
King: -Increase the taxes on those no good lazy peasants!
Treasurer: -No sire, they will revolt, we don't want that, that will cost us much more to defeat the rebels!
King:  -Then what shall we do, I really want that military campaign going!
Treasurer: -Hmm what if I re-melt those gold coins and mix it with iron and copper and make 20,000 mixed coins, the stupid peasants won't even
notice and we can pay the soldiers that way!
King: - Great idea my Treasurer, you are the best scammer in my royal court that I can ever get!

(meanwhile in the 21 century, replace the King with Prime minister, and the Treasurer with Central bank chairman, history repeats itself Cheesy)
4806  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cannot Be Deleted on: August 09, 2015, 06:06:11 AM

The only scenarios I can conjure are two: A catastrophic event that eliminates all electronic devices on the planet simultaneously,

It can still be restarted, even if the entire electronic sector gets hit by a massive solar flare, if a few honest people kept a backup of the blockchain in a DVD, then the internet, and bitcoin can be restarted anytime.

Now the havoc will be huge and bitcoin's price will temporarly hit 0, but after it's restarted it will go back again, after all its not bitcoins fault.

I`m more worried of the bank accounts and havoc in the economy that this can cause.

and the possibility that the bitcoin protocol and cryptography is "broken" either by exploitation of an unnoticed bug or by the invention of a Quantum Computer that is able to overwhelm the system in every way controlled by attackers.

Quantum computers are not a real danger for the forseeable  40-50 years. Even if a hyperfast quantum PC gets invented its still reasonably safe to hold bitcoins this way.

A bug could be, but i`m more worried of corrupt bitcoin core clients being downloaded , by somebody hijacking the bitcoin.org site.

Although a stuff like that can easily be detected and people will be notified.

Massive world wide exchange hacks, every exchange and online wallet provider.

A coordinated global hack of all exchanges and online wallet providers is unlikely, since they have different security equipment, its like coordinated hack against all bank accounts. Bitcoin is not a political enemy, yet, so its not in the target for now.

People loose interest and move on, no transaction = no fees, miners pull out, blockchain stops.

Thats silly, they wont lose interest, since constant innovation comes out every day. Plus they are invested in it, its like saying you leave 1000$ in a box, then you lose interest and never take it out from there...

Most crypto investers wiill just move to another coin i think.

Saying this i still don't think bitcoin will die anytime soon.

The only risk I can think of, which is the biggest risk is either:

    • Outright ban in the major hubs -It will shrink bitcoin back to small price and send it to the black markets
    • Massive regulation & taxation worldwide - It will slow down progress, but it wont stop it
    • Bitcoin 2.0 comes along with totally anonymous transactions & better security (1024 or 2048 bit protection) - Monero,DASH, and others are pretty big competitors and one day could take over

Out of these 3 bigger risks I highlighted the BITCOIN 2.0 is the biggest risk currently bitcoin has, innovation will destroy replace bitcoin eventually.
I don't think outright ban will happen now, banks love it due to regulation arbitrage, politicians love it because they can get more ***political donations*** due to bitcoin's semi-anonymity. Nobody left to ban it.

Regulation is a concern now, but it isn't as bad as you would have imagined. Yes Bitlicense has drawbacks but atleast it gives legitimacy to bitcoin, and maybe wallstreet will start respecting it.

Be that 2 years or 50, who knows but I`d invest some in Monero now and find out later Smiley

Ah man your language is so complicated why you talk like that?

Let me put it more concisely. You socialist pigs want a world that steals for you.

Yep, socialism is a collective of lazy thieves that like to steal from more productive others. While thieves take their own risk at stealing and being caught.

Socialists eliminate the risk of theft by using the government as their tool to get what they want.

More welfare? More subsidy? More Pensions? More child subsidy? More unemployment benefits? More free stuff?

No problem there is a taxman, that does all that job for you, and you dont have to worry of beight caught stealing.

It a very horrible upside-down world we live it, but that is where democracy leads. "The People" only want to steal from eachother.

I guess theft is a basic human instinct Cheesy

If the blokchain werent that huge, then I would try it out. Also you need to work on the graphics , it looks horrible. A 2d interface, but with a bit of shadows and 3d aspect models would look much better.

For example try rendering in 3d and then flat it out to have a better perspective camera view.

We know DUB is one of the most undervaluated coin in market.

We are testing new wallet, and works great.

    -Full-screen mode
-Streaming music from entire soundcloud catalogue
-Logging with multiple accounts on various exchanges to trade every crypto.
    -Staking and monitoring dub price

    All inside one wallet.
    It's a really good experience.

New wallet will be on-line soon.

Now I believe DUB will be the next big thing, sorry if I doubted before Shocked

Definitely baby, i`m holding strongly to mine, i hope it reaches 2000 satoshi soon!

Not sure if this could be considered a contribution, but I helped out a forum member a couple of months ago.

    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=780142.0

Your blog looks pretty good actually, was also considering starting a blog on cryptocurrency and Bitcoin.

Yes its a contribution, each by his means , every little contribution helps to keep the community together and rolling!

Yes a blog is a good idea, to promote bitcoin to non-bitcoiners. Just create a blog, create an introduction post about bitcoin so that non-bitcoiners can grasp the bitcoin technology, and link to bitcoin.org aswell. Then use adsense to promote your blog on the google network, while also putting your referral links to various bitcoin programs on your blog. So that whatever $$ or €€€ you spend on adsense advertisements, you get them back via bitcoin referrals, and this way you also bring non-bitcoiners to bitcoin.
You mean use Adwords to promote your blog? Yeah but the thing is that there are already a thousand and one blogs about bitcoin out there.
To really be competitive and actually attract new users, you'd have to find a way to present your blog in a new way so people who have never heard about bitcoin could get into it.

No, to promote your blog. Why would you promote my blog? I mean I wouldn't mind it, but it has no reason for you.

No you dont need to be extra competitive, just write neat articles to regular readers, and 1 introductory for non-bitcoiners. Then use Adwords or adsense to promote your blog. And then whatever costs the advertising costs you, you fund them with the profits you make by letting your readers sign up to various affiliate programs. It would be a commercial blog, with many many referrals links.

It doesnt even have to be high quality just write about what bitcoin want to hear about: "How to earn bitcoin?". Thats the hottest topic ever!

You can earn big bucks with that, and also attract new moneyhungry people into bitcoin Smiley
    4813  Economy / Micro Earnings / Coinurl.com moderators are very lazy on: August 08, 2015, 11:01:23 AM
Seriously guys, i`m using coinurl.com for over a year now, and it is a very decent advertising network, very cheap, and overall the ads quality match the price so you get what you are paid for. I`m not complaining about that, the ads are decent.

    https://coinurl.com

However you have to wait 2-3 weeks before your ad gets approved, once i had to wait 1 month for it to be approved. What the fuck guys, how can you run a site with such lazy support team, make your customers wait 1 month for their ad to get approved... really....?

Other advertising sites take at most 48 hours, but usually its done within 6 hours, why can't coinurl.com do the same and validate the ads faster.

Done! It was an interesting survey -- are you going to make the results public? I'd love to see what comes of it as well.

I hope more and more people start filling it, it would be really helpful for the bitcoin economy!

I`m not making it public unfortunately, but I guarantee you that I alone will generate alot of economic activity for bitcoin, and push he price up Smiley

Confirmed, thanks! Saw the payment hit and was like Huh. And then it clicked, :p.

I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

Well I use electrum and they always use change address, so the payment sum is always my balance-change, which is weird but yeah.

Well the project will be really really good, I will also earn bitcoin from the secrets that will be uncovered by the research, but the economy will get 1000x more.

So if I earn 1 BTC from it, expect atleast 1000 BTC worth of value to be added to the bitcoin economy in general Smiley

I think the bounty will make the survey less valuable because now many persons will do it that have no bitcoins at all or very few. The result probably would be very different from what bitcoiners would have to say that have many bitcoins.

Though i guess it's the only way to get enough people do the survey.

Why would they rush, they get paid only once, after they finish.

They cant cheat (creating multiple newbie account and do it again) because i only pay them once so there is no reason to do that.

In any case i`ll leave the bounty on, and if I see the quality of the responses is low, then i`ll change it.

Looks like with the 7mb block size proposal, this theory can become closer to true i`m afraid.

Already the number of nodes are down, due to the size of the blockchain, soon it will be further down due to the size of individual blocks.

Bitcoin will inevitable become centralized, but if the price would go up suddenly then we can avoid centralization Smiley
