4822  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Congress will not regulate Bitcoin, Bitcoin will regulate Congress on: March 17, 2014, 03:50:11 PM
I'm not interested in your central authority, although I appreciate the effort, OP.

Governments are done, and so is their monopoly-money.

Please explain what comes next after government.
Liberty and justice for all.

Do you have one example from the entire history of the entire world of a country or region or territory, where there was no central authority ? Does not have to be like government as we understand it today, but there has always been a group of men with weapons that was in charge everywhere.

I figure that if there is a viable alternative to central authority, that by now it would have succeeded somewhere, it has not.

You guys are like we got a new medicine, it will cure the disease, its great, its fantastic it will bring health, ok, has it ever been tried yet ? uhm no, well how you know it works then ? well uhmm, it works im sure it works its fantastic, yeah fantastic indeed.

Human history shows WHY a central authority is a horrible horrible thing.

Soldiers suddenly show up and start shooting their own people just like that, for no apparent reason or explanation, and without any previous sign of impending crisis? Coup d'etat? Well... I would be really mad and look for a way to resist. And I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be alone out there on the streets.

There was an amendment designed to allow people to protect themselves in this situation.  There is a war against that amendment currently... on a side note Hitler had a massive celebration in the late 1930's about how Germany was the first nation to be gun free..  I think we remeber how that turned out.. :S...  ne ways lol.

That "in a major city situation" = you're dead... I can't see how you would ever make it out :S.

I guess I would either get shot or forced into a FEMA camp and worked until I die.. Err huh I mean FEMA camps don't exist that's silly..

The S1 Ant miner from Bitmaintech seems like it earns a good profit..?
4827  Economy / Speculation / Re: how much do you really think this will go up in value? on: March 17, 2014, 03:30:45 PM
IMO Bitcoins becomes the gold of cryptos, something like peercoin or doge will become the actual spending currency.

I'd say aroud $500-600k, the same value of gold.  If you took gold and divided it into 21 million parts the value is around $550,000.00
4828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin & PoW destroys nature on: March 17, 2014, 03:22:56 PM
This could have been (yet another) thread to discuss PoW benefits and drawbacks. However OP made sure this wouldn't be the case.

"Electricity consumption is estimated based on power consumption of 650 Watts per gigahash" *

 Roll Eyes

/thread

* for the newbies: that's 3 orders of magnitude larger than the present rates

650W a gig/hash..

All of my WTF's

4836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop doing Air Drops of alt coins .... We've got Bitcoin on: March 14, 2014, 05:41:29 PM
IMFcoin is way ahead of you Bitcoin guys, I agree that Bitcoin didn't have a perfect start, but IMFcoin is a new innovative coin that causes the nation to do what it wants.

it does this though its innovative "Proof of Scam" system  (there were a few clone of IMF coin on here actually.)

in no time the people of Kiev will be feeling the warm benefits of IMFcoin.

Soon the city will be blossoming with productivity! IMFcoin already has ATMs in place and there are new ATMs being set up all the time that exclusively only take IMFcoin.

furthermore there is no evidence that the people of Ukraine support Bitcoin in any way??

where as they overthrew the government to support IMFcoin, so I'd really doubt that Bitcoin has a look in here.

but good luck !

: D

IMFcoin? Never heard of it and can't find a thread, website, or anything.

Pretty sure he is making fun of the international monetary fund.
4837  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as store of value on: March 14, 2014, 02:08:47 PM
I have thought that btc will eventually be used mainly as a store of value and for large purchases in the future. I think LTC could eventually be used for day to day purchases because of the faster confirmation times, and larger quantity available. I could be way wrong though.

maybe an inflationary cryptocurrency with a lot of units would be ideal "transaction money"?
I really dont know...

This is what I think, IMO doge or peercoin will be come the spending currency and Bit and Lite will become gold and silver.
4838  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Considering buying a bitcoin miner on: March 14, 2014, 01:06:18 PM
When setting it up VIA wifi, I just have to type the IP of the ant miner in my browers to connect?  Or do I have to do it like a router and connect via hardwire?
4839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prepare for March 16 Dip on: March 14, 2014, 12:47:47 PM
Fine OP, I'll have some cash waiting to buy on the 16th.
