4821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: ABJCoin SCAM Project! on: December 30, 2017, 09:53:50 AM
It looks like this section of the forum needs a dedicated area for alt coins. If you are going to invest in them, you have to realize that 99% of them will start and end as a trash coin. Do you really think you can beat the odds and invest in enough good coins to outweigh all the losses? Sorry to hear you lost money, but some common sense and a bit of critical thinking would stop it in future.
4822  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: whaleclub broker fraud on: December 30, 2017, 09:51:22 AM
The company name says it all really, people who have lots of money tend not to join organizations called "Whale Club". It is the sort of name that is designed to lure in people with very little money and it apparently works well for fraudsters. It is unlikely you'll see the money again unfortunately.
4823  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTS] Original Papersafe Note #28, Rare BTCC Poker Chips & f*D Ethereum Coin on: December 28, 2017, 03:41:37 PM
What is the going price for original Casascius business card (Mike Caldwell) in a photo frame?

Is that signed by Mike by the way too?

I wish it were signed, I bought the business card from Blazed a couple years ago and got it framed shortly after. I'd say it is a pretty special piece and doubt there are many around in a decent condition. I can take a photo if you are interested, haven't really thought of a good price for it really - if you want to offer
4824  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [WTB] BTCC Chips on: December 28, 2017, 02:49:57 PM
I have one of the rare 3 star versions of the 0.001 BTC poker chips from BTCC. If you're interested, the thread is here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2511443
4825  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Pappy Van Winkle - Free guaranteed shipping. Perfect Christmas presents. on: December 26, 2017, 09:06:56 PM
I think that is absolutely a great idea.

We've been playing with the idea of breaking bottles down into more affordable tasting sizes.

Honestly, I'm in the same boat and small vials would make it affordable for me to have a drink once every blue moon as well!

I'm going to look into this further in 2018 for sure.

That's great, if you do get around to it please let me know and I'd likely pick up a few mini bottles. Making sure the drink doesn't get switched out and nothing contaminates the original taste would be an important part Smiley
4826  Economy / Goods / Re: Bitcoin poems for 10$ on: December 26, 2017, 08:48:45 PM
"He said without even getting as much if a little taste of Coinac's poetry".

Seriously, sometimes I think there is s group of people paid for bringing down as much as just a little grain of inspiration in this world. Ok, so you suggest me to show some poems for free before I charge, fine, got it and you say that my niche is too narrow focusing only on Bitcoin.  So ok, I'll write about anything you desire but based on a nice dialogue. Ok done. But why the heavy judgement?! C'mon let this flower grow. So far I see so many people here on the forum quite simply wasting their own energy and lifetime trying actively to bring people down BEFORE you even get a clue of what things are about. So, to your suggestions, 1: No and 2: No. 10$ per poem IS giving it away. When the demand grows the price will rise too and I adress bitcoin or crypto websites, initiatives, news, blogs or anyone who can afford much more than 10 bucks. You can pay after you get the poem based on trust. If you want to steal a 10$ poem please be my guest. Ok, my suggestion is: If you want a poem pm me. If not pm me some constructive suggestions in a kind tone instead of poluting the thread with prejudice or just head over to a thread that actually interest you

You have no trust here, that is why people want examples. Thousands of scammers have been and gone from this forum, so people don't work on faith. You can whine and moan all you want, trying to act the victim here, but it will get you nowhere. This is a community that stands up for others, so don't tell people they cannot post in your thread - maybe you should go elsewhere if you cannot handle it. "PM me for an example" is typical scammer talk, it is easy to try and fool random people with plagiarized work by keeping it hidden.
4827  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Pappy Van Winkle - Free guaranteed shipping. Perfect Christmas presents. on: December 25, 2017, 07:18:06 PM
Just an idea, but have you thought about doing something slightly different with your bottles of Pappy? There is a company in the UK called Master of Malt and they stock a wide selection of drinks. However the quirky thing they do is offer 3cl "drams", in sort of clinical bottles with a wax seal on top. I bought a pappy one of these last year and gave it away as a present, however I would love to try it personally and a small taste would be perfect.

I calculated it at the time and they would recoup 2-3 times the cost of a whole bottle (at the prices you charge) with minimal extra outlay. Finding a food safe lab, choosing the right seal and buying the bottles seem like small extra costs for the return on the amount of bottles you'd be selling. It seems lots of people are interested, but the high entry cost prevents a lot of people from buying.
4828  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Dump Your iPhone on: December 25, 2017, 07:03:53 PM
There are exploits and bugs in every single phone model, I did actually "dump" my iphone in the last year and am much happier with an android device. However, it is impossible to say which is more secure - open source allows anyone to find an exploit, but the more eyes on it - the safer it should be long term. iPhones run a closed source system, which is harder to find exploits in but they are likely to exist for much longer.
4829  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Warning - Scam attempt in progress (people claiming they represent WEX.nz) on: December 25, 2017, 12:19:18 PM
I've left them a negative trust rating, let's see if they respond to it. The account looks highly suspicious and it doesn't make the slightest bit of sense to be running an "unofficial" account on behalf of any company. Reporting the threads in these situations has little affect, because the staff do not have the time to verify all the detail for every thread.
4830  Economy / Reputation / Re: VOD Has to go He threaten life of another member for a loan on: December 25, 2017, 11:23:09 AM
Maybe you should pay your bills instead of stealing other peoples money. I have zero sympathy for either of you, but it seems you are using a lame excuse to get out of paying what you owe. Don't borrow money if you cannot or will not pay it back, otherwise you will find people much worse than VOD coming your way. It is not illegal to visit someones house, and there is no inherent threat in that suggestion.
4831  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcointalk account Moddak2 was compromised on: December 25, 2017, 11:20:35 AM
You won't get any sympathy here for trying to sell your bitcointalk account and getting scammed for it. Most people hate account traders around here, you will not find anyone trustworthy buying accounts.
4832  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Most powerful standing Military on: December 25, 2017, 11:15:23 AM
It should be quite obvious, the biggest single country economy in the world and they utilize a very high percent of their budget to fund military projects. If you are a rich and stable country, it is always politically prudent to spend lots of money on the military - the "heroes". Easy way to secure votes, if you lower it down or take it away, then people will say you are against the military that have wide support.

The problem is, when you have such a large and sophisticated army, you need something for them to do - or it looks like a pointless waste of money. That's why wars like Afghanistan and Iraq happened. Another trickle down negative side affect is the militarization of the police force, through all the unnecessary weaponry left over.
4833  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should Europe repay Africa for Slavery on: December 24, 2017, 02:40:40 PM
I think you have misread my statement. I am not backing Islam terrorism. . there is no good terrorism or bad terrorism in the world. It is bad. It mist be wiped out. so is extremism. They all against the humanity. I mean Westerns and some powerful organization behind modern Islam terrorism. and in the past Christians also killed so many people. and they still kill. US and UK killed so many iraqi people. it is 4% of their country population. it is big , isn't it? They said Sadam got nuclear weopans. but they found nothing in the end. These are conspiracies, Even Americans questioning their leaders now.

What you don't seem to understand is terrorism is a perspective. One mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. Not all terror is the same either. The IRA when bombing England would ring ahead and tell everyone to get out of the building. The Muslim terrorists popping up lately have an obsession with beheading and throwing people off buildings. It leads back to their teaching, it is bullshit when people say "Islam is the religion of peace". It is a horrible religion and condones all sorts of gratuitous violence.
4834  Economy / Goods / Re: EU trusted dealers which sell Bullion via BTC on: December 24, 2017, 02:12:10 PM
I have used amagimetals.com in the past, they accept payment in bitcoin however they are are USA based company. However it is not without problems - If you pay in bitcoin, it may get caught up in customs and require the appropriate import taxes to be paid when it reaches you. At the moment, there are very few sellers in the market for precious metals bought with bitcoin.
4835  Economy / Goods / Re: Nba League Pass on: December 24, 2017, 02:04:27 PM
I wouldn't trust a single thing this person says, in another thread he has open he has the message: "Looking to buy amazon or psn cards for cheap don’t mind if they are carded."

He doesn't mind if he buys stolen mechanize, because he is reselling it to you and you will get in trouble for using it. Stay well clear.
4836  Economy / Gambling / Re: BitCoin gambling on: December 24, 2017, 01:32:20 PM
Which country are you in? Is your lottery licensed by any government agency? (Likely not). You might as well give your money away to a random stranger on the street - there is no independent verification of the prizes or how they are awarded. It is likely to benefit the website owner only and even if he doesn't get caught, it's likely to be breaking the law.
4837  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we in a Bitcoin Bubble on: December 24, 2017, 01:26:35 PM
What do you mean, you are no good at reading charts? It is pretty obvious to anyone that the price of bitcoin has gone up massively and historically, what goes up - must come down. There is no special formula that will tell you when the bubble will burst, however the recent massive drop should be a grave warning sign to all speculators.
4838  Economy / Goods / Re: Buying Redeemed Casascius,Titan, Etc Coins on: December 24, 2017, 01:11:58 PM
You'd get more interest if you posted this in the correct section of the forum, a.k.a the "Collectibles" area. You must be joking if you think Paypal gives both parties equal protection. Paypal always favours the buyer (You) and the seller has little recourse to get their money if things go wrong. You will find very few traders on this forum willing to accept Paypal (Hint: You are on an alternative digital currency forum)
4839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy low and selling high on different exchanges on: December 24, 2017, 01:07:06 PM
I'd say this is quite common, especially when the price of digital currencies has been moving so far lately. The difficulties would be how long it takes to convert into bitcoin and the fees associated with moving bitcoin around - they have grown quite high lately. If you're buying in big enough amounts, then it should be fairly easy to make a profit.
4840  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Checkmate Humanity on: December 24, 2017, 01:02:07 PM
How rude, I think humans are perfectly capable of destroying the planet, without letting some silly robotic artificial intelligence do it for us. It is much more likely that a nuclear war will make the planet uninhabitable. There are things like volcanic eruptions or asteroids which could also end the human race, before we develop this technology.
