Here is what Theymos says:

Specifically, you are not allowed to give people any incentive to post insubstantial posts in your threads. You can't offer to pay people who post their addresses, usernames, etc. You can do giveaways off-site and link to the giveaway page in a thread, but you can't give people any bonus for replying to your thread.
4822  Other / Meta / Re: Is this possible to know? on: December 15, 2019, 01:22:53 PM
You can check number of received merits in BPIP or Loyce.club.  Then it's easy to understand how that user has achieved that rank.

Example:
According to Loyce.club, you have received 290 merits until December 13, 2019. Also, according to your Merit summary, you have received 7 merits after December 13. So, you have received 297 merits totally. As, you have 307 merits, you have 10 airdropped merits.
You have ranked up from a member to a senior member.
4823  Other / Meta / Re: History of local boards on: December 14, 2019, 06:28:43 PM
I am sure there are still some errors in creation dates of local boards.
Given Ids, there is no doubt German board has been created after French board. Spanish board has been also created after French board.
Compare Ids of Polski and Greek boards. Their birthday in your list are 20/5/2013 and 30/5/2013 while their Ids are 142 and 120 respectively.
There should be some other errors too.
4824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to export private keys from MEW 5 now ? on: December 14, 2019, 06:03:17 PM
What happened with myetherwallet is a reminder for people who put all of their money on online wallet or web wallet. Not only about wallets for Ethereum and ERC20 tokens but also for the other crypto currency wallets. It is very risky when you depend totally on third party who fully control your funds.
There is no problem with Ethereums and tokens that had been deposited in Myetherwallet before. You can still access your wallet by your private keys.
Any way, I agree that having the private key is really needed.
4825  Other / Meta / Re: Do we need a separate sub board for Lightning wallets / nodes? on: December 13, 2019, 01:02:42 PM
This has been discussed before in June: Lightning Network board
And there's a few positive feedback from members but nothing from admin/mods.

One relevant reply from forum Staff: malevolent
Typically, new boards (child-boards) are created when there is adequate demand for them. Right now, I'm seeing five LN-related topics on the 1st page in Development & Technical Discussion, zero such topics on the 2nd page, four topics on the 3rd page, three on the 4th, and two on the 5th, and there are forty topics per every page. Post more LN-related content if you have something meaningful to say or ask, and in time a new child-board will be created.

I just checked "Development & Technical Discussion" board.
Currently, number of threads that are related to lightening network are even lower than the time malevolent had made that post. So, such a sub-board won't be created in the near future.
4826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How to export private keys from MEW 5 now ? on: December 13, 2019, 11:56:26 AM
Well, unfortunately, they give at once to the users the private key. You should print out when you are making a wallet and keep it into safe place. You can read further here the FAQ, https://kb.myetherwallet.com/en/private-keys-and-passwords/lost-private-key/. If you can still access your old MEW account, just create a new one and make it sure you save the private key and transfer all your assets into the new one.
The OP is referring to the new version of Myetherwallet where you can no longer create a wallet by private key. Now there are only three options. 1. MEWconnect, 2. By Keystore file, 3. By Mnemonic Phrase
4827  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀ROCKETPOT.io 🚀| Multiply Your Bitcoins✅ | Win the Jackpots 💰 | Launch Thread on: December 13, 2019, 10:14:53 AM
Is this new minimum bet qualify for the jackpot?
I just checked the jackpot, it seems that there were some big winners before you reduced the minimum bet because the Mega Jackpot is 0.155 only no.
As I remember it was more than 1btc on my last visit few weeks ago. Or the jackpot is also reduced due to the reduced min bet amount?
I just checked the website. You are right.
At time of making this post, the Mega jackpot is 0.180 BTC while the minimum Mega jackpot was 0.5 BTC before.

Here is what FAQ says on their website:
"When jackpots are won, they are re-seeded; The Mini Jackpot to 0.005 BTC, the Major Jackpot to 0.050 mBTC and the Mega Jackpot to 0.100 BTC."

So, they have changed the minimum jackpot from 0.5 BTC to 0.1 BTC.
4828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [CFNP] Educational giveaway | guess first Bitcoin Block in 2020 [9.5 mBTC] on: December 12, 2019, 11:08:56 PM
Latest projection: 607,431 (current block) + (22*144) = 610,599
So I need about a day of blockchain rewind due to a 51% attack to win. Or a large enough drop in Bitcoin price to make 5% of all miners pull the plug. I happily accept defeat over of those 2 scenarios Smiley
LoyceV, you have a big chance to win the competition. It might be better to say that you have the biggest chance of winning.
First block of December 13 (at CET) was just mined. The number was 607846.
The difference between first block of December 13 and first block of December 10 was 415. So, in these three days, 138.3 blocks has been mined per day on average.

If blocks are mined at a same rate in next 19 days:
First block of 2020= 607431+(22*138.3)= 610474

This block number will make you win the competition.
So you don't need a 51% attack. Wink
4829  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 12, 2019, 10:06:47 PM
The website says you've given away over 197,000 BTC (currently equivalent to about $1.4 billion). Likewise there are a total of 101 billion games played and almost 35 million members. That means on average, each user on the platform has earned 0.005 BTC.

Is this accurate? Every time the website refreshes, the countdown starts from the exact same numbers, which means it's either a complete fabrication, or its simply outdated?
I had never noticed this before. I just checked that. You are right. When you refresh the page, the number starts to increase from a lower amount. But I don't think there is a big problem. If you refresh the page after a longer time (e. g. 5 minutes), you will see that the number starts to increase from an amount which is bigger than the number it started to increase from in your previous refresh.

The reason is that the correct data are updated every X minutes. In other words, data are corrected every X minutes. If you refresh the page after X minutes, you will see different numbers.

I'm sorry, but it seems that your second sentence contradicts the first one. So, is there a difference between hitting 00000/10000 and any other number on FreeBitco.in?

On freebitco Yes.

I'm sorry, but it seems that your second sentence contradicts the first one. So, is there a difference between hitting 00000/10000 and any other number on FreeBitco.in?

I've been always thinking that there shouldn't be any, but some posters in this thread are claiming that there certainly is, considering the method of obtaining the numbers we see on our screen. And now I think, indeed we have two times less numbers which can be rounded to 00000 or 10000 than that for any other number.

For example, we can obtain 00001 by rounding anything from 00000.5 to 00001.49999999. But we can get 00000 only by rounding numbers from the interval [00000, 00000.49999999], and this interval is two times smaller than the previous one.

Am I right or am I missing something here?

You are completely right. That's how the outcome is determined on Freebitco.
I don't think the procedure of determining the outcome is similar in all the websites.

For example , In wolf.bet, the outcome is a number between 0 and 99.99.
There is no any rounding and the chance of hitting any of numbers are equal.

This is what I ave understood.
Someone correct me if I am wrong

As requested on this forum multiple times - we have now reduced the minimum bet from 0.25 mBTC to 0.01 mBTC!
I just checked the website. At the time of making this post, 7 users are playing at Rocketpot and all of them are betting more than 0.25 mBTC. I guess they are robots that don't even pay attention to minimum bet reduction.
Any way, reduction of minimum bet was a good decision made by Rocketpot.
There is no doubt more gamblers will be attracted gradually. Now you only need marketing.
Until yesterday (If I'm not wrong), Rocketpot banner was  shown below the first post of every page. So, obviously you are doing your best.

4832  Other / Meta / Re: Local Rule on thread on: December 12, 2019, 11:05:49 AM
I've created non-self moderated topics before where I needed to add a local rule to keep the thread clean. I reported a comment which was against the rule I set and it was deleted.

I have seen couple to threads where thread creator put a P.S type sentence where they ask some users not to reply on that thread & they point that as local rule of that thread.
I've also seen topics like that but the posts of those users the OP do not want weren't deleted. I guess local rule to ban certain users isn't acceptable.

I think the OP should be responsible for deleting the posts that are against the local rules. Moderators are only responsible for deleting posts that are against forum rules.
So, when you have local rules, you should create a self-moderated topic. Shouldn't waste moderators time on reading local rules in each topic.

By the way, generally, I am not in favor of creating a self-moderated topic. Because it can be abused to delete the posts that OP doesn't like.
4833  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 11, 2019, 09:01:48 PM
I wonder if anybody had that number and posted it before in this thread.
You can find many freebitco users that have rolled 9999 or 10000 in the following thread.

4834  Other / Meta / Re: do you think bounty hunters should be penalized?? on: December 11, 2019, 08:04:25 PM
I just reported your last post due to making multiple posts in a row (that will be deleted soon). So, it's obvious that you are not aware of forum rules.
Your other account has been banned due to breaking forum rules (most likely plagiarism)
As it is already said by other users, you won't be banned due to promoting a scam. Scammers themselves are not banned let alone those who are promoting them.

By the way, one of other rules that you are not aware of is about "ban evasion". You have made some posts outside "meta" board too.
4835  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 11, 2019, 04:39:36 PM
Each time you roll you are generating a decimal, not a whole number. There are over 4 billion possible decimal numbers you can generate and only 0.005% of those decimals can be rounded to 10000.
You are right. I corrected the calculations in my previous post regarding the chance if not hitting 10000 in 20000 rolls.

So, it's true then? Hitting any other number is twice as likely than hitting either 00000 or 10000?
Yes, that's because the possible outcomes are 0-10000. We have 10001 numbers. So, it's logical.

Does it mean that if a dice site allows you to choose which number to hunt for 9900x multiplier, it is better to choose any other number but 0.00 or 99.99? (Sorry if it's a stupid question, I'm a bit confused now).
I don't think there is any difference. Because there are exactly 10,000 numbers and the chance of hitting each of them is exactly 0.01%

I also wanted to post here to state that the issue I had with sportsbet has been solved and I have received apologies for the extra time it took to figure it out. No hard feelings.

Edit: Barcelona scored 23rd goal.

Congratulations @buwaytress

I am going with 41 goals. I don't want to predict on number of goals that has already been selected.
I know I have very little chance. But I am trying my luck.
Most probably a user with 20-25 goals will be the winner. But I am hopeful.
4838  Other / Meta / Re: Posts in my profile that I had not made on: December 10, 2019, 02:59:09 PM
I checked the IPs for last 30 days https://bitcointalk.org/myips.php . The IPs are from 3 different countries in last 30 days. The posts I mentioned were made before these 30 days though and I cannot check the IPs for those posts. I am almost sure though that I had not logged in the account on those days.

So, someone knows your password and can log in to your account but didn't have control over your email address.
Reset your password via your email and be safe.

Edit: I just noticed you have changed your password today. So, I don't think that person can access to your account anymore.

Edit 2: Both of those posts have been made in the last 30 days. (One post on December 1 and another one on November 30). So, why can't you check the IPs?
4839  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: December 10, 2019, 01:31:07 PM

Those numbers are off. The odds of rolling 10000 is 0.005000014790566641% or roughly 1 in 20,000 rolls.

The math is correct.
Those are the odds for hitting 10000 after 20000 "consecutive rolls".

If an infinite numbers of people roll 20000 times or they stop rolling when they hit 10000 than 86,4678250517240% of those people got 1 10000 roll.

The odds for hitting 10000 every roll is 1/10000 of course.

Absolutely. I was surprised seeing other numbers here. Winning $200 on free rolls is exactly as likely as hitting 0.00 or 99.99 on a dice site, it's 0.01% win chance. Only I don't think it matters whether the rolls are consecutive or not. IMO it doesn't change anything.

Also, no one should be surprised that after making 20,000 rolls he/she didn't hit it even once. This would be equivalent to 4 losses in a row with 50% win chance. Who would be surprised by that?

The chance of not hitting 10000 in 20,000 rolls is even higher than the chance of four losses in a row.

The chance of not hitting 10000 in 20,000 rolls:
0.9999^20000= 0.135 or 13.5%
0.99995^20000=0.37 or 37.5%

The chance of 4 consecutive losses in a game with 50% win chance:
(0.5)^4=0.0625 or 6.25%
4840  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin rank on CMC on: December 10, 2019, 12:49:52 PM
As per now, there are 4894 Crypto currencies and 20790 markets on CMC. Bitcoin is on the number one. But USDT is ranking up rapidly and now it’s number 4. Any possibility to get it over Bitcoin? I would be shocked if I see.
I highly doubt on that one where Tether would able to beat up BTC for the top spot if we do consider on the entire cap then we can say that it would still takes time and
a heavy adoption of Tether for it to reach up BTC cap level.

Im not saying it isnt possible but would really need extreme level of adoption and recognition of tether,if not then it would just remain as it is when it comes to rankings.
It might being hyped but wont really be enough.

as long as "top spot" translates into "bigger market cap" or in most cases "bigger supply", i don't think it would be that hard for any shitcoin to go above bitcoin and become "top". all it takes is an enormous supply with only 1% circulating and a tiny price.

but if you change the meaning of "top" to mean actually top considering value, adoption, utility, decentralization, security, price,... then non only it becomes impossible for them to be the "top coin" it also becomes impossible to even have 1/100 of bitcoin's rank.

The coins in coinmarketcap are ranked in order of their market capitalization which is price*circulating supply. So, it's not easy for any coin to be higher than bitcoin only with having a big supply.
What matters is their circulating supply not their total supply.
