4821  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to bet in sports? on: November 26, 2019, 01:48:56 AM
What about strategizing on what sport/team you are going to pick. So, for example, I have a basketball game that I will watch, then I would decide on a side on who would win at the end of the first half. I'm not exactly sure what site supports that now, but I know some sites adjust odds live when the game is currently continuing. Since it's still season in NBA, I think it's still unlikely on them that there will be certain situations where it turns around right at the end.

I do think this is not ideal but the fact that I'm letting their fate decide on themselves if that makes any sense is why I think of doing this. It makes me more confident in my picks because there is already a sneak peek of the ending during the game. Don't take this as advice, please — just a thought.

4823  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Black Friday - 30% discount (25 November - 2 December). on: November 25, 2019, 03:27:44 PM
Good to know that Ledger has something planned for the Black Friday madness that everyone wants. At least to those who don't have a hardware wallet would benefit a lot from that discount. I feel sad if someone bought like one week before the discount, it might have some emotional effects.

So reading some of the replies, it depends on the person's preference if picking up an X or just an S.

So for iOS people: the Nano X because of it's none-OTG capability.
Android people: if they have OTG capabilities, then it would save them more money.
4824  Economy / Economics / Re: Is IBM is on path to bring blockchain to the masses? on: November 25, 2019, 01:16:45 PM
IBM has the power to Put funding into blockchain technology. But I doubt that it’s for mass adoption. They are there to improve the actual technology, but it’s just a second priority, in my opinion. I’m not part of IBM, but I think it’s reasonable to look at it that way.

I think it’s not just IBM who has the power or the capability to have R&D With regards to blockchain technology. All of the top 10 probably could have the ability to influence the market, like Microsoft and Google.
4825  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's a BUY flag on: November 25, 2019, 10:18:41 AM
The ONLY reason the price is down is because somebody somewhere out there decided to
dump it at this price, not because Bitcoin is suddenly less valuable.
That's the same as to any other value, as long as someone believes and is using what Bitcoin was made for, then it's valuable. It could go to a lower price and could give you more possibilities to claim more. I think this is a good way to increase your holdings in BTC. You will never know when it increases or decreases. What I usually do is do a DCA, averaging my bought price and continue doing it.

Exchange prices can be
easily manipulated (fiat banks) and are highly sensitive to the unpredictable decisions of big
traders who are acting on emotion. Whenever this happens, it's a huge BUY flag.
Manipulation has been always a rumor, I don't know if there is already evidences to show that it has been done but I don't speculate or consider that to affect me in my decisions. I know what I would do and stick to my strategy.
4826  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are your criteria to go back/sticking with one particular gambling house on: November 25, 2019, 08:45:43 AM
This list is my personal criteria with regards to sticking to one gambling house.
  • They offer low house edge
  • Checking the integrity of the results (by Provably Fair)
  • Multiple currencies
    • This is for making my balance higher
    • My BTC would be more when converted to ETH. Eg. 0.01 BTC would be 0.49 ETH (6.6K USD conversion right now)
  • Their website should apply to any device (Desktop, Mobile, iPad, etc.)

The main concern that I want to have is the capability to access it easily. I hope that the casino is also taking care of its customers by introducing new features in the site and organizing events that players would love to have. These are just my opinion, and I do think some of these are others' wants too.
4827  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be realistic for the world to run on cryptocurrencies? on: November 25, 2019, 05:54:10 AM
I am just wondering would it be possible in the future for the world to run solely on cryptocurrency?
There are a lot of factors to be considered when talking about acceptance in general. I doubt it's going to happen.

First, imagine USD. It's a stable currency, but not every country accepts it directly, it needs to be converted first to the local currency. When someone is not taking it, why would they bother? It's going to be just a piece of paper in their hand, and it would be useless. It's all about acceptance on a global scale, and I don't think everyone would agree. It's not realistic, in my opinion. It's not just the government restrictions but the humans who would be ideally using it, it's nothing.

I think that we can solve most of these problems by educating people about cryptocurrencies and debunking what the mainstream media have done to slander cryptocurrencies.
I honestly think that if these issues a solved then we will probably have more people to use cryptocurrencies worldwide.
Being optimistic about cryptocurrencies would be are good for you and for the people who accepts it but it's not going to be enough to convince other people about it too. If you educate people about it, it's just something that they might step aside after a couple of months. They should have practical application and usability of it.
4828  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Rules of Bitcoin Club on: November 24, 2019, 02:52:30 PM
Oh, what a reminiscing movie. If you are going to apply Fight Club to Bitcoin, then it's going to be like what you said. I would like to add more.

Rule 3: Support Bitcoin as long as you have to. Show dedication towards cryptocurrencies
Rule 4: If this is the first time you heard of Bitcoin Club, you have to buy Bitcoin!

I think these rules could be implemented if there's going to be A club. Lol.
4829  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to profit from crypto arbitrage trading on: November 24, 2019, 09:32:19 AM
The idea of arbitrage is not new. There are a lot of aspects that you could arbitrage. The concept with those different places in which could arbitrage is just the same. Let’s put it in simple terms, and it’s just taking advantage of buying at a lower price of the same product and selling it at a higher price.

So let’s say you could do that in trading the problem is that you cannot do it so fast. Once you have seen or computed that you could profit from it, it’s already been finished, or the opportunity is gone.

The easiest way that you could profit is to utilize a bot, just like Gunbot with Bitrage. It’s going to be automated and could help you profit from it. With different modes, you could easily make risk free trading with arbitrage. If anyone wants to know more about Bitrage, you could PM me.

For everyone who has experienced this, I know how you feel. Lol.

Anyways what I normally do is just use the link of that post and somehow give a gist of what I want to quote in there. Just by clicking on the #49321059 on the post and pasting it as a reference. This is when I quote in bitcointalk.

For other articles, I just put the author with the link, maybe you could use this too. Using the link coming from #59152874915 and posting that

4831  Economy / Exchanges / Re: localbitcoins scam ? on: November 24, 2019, 05:55:18 AM
Isn't it possible that you may be your files don't match? I searched for possible KYC related stuff on the internet and found that they have started a new identity verification system. [1]. Possibly your files might not have passed the test. They are using ONFIDO [2] for verification, and maybe it just didn't work, knowing that you also have a large balance.

4832  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ Scamming Senior Citizens With Bitcoin Retirement Plan on: November 24, 2019, 02:08:31 AM
When someone hears about huge returns then they should assume it as probably scam
I know that the world of scamming is to entice people and to make sure they are aware that it’s possible to have that kind of return but it's not to realistic or at least possible with just investing. I have seen traders get the huge profits with big swings so it depends on how they are going to get it.

This world filled with people who have thought of becoming rich but have no idea about how to become one.
Understandably, no one has an idea of how to become one at the start of their careers or businesses; it's up to the person's will to do it and to not be lazy enough to rely on those kinds of schemes.

No millionaires were born from investing on such things they either create that investment plans or invest on something with realistic returns.
For the investing part, there are a lot of millionaires born from it. It's either you are at the top of the food chain or not; that's how they can become a millionaire or just a victim of that scam.
4833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble with a controlled mindset on: November 23, 2019, 07:08:54 PM
It is easier said than done. You can never be sure with what you would say you would do knowing that it's hard to promise something that you are unsure of, it's almost the same with that. It is not just a simple on and off switch, considering because we are emotional creatures. That's one of the biggest mystery on how we would be able to control that. The control of emotions could lead to a controlled mindset, and having that mindset could lead to controlled games, no more losing your mind to just a simple scientific method approach.

There are a lot of stories with addicted players taking on gambling and losing their minds with it because they don't know what to do. They are getting the easy way out, suicide. I hope no one does this because life is essential.

It's better to surround yourself with positive people, and soon you will be too.

4836  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: ‘Satoshi Nakamoto’ Scamming Senior Citizens With Bitcoin Retirement Plan on: November 23, 2019, 07:11:08 AM
There are different reasons why someone would try Ponzi Schemes, and The most common interest is profit. It turns us, humans, into greedy creatures. I'm just aware that there are a lot of people who want the EASY money and EASY profit. That’s why some people have kept on falling into these types of scams.

The most important thing to consider with this is the reputation of Bitcoin itself. It is surrounded by all the people who are taking advantage of the pseudo-anonymity of BTC. What I don't like is how they take advantage of senior citizens' pension and possibly scamming them more.

There's nothing we could do, but to inform others Of the possible scam approach of it, it is disguised as a multi-level marketing style and all those types to the ones we care about. Ignore and move on.
4837  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S Hypothetical Situation, Curious on the answers on: November 23, 2019, 04:09:03 AM
The method where you delete the coin in your Ledger could be a great way to have a set and forget the of thing. Don't worry; it's just a way to keep track of your holdings, so if you decide to delete one of them, you might forget that you have one. There could be advantages and disadvantages to that like:

  • Pros
    • Setting a coin and completely forgetting everything
    • Eventually remembering the coin you saved and thankful that you remembered
    • Set a time and date to check if the value has changed
  • Cons
    • Completely forgetting it and it lost value
A lot of people have done that, and it's been okay for them.
4838  Economy / Services / Re: Bitsler Signature & Avatar Campaign (2 open spots) on: November 22, 2019, 06:47:05 PM
I don't know what happened. Most of applicants don't read OP.
Knowing that Bitsler has been in a long time, there are a lot of things that happened during those times, like the change of payment rates, rules, flexibility, etc. The important thing is that the owner is a big part of it like before payments are sent, it goes through the owner. And maybe the owner still judges the applicants. Possibly.

Personally, OP has not been updated with optional payment gate (BTC address - legacy/segwit), so it is the best to stick with application form above.
I think it doesn't have a big impact on whether or not you would follow the format now. Look at the recently accepted application. There's no Bitsler name, it's just that yahoo62278 PMed and that was it. I think it's still the quality of the posts of the member and a huge part from Baryom.

I suggest sticking to not clogging the thread. (sorry for this, just my two cents)

4840  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the alternate plan - second option on: November 21, 2019, 09:41:28 AM
This would vary from case to case, imagine having to rely on someone that you don't know and we know that there is no official outcome that we can count on. That's the reality we live in today. It's going to be the case every time that there are unexpected things to happen in our world. One could destroy the reputation of anything once it is proven to be a disruptive thing. We can never expect it right now but as long as there are different opinions and views about the world, there would be different.

By those instance what will be the choice of selection. Over which cryptocurrencies you'll plan to move your investments. I personally haven't got much of holding, if something happens against prediction only way is to move towards stablecoins.

Saying that, will it be limited with regards to cryptocurrencies? I think there are other opportunities in other types of industries and different types of investment.
