4841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: <POLL> What Kind of Bitcoiner are You? on: March 27, 2023, 07:43:06 AM
Someone like me can't have a single option convincingly opted for as I am in the categories of Maximalist and Investors Bitcoiners in this regard. Bitcoin has a lot of functions and ideology, so one category can't completely define it, and even the scope, functions and benefits of the coin are more than the listed options combined.
4842  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Do you think security is a prime feature to consider in payment getaways? on: March 27, 2023, 07:29:30 AM
Of course, the security of funds of anyone is the primary consideration when one is dealing with online funds, and Bitcoin has it covered for you as far as payment gateways are concerned. And even among the cryptocurrencies, it's the most private and secure, so the safety of your funds might be highly guaranteed if you are not careless on your path.

It has solved the problem of infestation by financial services employees where fund holders are their victims and has put an end to the overbearing practices of some fiats payment systems where they will unjustly block one account.

Paypal does this often, but Bitcoin protects you against such tyrannical companies.
4843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 26, 2023, 04:27:25 PM
It takes a survey of several users on the same site with the same case to draw conclusions from what you are experiencing. There is nothing to deceive and be deceived in this case. You play and lose, that's natural because in a game there are winners and losers.

When you play against the system, you need to use brain intelligence, if you are greedy and want to win big quickly, defeat will never be far from you. Start playing with the brain not with lust, if you can get a win from a small bet, have fun with a small bet, at least when you leave the casino you can still bring home money.
It is possible that the casino owner tuned up the chance of winning for people that use small amounts of money to gamble on the website, I have seen this happen before on a gambling website, this was a long time ago, and someone created a script that cheats the system, which works for weeks and was later detected and stopped, maybe OP is the first to be aware of this? Also it shows that the platform that OP is talking about has bad developers, such a thing shouldn't be happening, there should be some balancing in place.
not sure, but most casinos probably do that without users knowing, so have you ever found a lot of gamblers rich playing in casinos, I think you know the answer to that, I'm not going to say that casinos are cheating but we need to remember that anyone who gambles aware of course he already knows about this as well as the risks he has to face, so in my opinion whether the casino is cheating or we are being conned all have the same goal which is to get money. discussing this would only be a waste of time.
Casinos are certainly not cheating us, cheating is only when they are not fair with their mode of operation or terms and conditions of their services as claimed. I've seen some that don't make anything from casinos, and I have a few that are making regular money, but this can't be much to make them rich. So, I believe one should think of the experience around them to conclude if they want to gamble or not, and also established the reason for gambling.

As an adult, any conclusion they reach should be void of complaints.
4844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 26, 2023, 02:21:52 PM
We didn't have it wrong sacking Thomas Tuchel but maybe hiring Graham Potter was when we got everything wrong.

Yes, unfortunately they chose a coach who I think is worse than Thomas Tuchel. It seems that potter can't take advantage of many good players. Potter seems confused because he has a huge spending fund, but cannot choose players according to his strategy. While Brighton currently also looks unapologetic about releasing Potter. Right now they're even better. They managed to surprise me because they could be in the top ten of the EPL at the moment.
I see things differently, it was a very big mistake for Chelsea to have sacked Thomas Tuchel, now, has the miracle been done? I could read from the news then that some coaches were even surprised by the sacking because the guy was doing his job and trying to fix things. At times, good results could pause as the club has issues of its own, just like what Man U faced some years back and people now thought Erik Ten Hag is the saviour.

Many hands could not fix it at once because it's a gradual process, more time would have been, and not changing coaches anyhow would make it better. Now, FC Bayern has appointed him, I'm sure they can't do that for a dullard.
4845  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk and the fall of Twitter on: March 26, 2023, 01:59:51 PM
Well said, my friend, you actually said my mind. Elon Musk thought it was business as usual thinking he can venture into anything and get it done better. Well, the Twitter purchase has put him on the wrong note, even the Tesla shares dropped so significantly. You see, if someone is touching almost everything and such things become successful, they see themselves as one demigod.

But not in all cases, social media is a different space entirely, especially when you are doing things that are anti-social media itself. He thought he can monetize everything better, but it boomerangs.
4846  Economy / Gambling / Re: Kryptogamers Hive No KYC Casino on: March 26, 2023, 01:45:32 PM
Of course, no website is completely immune from hacking, am only disappointed that you guys are taking this as an excuse instead of looking elsewhere to the benefits of KYC.

If a website is new, my dear, you are talking 50/50 chance with them if they are without KYC. Because without it, it means they are not regulated. But you have higher rest of mind if they are truly regulated.
Excuse? Nonsense. 50/50 chance without KYC? More nonsense. I already specifically mentioned in my previous post that I have been gambling at several popular sites without providing KYC at any stage.

Also, no KYC requirement and features such as great offers, great customer support etc are what truly make crypto gambling sites popular. Think!
True,  KYC requirement doesn't guaranteed any form of regulation of any online casinos, there is no way a gambling platform will prove to users that they are regulated, many scam projects have stolen users KYC information and they don't know it, these criminals have other use for peoples identity.

At first, I always thought that KYC is the answer, the answer to fraud and other bullshits from platforms, later I found out that KYC requirement could be an idea to scare some people off after they win some money or they have other use for the information they acquired from people.

Kyc can disguise himself in many ways, but obviously this came from a requirement of governments or government entities and it is something that he does not like to walk, however we as players sometimes understand that not even Casinio himself is to blame for things how the kyc is implemented, the licenses, the permits, everything requires documentation, and sometimes the jkyc disguises it by saying that it is a security measure so that at the time of a possible hack they can recover the person's funds, that is something that I don't conceive, because in crypto there should never be kyc, that goes against the natural laws of crypto.
This a typical example of why I believe people don't know the reason for KYC as I've read many kicking against it simply because they lie it could protect them from hacking. Who is saying KYC will protect anyone from hacking? it's your cyber security that will do that for you. What KYC does is to be sure that the person holding the account is what he says he is. And this is in turn creating a better society for us to the advantage of the gambler, the company and the government for security and accountability.

Only insensitive and selfish people that don't mean well for the society would kick against KYC.

Of course, no website is completely immune from hacking, am only disappointed that you guys are taking this as an excuse instead of looking elsewhere to the benefits of KYC.

KYC in crypto casinos is still the pros and cons to date. Indeed, the natural law of crypto is anonymous or it is not clear who owns it, but if I look at some of the cases that have occurred, I consider all of these problems.
indeed casinos shouldn't require KYC for their customers considering crypto is so anonymous. but if the casino doesn't ask for KYC, how can the casino detect customers using money laundering?
on the other hand licensed casinos already have agreements with licensing companies to require KYC from every customer.
It's true that the issue has pros and cons, but you got it wrong by saying casinos must not ask for KYC due to the anonymity of crypto. First, it's not all cryptos transactions that are anonymous, and casinos are companies, not crypto itself, they are only using the crypto as a payment system.

In a sane world, all their activities must be accounted for as a company to avoid illicit flows, so that argument is invalid. Crypto will always act as online money, but the activities of those using it as a payment system for deposit and withdrawal should be regulated.
4847  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: fellas be careful from this kind of scams! - READ on: March 26, 2023, 01:30:32 PM
I know the thread and I had a second thoughts about it when the guy posted such a huge amount ($225k) and later come back to say that the issue has been solved. He couldn't even show us anything as proof of the issue and the money received. There is a need to be careful about such.

However, I will blame those that will fall for such a scam vice in this 21st century, it is too good to be true. And if a casino is worth trying at all with such a big money display, such must be popular and should be well researched about.
4848  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this making any sense or a misunderstanding on: March 25, 2023, 01:11:14 PM
Are some Bitcoin wallet address more friendly to transaction fee than the other or I am the one that is not getting things right? I noticed that address that Start with b use fewer transaction fee than one that starts with 1, or there is more to this transaction of a thing that I still need to learn more about?
I've been a victim of wallet addresses before I learned this, to the point of paying over $3 for a single Bitcoin transaction in the past. First, you need to know that there are custodial and noncustodial wallets, the former set the price you would use, and it will be with their fee+miner's fee, so you will pay more. While the latter will allow you to pay the miner's fee alone.

And the address starting with b might be right if they are Segwit addresses, as in bc1..., they could save you about 16% of the fee. But you have to consider the Mempool while doing the transaction too.
4849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quoting sales prices in Bitcoin on: March 25, 2023, 12:33:34 PM
Yesterday I had an enquiry for the sale of one of my domain names, and I've provided a Bitcoin alternative to a Sterling price. I quoted £15,000 or 0.5 Bitcoin. Bitcoin is currently quoted at around £22,500, so the Bitcoin option is quite a bit cheaper. I decided to do this for 2 reasons. One is that I don't care about the volatility of Bitcoin, as I will save the proceeds ( if it sells ) rather than exchange it for Fiat. The other reason is that my belief is that Bitcoin is at the start of a slow bull run. This means that I will soon recover the difference if my opinion is correct.
From a business view, I don't think you have a good justification for reducing your money in BTC except if you are trying to attract buyers through the privacy of Bitcoin. Short-paying yourself with over $1000 is not a good bargain as far as am concerned, and regardless of whether you will gain through the coin or not, your money is your money, you would have rather gained more or even withdrawn the excess and hold the rest for further planning.

Nonetheless, if the transaction would be made soonest, then you might have bought the coin at the peak, so it might fall before rising again.
4850  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: March 25, 2023, 11:00:11 AM
Here's my prediction about the match Manchester City vs Liverpool, I'm really sure Manchester City will beat Liverpool easily because:
1. The match will happen on Manchester City's home.
2. A lot good Liverpool's players are currently injured: Gakpo, Nunez, Alcantara, and Henderson. Klopp will let Firmino, Jota and Salah to play, as we know both Jota and Firmino were never played for 90 minutes full.
3. Haaland is injured, but it doesn't mean the other Manchester City's strikers are bad, Grealish, Foden and Mahrez were having good performance.

The huge margins won by Liverpool doesn't convince me to say Liverpool is really that good, it's just an one match.
The condition of the Liverpool team is not very good. Because the Champions League exits very badly. Later, the team could not do very well in the rest of the matches. But Liverpool team has very good players, if the coach of the team can figure out some good strategy then I think the team will come back again.
The problem of Liverpool is still within the club itself, I guess their morale is low, nothing else. There might be a little adjustment needed though and Klopp is certainly doing a brilliant job as far as I know. They've improved noticeably in the EPL, and for them to have reached this stage with the UCL means that they tried with their poor performance this season.

There is room for improvement, so let us give them more benefits of the doubt between now and next season as this season is almost over. And I hope they make the champions league qualifier.
4851  Economy / Gambling / Re: How succesful will AI projects be to win the house? on: March 24, 2023, 02:17:28 PM
The AI bot prediction accuracy depends on the amount of data you give to it. For example, for a football match, the more it knows about the competing teams, the more accurate its prediction will be.
However, there is two other important factors you have to consider which make it hard to beat the house. The first one is the luck factor. The second one is how resourceful the bookies are. They certainly have more data than you so they can get better results and so they will adjust the odds on their favor.
By gambling, I believe the OP mainly means casino, not sportsbook, and it will be so difficult for AI to beat the house in this category. If it were to be with the sportsbooks, the games and predictions are all fair and could be witnessed by all, unlike casinos that have some internal manipulations you might not know. This will certainly confuse the AI as they want and no one should blame it on casino bettings that have some internal dealing to favour the house.

For sports betting to be precise, I believe it will work so well because it will know everything about the team and the players, and be able to give good judgement/predictions about them.
4852  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Drinking Game sold using Crypto on: March 24, 2023, 10:12:06 AM
This is a good development, but you must be certain of the ups and down of accepting crypto as a payment system. Based on what I experienced, please do not use a third-party actor, they will ruin your business by extorting your customers with high charges.

Just this week, I was charged approximately $5 for paying $122.57 for a service, which is ridiculous and so discouraging. Therefore, you might use a popular exchange or wallet for the transaction, and many of your clients might be using it too, so the transaction will be direct, internal and free.
For bitcoin, ether and ERC20 tokens payment, exchanges would also charge high fee. There are many customers that will not be using the exchange that you are using. That is also not the direction to look towards, looking towards payment is better than thinking of using what is centralized. Customers can decide to make payment from a noncustodial wallet or from another exchange.

Businesses are using payment processor like https://btcpayserver.org/ that Potato Chips mentions. There are many of them if you need alternatives which Maus0728 mentioned. I do not know the cost to setup a payment processor, but they are very important in businesses for customers to make payment. Your customers can use it to make transaction from any wallet or exchange of their choice and no charges on their side. They can even automatically be converting the crypto to fiat for you.
With this, I could only say that you don't even know what you replied to. Custodial wallets, whether an exchange or not often let you send coins for free within their network, which was what I pointed to in my reply. Maybe you did not read it to understand. And I added that such must be popular to increase the chance of OP's customers using the same to enable free transactions for some of them. I've used this on some custodial wallets and Binance (exchange) to third parties for free, so I know what I wrote.

As for your suggestion on the payment processors, they are the most convenient, but maybe you don't use them, I do weekly, and I will always discourage a small/startup business to use them because they will not grow due to high charges. They extort customers because they set the price and fee which is beyond the control of the seller. This discourages buying and selling through cryptos as experience people will prefer fiat in such cases (if there is an option for it) to crypto in which they will pay more.

I wrote based on my conclusion after weighing all options, and it remains that direct payment is best for retail businesses if they are fairer to their customer than the third-party actors (B2B).
4853  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: March 24, 2023, 08:45:30 AM
Barcelona are by far the best in La Liga in all aspects. And since Barcelona managed to defeat Real Madrid in El Clasico, Barcelona are one of the best title contenders ever. Barcelona will never want to miss out on the La Liga title despite performing so well.
the league is not obtained by just 1 or two matches. Barca performed consistently very well throughout the season. they lost their focus for a while, but Xavi noticed and they fixed it quickly.
Madrid lost the momentum to catch up, and now Barca will focus on La Liga, and Madrid will focus on the Champions League. Xavi has made an extraordinary achievement this season.
Indeed, there was an opportunity for Real Madrid to catch up on points, but they could not take advantage of it properly and Barcelona returned to momentum to continue their winning trend. The two teams now each have their own focus on the competition they are considered capable of achieving so far and that's pretty good considering that the competition between the two is now at the right point.
You should just forget about Real Madrid meeting up or as a viable contender against Barcelona this season, they've missed the chance and that did not just happen. The present 12 points gap is another consideration in this regard when the league is already ending, so what? Do you think Barcelona will be looking and get themselves won in 4 matches? Definitely not possible with their present squad and displayed determination into winning the league.

Their last match against Real Madir is deserving too, though the two sides were great.

4854  Economy / Economics / Re: Why didn't the fed buy back SVB's bonds? on: March 24, 2023, 07:22:46 AM
In banking and economics, there are ways to approach situations, this might be what FED sees as best with the economic reality. As we all know, inflation is getting higher, which is forcing the FED to raise the Federal Funds Rate. And naturally, bonds will be devalued in the process, which will not be proper for the government to buy back bonds to avoid altering the hiking purpose. They (FED) consider the total supply of money, in which buying is only advisable when the FED is reducing the interest rate.

In other words, there will be an imbalance of the equation if FED buys back the SVB bonds.
4855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you feel bad while paying with BTC? on: March 24, 2023, 06:56:56 AM
I understand your feeling and it's good since you might be careful, sensitive and know the value of Bitcoin as an asset. Well, this shouldn't still stop you from spending your coin as it's not only about investment. Just be sure that you have a sizable amount still left in your wallet for the investment, you should not deprive yourself of good things in life because of it.

That said, you need to be patient and speculative, this is by knowing when Bitcoin is on the beraish trend. Spending it at that time will never be an issue, you can as well replenish back your coin when it's becoming bullish again.

Hey guys, I've created a drinking game called Skal (skaldrinkinggame.com) and I'm using crypto.com as a payment gateway. For all people with experience buying/selling using cryptocurrency, what is the best platform that is usually used in ecommerce websites? Thanks.
This is a good development, but you must be certain of the ups and down of accepting crypto as a payment system. Based on what I experienced, please do not use a third-party actor, they will ruin your business by extorting your customers with high charges.

You can afterwards move it to a more secure wallet if you want.
4857  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade up capital: $200 on: March 24, 2023, 06:16:16 AM
First, I believe you and your fine are one, there should not be any interference, and the agreement and transparency between you two about the money are crucial and final.

However, you should be aware that trading is so risky, and if you are new, it's about 99% sure you will lose that money. Also by your expression, it's clear that you know little or nothing about trading, so the risk is high and it will pain your wife if you lose the money.

Why not invest it in holding Bitcoin when the price drops? Investments like that attract lesser risk than trading.
4858  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is an asset. on: March 23, 2023, 04:16:53 PM
Bitcoin is undoubtedly an asset, only that it's a virtual kind of asset. Anything that has value and could be owned is an asset, which makes Bitcoin one of them. And for it to have a value of about $28,000 and be listed in the world's electronic trading means that it's a high-value asset that is tradable.

It's you that should plan your investment in this asset very well and will always be making money. Even if you do not know much about Bitcoin and trading generally, just be sure that you learn how to read the peaks and bottoms of the asset.

Then invest when it's always at the lower levels to maximize your profits.
4859  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: March 23, 2023, 08:39:01 AM
. Many of my friends gamble.  And asks me about gambling sites.  But I never give them my referral link from the casino I use.  Because I am not very interested in getting referral commission.  Because I don't think I can get much out of it
that is so wrong mate , why deny yourself from gaining even if it is small money since your friends are directly asking you about the site to gamble?

you are also denying yourself from getting a chance to make your friend find a site that is safe to play since you refer it to them.

referral can be a sideline to earn and if this is  knocking on your door? then please get the opportunity because you are lucky in having asked by a friend and no need to lure them to use your referral.
I got to know the referral program many years ago and I've made money from it, though I've never referred anyone to a gambling site, maybe because I am not serious about gambling, just doing it for fun. But I will always encourage anyhow that has the opportunity to grab it as it's free money, and it could be much if the offer of the gambling company is high.

A friend shouldn't unnecessarily disturb you for your referral codes and you say no, it's unwise. Because if they go of their own volition, then it means that the person will totally lose while the gambling company takes the whole percentage.
4860  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: FOMC Press Conference and effect on bitcoin on: March 23, 2023, 08:23:01 AM
Bitcoin sold sharply after the FOMC meetings of yesterday. The Federal Funds Rate was hiked to 5.00% which represents an additional 25 basis points and also an indication that inflation is seriously battling the economy of the US.

That said, I've explained to those that reached out to me after the sharp fall that Bitcoin will not fall for long. The market was only confused in the wake of that news, which coupled with the needed correction of the coin.

However, the effect can't see the light of day, the sentiment of Bitcoin is still bullish as most economic considerations disfavour the USD at this present time.
