4821  Economy / Games and rounds / 100 BTC trust roulette on: July 14, 2012, 03:13:50 AM
Here are the rules.  I will pass 100 BTC on to someone I trust.  They will pass it on to someone they trust.  If the person you pass it on to runs with the BTC then you owe me the BTC!  If you get the BTC and you cannot think of anyone you would trust with it then just give it back to me.

My address is 1BurtWEejbnKeBRsvcydJvsNztB1bXV5iQ

Simple?  Who want the 100 BTC first?

Remember.  If you pass it on to someone you must totally trust them because if they "lose it in a hack" you personally owe the money back to me.

EDIT:  Two new rules!

You must either pass it on or give it back within 24 hours of getting it.

I want it back after 100 handoffs at most.

The path so far:

4822  Economy / Lending / Re: [mc_lovin] Loan Thread, 10% interest monthly. on: July 13, 2012, 10:40:44 PM
I am going to initiate a loan again from BurtW.  I am requesting 60 BTC to be paid back sooner than 60 days, most likely 20 days but giving myself breathing room.

Interest is 10% per month, so I calculated 10% divided by 30.5 days is 0.3279% so this would be like 0.19672 BTC being added on every day (non-compounding), if I wait until the 60th day it would be like 71.8 BTC payback.

We're going to use the same addresses again, mine is 1EqBjW9AbomPTKwebk3hAzbubkD8gwaop9 and BurtW's is 12r53FtWEST7iFmV6sHedV6DfH7pPg7SEJ.
Coins sent, loan is active.
4823  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] DEEPBIT Mining Variance Insurance available now. on: July 13, 2012, 08:12:55 PM
We're exactly mid way through at the moment, with 5 payments out of 10 done. Unless any other customers want the original payment scheme, I'll make two more payments, each for 2.5 of the usual payment.

In the meantime I'll contact GLBSE support to see what can be done about voting and the contract.
If it is easier do one more on the current schedule then move to the every other schedule, so three more.  Then from then on just do every other one.  Might make the math easier.
4824  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] DEEPBIT Mining Variance Insurance available now. on: July 13, 2012, 06:48:46 AM
I would say doubling the current period (or maybe 4x the current period) would be just fine.  Your current payout comes way faster than my mining payouts.
4825  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] DEEPBIT Mining Variance Insurance available now. on: July 13, 2012, 05:54:29 AM
You should be able to edit your OP and add a poll but better yet you might put it up as a vote on the asset itself on GLBSE.  At any rate I would vote for the longer payout period since it is a lot of book keeping with the current frequency.
4826  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] SHORTING BITBOND paying 50% MORE DIVIDENT on: July 13, 2012, 05:26:48 AM
I lent both GIGAMINING and YABMC shares to ciuciu, he performed on our contract perfectly and returned the shares to me a few days ago.

Would lend again.  Anytime.  It was a pleasure doing business with him.

PS:  I have lost money on those darn YABMC shares, darn it all.  But the extra dividends helped ease the pain.  Thanks!
4827  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Help with collections on: July 13, 2012, 04:54:29 AM
Actually, I am literally in bed with an attorney.  The problem is the amount of money involved.  Even my own personal beautiful, smart, free attorney will not take these small cases - it is not worth her time.
4828  Economy / Lending / Re: Looking for a large-ish loan. on: July 11, 2012, 07:33:04 AM
Strange.  It looks like his account did possibly get hacked.  If so why has he not been back to reclaim the account?
4829  Economy / Lending / Re: [FOUND] Loan Request, 10% interest on 50 BTC paid back in 60 days. on: July 10, 2012, 07:50:43 PM
Repaid early.  Great customer, would lend again.

4831  Economy / Securities / Re: [FEEDBACK REQUSTED] Gigamining -> Teramining Upgrade Paths on: July 08, 2012, 05:38:10 AM
I have not talked to all of them yet but a vast majority of my buddies who bought GIGAMINING (a very large block of shares) all expect to take the 0.25 upgrade offer given a reasonable price for BTC at that time.
4832  Economy / Lending / Re: [Filled] Seeking 225 btc @ 10% for 30 days on: July 08, 2012, 04:53:21 AM
Repaid 109.8.  Sorry, I made a mistake when transferring from another location and didn't account for 0.2btc.  I will get that straightened out and have it to you soon.
Paid in full, on time, great customer, would lend again.
4833  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 500-1000 BTC Loan on: July 05, 2012, 04:28:44 PM
You go ahead and do that then buddy.

Most lenders do it to make money or because they like helping others out of financial situations.
Yes, I do.
4834  Economy / Lending / Re: Requesting 500-1000 BTC Loan on: July 05, 2012, 04:25:11 PM
I am very interested but I am not sure exactly what you personally bring to the table.

From what I gather these mining rig things are just pretty much "plug and mine".  So I lend you the BTC, you deposit them at BFL, then someday in the distant future you get a rig and plug it in.

However, it seems I can just take a few thousand of my BTC, deposit them with BFL, wait, and then when they arrive I can plug them in.

Do you have any special skills at plugging things in that I do not?

Oh, but can you do us a favor and leave out all the other unnecessary words, we don't make any BTC on those.  Just stick with something like this:

ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi,

Hey!  I got another payout from the last few posts.  Thanks!  Keep it up until your fingers get tired.
4837  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Home on: July 03, 2012, 03:47:40 PM
I have figured it out!  I know how he does it!  Pirate has somehow figured out a way to make BTC every time someone types the word "ponzi".  Here, let me make some more BTC for myself and everyone who has money on deposit.  Sorry, all you here in this thread that don't have BTC on deposit won't get any:

ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi, ponzi,
4838  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Home on: July 03, 2012, 01:46:00 PM
It's a shame really, that so many people are financially and economically illiterate to fall for scams like a ponzi scheme and it's especially a shame that with already much negative press that Bitcoin is getting from various fallacies being used as valid arguments in article to articles with reports on thefts and hacks, Bitcoin users and suporters neither appear to be able to escape being labeled idiots who fall for a ponzi when this all blows up and people lose a ton of money.

But I guess that's just the way it has to be; "A fool and his money is soon parted."

Yeah, the only reason we'd ever do something that you wouldn't is that we're financially illiterate.

Not all, just those who unknowingly "invest" in a ponzi scheme.
If you want to discuss ponzi schemes why don't you go and start your own thread.  Maybe call it "My thoughts on Ponzi schemes" or something catchy like that.  I don't understand why you are trying to discuss that here in this thread.  This thread is about BS&T it is not about ponzi schemes.
4839  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Home on: July 02, 2012, 11:25:34 PM
pirate, just had an idea, why don't you start an account, where, people can send any amount of money to, as donations basically, it becomes part of the pool. Let that be a non-stop recurring interest account.

You could contribute that as added goodwill to the whole episode at another level altogether.

The forum could have a poll every year, for contributing that money for voted purposes on the forum. Could be anything, but mostly charity oriented.

cheers

do not know if I am talking too much, or you must already have something like that going on.
There is a very large charity oriented Bitcoin thread:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=52543.0;topicseen

All Pirate customers are welcome to contribute.  And, as you said, a separate charity pool could be formed either based on or in conjunction with the Bitcoin 100.

Looks like it wouldn't build for ya on OS X Lion, sorry about that.
Please try the following and let me know what happens:

First: no apology necessary.
Second: WOOHOO!!!

I am in the Mkeys/s now!

One more question:  is it possible to save the current state?  The reason I ask is I can only really run this at night so having it being able to pick up where it left off would be very helpful.
There is no need to save the state.  It is a random process started at a random staring point.  So if you restart it again at a random starting point then you have not "lost" anything.
