4801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Litecoin reaches its highest price since 2019 on: December 18, 2020, 05:53:18 AM
Since the establishment of the litecoin on 2019, Litecoin just reached it's highest price $100
What do you mean by the establishment of Litecoin in 2019? Litecoin had been in existence far before 2019. In a related development, LTC had an ATH of $360.66 on Dec 18, 2017 and it's yet to repeat that feat. We are just heading to half that price now. Well, apart from Bitcoin which has just broken its own record of ATH set in 2017, the alts are yet to pick to their greatness.
4802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it right time to Buy Alt coins now? on: December 18, 2020, 04:35:38 AM

I believe that History of 2017 will be repeated soon. We will soon witness Huge rally in Alts. It should happen when BTC will stabilize around current levels and BTC dominance Index comes down to below 60%.
The history you talked about here happened a year after the Bitcoin halving of 2016. It's post halving. But here we are in the halving year in 2020. So, if we must go by your calculation it simply means this year isn't the right time to expect such altcoin rally. Wait for it in 2021. However, Dec is the right time to buy altcoins but you should wait for the impending correction that's coming. Also, you're correct about watching the Bitcoin dominance level. I look critically at that data always and I believe no altcoin rally will be possible as long as dominance of Bitcoin stays above 60%.
4803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Confused... Dec 2016 start of Bull Market or Dec 2017 end of Bull Market? on: December 17, 2020, 12:43:19 PM
Lets not forget we had the China 2013 Btc bubble in Dec too Huh
I hope the whale investors see or read that comment. It surely would scare anyone buying at this time.

However, I do sincerely agree that your observations are right OP. December is always the time investors take profit, thus the market tends to plummet at a time like that. It was in December that the Bitcoin ATH of 2017 also occurred before the crash that crippled Bitcoin set in till now. But whatever that's boosting Bitcoin at this time must be on steroid. December is a month to be skeptical investing but who knows, this could be a different December since it's a halving year with all Bitcoin awareness and mass adoption gearing up.
4804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Early signs of crime with bitcoin. on: December 17, 2020, 10:05:13 AM
When the world is gradually accepting bitcoin, the already made bitcoiners are using those little opportunity to commit various crimes with bitcoin.
A Russian was sentenced to French prison for bitcoin laundering.
Nah! Far from it. It's just giving a dog a bad name so as to hang it. The real reason behind the skepticism in accepting Bitcoin doesn't line in criminals using it for illegal stuff, nah! The reason isn't farfetched. It's because Bitcoin as a decentralized asset doesn't give the government access to controlling the finance of citizens and other fiscal policy of governance which fiat allows the government. With Bitcoin and its limited supply, it would be very difficult to regulate government's monetary policies.
4805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Fishing sites and fake wallet on: December 16, 2020, 08:33:44 PM
I just want to know that is it possible to have password in wallet just like we have in exchanges(if any popular wallet implement this then other will also do).
So that for any withdrawal we will be always asked for otp no matter if you mistakenly shared your phrase key or not
This is why it's advisable to download wallet apps only from the site at which you opened that account. Don't follow any other links. And be careful to check on the rating and reviews before downloading from playstore/apple too. This is what I always do. Concerning the OTP you mentioned, I think it's common with exchanges through 2FA. I haven't used a wallet that has it. May be there are those which have it but I haven't seen. And I haven't had any issues with the wallets I use even with just passwords. Just don't allow your passwords be compromised once you download from reputable sites. Sorry for your loss.
4806  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Btc hit $20799, what is the next move ? on: December 16, 2020, 05:45:57 PM
Not an expert trader but I think it will stay at $20k for a while my assumption will be around $25k or more next year due to some companies that are adapting Bitcoin there's really a high chance that it will reach more than $30k next year.
My thinking is that the $20k level which was Resistance for over a week will now turn Support. Just watch it, Bitcoin will surpass your $25k benchmark before the year runs out. But before then, I expect a little correction to $19k before rising like the Phoenix it is. To be honest, I never expected that Bitcoin would hit this high note this year a few months ago. I believe not many people expected it too. I was expecting around $10k — $12k level. The soaring part for me should be 2021. If Bitcoin is able to do this much this 2020, it surely means that 2021 will be off the hook for Bitcoin and the entire crypto industry. A 2017 déjà vu is cooking.
4807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nearly 12% transaction fee on the ERC-20 platform! on: December 16, 2020, 03:04:15 PM
12% of transaction fee is not a matter if you compare it with the fees people used in September. They spent 200 or 300 or 400 to 500 Gwei for their ERC20 transactions.

Ethereum Avg. Transaction fee
Ethereum Median Transaction fee

See the chart Average gas price (GWei) (last 3 months)
Sincerely, I was hoping that things would look up positively different in respect to transaction and gas fees once the ETH 2.0 version is launched. Sadly, that seems not to have changed even after the launch and this is worrisome. There are lots of projects hanging, waiting for gas fees to come down. This smart contract with ETH is what is keeping it afloat despite its high gas fees. It's crazy.

4809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trying to recover funds from bitcoin scam on: December 16, 2020, 08:14:37 AM
Here is another asshole @anderson_abade_ bitcoin scam artist. He claims his company can recover scammed funds through contacts he has on the dark web for a fee. He is a pathological liar. His whatsapp is 1 (209) 314-0311. Spread the word and spam the fuck out of this prick.
Spamming scammers won't deter them from making further attempts to scam others. The best strategy is to either completely ignore their overtures or report them to Telegram so their accounts can be sanctioned. Even at that, these scammers can open several accounts later. On a related development, I guess you finally got your Bitcoin returned to you and you didn't send further coins to that dude in your OP? Whatever you do, please stay away from cloud mining or doubling sites. They're all scam.
4810  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America is a proud Country with huge achievments on: December 16, 2020, 04:44:21 AM
We shouldn't just take this statement completely as a positive, "America is a proud Country with huge achievments" without factoring in the bad things America is known for too. All its liberal politics and ways of life are tearing down the sanctity of moralism and family values. America is not all bliss.
4811  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Nigerian Bitcointalk Community Hangout. {Current topic: #EndSARs} on: December 15, 2020, 04:01:11 PM

May be Brainboss go explain to us why im fall owa hand there. Him for just abstain from voting like Maxwell do na.
4812  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin has not been able to hit $20k price in 2020? on: December 15, 2020, 01:24:49 PM
Fear always start when history seems repeating itself.
I think it's more of the fear factor than anything else. It will linger at this level until big monies or institutional players come into the scene to buy huge. The regular conservative traders are watching that level keenly and wouldn't want to outreach themselves by buying in and that has formed resistance there. No one wants to buy at ATH. It's usually a school boy error. However, I am sure that once price crosses the 20k level, there will be a sudden rush to chase price and I see a slight price correction take place once that surge happens. To be honest, it's even a miracle that Bitcoin got to this level in 2020 amidst the pandemic.
4813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust Active telegram Groups? on: December 13, 2020, 07:30:37 PM
Yes you can trust the telegram groups. It is like joining Discord. So anyone could chat in a group. Telegram and Discord is a perfect platform to make project discussion. They have API where programmers can make BOTS to perform channel moderation.
Most times the chitchat is from bounty hunters and that means nothing effective, really. If the telegram group doesn't have members of the project team being active on it the discussions from other subscribers may all be to meet up bounty requirements. And that amounts to nothing. Hunters can't instruct teams on what to do, apart from crying for reward distribution. If team wants to exit, it will succeed in doing that even when there are over 20,000 active bounty members on their telegram group. On Discord, I have seen projects with active discord channels collapse and fold up. So, all that discord and telegram activeness don't mean anything. Don't be deceived by that.
4814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this even normal? on: December 13, 2020, 04:05:38 PM
...bounty group is closed too so anyone can't complain and yet the team said they will make distribution in the next 42 hours
Well, though their actions seem suggestive of an exit, I think 42hrs (perhaps they meant 48hrs) wait won't make anyone lose their patience. Just give them the benefit of the doubt before drawing conclusions. I read up here that the group who promoted this bounty also ran another that was shady. Hunters should be weary of any BM who runs bounties that turn to scam. Avoid them like plagues. It's better staying out of bounties than indulging one and not get the reward one laboured for. It's so disheartening but many BMs don't give a hoot about what hunters feel.

One time sef those oda guys dem sef come begin yarn opata sey one thing do one thing for another thread like dat because of that voting thing oh. Well, I believe sey Brainboss must get something out of the award.
4816  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: There is no certainty in trading on: December 13, 2020, 01:27:19 PM
It's not just in trading alone that there is no certainty. It's basically a life thing. I am cocksure none of us here knew we would be here in this forum and doing this type of business in an industry like this a decade ago. It's the same way we don't know what tomorrow holds and therefore can't pick or know any coin/token that can make a good ROI. If anyone knew that, that would make them clairvoyant and that's an edge on life itself. Not even Mark Zukerberg knew he would be this rich when he started Facebook or Bill Gates with his computer softwares. As a trader I often wish I knew where price is headed 24hrs or 12hrs before it gets there. But this is near impossible.
4817  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is the crypto market saturated? on: December 13, 2020, 06:07:17 AM
Saturated like what do you mean? if I look at the cryptocurrency ecosystem as too many junk projects, there should be an agency that regulates the creation of new cryptocurrency projects so that no scam project will emerge,
Decentralization is good, but Decentralization without a clear rule makes scammers free to deceive anyone in cryptocurrency.
I don't think it's possible getting the industry totally free from scam. That's a Utopia situation and it's not going to happen. I am a realist. Look at the Forex market for instance, despite how regulated it is there are still scam brokers in the game. I don't see regulation completely taking care of that but I admit it will drastically be reduced. And culprits will easily be nailed and brought to book when complete regulation sets in.
4818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will never replace fiat cash. on: December 12, 2020, 07:07:19 AM
For the simple reason that electricity can't go round the world (there are countries still in dare need of this), it's an impossibility for Bitcoin to replace cash. Again, what is the total supply of Bitcoin? A mere 21million (with over 18.5million already in circulation) can't satisfy a global population in billions. The idea of Bitcoin or cryptocurrency is a good one for a paradigm shift but not as a replacement.
4819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennials’ impact on the future of digital assets. on: December 12, 2020, 05:20:49 AM
A decade ago when Bitcoin debuted, young people were perceived to have taken that "reckless and needless" risk investing in Bitcoin even when they didn't fully understood what it was. Now, those who are far younger are even getting on the bandwagon to push Bitcoin patronage at a time when their parents are skeptical about the whole tech stuff around cryptocurrency. This is good.

What I like is that millenials do inspire the older generations and honestly this is how it should be.
Exactly! Who else can help talk to parents if not their beloved kids whom they hold in esteem? I can't imagine an outsider  convincing, for instance, a Warren Buffet who had been adamant on a tech like Bitcoin if not his kids (grandchildren per se)
4820  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: African Proverbs in Pidgin on: December 12, 2020, 04:25:57 AM
Sense no be by Date of birth.
meaning: Maturity is not by Age!

Cow wey no get tail, na God dey help am pursue fowl
meaning: He who have no one but God is with the majority!
That your first proverb enter wella. My people for village get another one wey still resemble that your own — my pikin tall nor be sey my pikin don grow. You go see small pikin wey get better height but nothing dey the brain to make am get better sense.

But your second proverb get k-leg some how because you miss something for the end. E supposed be, "Cow wey no get tail, na God dey help am pursue fly.
