4841  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin's Next Major Move - Crypto Market Analysis on: August 08, 2020, 10:37:12 PM

Anyone could be right with their predictions, it only matter of when will It going to happen.
If you look back at the price movement during that time, Btc has been stabilizing at around the region of $9,000. Everybody was predicting ones it breaks the $10,000 resistance again, a potential rally will occur up to $15,000 in a gradual motion.
Nevertheless, predictions remains prediction, when your prediction eventually happened that doesn't automatically mean your right specially when there no estimated date specified, because predictions like this is logically bound to happen.
And that is why everyone can really make their own prediction and if it a hit, then they can call themselves experts, LMAO. I'm not against TA, but most of the time, those who claim to really know to read graphs are just simply trying to make a line and connect the dots and make a prediction to fit their narratives. And obviously, our next prediction should be the price could really go up, by looking at the current sentiments of investors because we are in a bull market already.
4842  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Nigeria Becomes Fastest Growing Crypto Market In The World on: August 08, 2020, 10:22:19 PM
And this is why Jack Dorsey has been eyeing Africa for years now because he knows that something is cooking on that continent and wanted to get his feet first. And so is Binance and other big companies as well. So I wouldn't be surprised that in the next 5 years, Africa could be the fastest growing crypto market as the potential is really there. It's just a question on Africa's infrastructure that could delay this massive growth.
4843  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Classic Second Attack $1.68M Out on: August 08, 2020, 10:06:31 PM
ETC has been plague with history of 51% attack and I don't know how the devs are not working to fix it. And I think they should have learned from this attack and should have done something to prevent it. But no one cares, so the attackers did it again the second time to double spend and create another chain. Good thing that the price hasn't been affected negatively, but still if I'm a ETC investors, I will have doubts and probably move out my coins.
4844  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Grayscale: Net Assets Under Management, $5.7 billion on: August 08, 2020, 12:51:25 PM
One thing that I notice though, and I don't know if this is correct or not is that they are buying bitcoin but selling it at a premium price? Please correct me if I'm wrong with my interpretation here. And I was also under the impression that it is going to be lock for 1 year but as @Bitcoin_bullish mentioned, this has change to 6 months.
4845  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Trust Wallet Fake Giveaway on: August 07, 2020, 08:31:17 PM
Thank you, giving out your 12 seed mnemonic phrase is the worst thing that you are going to do in crypto sphere. And if you have been long enough, you will realized that you don't have to reveal your seed to anyone unless you are really really sure about it. And just by the looks for the website, I wouldn't trust it all.
4846  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Russia’s Biggest Bank Considers Launching Its Own Stablecoin on: August 07, 2020, 02:33:09 PM
russia also banning any crypto transaction, this is a very confused country.
I would say that everyone should take a bag of salt everything that Russia is saying. So just because Putin sign some law will mean that Russia will be open or friendly to crypto. On the contrary this stable coins from Russian bank will just make it worst for crypto enthusiast as they can easily be track, and I will assume that there are heavy taxes levy on this one.

So I don't consider this a positive news, to be honest. There's more to it, if government or banks are going to start with their own CBDC.
4847  Economy / Trading Discussion / Grayscale: Net Assets Under Management, $5.7 billion on: August 07, 2020, 01:27:01 PM
As per their official tweet,

https://twitter.com/Grayscale/status/1291476478358560768

Maybe this is another bullish indicator? And it seems that Grayscale is leading or has become the authority as far as crypto investing and asset management with this numbers.
4848  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Lomachenko vs. Teofimo Lopez Lightweight Unification fight on: August 07, 2020, 12:52:12 PM
Maybe he realized that Loma is gonna nail him, so he want a big paycheck as this could be his last fight.
LMAO, Lopez knows that he will be humiliated or no mass... It's okay if he gets knocked out cold, but the terror from Loma is more about humiliation, which will affect the marketing in the long term.

Probably 70-30 or 65-35 would do.

Lopez here should not demand that high, if Manny Pacquiao a superstar in boxing got only 40% share of their fight with Mayweather, I think Lopez here should only get 40% below. That's enough already, depending on the outcome of the fight, I think it can still give him a good payday. He should not be greedy, he is not the favorites, he should not demand.
Not only that, but the opportunity is already here, why wasted and asked for more money when you are not the superstar, or as what we term, the B-side. 70-30 split will be find, if he gets knock out or being toyed around by Lomachenko then it's fine, at least you get a cool million for doing that.

Lopez is still young and maybe that's why he thinks that he is in top of the division, when clearly Loma has been dominating and has far faces better opposition.
4849  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what new coins are promising? on: August 07, 2020, 12:32:25 PM
I wouldn't call them promising if they are just going to be used for pump-and-dump scheme. Others said, Defi, I would agree, but still there are risk involved. I won't shill either, you might blame me if that coins suddenly falters. Why not choose amongst the top 2-20 coins right now? Right now the market looks very good, some of them are making significant gains but still far from their ATH though. So there are a lot of room to make profits if we see a massive bullrun just like 2017.
4850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 US Congressman wrote to IRS to ease tax on POS rewards on: August 07, 2020, 12:20:50 PM
There are really a lot of questions here, but we all know that these kind of requests are not being granted by IRS or any agencies of US government so I doubt that there's something that will came out with this letter.
I don't. How do you know it won't be granted by the IRS?

Last year, there were 8 congressmen who urged IRS to issue guidelines for for taxpayers who use cryptocurrencies and it was granted. They also asked treatment for hardforks and airdrops.
Quote
We wrote in April of this year urging the issuance of guidance for taxpayers who use cryptocurrencies and we are pleased to see that you have issued guidance and addressed many questions we posed. We are, however, concerned that this recent guidance creates many new questions related to the topics it seeks to address, namely forks and airdrops.

I wouldn't shut down the possibility given that the IRS is also paying attention to them. Maybe there will be revisions and IRS will come up with their own version but I wouldn't consider that as "request not being granted".
We can't really compare the circumstance, the IRS did issue the guidelines, but the request now is that they have to overhaul or readjust their tax 'treatment', and it could take some time, because there could be some process behind and not just rewrite and change it in an instance just because those congressmen ask them to do so.
4851  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: best place to find new low cap projects? on: August 06, 2020, 11:35:35 PM
Hi buddies, wife and i are interesting in doing some fundamental analysis for very new/low cap coins with potential in the upcoming months. Apart from bitcointalk and reddit, are there any websites you recommend for finding these moonshots?
As others have said, it is really very hard to find this gems, unless you became a member of what we call pump and dump groups, but it is not recommended. Maybe you can search Youtube, but you also need to be careful.

Aditionally, i have been looking for a nice short (5-20 mins episodes) podcast with multiple updates per week regarding crypto news, new projects and so on. The one i used to follow seems to be gone. Any tips?
I guess you need to do the hard work then, maybe you can create your own youtube channel and then we're going to follow you? Be an authority and who knows, maybe you can make some extra money by doing this.
4852  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why only Bitvest and 777Coin on: August 06, 2020, 11:07:38 PM
I roam around this forum although I seldom post and I notice that Bitvest and 777Coin upon checking are the two signature campaigns in the gambling industry with the longest campaign and with so many participants.

= Are they the only gambling sites that really make a profit from gambling
No.

= Why other campaigns only last 2 to 5 weeks why they cannot sustain
I guess when they have gotten some players already then they stop their campaign.
Or on the other hand, signature campaigns are not successful, hence they stop and look for other ways to promote their site.

= How can Bitvest and 777Coin sustain the campaign
Their payment is not. competitive to be honest, nothing against them, but obviously, if you pay little then you can sustain your campaigns for many years.
4853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 4 US Congressman wrote to IRS to ease tax on POS rewards on: August 06, 2020, 10:35:22 PM
There are really a lot of questions here, but we all know that these kind of requests are not being granted by IRS or any agencies of US government so I doubt that there's something that will came out with this letter. But I would agree, I have the same thoughts on why or what are the real intentions behind from these congressmen, why is something in POS that push them to write this letter in behalf of this type of consensus algorithm, is Vitalik behind all of this? hmm?. What incentives does this congressmen get in return?
4854  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Ethereum Foundation ETH2, The Biggest Update For Etherum | From PoW To PoS on: August 05, 2020, 07:35:10 AM
I never learn about ethereum 2.0, and I believe an upgrade from POW to POS will make ethereum be better and have many features

I just want to know, is ethereum 2.0 will bring a solution for fee?? Because the fee of ethereum is so high
I dont know how this will work out but I do hope for the best to happen with Ethereum, honestly speaking eth should be trading at 1000$ by now because it's the second best after Bitcoin, now that the POW Hash is going off the rail I hope POS suits ETH very well, hopefully.
Why don't you wait for it to happen though? It's not that it can go on a massive price speak and reaches $1000k right after the POS or Eth2.0 upgrade. Even bitcoin doesn't go on like that after the halving. It will take some time for the market to mature first and of course the eventual bull run before we can see ETH at 4 digits again. We still have a lot of legroom to work at this point and overcome lots of obstacles for it to be successful.
4855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitfinex hacks BTC are on the moved on: August 05, 2020, 07:03:46 AM
Does it mean that the thief moved the whole coins into only one wallet? Is it? It is so crucial and also suspicious, isn't it? If they are the real thief, they should not do that thing because everybody can then check the transactions. They can now where the transaction is ended. That is why they can be trapped, chased, or even arrested because of that. Do they really act that kind of harmful? Well, it may be strange. but if the transaction is really from the thieves although it was from several years ago, it should be fixed and found for a better situation.
They've used a lot of wallets to transfer and mislead investigators that time, but since every transaction is recorded, they can still be followed even after so many years. And now it seems that Bitfinex is offering a bounty:

Up to US$400 Million Reward for Return of Stolen 2016 Bitcoin

Quote
Bitfinex is offering a reward to any persons that connect us with hackers responsible for the unauthorized transfer of almost 120,000 bitcoins from the exchange in August 2016. As part of the same initiative, Bitfinex is also offering a reward to the hackers themselves for the return of the stolen property. This incident is a dark chapter in our exchange's history, and we are pleased to offer this reward as further evidence of our determination to obtain the lost property.

Early in the morning on August 2, 2016, hackers breached the security systems of our exchange. As a result, 2072 unauthorised transactions were broadcast on the Bitcoin network, involving 119,755 bitcoins in aggregate. We have learned valuable lessons from this painful episode, addressing the security issues and vulnerabilities associated with the theft.

Today's announcement of a reward is our latest effort to recover these stolen funds. Those who put Bitfinex in contact with the hacker will receive 5% of the total property recovered (or equivalent funds or assets at current market values), and the hackers will receive 25% of the total property recovered (or equivalent funds or assets at current market values). Any payments made to those connecting Bitfinex with the hackers and the hackers themselves will be classified as costs of recovery of the stolen property.

The aggregate rewards available under this programme could be worth up to approximately US$400 million at the current BTC price if all bitcoins are fully recovered. The bitcoins stolen minus recoveries in 2019 are worth $1.344 billion today, with 30 per cent of that amount equal to $403,288,427.

In order to confirm the identity of the hackers, we will request that 1 Satoshi is sent from the wallet address responsible for the hack to a wallet address specified by Bitfinex. We will work to ensure this can be done safely, thereby protecting the identities of all parties, and Bitfinex reserves the right to impose conditions on any transfers in order to verify claims and ensure a secure process.

As the recent hacking incidents at Twitter and Ledger demonstrate, this type of crime continues to be a threat for all businesses in the digital asset space and the wider technology sphere. No-one in our community can afford to be complacent about the ingenuity of criminal gangs to perpetuate new types of fraud.

Bitfinex has made security the overriding, number one priority of the exchange. As an exchange, we know we owe our success to a customer base that has loyally supported us through good and bad times. In the aftermath of the 2016 security breach, the exchange provided BFX tokens to all affected users. Each token represented $1 of losses. Those BFX tokens started trading on Bitfinex at less than $0.20, and gradually increased in value to almost $1. Monthly redemptions began on September 1, 2016, and the last BFX token was redeemed at the beginning of April 2017. More than 52 million BFX tokens were converted to shares of iFinex Inc. at 1:1 tokens to shares.

We have continued to work with law enforcement agents in investigating the 2016 security breach. In February 2019, U.S. authorities recovered 27.66270285 bitcoins stolen in the 2016 hack, which were converted to U.S. dollars and paid to RRT (Recovery Right Token) Holders.

Those with information relating to the 2016 hack at Bitfinex can contact us at: @bitfinex2016 via keybase.

Now, the game continues, that bounty is really f**ing good for hunters to pursue this hackers, bring out your popcorn guys, we will see how this is going to end.
4856  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Voters’ Data on Sale After Blockchain Poll on: August 05, 2020, 06:35:48 AM
I guess this is just part of the evolving technology, it's pretty new still so there is a lot of loopholes that hackers can simply breach any time. So I would say give it a time to mature, as it goes, maybe those gaps in the security can be patch, no system is perfect. With that said, maybe we can see in a future a blockchain that better design because of the said attacks. Sometimes it's good to have this as it can vastly improved as time goes by.
4857  Economy / Reputation / Re: is it just me? on: August 04, 2020, 06:49:45 PM
or are there an awful lot of Russian gamblers getting "scammed" by sportsbet so recent .
so many popping up all of a sudden really makes me wonder
Don't play the race card though, doesn't sounds right. Maybe it's just a coincidence, but we can't really say for certain that Sportsbet or any other online gambling site are "selectively scamming Russian" gamblers.
4858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr. vs. Danny Garcia IBF & WBC Welterweight Title on: August 04, 2020, 06:27:17 PM
Danny Garcia is a beast too, it's definitely not an easy fight to come back to after suffering a wreck.

I personally think Spence should have taken an easy tune-up fight or too just to get the rust off. Going up against Garcia after such a long layoff and after recovering from an accident just isn't a great idea.
Good, because that's what my thought is as well, why the hell will Spence choose Danny Garcia for a comeback fight? He should take it lightly for his return bout because he might not be the same fighter after that incident. There are reports that he losses all his teeth in that accident, so it must have been severe accident as everyone might think initially. Yes, and the ring rust as well could be a factor too. If Spence loss here, then this is a sign that the incident might have a bad effect on him, physically and mentally.
4859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do new projects know about this situation some years ago? on: August 04, 2020, 06:07:28 PM
We are in the DeFi projects session, right? I'm very curious to know how new projects realize that this is the time for DeFi projects. One legit project can build a coin in a few days. So many projects have focused on the DeFi system. My question is, are these projects legit or is it just a plan to grab the investors' money on this DeFi hype?
This is a free market, no one really knows if this project are legit or not. They could be running ponzi schemes like hiding in those Defi, or they are truly the next big hype around crypto. But if we are going to compare them to the boom that what ICO in 2017, there are a lot of similarities, just a boom and bust cycle. So until the next  hype comes along, Defi will be here to stay to grab investors money or could be a scam.
4860  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Protect Your Account on: August 04, 2020, 05:23:18 PM
I have practice to hide my email here since day one because I know it could be a vector of attack sometime. Those with  bad intent some scrape emails here and then try to hack it. I think this is one method that's why there is a rampant attacks way back in 2017 wherein we hear a lot of accounts being hack very easily.

I already informed our campaign manager about this incident since BitcoinGirl.Club and I are both in the same campaign.
