can someone help me understand the exchanges?

i see listed there a huge amount of bbp for sale at a price. does that mean whoever listed that is first in line to sell it? if so that is rather unfair as it provides no liquidity for other people. is that just the way it is in crypto? new to this scene.

if its the case that the big time miners will flood the exchanges with coins, then how is this supposed to function as a currency? if we cant convert the bbp into something spendable (ie food, rent, etc) then what?

again i am new to crytpoeconomics. if someone can suggest some strategies or expectations id appreciate it. id like to set realistic expectations and goals.
One problem with crypto is there is a limited inflow of Fiat into the market per day, so some functions, like cashing out, you have to give yourself a few months instead of days.

We also have the issue where our market depth is very thin since we are only on one exchange.  After we sign on one of the bigger exchanges like bittrex the depth should increase to 5 BTC+ per day (in contrast to .25).

One thing to keep in mind though is there is a certain amount of ghost liquidity.  People who are not showing their hand.  They will buy when the market is crashing and sell when its increasing.  One example is one certain coin jumped about 800% in one day, when the buyer bought every coin in the order book.  Within 8 hours, 100 users made deposits and set sells in between the high of the day and the midpoint.  Those were hidden orders that became liquid 12 hours later.  The same thing happens when someone sells at market.  I guarantee a few Biblepayers will jump on and buy 2-3btc worth if someone sells us down to 7satoshi for example.

I just created a Very Important Poll for BiblePay.

We need everyone here that cares about BiblePay to vote on this topic by December 3rd!

That is a News story about the store at the mining pool accepting biblecoins BBP to pay for stuff,
but can you pay me some BBP to post at the blog at https://biblepay.wordpress.com,
and do you have a little picture I can put with the post?

what about using the pic of the bible cover I see at the mining pool
at the store link/page?

And how much will you pay me to post it at the blog?

If there is any other story you want me to post about at the blog,
let me know, and I will do what I can to post it for you.

I can also tweet the post at twitter and pin it for a while,
but do not have much for retweets at the moment,
so will you pay for some people to retweet when I post something for you
at the blog?

I am averaging just over 100+ BBP per day by mining,
and I am glad to have found a coin I can mine with my cpu, but I want more coins than that

MORE COIN
MORE COIN
MORE COIN

as you see, I need/want MORE COIN Smiley

Until the Sanctuaries are up and running, you will only be donated to.  At that point, 5% of the take will go to IT and PR, of which your project could qualify.  Personally, I appreciate your enthusiasm for the project but it would be nice if you brought something new to the table.  Retweets and copies of reddit articles on a blog are what I would hope a socially active fan of the coin would be doing occasionally.  Don't take this as criticism, just you may be setting your expectations to be rewarded a bit high.

.
.
.
I can write original posts, for example, instead of posting here, I could instead write a post at the blog, but the blog isn't getting that much traffic atm, but it is likely a high percentage of crypto assocaited or believers associated who are looking at the blog, which is a target market for biblepay coin I think.

If biblepay wants to spin-off a blog at the main website at biblepay.org then I have the exact fit for that site, with the name of the blog being an exact fit for the website.
I will sell the blog to you for 100k biblepay BBP at this time, otherwise I will look to be paid to post,
that price might increase as the value of biblepay BBP coin increases.

As West pointed out none of us have any "free" money to give you (there was no pre-mine and no ICO).

So yes I agree in the Christian sense, give to those who ask, and we have been doing that (I sent something) and also provide the faucet which someone has gluttoned over 150,000 bbp from LOL, so just realize we are all in this together and all start with zero.

Check out Samaritan Christian Health Share:

https://samaritanministries.org/

I was doing a little research on MediShare (a Christian health care alternative).  Both of these orgs are 503c's requiring a statement of faith (being Christian), and MediShare has over a million members and Samaritan 600,000 members.  The negative reviews I read about MediShare in general was that many are claiming the bills are not being approved and are stacking up for months.  However with Samaritan, your monthly premium check gets written directly by you to another member, which is a really neat feature.  Obviously things are getting paid as quickly as possible, since your check is going directly from point A to B.

These products are not considered health care, but do qualify you as exempt under the healthcare act.

Im wondering if we can partner with Samaritan or if anyone has any ideas.

Great News!

Biblepay can now be used to buy a product.

Check out the Biblepay Store in the pool.
http://pool.biblepay.org

Note that orders currently only ship to US residents and you must edit your account settings in order to place a successful order.

Please let me know if anyone has trouble with the feature.

One of the upcoming projects is to allow our wallet users to buy products directly from the wallet RPC console.

am i understanding this correctly. $770 to run a sanctuary and $7700 to run a masternode?

is that money paid to the charity fund?

what are the benefits to an investor to do this?

Don't take my word as Gospel, but I don't think we "pay" this amount to run the sanctuary (which actually is a masternode), we just have to own that much to run the sanctuary. The coins will be "locked-in" so to speak. If you shut down your sanctuary you get your coins back.
At least that is my understanding.

The advantage is that you recieve some block reward for running a sanctuary.

Correct, you tie up about 1.1 million biblepay in an escrow address and create a sanctuary keypair, and at that point you have the privilege to run a sanctuary, which gives you voting rights for the budget, and awards you approx 1.1 million biblepay in subsidies over approx. 12-24 months (The ROI is dependent on how many sanctuaries are competing with you).  The escrow is used to provide the instant send service (IE sending coins without confirms) and also for retirement account trading.

Since the pool now requires registration...did i lose all my previously mined coins?
No, everything is safe, the only break in attempt Ive had is the person gluttoning the faucet.

If you want me to check your balance or something just email me at rob@biblepay.org.

The pool always required registration- its not possible to mine against it without a worker.

On the topic of bounties, I was thinking of something a little more true to the cause and salient than posting on twitter, etc.
What if there was a bounty for completing a Bible study / answering questions? I understand there are non-Christians involved in this project and thats is fantastic, but ultimately, I would also like to see those individuals come to Christ; at least open the Word and explore the truth and depth. If this is too pushy, I get it, I just know bounty campaigns are a big deal for attracting new users and it would be cool if we did something "more" than post a banner or spam BBP to random people.

Just thinking outloud -

Good idea.  Although this is more of a common sense idea, its still one of one of the best that makes or breaks us.  I know we have letter writing and somehow we are keeping it together with pool bounties, but we really should consider how we can make Biblepay University more of a reality, more professional more permanent.  Maybe part of the theme with Biblepay is you recognize where you are in your walk of faith, and we offer avenues to put you back on track, all completely optional.  But we need to pay the community members in BBP who volunteer to help others in the walk.  I would not mind getting paid answering theological questions (I have on some of the NDE youtube videos, with people who are either atheist or argue that Jesus is not Lord) etc.  Maybe a Theological FAQ system, where BBP users create a FAQ, and others answer the FAQ.  Or a live chat room where we pay a 'BBP Priest' by the hour to answer questions every day.

I was thinking of ways to make us a team player in the great tribulation, after reading that reddit post where someone asked us if we were the mark of the beast.

I was thinking, how can we create an outline of features that would provide value during the great tribulation, instead of rolling over and dying.

So far here is what came to mind:

- Reverse implosion database, full of phone numbers, addresses, contacts and background info on Christian members
- Biblepay Emergency mode, where each step of the ledger is either manually committed, or synced via an alternative network other than cat5/wifi
- Silver coins, survival food for sale for biblepay, from the pool (and hopefully in wallet eventually)
- Some groundbreaking feature that gives intrinsic value to a coin when the blockchain stops (this is if the internet completely goes down including wifi), or, an alternative idea that keeps the chain rolling
- A simpler protocol, one that can be executed by hand (probably not realistic)

A long time ago, while working for a blood delivery company, we had an emergency mode that we entered if the power and LAN went out.  We would take orders from hospitals, write them down manually, and if possibly print all the blood drivers routes out manually, and continue operations by moving papers around like it was in the 60s.  I was thinking, if we are fortunate enough in the great trib to move anything around, we could use this as one idea.

In the most basic sense, it would be valuable to have maps of where the Christians are (IE US), and band together and share our food and water, and help each other.  So of course with the block chain being private by default, most everyone will not want to share all this personal info by default.  But one option is maybe we build in an implosion database.  We could make it encrypt 'contact records' entered into the UI with a key on the client side that corresponds to an unlock key that is broadcast back to unlock all the data but only if the chain does not advance for 7 days straight.  Then, each users copy is fully readable (ie the whole record database).

probably shouldnt be discussing all the plans publically lest counter measure be developed before hand right ? Smiley

Its better to discuss it now, so as to stake a claim in the idea and we can always say we thought of it first.  Im not worried about people stealing our ideas at this point in my life, I think we can do more good by working as hard as possible in creating a solid community and novel service and the world is big enough for any amount of new ideas.  I think not talking about it hampers progress.  When God produces apples on an apple tree he doesnt make the tree bear just enough to feed one person, he rains apples down.

The other reason is we can groupthink and it gives us a taste of what is valuable and not valuable.  I can tell within 20 comments or so when an idea is really useless.  We will end up with about 5 GREAT ideas, that the competition wont have a clue to implement them.  With the help of a few good devs, I think we will be successful on a couple.  Yes, there will be setbacks, (IE we merge one it and it is an utter failure), as its not easy to make something stick permanently in the blockchain.  We just have to be smart enough to roll back the Losers and get back up and keep adding until we have the secret sauce.

heu dev, any airdrop or bounty campaign?
So far we have a faucet at accountability.biblepay.org.

I would definitely like to be part of an airdrop after Christmas, maybe we create a campaign to launch 1 million new BBP wallets with 100 BBP in each.
We could try to expense it in the budget.

Ive given away 150,000 bbp already and unfortunately someone started stealing from the faucet so I had to lock it down and drop the reward to 10 bbp.
(Now it requires a distinct address, IP and math problem).

Does anyone know how expensive it is to get listed on coinexchange.io? This is a much higher volume exchange and masternode coins are popular. Also, a free trollbox to advertise.

I just opened an account and opened a ticket to see if they will list us, thanks for the idea.

So if I wanted to get to the 1.1m mark by Christmas I would need more machines to do this.
Has anyone mined BBP on the cloud?
Where is this possible?

Or is it cheaper to just make an account and buy on CCEX?

Thanks

Check out the testnet thread
http://forum.biblepay.org/index.php?topic=16.new#new

The $10 monthly Vultr VPS should work fine and let you transition from mining to mining + sanctuary.

Thanks Rob, do you know roughly the HPS for 1 of those machines?

It looks like right now, Im getting 20k HPS on the $10 per month linux box, 35k HPS on the $40 per month linux box, and about 20k hps on the $60 per month windows box (but its the pool, and I only run it at 2k hps LOL to keep it free).  Im running debian jessie 64 on the two linux boxes.

In f8000, you should see more like 20,35,35 across the boxes, except the hps will be lower (we are just about to test that in testnet next).

is there an offline / javascript wallet address generator anywhere?
I cant find one, but you can type getnewaddress in the RPC.

If anyone wants to port the electrum wallet from Dash into Biblepay, and wants to be a full time dev, come on in the water is warm now.
If your original code makes it to prod, and is high quality, you can be on payroll after Christmas.

I am wondering, is it wrong to call the chosen God Node a God Node?  Should it be a Master sanctuary?  Any better terms?  If its not blasphemous, we could call it a God Node

yes of course its blasphemous!

3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

Im pretty sure this qualifies as 'in vain' dont you?

do not call it that. its offensive to a believer and to God
Its not called a God Node, its called a Temple.

Good Morning All,

My main rig is no longer syncing with the network. I deleted all banned nodes, backed up, and reinstalled and Im still stuck syncing. I show about 10 peer connections but its not moving. What would be the next problem solving step?

Thanks!

Very strange, try deleting blocks-chainstate folders also, delete peers.dat again, banlist.dat again, restart.

On the side try this:
telnet node.biblepay.org 40000

(Screen should clear).

how can i update testnet wallet from 148 to 149? on main webpage exists still only 148 wallet :
still dont understand Robert why you cant do on wallet button write wallet release number? so its question few seconds do it  Huh
Once you upgrade the wallet you can type 'exec getversion' and it shows "wallet_fullversion": "1.0.4.9".  Thats how you know you upgraded.

You have to update TESTNET from source, as we are testing sanctuaries.  Sanctuaries dont run on windows.

Your last sentence is unintelligible - I have no idea what you mean by release number.  In the future to save our time here, try to take the steps to find the field name you refer to in a chained sentence with pipe delimited columns, then paste it here.  We have hundreds of places across 3 products with release numbers.

PS Github does have the release number on the commit.  It says 1.0.4.9 - Non-Mandatory (TESTNET).
