4822  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: List of fake wallets on Google Play, 2 active at the moment! on: March 14, 2021, 09:51:59 PM
@Rikafip

I found a fake SafePal wallet and the logo is almost the same, it's just different and the fake name is "Safepal Wallet"

So I suspect it's a fake app with a size of 2MB.
Yeah, that's without a doubt another fake wallet. As you noticed app is way too small (compared to real one which is 29 MB meaning almost 15x bigger) and on top of that they have fake reviews+ they took app images for the real one. Thanks for reporting and hopefully it gets removed soon.

The list has been updated with the two new findings today and four previously reported Exodus wallets has been marked as "removed" so for now here are at least two active fake wallets on Google Play.
4823  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The history of bitcoin ATMs is much longer than I thought! on: March 14, 2021, 06:29:04 PM
For the last couple of years bitcoin ATMs were my preferred way of cashing out simply because they didn't require KYC (at least not in my country) and fee was somewhat reasonable (~4 %) but unfortunately ATM in my town increased the fee to approximately 6.5 % last year and that is something I am simply not willing to give anymore.

I do understand that owner has a lot of expenses and that profit margin ain't big for sure when he pays the rent for the place ( owner has 2 ATMs there) and all the taxes but still I felt like being robbed so I found other ways of cashing out while avoiding using my bank account.

@The Pharmacist I am just curious, how much is the fee at the ATM you are using?
4824  Economy / Reputation / Re: Death threats by Lucius and ~DefaultTrust on: March 14, 2021, 05:16:48 PM
They're not death threats at all.  Saying that you wish someone would die is not the same as saying you're going to kill them, it's as simple as that.  I've seen this scenario quite a few times on bitcointalk over the years where someone claims death threats were made, and it turns out that it was nothing of the sort.  There was probably a language barrier involved in some of those cases, but I'm not sure that's what's happening here.
Yeah I agree, people on forum tend to report various expressions or just some bickering like in this case as death threats just because they know that there are serious repercussions for such things (perma ban if I am not mistaken). Those who had real death threats will just laugh at something like this. I personally had those and gun pointed at me when I was a witness on a trial and friends of accused party  didn't like what i had to say so they decided to pay me a visit. So yeah, I don't really like when people call death threat something like this.

Regarding that jerry0 negative feedback, I do agree that it was an overkill but I don't think that @dkbit98 deserves an exclusion. He tagged (and busted) a lot of real scammers and I don't see him a someone who abuses trust system. Bad feedback can happen to anyone and it can be changed anyway.
4825  Economy / Reputation / Re: Death threats by Lucius and ~DefaultTrust on: March 14, 2021, 04:15:58 PM
Dunno, maybe I am just too thick skinned and insensitive but I don't see those things that @Lucius and @~DefaultTrust wrote as death threats, nor would I feel death threatened if they wrote that to me. Honestly, that whole thread should just be thrashed or locked a its just a bunch of nonsense and people writing stuff that's already been discussed many times before.
4826  Other / Meta / Re: [CHARTS] Brief monthly overview of the local boards activity on: March 14, 2021, 03:54:30 PM
I am pleased that in the last few month I have seen a lot of good change in the local Indonesian board. The number of post and active users of local board Indonesia continues to grow and has an impact on the number of post and merit distributed. Since 2021, I feel that the distribution of merit there has started to improve and it must be due to the quality of user post. I keep updating my thread every month about the number of post, distribution of merit, on local board and that has encouraged people to do their best. I thank @Rikafip for giving me permission to keep up with the local council activity data.
I am glad to see that Indonesian local board is slowly recovering after several bad months. When I first started doing these overviews Indonesian board was one of the most active, both post  and merit wise and out of sudden, your numbers dropped significantly, for whatever reason.

What I know is, when compared to other local board, local board Indonesia are still classified as local board with limited merit distribution at this time. Based on data, since July 2020 the distribution of merit in the Indonesian local board has never reached 200 and make it difficult for local contributor to move up the ranking. Meanwhile, I see some of the contributor below struggling to move up to the next rank. I believe that if the amount of merit distributed does not exceed 200 per month, then I think it will take these people a lot of time to reach it. But I never considered this as a problem, because ranking should be achieved naturally with all form of contribution made to the forum and users.
It is true that Indonesian board has one of the lowest merit.post ratio among all local boards while year ago it was completely opposite, your ratio was several times higher than it is now. For an example, just look at the merit/post ratio for March 2020 (first post of this thread) while Indonesian board had similar post count as it had last month. It is a huge decrease, going from 0.7 to 0.14.

I was wondering, do the current Indonesian local board really need a source of merit to distribute more merit to quality posts there?
That's the question only you and members of your local  board can answer as only you knows what's the posting quality there and how many good posts get unmerited etc. If you think that's the case, member of your board can apply to become merit source, or you can report good under merited/unmerited posts to Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source.
4827  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: March 14, 2021, 03:35:03 PM

4828  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Mjesečna Analiza za Hrvatsku Lokalnu Zajednicu (Bitcointalk Croatian) on: March 14, 2021, 11:22:12 AM

Usporedba svih lokalnih boardova.

Top 30 aktivnih  clanova domaceg boarda u periodu 1.2-31.2

4829  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin back to $ 10,000? on: March 14, 2021, 09:47:44 AM
Let me check my crystal ball :p

Joke aside, I don't really think that we will see bitcoin again at $10,000 any time soon, or ever for that matter. To go down from these levels (~60,000) to $10,000 it would mean more than 80 correction, so something like we saw back in the early 2018. Situation is different now, big names are now buying BTC so I don't expect panic selling like before even when it goes down. Another reason why I don't see 10,000 happening is because 60,000 is definitely not the top of the bull cycle. So more we go up, less chances to see BTC at $10,000. I personally don' think that BTC goes below 20k.

The only way for us to see 10k BTC ever again is imho some major fuck up or some widespread ban on everything BTC related.
4830  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: List of fake wallets on Google Play, 4 active at the moment! on: March 14, 2021, 09:05:50 AM
@Rikafip

Another fake MEW, clever trick, didn't used the logo but still I think this is scam and fake MEW wallet:

Code:
 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nowtips.copy
Yep, it is fake wallet, different logo doesn't mean that they are not fake. Just look at the screenshot below, on the left its the MEW wallet description that you shared and on the right side it's the original. They are obviously impersonating the original wallet, even claiming that its "Ethereum's original and most trusted wallet" while we know that's obviously not true and that they are lying.I reported the fake app and will be added to the list.

Good find by the way as this fake wallet has more than 10,000 downloads.
4831  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [Warning] Polkasocial-AI generated founder photo+fake ratings on Google Play on: March 13, 2021, 04:26:38 PM
Four days passed and ANN thread is still locked meaning no answer form Polkasocial team. From my experience, them ignoring this completely means only one thing; team is completely fake, and not just the founder photo, but the rest too. No legit project would wait for so long to answer to these accusations. I mean, how hard is to make one lousy video and remove all doubt?

Worst of all, seems like people are buying those tokens, if those are legit investors on Telegram asking about token distribution, but  sometimes scammers fake that too in order to attract legit ones.
4832  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Help: I Think a Mixer Scammed Me on: March 13, 2021, 09:02:40 AM
What a coincidence, another person that was allegedly scammed by MyCryptoMixer for the exactly same amount  as another user reported few weeks ago.

Let's say for a second that it really happened the way you described it; why on earth would you send such a big amount of BTC to the service that you never used before? Why not start with smaller amounts first?

Really looking forward you providing some evidence like letter of guarantee.
4833  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Visa Cards Are Now Available in Europe on: March 12, 2021, 10:06:22 PM
Wait a moment, are you living inside the EU zone? I know you post on the Croatian board so assuming that, didn't you have to pay some extra conversion fees? I'm getting a bit of conflicting feedback on this card  Grin
You are right, Croatia is not in the Euro zone yet ( we are in EU though) but I am currently visiting one Eurozone country and that's where I tried using ATM for the first time. But from what I heard about conversion rate from some people that tried using card with ATM in Croatia, exchange rate was pretty good so it seems like Binance is not trying to rip off people so I will continue to do that (if needed) when i get back to Croatia.

Back to the actual usage, I went in with no preparation, no ritual, no nothing as it was Friday afternoon and I simply had no desire to follow any rules. Activated the card, exchanged and put 100 on the balance, set euro first, started buying 5-10 euros worth of junk food from all the neighboring shops, 7 purchases nothing wrong with the transactions no errors about an invalid card, not enough funds, no nothing, works as it was supposed to work.
Still wondering about testing it with GooglePay but I don't see any reason for it at the moment.
Glad to hear everything working perfectly, it was same for me. No preparation, no procedures, I literally started using card half an hour after i got it and since then no issues whatsoever. I don't see why it shouldn't work with Google Play too.

PS
I was sure about the looks of the cashiers, I caught at least one looking intensely at that all black card  Grin
Haha it does look cool indeed! They must have thought "who is that big shot"  Cheesy
4834  Other / Meta / Re: Why can merit decrease ?.......... on: March 12, 2021, 08:04:24 PM
Why can merit decrease ?, and who can take away?
Someone took one from me.
Are you absolutely sure that it happened? Maybe you just remembered wrong how much merit you had. Imho that is more likely than getting your merit removed.

Thing is, merit removal is extremely rare and  and even when that happens as far as I know it  should be visible on your merit transaction history and there is no sign of that.
4835  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Visa Cards Are Now Available in Europe on: March 12, 2021, 07:41:20 PM
Just joined the Binance card owners club  Grin
Welcome! Cheesy

Based on what I've read till now the safe procedure posted by Neuroticfish is a bit of a pain in the ass since I don't plan to use the virtual card nor to use the ATM for a withdrawal so I will just load my account, I will make the sacrilege of converting a few satoshis in BNB besides Euros and try to spend just from the Euro balance as I don't want any funny conversions as bakasabo stumbled upon, I wouldn't cry over 1-2 euros but I hate when I lose money over glitches.
I honestly had no issues whatsoever with Binance card for now. I've tried buying stuff online, using it at the supermarket and just the other day I used it for the first time to take some money out of the ATM and it worked like a charm. This ATM thing was the best part, as it turns out that it is the cheapest way I know to cash out. All I had to pay was 2.5 euro fee at the ATM and that's about it. Afaik, daily limit is 290 euro so it may take a while if you are cashing out bigger amount of money, but  for sure beats BTC ATM (that was my standard way of cashing out ) and its ~6% fee.

All in all, I am very satisfied and it became my go-to card for daily use.

* I think you don't get cashback for ATM withdrawal.
Yeah that would be a bit too much I think, to expect cashback on ATM withdrawals.
4836  Economy / Reputation / Re: Is Theymos really a lauda? on: March 12, 2021, 06:57:54 PM
It is unknown whether Lauda is male or female, or what age Lauda was.  I say “she”, because I think that Lauda had feminine behaviour.  But she refused to disclose all such information, for reason of privacy.  I myself asked her many personal questions.  All that she would say was, “I’m a cat.”
All those that understand Croatian/Serbian shouldn't have any doubt whether Lauda is a male or female. Among other things, we have  genders for verbs in past tense and adjectives. In his posts made in Croatian board,  Lauda always used masculine gender. I remember some time ago I was so bored that I actually tried to find posts where he used feminine gender, to no avail.

Just an example from one of his posts. Adjectives and verbs are bolded, all masculine gender.

Razumio sam sada.

Ne bih rekao ali u svakom slucaju ne bih ti preporucio.

Da nisam procitao ovu temu ne bih ni skontao . Zauzet sam nesto trenutno, ali bar ima srece s ovom cijenom. Grin

This is how it would look like if it was written using feminine gender

Maybe Lauda wanted to hide his gender right from the beginning, but somehow I think that he had just a bit of fun with people guessing it because of his name ends with an "a" or whatever else started all that, even though when I heard his name for the first time it didn't sound as a female name since it reminded me of a famous Austrian F1 driver Niki Lauda.
4837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A DEEP ANALYSIS ON WHY ETHEREUM IS TERRIBLE on: March 12, 2021, 05:36:19 PM
First of all, as you can see, this board is called "Bitcoin Discussion" so I don't think that this is appropriate board to talk about Ethereum and why it is terrible or not etc. You can move your topic by clicking "move topic" that is in the bottom left of your screen. Most appropriate place for this would be "Altcoin Discussion". Better do it yourself as if you don't, someone will probably report it so it may even end up being deleted.

Regarding the video, since its more than 40 minutes long, I need some time to watch it first before making any judgment.
4838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which plan seems better? on: March 12, 2021, 03:13:44 PM
If you want to risk more, then you can diversify between BTC and ETH but if you want to play if safe, just go all in on BTC. As simple as that.

Regarding that part on buying the dips, since I guess that you are new to all this, timing the market will be very hard for you, and possibly even frustrating (like being upset because you bought and right after that price went lower). What I would suggest you is to buy BTC/ETH once in a few weeks, preferably at the same date and keep on buying like that,so some sort of collar cost average method.

Rikafip I think there is still a bug in the data determination. So at least in the "German" area are missing users or are users who are not there.

As an example, my user.
222 Postings in February but missing in the collection.
