4821  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT!!! user "Rampion" on: May 02, 2013, 05:42:05 AM
Stop with this, nobody gives a shit and scammer accusations is not the proper forum for trolling an agenda.
4822  Economy / Lending / Re: BTCJam Loan (Home Improvement) - 200 BTC Principle, Re-payable over 6 Months on: May 02, 2013, 05:40:20 AM
200 -> 244 BTC, 22% for 6 months

48.8% APR, *unless* you screw up activating the listing and have to pay 7 months. You sure you can't get a loan from a bank for lower than that? Most credit cards (to those with some amount of credit) are under that.
4823  Economy / Securities / Re: When GLBSE is closed, what happen to owner of ASICMiner PT? on: May 02, 2013, 05:26:46 AM
ASICMINER on GLBSE was the ASICMINER stock. PTs only existed after GLBSE shutdown.

Sounds good.
4825  Economy / Securities / Re: I want to invest in asicminer on: May 01, 2013, 07:28:55 PM
I would suggest bitfunder very highly. No management fees

There is no real reason for you to own "actual" shares over pass-throughs.  I own both and feel very confident that there is minimum risk in owning pass through shares.  Buying a couple here and there and having them transfered out to friedcat has to be a huge headache for him.  I like that DeadTerra set up a high limit for that.
There is a slight advantage to getting dividends faster, but yeah.
4826  Economy / Securities / Re: [BTC-TC][ASICMINER-100PT] - Public trading of 1% Interest in ASICMINER shares on: May 01, 2013, 07:25:50 PM
You know, building a service with the btct.co/bf API that allows purchase of fractional shares for anything would be cool.
4827  Economy / Lending / Re: BTCJam Loan (Home Improvement) - 200 BTC Principle, Re-payable over 6 Months on: May 01, 2013, 03:21:53 PM
Six percent a month and it's less than your bank? Your bank charges more than 101% APR for a home improvement loan?

4830  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] 1Broker.com - Trade forex, indices, stocks and commodities on: April 29, 2013, 12:21:35 AM
perhaps this is a dumb question but I don't get it:

Since prices are in dolars; how do I know how much I buy for a Bitcoin? For example, if Facebook is $500 and I buy it for 1 coin....how do I know how much I will buy? Sure, after closing the position, it doesn't realy matter....if it goes up 1% it goes up 1%; but it is dificult to see how much % I will pay with the spread giving
You never buy any shares. You buy a contract for difference.

Your accounts may not be linked together properly.. Open a support ticket.
4832  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] dns.canhasinter.net: Bypass pay-for WiFi hotspots through DNS with Bitcoin on: April 28, 2013, 06:07:25 AM
Planned on using this. Ended up just pinging servers and directly connecting via IPs.

4834  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] $2000 in prizes for CoinChat - create your own chatroom and earn a grand! on: April 28, 2013, 05:31:55 AM
Not to rain on your thing, which is cool and everything (yes, seriously): the main strategic advantage of IRC in MP's eyes is the distributed server architecture, which makes it very resilient.

Is there any way you can recode this so that anyone wanting can run a server, and then shutting the thing down would become a question of ruining everyone's computer? IRC servers are bulky and demanding, requiring dedicated servers pretty much. If your thing is nimble enough to be run on random desktop in background you've got a huge thing here.
Absolutely, but it depends on the amount of active connections. It's very light, rarely uses a couple of percent of CPU of a cheap VPS - network IO is the limiting factor.

It's still under very active development as you can see by bootstrap. Coinchat is commercial through, I can release the core server software as FOSS, but if it's a good strategy for me is something else.

Source code for the server is not released.

If you would like to contribute to RippleScam.org, send me a PM. I'm also spending a moderate amount on advertising. Send me a PM if you could help.

4837  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: THE BITCOIN FOUNDATION, INC. on: April 27, 2013, 09:38:42 AM
Well there you have it, a United States corporation is trying to take over Bitcoin.

The Bitcoin Foundation is not trying to take over anything.
They are not trying to take over anything because they already have.
4838  Economy / Service Discussion / (Node.js) Build your own bot kit for CoinChat on: April 27, 2013, 09:27:44 AM
Want to write your own bot for CoinChat, a fast web based chat network integrated with bitcoin?

1. Install node.js and socket.io-client (npm install socket.io-client).
2. Register a new account for your bot by using a new browser or clearing your cookies. It must end in bot. Grab the session key from your cookies. This is how you'll sign in.
3. Use this code to get started:

Code:
var io = require('socket.io-client');
socket = io.connect("https://coinchat.org", {
    secure: true
});

var username = "";
var outputBuffer = [];

socket.on('connect', function () {
    //Your session key (aka API key)
    //Get this from your browser's cookies.
    socket.emit('login', {
        session: "YOUR_SESSION_KEY_HERE"
    });
    socket.on('loggedin', function (data) {
        username = data.username;
        setTimeout(function () {
            socket.emit("getcolors", {});

        }, 1000);
        setInterval(function () {
            //CoinChat has a 550ms anti spam prevention. You can't send a chat message more than once every 550ms.
            if (outputBuffer.length > 0) {
                var chat = outputBuffer.splice(0, 1)[0];
                socket.emit("chat", {
                    room: chat.room,
                    message: chat.message
                });
            }
        }, 600);
    });

    socket.on('chat', function (data) {
        if (contains(data.message, ["hi", username])) {
            outputBuffer.push({
                room: data.room,
                message: 'Hi ' + data.user + "!"
            });
        }
        if (contains(data.message, ["slaps", "ccbot"])) {
            outputBuffer.push({
                room: data.room,
                message: "/me slaps " + data.user + " around a bit with a large trout."
            });
        }
        if (contains(data.message, ["<span class='label label-success'>has tipped " + username])) {
            var amount = data.message.split("<span class='label label-success'>has tipped " + username + " ")[1].split(" ")[0];
            outputBuffer.push({
                room: data.room,
                message: "Thanks for the " + amount + " mBTC tip " + data.user + "!"
            });
        }
        if (contains(data.message, ["!flip"])) {
            var res = (Math.random() > 0.5 ? "heads" : "tails");
            socket.emit("chat", {
                room: data.room,
                message: "Flipping coin: " + res + "!"
            });
        }
    });

    socket.on('disconnect', function () {});
});

function contains(string, terms) {
    for (var i = 0; i < terms.length; i++) {
        if (string.toLowerCase().indexOf(terms[i].toLowerCase()) == -1) {
            return false;
        }
    }
    return true;
}

There isn't any formal documentation for the API yet, but look through the chat client code here to reverse-engineer it (it's really simple if you know socket.io). Feel free to ask any questions here, or /pm admin

Does SMF store sent PMs again? Data duplication.
