4821  Economy / Reputation / Re: [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source on: March 28, 2021, 09:32:10 AM
Once again I am asking for help to rank up another quality member. This time its @Trofo, one of the most active members of Croatian board and household name of the Gambling board. The fact that he is part of the ChipMixer says all that you have to know about his post quality, and imho only because he is mainly  active in boards that usually don't yield so much merit is making his road to Legendary rank a little bit longer than it should so hopefully with your help we could speed up that process.

User: Trofo

Merit: 949

To be honest, this looks like yet another useless shitcoin trying to profit from Elon Musk name and his current popularity among crypto enthusiast. To make it even more bs, you added a pinch of Covid 19 stuff and all that mumbo jumbo about artificial intelligence and robotics.

That's just my opinion though, based on seeing numerous similar useless projects whose only goal was to make creators make some money and this will probably end the same way.
4823  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Vodič za pravilno korištenje Trust sustava on: March 28, 2021, 08:41:53 AM
4824  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Bitcoinarbitrage.net - Ponzi scheme on: March 28, 2021, 08:19:53 AM

It is a newbie account posting their first thread and it is a ponzi. Obviously this is a throwaway account and the number of noobs posting in the thread there too. These guys need to improve their promotional methods, they get caught too easily. Grin
If Google translate is correct, name of the section where @didrazorko posted his announcement thread is "hyip" so of course you will get caught instantly. Cheesy I guess that section is equivalent of "Investor-based games" where similar scams are found but just with a more direct name than that euphemism used in English part of the forum.

One thing that surprises me though is that trust feedback is not visible there which is kinda strange due fact that almost every thread made there is some kind of scam. Or maybe exactly because of that trust is not visible, but still, imho it should be.

By the way, flag support!

4825  Other / Meta / Re: Why do people beg on this forum? on: March 28, 2021, 07:56:47 AM
This is not a surprise when you realize that 99% (my guesstimate) of the new member's goal is to leech of this forum, either via signature or bounty campaign. They see bitcointalk only through $$ prism so no wonder than you will have bunch of alt accounts begging for money. Doesn't cost them anything to ask after all.

Bitcointalk is simply perceived as a forum where people come to make money, so these things are bound to happen.

4826  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] MMAON Token Scam to All User on: March 26, 2021, 10:20:43 PM
we'll wait for the developer of MMAON Token and let's see how he counter this.
As far as I know MMAON doesn't have an account or announcement thread here so I really doubt that anyone from the team will bother to reply this.

OP made a mistake by sending those "bugs" that he found without really being asked to do that. For that all he got is a vague promise of reward if bug is real. I mean it's one thing to look report on bug if there is some official bug bounty on the website and the other to do it the way OP did. I hope that he learned the lesson so he doesn't waste his time in the future.
4827  Other / Meta / Re: Merit Source Application - dkbit98 <-- theymos on: March 26, 2021, 06:29:56 PM
graphs provide the fact that there is a low merit number, but post quality could be seen from the members reputation on the forum, not just current merit numbers, seems that there is a number of quality posters on local board, and with just one merit source, it is tough job to connect quality and merit numbers
As a matter of fact, we have two merit sources active in our board, but problem is that their monthly allocation is quite small compared to other merit sources. Some of them  get few dozens of merit per month, while some get several hundreds so even if local board has few merit sources it can still be under merited, like in our case.

Unfortunately for us (and some other local boards that are in similar situation) theymos is obviously satisfied with the current merit numbers so all we can do now is wait, keep writing good posts and hope for the best.

4828  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] MMAON Token Scam to All User on: March 26, 2021, 05:53:13 PM
From what I can see on that screenshot, he said that they will give a reward if that bug was real, and I guess they didn't think so. It's not like you signed some contract with them or anything.

To be honest, based on your conversation you seem like one of those "website bug hunters" that pester admins in Telegram groups. I've encountered quite a few of those when I did some admin work in the past so no wonder than ended with you getting blocked & banned.
4829  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] WitLink - Fake Team on: March 26, 2021, 05:28:51 PM
It was just purchased and idea were getting prepared, the design and all aspects were not. The team sheet is finally updated and will be added on the ANN thread. If people like considering everyone as scammers, then what can anyone do about it?
Design and all others aspects were not prepared, yet you didn't waste your time and instead you decided to start the sale. That shows your true colors and I am sure that you will continue to show the same level of incompetence and negligence as up until now. Which it proved to be corrected as it see you upload AI generated team member photos instead of stock ones.

If you are indeed legit and honest project that wants to clear own reputation, you would make a video with your team members ASAP showing that they are real, but we all know that won't happen.
4830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 26, 2021, 10:28:11 AM
The director of Nomadland is a Chinese born woman from Beijing. The skeptical me is thinking that the Chinese communist party can manipulate the results and have the movie win all major nominations as a manifestation of their global power and their arrival. China has been manipulating Hollywood already.

The best picture, the best adapted screenplay and the best actress will be won by Nomadland.

https://www.heritage.org/asia/heritage-explains/how-china-taking-control-hollywood
While it's true that studios spend a lot of money on lobbying to get Oscar nominations/awards, I somehow doubt that behind Nomadland (eventual) success is a Chinese government. It is actually a pretty good film (if you like slow paced minimalistic dramas) and  Chloe Zhao is not some complete incompetent noob either unable to make legit good film. Few years ago I saw her The Rider (2017) which I liked a lot so I am not surprised that her next film (Nomadland) got so much appraisal.

I do not get why people may think that Netflix would hurt, most of the major names are moving towards netflix, it is basically a guaranteed thing for them of sorts, depending on the production company of course but basically everyone knows what they are going to get and netflix takes all the fall if it is a bad work, hence that is why I think this gives a guaranteed feeling of comfort for both production and directors and actors and everyone behind the scenes as well.
There are film purists that simply don't think that film should be watched on TV and that will lead to eventual movie degradation as studios won't be interested in producing epic movies that costs 300-400 million USD. I do like Netflix a lot and they brought a lot of good things to us as consumers (their movie Roma is probably my favorite movie made in the last few years) but its yet to be seen whether that really happens eventually.
4831  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Exodus : CRYPTO ETH WALLET on: March 26, 2021, 10:13:53 AM
Too bad that there aren't a lot of people that are going to see this PSA and they are probably too lazy to open their browser to download the wallet directly from the website which means that they are likely to get confused as to which wallet they are going to download, to a lazy and untrained eye, the fake is not going to be suspicious but to someone who knows a thing or two about apps and how to get their clients, they will notice the irregularities pointed out in the fake app.
Problem here is that people are used to downloading apps directly from Google Play and have been doing that for years so when they decide to get crypto wallet for the first time, they won't think twice about the dangers of getting an app from there as they probably never had any issues with any app before. That thought that app could be fake won't even cross their mind, unfortunately.

I really think this is more of a staff / time / technology problem for Google in the sense that they do not have enough people assigned to check all of the potential frauds and with that don't have enough time or their automation technology is not up to the task.
Yep, they are probably understaffed in that regard (poor Google can't afford to hire more people Cheesy) and they simply can't check all those apps manually, and probably don't even care much as they are covered with TOS. Whether that's fair approach is another story..

By the way, thanks for reporting this, I added it to the List of fake wallets on Google Play
4832  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion about Merit Pop up on: March 25, 2021, 03:22:10 PM
I think I saw others complaining about the same thing, and I must say that I agree as I don't really see the reason to have "0" set as default. To be honest, why have any number set as default as all that can cause is either to have to first delete that number or even you may misclick and send way more merit than you initially intended to. Not really a problem for me as I don't remember last time i had more than 6-7 merits to share, but that probably must have happened to merit sources. I guess.
4833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 24, 2021, 04:25:27 PM
I am dividing streaming services production to time before Game of Thrones and after. That series changed everything and showed streaming services that it is profitable to invest large amount of money and produce qoulity show/movie. Before that you could really see the gap in qoulity, nowadays the situation is much better and you will find even Hollywood A listers staring in some of the shows/movies.
To be honest, HBO has a long history of top notch productions years (even decades ) before Game of Thrones appeared. Their shows were always on a completely different level compared to those that were made by for example FOX/NBC/CBS. Just look at the HBO series from 90s/00s like Sopranos, Deadwood, Rome,  OZ, Boardwalk Empire, The Wire, Band of Brothers, or Pacific (which is still the most expensive HBO series ever based on price per episode, even more expensive than GoT} that are considered among best series ever.

Difference now is that more streaming services appeared thanks to internet so of course number of quality series increased and HBO finally got competition, which is good for us as consumers. But even with all these good new series, if someone asks me to name my top 10 series ever, one or none made in the last 10 years would get into that list.

I've placed bets based on my post quoted above:
Best Picture: The Trial of The Chicago 7
Best Actress: Andra Day (The United States Vs. Billie Holiday)
Best Director: either: Emerald Fennell (Promising Young Woman) OR Chloe Zhao (Nomadland)
Best Supporting Actress: Youn Yuh-Jung (Minari)
Best Supporting Actor: Lakeith Stanfield (Judas And The Black Messiah)
An interesting picks, I still can't decide about few. Problem is that some odds for an obvious favorites are way too low so it doesn't make sense, while those that have decent odds don't look like they have good chances. Our of all "major "categories" the one for Best Supporting Actress seems most uncertain. I see that you bet on Youn Yuh-Jung (Minari) which is imho a good bet as she did a decent job bit I am still trying to get my hands on The Father as I think Olivia Coleman might even scoop that. 10 is a great odd but I don't wanna bet without watching a movie first. I know that its not really important to see the movie in order to bet, but still can't force myself betting like that.
4834  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM] Investcryptocurrency.co ponzi scheme on: March 24, 2021, 04:06:06 PM
Hello guys, this is wrong! You can not accuse us of scam or being a Ponzi scheme. We have never defaulted in paying any of our investors! So why jump into wrong conclusions? Anybody that has invested with us, and not gotten their ROI as at when due should come forward!!!
You seriously expect us to believe that 50% ROI on invested BTC is sustainable and legit? Come on, you cant sell that that story to anyone who knows how crypto works. Only newbies that think of BTC as some kind of "magic money" can think that this offer is legit, and those are exactly your target audience!

You "users" are as legit as those newbies that you paid to shill your scam. Tag and flags stays!

You also know you will not pay the investor in near future. Smiley All the ponzi scheme site pay the investor for some days. And later when some fool big investor come you guys run away with people money. So don’t kidding here that you are legit. Have you any money making machine that you can pay people 50% profit in 24 hours? Lol
That would be a best case scenario, in which ponzi pays a little bit so naive investor decides to invest more as he think that's offer is actually legit. Another old trick that works quite often. What's even worse, some of those that fall for this even invite their friends and family.
4835  Economy / Reputation / Re: Why does Foxpup only send negative feedback? on: March 24, 2021, 09:27:02 AM
If you wanted to know why she sent only negative feedbacks, why didn't you ask her that directly via PM instead? Or you just wanna stir some shit, like we didn't have enough  enough of those in reputation section.
4836  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla now accepts Bitcoin on: March 24, 2021, 09:23:33 AM
Elon Musk just announced that you can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin. He also says that they will not convert the BTC to fiat.
What about the law? You don't just give 0.1 BTC and receive a car, there are taxations you'll have to pay to the government. A car isn't a product that you buy in the local market, there are laws that must be enforced. I doubt that you can buy an electric car by only sending some bitcoins. I have never bought a tesla, I'm just saying.
Elon indeed said that "Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency" meaning that he will probably cover the purchase with fiat money so it's all by the book. Theoretically you can accept anything as long as you have enough cash to cover that and I guess that;s what Tesla will do. Keep stocking up on BTC, which is awesome from price point of view!

This is extremely bullish news and it is almost  unbelievable what bitcoin managed to achieve in only ~10 years and an answer to all those that claim bitcoin ain't the real money, if there are any of those left.
4837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pre-sale] Lambodefi 🚀 An ecosystem of decentralized finance products on: March 23, 2021, 09:04:46 PM
Oh, for the love of God. They copied a marketing strategy from a dead project? What an irony!
I'm hoping they don't have any lofty goals for their project. Grin
It is ironic indeed, but let's wait for an answer from the team.

Hi, in addition the findings of Rikaflip, I would also like to invite your attention the picture of the team members, namely: "Jeremy Vaughn" and "Sharon Cook."
Yep, I didn't want to  mention that until I got confirmation from a few different sources as earlier today I asked you and another forum member  to confirm my suspicion that LamboDefi team is fake. That other member pretty much agrees with our findings.

Just wanna add that I think not only those two are fake, but two others, namely Kaiden Reyes and Alex Bowman are most likely fake too. It was the "Alex Bowman" photo that caught my initial attention. The only one that seems like a real person is "Adefemi Yusuff Adegoke", and there is an obvious difference in quality of his and all other team member photos.

If we are all wrong and these are real people, Lambodefi team shouldn't have an issue to provide few more photos of their team members or even better make a YT video proving that those are real people and not generated photos. Based on my previous experience, somehow I doubt we gonna get that.

4838  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: OSCARS 2021- Nominees, Odds and Predictions! on: March 23, 2021, 06:11:31 PM
yes, not all those. Google is our friend during the pandemic, some of the movies I watched on streaming internet because Netflix has banned by the provider either.
Netflix is banned in your country? That sucks. What you could do to circumvent that is use VPN, preferably Express VPN as I know that they work good with Netflix so you can access content in any country.

but what I do resent with Netflix's own production is that most of it has the same distinct Netflix look and feel to them. It's like they have to cookie-cutter all of their productions for some reason.
I kinda had the same feeling years before when Netflix had really bad movies and they did feel like they were made for TV or something, but situation changed lately and Netflix started getting out some really good ones.

Anyone who watched these movies who has the possibility to win Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress because those were the only things that have two tight lines in terms of acting.
Regarding best supporting actress, no one really impressed me so far. I haven't see Olivia Coleman in father yet, and I do like her a lot. About the best supporting actor, probably best was the one who is main favorite,  Daniel Kaluuya. The I think that is overrated this year is Sacha Baron Cohen. What really annoyed me is that he was ocassionaly mixing British and American accents, which is a weird thing as UK actors generally don't have issues with American accent (while opposite is quite common, it's very hard to American actors to fake British accent. I might be nitpicking, but that;s how i felt :p.
4839  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pre-sale] Lambodefi 🚀 An ecosystem of decentralized finance products on: March 23, 2021, 11:29:28 AM
From what I could see, Lambodefi shared the reference links in their whitepaper (even though that could have been done much better and not just sharing them at the bottom of the whitepaper) but some of the content seems like its been taken from another DeFi project that is dead now, Cobweb Finance.

There are several examples of direct copy/paste, but one that really sticks out  is paragraph named "Marketing Strategy". Below is the screenshot of that, with Lambodefi on the left and Cobweb Finance on the right. Original source is from Cobweb Finance Medium where they published whitepaper back in November 2020 while Lambodefi whitepaper was published in December 2020 (at least that's what it says there).] so there is no doubt which one was out first.

As you can see, that is a word for word copy. First thing, I didn't see Cobweb finance being mentioned anywhere in the list of the reference, but even if it was mentioned, how can you copy marketing strategy explanation from another project?

So, I would like to hear from the team how exactly that happened, marketing strategy from another project ending up in their whitepaper?
4840  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: List of fake wallets on Google Play, 5 active at the moment! on: March 23, 2021, 11:09:10 AM
Every time I wonder how it is possible that such fake wallets are allowed in the playstore. I thought they had very strict admission requirements and that you don't just get into that with software. But apparently it works. Kind of a big bug actually.
It's not really a bug but more of a negligence. Google simply can't bother with this and doesn't want to check each app from a new developer manually but they rely on some kind of automatic system which as we can see doesn't work the best, and probably even cant be as good as if verification is done manually by a human.

Google covered their ass with TOS stating that "they are not responsible for any damages caused by apps on their store that are not directly released by them" (or something along those lines) so there is that. On the other hand, Apple has much more user friendly approach and they do heck the apps thoroughly, making them much safer for a newbie/average user.

With that being said, getting app directly from the developers website is still the safest way!
