4861  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Weekly Update: Is the BTC bear market over? on: January 14, 2020, 05:32:07 AM
Latest weekly update is now live here:

https://www.cryptoadvocate.net/post/bitcoin-weekly-update-01-12-2020

Worth a read, but main takeaway is that spot and margin exchanges are telling different stories which paints a conflicting picture. Until $8,500 is gained on a closing basis, can't rule Bitcoin as out of the woods but as long as $7,700 holds on a closing basis I'm favoring longs into the halving.

@cryptoadvocate bitcoin prices have crossed $8500 on preev, and it seems that the bulls are slowly and steadily coming back to the crypto market and this time I sincerely hope they stay for a long time. It’s pertinent to note that in my personal opinion I feel that bitcoin prices will reach $10k by the end of February what do you’ll think of my prediction?.

1st day of this new week and we do have some new faces.

@milewilda yea there’re some new faces but our popular whale aka hdf is not there, it seems like he’s taking a break and I’m hoping that he comes back soon and amazes us with his big bets.

It is interested to see that when one question is answered there is quickly put new unrelated question. Such a concern.
CSNO token price is set by the market. Demand and supply. Yes price for sure is influenced by how profitable casino is since token have dividends. And since there were delays with development that profit is not optimal. Lets all hope for the best in the future. 2020 and 2021 should bring more interest for crypto, so also for CSNO and this forum. Hopefully Bitdice will be ready for it.

I shall not argue anymore with those who jump from topic to another like that.

@BoXXoB first they were repeating the same questions again and again and now this, hence I’ll agree with you no point in arguing with them.
4863  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't be a victim of second scam. on: January 13, 2020, 05:24:06 PM
Occasionally I have seen some people got scam multiple times. There is some fund recovery website and users who will promise you to get back your scammed fund. Had you heard about such as platform previously? If not then you may notice from this thread. It's just an example and there is more such as platform, they would give you fake promises.

Just remind you again, always keep in mind that "crypto-currency is irreversible" any organisations can't help you to get back your fund. If you were scammed from gambling or whatever sites, just share with community so everyone would able to avoid. But don't hire so called fund recovery services to get back your scammed amount. They will demand a percentage of scammed amount. If in case you paid then most likely you got second scam.

Suddenly its came in to my mind and wonder to share with community. Since most of newbies are not aware about such as scam that's why chosen this board. I believe everyone got my point. There is few accusation about such as scam (can't remember now). So guys please be aware from such as offer.

@coolcryptovator I have been scammed out here and from my personal experience I can say that I too would have attempted to do everything to get my funds back, but at the same time I would not have forgotten the common lessons regarding crypto’s i.e. once funds are gone they’re irreversible and they cannot come back. Also it’s pointless to discuss about him because he won’t stop making posts here, and I believe members are smart enough not to hire him but if they do then they are hiring him at their own risk.
4864  Other / Politics & Society / Trump and Protestors something doesn’t feel right!. on: January 13, 2020, 01:35:46 PM
The media has stopped writing about Hong Kong protestors but if you’ll remember those protestors called on Trump for aid, they even waved US flags to further annoy China and now quickly let’s come to Iran once again there’re protests going on and Trump has openly hinted he’s standing behind them. If you start seeing the bigger picture out here it looks like Trump is instigating those protestors, and I know now I’m sounding like a conspiracy theorist but connect the dots both China and Iran had problems with US and both the countries witnessed protests happening in their respective countries.

So now I’ll leave it for the experts to answer these questions:

1) Did Trump intentionally instigate those protestors so he would get both of these countries to sign deals with him. (As we will discuss China will already be signing phase one deal with US).

2) Did he plan this in advance considering he’s feeling threatened by the impeachment probe, and believed he would need these deals to convince voters to re-elect him as their President.

4865  Economy / Gambling / Re: ➫ ➬ ➫ ➬ LUCKYB.IT ★★★ The legend is back! ★★★ Bigger and better than ever! ★★★ on: January 13, 2020, 10:04:21 AM
Oh come on, classic lb had a minimum bet that was outrageous at times, but for plinko the current min bet is really acceptable.

Agreed, 1k sat as the minimum bet is acceptable although there still some gamblers who thinks that it is still a bit higher because there are some sites allows to bet 1 satoshi. Reducing the 1k sat to lets say 100 sat would be nice imho so it can attract more gamblers especially gamblers who do not have much money.

Luckybit has a chat lotto who gives prizes up to 500 satoshis, that's why I think 1k satoshis as min bet is fair enough. The chat lotto is an extra for the people who don't have much money but want to have fun.

Another nice feature are the free bets better know as bonus bets. And a lucky user already hit x24 with his free bet  Grin

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with 1k Satoshis as the minimum bet amount because this way LB is attracting customers that have decent funds at their disposal, and they will continue to play for long if they like the site hence this is a good strategy from their point of view. @seoincorporation thanks for pointing out about their chat lotto now all those who need to test it can earn for free and test it, also I’ll soon check on this and try report back about my experience on their site.
4866  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Main Club Partner of Watford FC ⚽ Fun. 🏀 Fast. 🎾 Fair. 🏆 on: January 13, 2020, 07:44:28 AM
A much needed win for Watford and they are really looking good now especially in their last 5 matches (4-0-1). As per Nigel Pearson, "Watford did what they needed to beat Bournemouth."  Cool
I can see it that Wolves, Bournemouth and Aston Villa has been defeated by them but for next match on premier league will be difficult for them because according to Watford schedule then next week they will playing as host team Against Tottenham but i think as Tottenham the favourite in this match then sportsbet.io will provide high odds for Watford and it's not wrong to bets for them instead of Tottenham because i think both of them have equal chance to win the match

Watford has indeed performed very well in the last few matches, and if they continue performing like this then they can definitely avoid the relegation zone. @bering while Tottenham will be favoured by all but let’s not forget they don’t have Harry Kane playing upfront for them, and that’ll mean less attacking football from Tottenham which I’m sure Watford can look to exploit. Furthermore Tottenhams own fans are turning up against Mourinho because of his defensive style which will mean Tottenham players will be under pressure to perform, and all Watford players will need to do is pounce on their mistakes and score and win the match.

4867  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 67,1% of micro businesses do not know what cryptocurrencies are. on: January 13, 2020, 04:24:19 AM
In Mexico, the UENI research firm conducted a study, in a field composed of 1287 Mexican microentrepreneurs, that is: supermarkets, restaurants, clothing sales, accessories, among others. In which it was concluded that 67.1% of respondents were unaware of the world of cryptocurrencies. The remaining 32.9% who said they knew the concept of cryptocurrencies, were asked another question, in which they were asked, if they would be willing to accept cryptocurrencies as a method of payment? and the result was that 50.4% of respondents he said no .

https://www.criptonoticias.com/negocios/67pc-pequenas-empresas-mexico-desconoce-bitcoin-criptomonedas/

What you think?
-Why does the population know cryptocurrencies?
-What would happen if at least 67.1% of microenterprises accepted Bitcoin as payment methods?
-Could it be that there are more countries like Mexico in which the population does not know or fear this new technology?

Well it’s difficult to answer the first question because I’m not residing in Mexico, hence I’m not aware why the locals haven’t shown any interest in bitcoins or any crypto for that matter.

The second question I believe you’re referring to is why the 32.9% knows about bitcoins, I believe the answer is that they’re the tech savvy population and that’s why they know about it.

As for your third question no one really knows whether we will see a major growth in prices, or will the prices remain neutral because of the sudden adoption.

The answer to your fourth question can be found by a simple google search, and I feel you should use google for it and if you find interesting statistics do share here.
4868  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: January 12, 2020, 02:06:00 PM
^^ Oh boy just checked the scoreboard after reading few comments and it was really nail biting match. my bad i missed it, Where are you watching this live? i might check out last match or may be T-20 series.

I watch all the matches live or at least watch the full highlights. Ireland was very close to a win but West Indies managed to win by just 1 Wicket.
The Last ball was hit for a six making WI cross the line. It was a nail bitter thriller.

Alzarri Joseph was well deserved Man of the match.

Ireland once again proved that they are the ultimate chokers of world cricket. I was watching the match live on YouTube (WICB made the live streaming available for free). They needed 5 runs from the last overs, with just one wicket remaining. Hayden Walsh and Sheldon Cottrell were batting and Mark Adair was given the bowling responsibility.

All Ireland had to do was to keep Cottrell on strike. He was struggling to give strike to Walsh and Adair missed two simple chances to run him out. If Irish players perform like this, then I don't think they will remain in international scene much longer. All Adair had to do was to collect the ball and strike the stumps (batsman was miles away in both the cases). He missed, in both the cases.

They are not playing a lot of international cricket and that might be one of the reason they missed out on this simple opportunity. This what is called lack of international cricket exposure and experience.

On a serious note Ireland should be given more international cricket exposure and only ICC can schedule more matches for this country. They have a lot of talents and they prove this whenever they are allowed to play against big teams. If they are not given the exposure, they will only remain an underdog team.

It also depends on Irish cricket board, they should negotiate with ICC and other boards for the team to participate in tri series or single series tournaments happening around the globe. Blaming ICC won' t help.

Why will ICC allow them to play more matches think realistically guys, ICC is only interested in making money and advertisers won’t pay top dollars for Ireland matches hence I don’t expect Ireland to play lots of international cricket matches anytime soon.

However if Ireland board is smart enough then they can send their top players in T20 leagues and focus on helping their players become global stars once this happens ICC will automatically schedule more international matches for them.

Also I feel the criticism directed at Ireland players is a bit harsh, because you’ll need to understand that they were never pros in this sport and it’ll take them quite a while before they can offer some serious competition to their opponents.
4869  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber or Airbnb running on bitcoin on: January 12, 2020, 11:44:27 AM
I remember when both Uber or Airbnb each came out. You could save money using them. Now you can't.

Isn't there any good Uber or Airbnb type products that run on bitcoin?

I was thinking about long distance phone calls. A long time ago you had to pay for that. Then it gradually became free.

I'm surprised that we haven't seen that happen with Ride Sharing or even BnB's. Because think about it, both of those are pretty much commodities in society. By now they should be extremely cheap. They should be just a fraction of what is charged by Uber or Airbnb.

Especially with a ride share product. The driver could just pull over. Pick someone up, and then earn some bitcoin for driving them, to or at least close to their drop off point. But mainly compete heavily on price to disrupt the whole Uber or Airbnb sectors.

Like one day in the same way we say "remember when you had to pay for long distance".... instead people will be saying "remember when you had to pay for a Cab, wasn't that crazy?" I want this to happen somehow soon.  Shocked

What do you think?

@coinanc first of all both are different sectors and there’s no comparing these two different sectors, secondly long distance call became free because of the growth in internet, so how do you propose to make cab riding free and rental free homes at minimum charges without an organisation being there to control it.

While I do like the idea of paying in bitcoin and at half the rates from current prices, but can you guarantee me that I’ll get the same kind of safety when these organisations are no longer providing these services.

What will happen when you get scammed by those drivers who take your money and refuse to drive, or those owners who provide you rooms that didn’t match the description whom will you complain too?.

I hope you do understand my point that we’re not only paying for the luxury, but also for our peace of mind that we will not get scammed and that we will get what is advertised by Uber and Airbnb.

I'm not a fan of the lottery as in 4 years I haven't won anything however if people like to play the lottery they could first build up their sats to 30k+ and then earn the daily interest and use that to buy lottery tickets each day. It will take some time if you are starting for free but if you deposit say a few hundred thousand sats you can then buy anywhere from 50 - 100 tickets daily from the interest earned while you don't need to spend the free claims that you earn and as that builds so will the daily interest.

@vella85 till date even I haven’t won anything from their lottery, and hence I have stopped collecting their lottery tickets instead now I collect more reward points (I have disabled lottery tickets if anyone wishes to do the same). Though there’re times where I see people win their lottery with very few tickets, and I often get tempted to give it a try and accordingly I have decided to collect more Satoshis this year and buy their lottery tickets and test my luck on Freebitco once again.

I honestly never heard of Archie Karas before today at all, just checked who he is and what he did and what that person achieved was insane, honestly I have never seen or heard anyone go that big from that small then back to small again so frequently, the amount of money we are talking about here could literally help 40-50 people to have a luxurious life in my nation and never have to work again in their entire life, hell you can pay about 17 thousand peoples debts with it, and what did the dude do? Just gambled it more.

I have seen people wager like 50 bitcoins here but that looks like it is basically nothing at all compared to what this Archie guy did, that looks like it is not even at the same level as him. It is more like betting 50 bitcoin bets on primedice back to back many times.

Just check the history of this guy as he was poor guy who later worked in  Los Angeles restaurant. He ran away from home at the small age of 15. He was extremely lucky to gamble and won upto $2,000,000  Roll Eyes. Wasn't that amount enough for him ? Why he did took more risk and lost all of his earnings  Huh

@bitgolden I’ll second that as this is the first time I’m hearing about this Archie guy, and we all should learn from his story because it teaches us important lessons regarding when to stop gambling especially if you have won lots of money. @BitcoinsGreat I know it’s very easy to judge him but remember we gamblers are greedy, and very few of us are strong willed to back down when we win a fortune hence I don’t blame him for what he did.

Leicester suffered a bitter defeat at the King Power Stadium with a dramatic score of 1-2 Southampton.
Although the Leicester player's header had entered the goal of Southampton but was not authorized by VAR because offsite was really unlucky for Leicester.

There's no need to make this big. Leicester will win again. It's just a bad accident, they can win again next week.

Leicester had an unlucky day and it seems Var is causing lots of trouble for all the teams, and I wonder if Var will be used next season because none of the teams wants to use it. Manchester United won today though they played well, but we need a quality midfielder asap and in my opinion Ole needs to pick Greenwood more often in the starting lineup. Another thing that I have observed is whenever Williams plays for Manchester United they look more strong from the left hand side, and I won’t be surprised if he replaces Shaw from the starting lineup in coming months.

This week was a bit difficult because there were plenty of people I wasn't sure if they will play or not. Considering we have no clue who will play or not let me tell you what I think could happen.

I picked Mousset from Sheffield to score, obviously Aubameyang from Arsenal, Lewin from Everton, Abraham from Chelsea, Jimenez from Wolves (if he plays this is like a guarantee at this point), wasn't sure about mane or salah because I know they were at CAF award ceremony but if they are both here you can pick either, I went with Salah, if both are missing and anyone knows about it, Firminho is a good option. Of course on Watford I picked our boy from France, Sarr. None of these have been checked on "is he suspended, is he injured, will he play" parts of it, maybe they won't play, but these are high odds if they all play.

I have picked Rashford as usual and I’m expecting him to score tonight, and I have selected Ali to score in the Tottenham vs Liverpool match though it was a very tough decision but in the end I went with my gut feeling. @RealMalatesta even I have selected Aubameyang ans Abraham as these two are in fine form and they should score for their respective teams.
4874  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: January 11, 2020, 10:25:47 AM
First of all, the ICC needs to admit that the popularity of test cricket is waning and the TV audience for this format is declining. The solution is not to dilute the format, but to reduce the number of test matches. As of now, a typical international side takes part in 8 to 10 test matches per year. The ICC can reduce it to 3-4 matches per year. If the number of matches are low, then I hope that more fans will turn up for the matches. Majority of the fans want more T20 matches, and I don't think that the ICC can ignore their demands.

@Sithara007 ICC will never admit that because they’ll not risk loosing their current advertisers so now they are trying to come up with radical approach by reducing the format, however this decision of theirs is already facing lots of backlash hence I hope they don’t go ahead with it. Another option I can suggest is that ICC should promote more test matches between top teams like Australia, England, and India or arrange more test matches between India and Pakistan as that shall help them revive this format.

4875  Other / Politics & Society / Re: One Million Trees on: January 11, 2020, 05:30:36 AM
Here in NYC there's an initiative of planting one million trees. And I'm all for planting more trees, but not just for the sake of it, and for the celebrity behind it to feel good about herself. If a home owner plants a tree there's a lot of planning involved. They analyze the perfect spot, how it matches the surrounding, if it's needed, etc. But in this situation it just plant one million trees for the heck of it. Cut a square, throw a bunch of dirt, the spot doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if it's in front of a stoop creating multiple bottlenecks in a busy block. The dirt gets all over, and half of the trees die anyway.

It really shows that human nature of not really thinking about your surrounding. In this case instead of causing pollution it's trees.

Random example, though not the best because if not a busy sidewalk.

https://www.google.com/maps/@40.6757113,-73.9857819,3a,75y,242.04h,83.79t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1suHVYMwoyioFEW5PQqyvkfw!2e0!7i16384!8i8192

The problem with these kind of initiatives is that they’re only done to please people in the short term, but no one really thinks of the long term consequences. In my personal opinion people should just not plant trees, instead they should create a community which can plan where it’s most suitable to plant them, who will take care of the trees and once they have answers to these questions then they should go ahead and plant trees.

If you converted USD 10 million it does not take 2 years to implement the accounced features!

You behave like the betking.io scam!

If I've understood correctly, features have mostly been delayed because it hasn't made sense to deploy them on the old, outdated site.

Hope that they choose the right path & strategy. Hire a decent team of developers and effectively manage them is another critical task as well as he will not get  a good developer if salary paid is not at least 80k / year (might need to be over 100k to attract tallents for small sized company) for a labor market like US, if he's based in UK the price tag might be around that number or if he managed to hire employees from other cheaper labor countries such as China, India or Viet Nam the salary might decrease but will not less than 2000 USD a month (24k / year) and probably won't work out since he will need a physical office setup there.

That's the plan but I believe the issue is that finding devs who stick around is difficult. It's easy to find those who switch companies at every chance.

The key issue is the expertise level of the owner himself, if the owner can't control his team then the project won't work out with any progress (like he has no idea of what his project team leader talking about), hope that he is not just a tech savy (which know/have some knowledge of programming but not expert on it) but i really doubt since "features have mostly been delayed because it hasn't made sense to deploy them on the old, outdated site" show that it was a poorly designed framework/platform that lac"k of feasibility and extensibility. Trust me, I've worked for a software development company, which the boss know sale but know none of the technical, and it declining time by time because no progress is made but most of the time is for argument between the team and the boss on technical things.

@docthusinh I believe Alex and his team are smart enough to handle this project, because if they weren’t then they would have added those features on the old site and then they would have witnessed it becoming a disaster. As @BoXXoB has clearly hinted work is underway for a new revamped site and hopefully we’ll see it soon, but in the meantime let’s all be patient and support the team because I’m sure we all will be amazed once the site is completely redesigned.

I think nor Tottenham and no other Premier League team is capable of stopping Liverpool if Liverpool plays full power.Liverpool is consolidated as it has more than one year without losing a single game while Tottenham has its ups and downs and are not a stable team.Possible result 1-2 ? Yeah most probably but I think 1-4 or 1-5 better.

@swogerino while I’ll agree with your analysis that Liverpool have been unstoppable for quiet a while now, but let’s not forget that they’re going to be playing against a defensive Mourinho's team that will just sit back and defend a lot hence I don’t expect Liverpool to win the match easily. The end result could be a draw too or even 1 - 0 where Tottenham wins it because Mourinho will deploy a similar strategy that Ole had used against Liverpool i.e. sit back deep and attack them on the counter.

Doesn’t seem possible now. Price of bitcoin is coming back slowly. Lets hope for some another big event,  not a war between countries but something like Chinese president giving a pro blockchain statement. Only that’s the possible way now for bitcoin to go upto 9k$.

Didn't the chinese president gave his positive statement about blockchain already and infact he's showing support and interested in it while they are on their way of making their very own token. Btc price is bound to break boundaries year by year. What we really need is the massive buying of crypto assets in the market so that the market capitalization will also increase.

As far as I know there’s no big event currently happening so bitcoin prices won’t see a major upward movement in January, however I do hope we see more bull rallies going ahead in 2020. @Fatunad yes the Chinese president did say positive words relating to blockchain, but Bank of China spilled water on it and ended any short term hopes the market had from China relating to adoption of bitcoin.

Well I'm not surprised though, we all know that his prediction is really out of this world. And he just did it to attract attention. So obviously, the price won't even breaks the 6 digit mark. And we know that this is not the last time that John will make such bold predictions or make preposterous in crypto sphere.
I think everyone would love to see a $1,000,000 bitcoin price in hopes of remaining optimistic, but at this time it seems like an impossible feat. Bitcoin has seem to have stagnated and has plateaued around $7500 or so. I don't know if we are in a bull or bear market any more, but i hope for the year of 2020 we have some clearer oversight as far as regulation is concerned. It is good to have big supporters like McAfee it shows that the space isn't limited to just members of the community but big name celebrities as well.

@btc_angela why am I not surprised that Mcafee is finally backing down now, though I was expecting him to back out of his bitcoin price prediction last year only. @chaoscoinz this year I’m anticipating a major bull rally because of the halving event, but if the halving event doesn’t live up to it’s expectations then bitcoins prices shall remain range bound between $6500 - $8000.

Football manager Mino Raiola has a new client. It's Jesse Lingard. Now we will see his skills, and how he sells the player with zero goals and zero assists in 2019.  Cheesy

He is just going to sell him in a medium class team that is in big need of buying a player in the position that Lingard plays.
And the easy part would be to sell him. The difficult one will be to sell him high.

whatever. I'm glad that he's looking for a new club, I can't watch them on Manchester United. I know he's a kid of the club but it makes me very nervous when he is on the field.
The best thing which Ole doing is resolving some critical players and his contract. Sanchez, Lukaku, Smalling, Yang, Lingard... it's a good step and more space for new potential players

Totally agree. After those seasons that United is not performing well I have realized that there is a problem with the players in the team.
Especially, Sanchez should not be a disciplined player and maybe he is followed by some others such as Smalling or Lingard and they are only causing problems in the team.

The problem is because of the "stars", young players like, Rashford, Greenwood, Martial, who often get a chance not to play for the club with their heart and not look at the result, but to show their personal quality.
A club with such players cannot function, although they are great talents and good players.
When there are many such "stars," one does not respect each other.
And imagine what happens to the team then.

It’s finally happening that Lingard is leaving the club and he should have been sold long ago, but somehow he managed to survive till now and that’s an achievement he can live with. In another transfer news Manchester United had offered a contract to Young for him to stay, but he rejected it and with this another flop player out of my favourite club. Last but not the least we should also sell Jones, and bring back Smalling who’s impressed me with his performance while playing in the Italian League.
