It seems you are using a wallet with dex that have supported multichain or your btc is on tokenized smart contract of eth? Like wbtc?

Or if it does on separate on chain wallets then you have no choice but to add more funds. Gas fee now is very high and sometime it peak more. Better to add more or you'll end up being dissapoitned if your transaction got burnt when it failed during sending.

Last time Ive check is 3.39eth already have been consume for my gas fee on my wallet. Excluding other wallets I've used. On a certain aspect you got a point, I should find a staking platform that is fully decentralized, but of course even decentralized approach have been some experience of exploitation. So nothings safe actually, it's just a matter of choice what to do on our asset.

Thats why the good on staking are those stablecoins. I am staking sometime some stablecoin on Binance on their saving options.  5 to 6% APR is not bad and had no losses since the coin will not go down it price.
