Ah the fallback of the bear troll - you are just helping out those inexperienced bitcoiners from everyone else on this forum? I would compare you to Edward50 but we both know you will be long as hell if the price moves up from here Smiley

Oh, I'm not disagreeing with you.  Just the bit where Gox failed because of bad coding.
4843  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 17, 2014, 11:09:53 AM
BTW Bitstamp doesn't allow unverified accounts to trade at all, simply you cant trade you cant deposit and you cant withdraw before verifying, and if you had an account before the verification was required it just get blocked until you do so.
Am I the only one who thinks that this is fishy as hell?
Feel like Stamp is pulling a Mt. Gox soon.

You're saying that just because they don't wanna get in trouble with governments/banks, they have a coder whose completely incompetent?

Very interesting assumptions. You might wanna visit a therapist though

We all agree then--Gox honestly lost money due to bad coding; nothing shady happened.
Correct?

I have seen instances where a homeless man refuses a new pair of shoes because he knows they will make him the target of thieves.  The same can be said for receipt of cash.  A homeless man knows he should spend all of the money he gets from begging that same day on things that cannot be stolen, like food/drink to be immediately consumed.  Anything not immediately consumed will be stolen that night while he sleeps.  Cash will be stolen.  No bank will give an account to someone who is truly homeless.  Banks require a home address.

A homeless man can use a library computer and localbitcoins to turn cash into Bitcoin and actually build up savings.  Bitcoin is the answer for the unbanked.

A homeless man using a library computer...  to do what, exactly?
Let's say this quirky homeless guy has an online wallet.  Let's say he magically managed to fund it with coin.  Now what?

How does he spend it?  He can't even order shit online to be delivered to his cardboard box--no addy.  Mebby our homeless guy renting a PO box?

Do you ever think shit through?

^No, Robert.
If he has seen any value in what you had, he would dismount that ghastly motor scooter, and proceed to purposefully and repeatedly place his foot into positive and constructive contact with your face, until such negotiations netted him a more favorable deal.

Uh why aren't all the holes plugged with screws?

Margins?  Tongue

no the chip is about 9.1mm wide so it looks like screw mounts are spaced 19mm apart,
you dont need that many screws to insure the board mounts securely to the heat sink.
it's just a case of the board designer giving the mechanical designer more options.

The mechanical designer drilled the heatsink.  The screw spacing looks like granny's teeth--sometimes two in a row, sometimes over one.  So, more likely simply not finished?

I hope the stock market crashes... For the lulz
The aftermath won't be funny, even if you're not directly exposed.

No one said it would be pretty, and it's not a matter of if - but when.
Bring the reset on.

We can fester and mire around, dragging it out some more, or reboot and start rebuilding.
The sooner the better, IMO.

You realize that folks like you will prob'ly be the first to go, right?

there is no need for any confirmations for a can of spam, the transaction value is low enough, if you double spend you won't be buying from him again.

Obviously if you would have bought at 300.. you would have sold at 400+ :p

Depends on what you are investing in obviously...

Don't be ridiculous.  You might win, and you definitely can not lose, because "can't lose if you don't sell."
No matter how improbable the upside, there is no downside.
How many would you like then?

Bitcoin isn't a "get rich quick" scheme.

Somebody else said it first, but no, it's a "get rich slow" scheme.

For most who have "invested" in 2014, it's been a get poor quick scheme Undecided

Only if you have not invested when it was 300 recently. If you had, their would be 33% gain in a week... that's 1716% increase in a year!!!(hypothetically)

Yes, see boldface.  Re. ur maths: price now is 371, not 400.  Try again.

4853  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: October 16, 2014, 07:53:37 PM
Too many people think bitcoin should be at 10k by now.. Its a long term investment. The shoot up from 10 to 100 was a very bull market. the  move to over 1k was, well, fucking insane.. Like ive said many times, if your not a day trader, treat it like you would silver or gold, save it until you absolutely need it.  I had to sell some because I had to, luckily it was near the all time high, (total luck out), worked out well, because now I dont freak out too much when btc falls. I hear too many stories "I bought at 800 and im sick of this shit, im out" people like that should never be investing. they are thinking that btc will just keep skyrocketing upwards, nothing does that, not even rockets, lol..

Gold has a history going back to prehistory.  Bitcoin has been around for 5 years.  Suggesting that it should be treated like gold is not just irresponsible, it's cruel.
OTOH, if your intended meaning was "dump it like you should've dumped gold in 2011," then disregard.

...
Only loose when you sell at a crap price.

In that case, let me sell you some shares in my gold synthesis business.  It's a great deal, 'coz you can't lose!  Just never sell.
How many should I put you down for, friend?

I wish they would just dump all of those coins. I mean they obviously don't want them anymore and they obviously don't care how much they get for them either. So why not just give us some more "cheap" coins?

Go ahead, do it!

But why?  Slippage would be horrible.
Much better to do it slowly, letting you regain confidence & put up buys.
So we could sell into those.

How is constantly losing money interesting?  I mean, it's sorta fun to watch from the sidelines, but actually doing it?
Nevermind, not for me to judge, carry on.
