4801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does Martingale strategy increase your chance of winning? on: September 04, 2019, 11:06:22 AM
Although in theory, you can win with the higher probability, in the end, the house will prevent you from winning all of the money, and I am sure that they will block your account. It's not because you cheat them, but you are trying to get all of that money from the game, and I guess they don't like it. The house will not allow gamblers to win the biggest money for a long time of playing gambling because they to get all the money from the gamblers. So no matter how good your method, strategy, or you named it, it will end by losing the money except for people who have luck in the gambling games.
Martingale strategy does not increase your chance even in theory. I made in a simple calculation about probability of winning on the first post. It proves that martingale strategy not only doesn't increase  your chance of luck, but also it decrease your chance. I made calculations theoretically. So, even if the house edge is not considered, using martingale strategy the chance of winning decreases.

So long as there is no upper limit on bet size, and you have unlimited balance, then you should eventually win using the martingale method.
Even if you have all 21,000,000 million bitcoins in your balance it is mathematically proved that martingale strategy decreases your chance. The more you reduce the initial bet and increase your balance, the more you have to repeat the game to win a certain amount. Your chance of winning one game is increased, but your chance of winning the games for n times decreases.
4804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Congress Urged to Regulate Crypto Sector Under Bank Secrecy Act on: September 03, 2019, 08:26:03 AM
Unlike before, many people in the world of cryptocurrency are already open to regulations with the intention to make the field fairer, open and to weed out bad players. The problem is seems is that the government is not that keen to get into regulating this industry in exchange for recognition and to establish the clear policy and direction on the side of the government and the industry itself. Well, this industry is still young so maybe as years go on things can be changing for the better.
So, you are in favor of regulations. Don't you think that governments intend to enact laws contrary to the nature of Bitcoin? Do you really think it will make the cryptocurrencies world safer? So, why is fiat still used for illegal activities?
And I don't think people are open to regulations. I have read many posts here in bitcointalk that the community opposes regulations as they want decentralized cryptocurrencies.

I know Martingale strategy has already discussed as it's not something new. I just made a calculation of the chance when you use Martingale strategy and I shared it. I don't think such a calculation has been done before. Also, I didn't say it's profitable. I did the calculations to prove it's not profitable.

Just got Switch (ESH) token. Same amount as I have Ethershift (ESH).

Do I understand it right - now I have nothing to do with Ethershift (ESH), and could hold/sell/buy only Switch (ESH) ?
No action is needed. Thanks to the team everything was done automatically. Only the contract has changed. Every thing including monthly airdrops remains unchanged.
I have seen some projects that ask holders to send their tokens to a certain address for tokens swap. But here every thing was done by the team.
4807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] ICON - Interchain Blockchain Network / Hyperconnect the World! on: September 02, 2019, 10:44:02 PM
At least price is stable in usd last time. And they still have huge 100 mln cap. What do you want in this bear market? In next bullrun it should be grow a lot as like as on previous bullrun.
You are right about ICON. At the time of posting ICON is ranked 53th based on total marketcap and 46th based on trade volume. The market capitalization is now 105 million dollar. Given the bear market and the drops that all of the altcoins have experienced in the past months, should be really optimistic about future of ICON.
ICON can one of few altcoins that can survive in the long term.
4808  Economy / Gambling discussion / Does Martingale strategy increase your chance of winning? on: September 02, 2019, 07:59:37 PM
Martingale is a popular method some gamblers use to increase their chance in dice games.
First I describe this method for those that are not familiar with this method.
In this method, players increase the amount of the next bet when they lose. They increase the amount of bet to cover all the previous losses. This increasing continues until they finally win. They believe that it's impossible to loss all the bets and they will finally win a bet.
Here I want to calculate the chance of winning when players use this method.

Let's assume that a player has 1 bitcoin and starts with 1 Satoshi. I guess I have considered the bet increment as small as needed.
I also assume that the bet odd is 2 and win chance is 49%.

So, If I bet to double my bitcoins my chance is 49%.
But I will use Martingale strategy to increase my chance. I bet 1 Satoshi, If I lose I double the amount of the bet. Whenever I win, the amount of my next bet is 1 Satoshi.
The amount of bets are:
1, 2, 4, 8, ...........

My 26th bet will be 33,554,432 Satoshis. If I lose this bet I cannot double my bet. Because I have already lost 67,108,863 Satoshis and my balance is only 32,891,137 Satoshis,
But no problem. I can try my luck 26 times. It's impossible to lose 26 times in a game with 49% chance of win.
The chance of losing 26 times is
[(0.51)^26] = 0.0000000249

So The chance of winning at least one of the 26 bets is
[1-0.0000000249] = 0.9999999751
It's great. It's impossible to lose. I will always win. I will become rich soon.

I will repeat this 100,000,000 times to double my bitcoin. I will have 2 bitcoins soon.

Every time I use this method, my chance is 0.9999999751 and my chance of winning for 100,000,000 times is

[(0.9999999751)^100000000] = 0.0829

Did you see what happened?

Martingale strategy decreases your chance. Avoid it.
4809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Old Bounties VS New Bounties on: August 18, 2019, 09:14:52 AM
All is true except number 4 in old bounties and number 5 in new bounties. Old bounties was much profitable. They were able to raise much more money. So the shares of bounty participants was bigger.
Current bounties some time claim big rewards. But as they don't raise big money, they decrease the share of bounty participants. Even if people get their rewards as was promised, their real value is likely much lower after hitting exchanges.
4810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I Sold 2BTC at $3,000 and BTC Bumped to $10,000 on: August 18, 2019, 08:49:32 AM
There is a same story for most of the people involved in cryptocurrencies. Some people need money and have to sell their bitcoins and some people panic sell. You have sold your bitcoins at 3000 dollar. There are many people who have sold their bitcoin at 1000 dollar, 200 dollar, 100 dollar and even 1 dollar. People do not now what will be the price tomorrow. Do not blame yourself and try to earn some bitcoin.

Has this project been dead?
yes, this project is dead, there is no daily trading volume, even I don't see CAT tokens on the TIDEX exchange, I think CAT tokens have been delisted from the TIDEX exchange

Bibox and Kucoin had delisted Bitclave before. And now I hear about Tidex from you. What is going on is really awful. The trade volume is exactly zero.
4812  Economy / Speculation / Re: What makes Bitcoin price fluatuates throughout 2019 on: August 16, 2019, 10:15:15 PM
The reason of price fluctuations is much more simple than what you think.
The price is affected by whales and news. Whales usually act in same direction with news and some times, they surprise the people.
I don't know which Ponzi projects you are talking about. There are always some Ponzi projects. But their volume is not that much to affect bitcoin price.
4813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New Zealand Gives Greenlight for Cryptocurrency Income and Salary Payments on: August 16, 2019, 09:59:54 PM
For those users who talk about cryptocurrencies volatility, there are two solutions.
1. Pay people with stablecoins.
2. Pay people with bitcoin or other volatile cryptocurrencies at a certain rate according to the market when salaries are being paid.

If they want use option 2, people should accept the risk or be paid by fiat.
I don't think there is a problem. It's like that you receive your salary with fiat and then you buy bitcoin. No one force you to risk.

The Telegram link which is shown on the first post of the thread does not work. It says "There is no Telegram account with the username you provided" I also tried to find the link on the website. But I couldn't find it. Is there any other link to Telegram group or it has become inactive?

You will receive share from dividends in ETH at the end of each month for holding ESH tokens. They just rebranded their exchange to have more attractive and suitable name to represent the business more briefly. That is airdrop for ESH holders is being released each month separately. It is enough to have ESH to qualify for profit sharing.
Yes, I do get this dividend every month in my ERC enabled wallet but with zero value. I am wondering if there will be automatic switch over to the newly branded coin. Also, why is the chat group not opening?

The trade volume on the exchange is really low and that's why our shares from fees have very very low value. Much fees are not collected on the exchange and receiving very low amounts of ETH is normal.

Are they doing something at all? I dont see in twitter nothing about they new "Google"... But I see some adversiting site: limitlessreward. What is this?
If they are doing something, just think it's not enough to make the project recover.

I also hold this token and it's part of my portfolio that I can check form time to time and I fully based on its price and this is in located below in my list.
When the volume is bad that means the project are not doing well, I think for this one there's no liquidity anymore as there is no volume shown in the https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitclave/#markets, we can't do anything but hold and hope soon it will have life to recover again.

We really don't know what is going on. We don't know whether the project is alive or not. Every weeks, an admin just appear on Telegram group, say they are working on the project and then they disappear again.
4817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] PBET – Physical Casino's Players Can Now Play Anywhere, Anytime!! on: August 15, 2019, 06:32:34 PM
I've searched at Google and Twitter about your for some time. Not too much info about you. Why is that? You have your activities only here at BCT?

PBET is still on crowdsale phase. You shouldn't expect to see many pages when you google it. It's normal. Other ICOs and IEOs are same as PBET when you google them.
4818  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Could Surpass $15,000 This Week: Max Keiser on: August 11, 2019, 01:17:04 PM
There is the mystery word. "COULD".

Another bullish prediction but in the end, it didn't even went to $13,000. I have enough of this bullish predictions already. I'll just wait for the movement of Bitcoin and will accumulate more base on how I read charts. This is another news hype for Bitcoin but unfortunately, it didn't happened. I think the investors matured a bit regarding news hypes.

You are right. There are always many people that called themselves expert people but they only make some guesses about bitcoin's price. I personally don't pay attention to such people and their predictions.
4819  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you agree with this crypto expert's bitcoin price prediction? on: August 11, 2019, 01:13:27 PM
This price is not reachable but it's really difficult to predict the price of bitcoin in 2023 even for a expert person. Bitcoin price is so volatile and there are many factors should be considered. Many unforeseen things might happen.
4820  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Breaks $12,000 Before Plunging, Crypto Markets Turn Downward on: August 11, 2019, 01:09:15 PM
I will not worry about some dip if I were you, This is pretty normal for bitcoin because of volatility the breakthrough in every dip of bitcoin is pretty much OK in my opinion, I guess we just need to be ready for the ride for the price to make another all-time high the last time was $ 20,000 USD and now we can breach even $30,000 USD or even $40,000 USD even,

And this breakthrough is unstoppable even if some manipulation of whales and negative news it will still go beyond our expectation in my opinion, I guess the year 2023 can be very bright in the increasing value of bitcoin, It can be better for long trades and night traders to just chill for now.

Agree with you. I also think that bitcoin is going to reach a new all time high. The last time bitcoin reached 20,000 dollar, the market was not green every day. The price should rise and fall several times before it reaches a new all time high.
