4861  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether USD, BIG SCAM OR JUST A FUD. on: October 21, 2018, 06:08:07 PM
There have been rumors about this scam usdt for a long time. I think if this happens then bitcoin will grow by 20-30%. Now there are analogues of usdt, but that no one trusts them.

We don't know if people will escape from USDT to Bitcoin. They can buy any other cryptocurrency or buy back USD and send it back to a bank. Also, Bitfinex itself won't be able to make the market price go up by 20% because of arbitrage. When people see 10% premium they will start buying on other exchanges and selling on bitfinex.
4862  Economy / Economics / Re: If you had 10000$ on: October 21, 2018, 05:42:09 PM
if i had 10 000 dollars i will use it like that for  investment;
% 20 for Bitcoin
%20 for ETH
%10 ZRX
%10 LTC
%10 NEO
%10 ADA
%10 XLM
%10 XRP
I hope my investment will bring to me about 200 000 dollars for 2 years later.

That's a really bad way to distribute. 10% in dead coins like LTC, 10% in centralized scams (XRP), the same amount in BTC and ETH when these coins aren't even on the same level. It will bring you 200000 in 2 years if BTC moons. If not the rest will be worth even less than it is now.

If I had that amount I'd put it all in Bitcoin. If Bitcoin doesn't succeed you can forget that altcoins that depend on it to do any better.
4863  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to the Bitcoin Blockchain if a Extreme Solar Storm hits Earth? on: October 21, 2018, 05:36:59 PM
With the premise that every single Computer turned off.

I guess that we'd have to turn them back on again. What happens when a server room goes out in case of a power outage? Diesels and UPS backups kick in. Some server rooms are located underground, some are in bunkers, some are in Faraday cages. You can't damage all computers on Earth at the same time. You'd have to destroy Earth itself to do it.
4864  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Make running a full node easier for a noob. on: October 21, 2018, 05:27:59 PM
do you mean a kind of trading robot? if so, you can see various software sold on this forum including trading bots that can carry out tasks that you ordered without having to spend hours in front of the monitor
He's talking about a full node. Don't you know what that is? It's one the most basic thing you learn when you read about Bitcoin!

There's no way to speed things up. Some time ago people were downloading torrents but time to get blockchain via torrent is very similar to the time Core will need. The only shortcut would be to find someone who has their Core updated, go to him with your hard drive and copy it.
Be prepared to wait 2 weeks if you're starting from scratch.
4865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether USD, BIG SCAM OR JUST A FUD. on: October 21, 2018, 05:01:09 PM
It may not be a scam but there's something wrong with it. Why wouldn't they agree to an audit if they knew there are rumors and Tether is losing value? I can think of two obvious reasons, maybe you can find more.
Reason one: they know they are insolvent and an audit would uncover that.
Reason two: they know they are solvent and are using this panic to bring the price down and allow insiders to buy cheap.
4866  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-20] Bitcoin Volume Nears Annual Low Again as Crypto Market Loses Over $ on: October 21, 2018, 03:35:41 PM
It's a normal thing for market consolidation. Open any consolidation chart and look at the volume. There's always a period when the market slows down and gets ready to spring back up. It can take weeks but it can also take years.

Doesn't Bitcoin chart look a bit like this one? Look at the volume in July and August. It was declining to finally start waking up in September. Bitcoin is at the same spot, but consolidation doesn't have to end with a bullish breakout. It can also be bearish and lead to a lower low.
4867  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Dumb Question - Wallet on: October 21, 2018, 03:27:26 PM
i see, any recommended ?

currently using edge, but does not have desktop version , looking for a wallet that support both platform and safe.  not recommended hardware wallet , as i use btc daily basic .

Here's what I suggest you'd do. Purchase a hardware wallet(cold wallet) for majority of your funds, and download a mobile/desktop wallet(hot wallet) mainly for spending. Keep majority of your funds on the cold wallet, and just send some funds every few days or so over to your hot wallet so you have BTC for easy spending. This way, you minimize the risk of potentially losing your funds.

Hardware wallets: Ledger Nano S, Trezor | I suggest only purchasing them from their official websites
Software wallets: You said you use BTC daily so I suggest Electrum for desktop, Samourai for Android, and probably BRD for iOS.

You're suggesting a hardware wallet to him without even knowing how much money he's holding. If you have $500 in cryptocurrency, spending $100 on a ledger doesn't really make sense. I think that your wallet shouldn't cost more than 10% of your coins to be worth it. There are pretty good software solutions for people who are not holding a lot.
I had a mobile version of electrum for many months and it's very fast, easy to use and secure. You may not agree but smartphone applications that include features like a QR scanner are much more user friendly than those little hardware wallets with micro displays, and they don't cost you anything.
4868  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Nowadays, even ordinary laptops can mine bitcoins. on: October 21, 2018, 03:17:46 PM
if I read the news circulating. that laptops can also be used for Mining. but I still haven't tried it bro. because I have since invested in the world of bitcoin never been mining. still trading focus bro

Good for you. Don't do it because worst case you'll be breaking your laptop for no reason. The money is not worth your time and trouble. You'll be risking a computer that can be worth $1000 to possibly get $50 in cryptocurrency after months of looking after it. Mining isn't a self sustaining process. You need to be around and monitor everything because if you happen to lose connection the computer will be on and wasting energy for nothing.
4869  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it safe enough to buy bitcoins online ? on: October 21, 2018, 03:08:23 PM
While we're all for free press, it's worth realizing that Bittrust is an uncensored, anonymous feedback service that allows for all kinds of creative misrepresentations - whether it's to pad your own company's ranking or smear its competition. As an anecdote to this, while they have much to improve, it should be clear that Coinbase is no scam - and yet, there are countless Bittrust reviews claiming just that. Without a credible source, there is limited credibility (which, as a side note, is also why we're replying officially as Coinmama).

Regarding the matter at hand, Frodoe was able to provide identification and we can see that not only did we answer all emails we received (most within minutes), but can confirm that the money in question is currently being held by their bank, and will eventually be freed. Once resolved, I hope Frodoe will provide their perspective.

What you're saying is different from what your client is saying. According to him the money disappeared from the account. If the bank was holding the money the funds would remain locked on his account and show as pending. One of you two must be mistaken and I sincerely hope it's him.

Did someone recommend this exchange to you, frodoe7? It isn't even in the top 100 by coinmarketcap which says a lot about its popularity and volume. If you don't get your money back, be sure to leave a negative feedback wherever you can so that more people won't fall for this.

4870  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IS HOLDING TRULY THE SOLUTION TO DROP OF BTC PRICE? on: October 21, 2018, 02:06:34 PM
I personally do not understand about the up and down of bitcoin price, I read some articles that mostly say the price of bitcoin is influence by the holders itself, it means that the holder of bitcoin has crucial role about the market price. However, it has been for about a year the price movement of bitcoin tends to stay on that price, there is no significant of change of its price. Does it mean all holders are keeping safe bitcoin on their wallet?
I can't imagine if all holder are holding their coins, it must be so high the price of bitcoin.

I don't agree. Where did you read that holders are influencing the market? If you're a holder you're out of the market. You're not selling at all and you're ready to wait a long time before the price is satisfying enough. It's the traders that influence the market. They are the people behind all the pumps and dumps, not the holders.
4871  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who/what will fuel the next bull run? on: October 20, 2018, 09:42:17 PM

Nice picture, but to be fair, gold had already broken resistance and entered a bull market before the ETF was approved. Maybe the ETF added some hype to the market, but that rally was coming either way, whether an ETF was approved or not.

So it's really a matter of timing and market cycles. If a Bitcoin ETF were approved when futures were launched last year, I think price still would have crashed.

It did, but Bitcoin did break its resistance line on the 10th and then once again when we had this huge tether dump. If we don't count ETF in both cases it will mean that Bitcoin bull market is just around the corner anyway and ETF will only add more hype to it. You have to agree that both charts look very similar.
4872  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better in poker: bluffing or playing only with good cards? on: October 20, 2018, 09:28:20 PM
Big difference between playing vs house and actual players online and the nature of those players, timeframe and duration they have been at the table and all sorts of factors.   Big or longer term players will get to know each other and recognise each others plays.    I think bluffing is part of all human interactions personally, gambling can teach you alot about people :p

Playing against other players is the essence of poker. It's what makes the games much more than just putting your cards on the table. After a while you learn other people's moves, if they will bet with weaker cards or bluff, or if they're more cautious and calculating players. It's another side of the game unknown to those who play online against the house.
4873  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Video] How do Casinos make money? on: October 20, 2018, 09:03:08 PM
This reminds me of the way strip clubs operate. You might think that getting a lap dance is the most expensive thing and that clubs mainly make money from that and the tips, but no. People are focused on how much a dance costs more than on the price of the drinks and drinks are what makes it profitable for the club. They're at least 3 times more expensive than in a pub. Gamblers focus on the game they come to play, like roulette, but while they walk around they casually spend a while at a slot machine, order a few drinks, and don't even remember doing it because they came for roulette and that's all they think about all evening.
4874  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-10-19] Biggest Bank in Nordic Region Bans Bitcoin, Gets Caught for Money on: October 20, 2018, 05:20:46 PM
Because that's what they're doing every day. Sometimes they get caught and sometimes not. They see Bitcoin as an even better and more anonymous way to launder money which means that Bitcoin is a competition. They earn large fees on these operations and wouldn't want people to be able to do it on their own.
All banks are dirty but that's only because people are dirty. We want to do things off the books and where there's demand someone always pops up with a supply.
4875  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do you go to buy bitcoins? on: October 20, 2018, 05:15:16 PM
I go to a physical exchange because I feel like it's the safest way to buy and sell coins. It works similar to a bank. You give them cash and a QR code and they send you coins. You wait a few minutes for a confirmation and it's done. You get a totally anonymous transaction and don't risk that your account will get hacked or that somebody will try to scam you. In a physical exchange it's impossible.
4876  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Most bitcoins trader are liers and bragg, Are you one of them? on: October 20, 2018, 05:11:10 PM
I've always been truthful about my gains and investments. I know I was late for the party and I didn't make a lot of money like some people who came in 2012 or 2013 but I did it before the 2017 bubble and got enough to feel satisfied and safe. My initial investment is back in cash. I took a small profit and put some gains back into Bitcoin. Now whatever happens I'll be at peace Smiley
4877  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto capable of making the world go digital? on: October 20, 2018, 04:57:57 PM
It is very sad to realize that not a large number of people believe in the blockchain and its future, although now there is an active introduction of this technology in all areas, and soon, people's thinking will change

It's always the same with new technologies. People don't like changes and they tend to stick with the known that works. Did you ever know an old person who used to drive the same car for 20 years? You show him a new model and he feels uncomfortable even though his old one didn't have half of the features the new one has. Cryptocurrencies are superior but it will take a lot of time before people get used to them.
4878  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] Bitplay.Club Signature Campaign | Hero/Legendary Members | $50/Week! on: October 20, 2018, 04:51:28 PM
Posting on a forum is work? lol.  What third world country are you from you piece of shit.

Are you really going to laugh at poor people who value every dollar? FYI in India, which is a pretty big country, people are usually earning less than $5 a day, sometimes much less than that, so $50 is enough money to start an argument. I don't know where he's from but there are many countries much poorer than India.

I'm not going to take a side in the argument between BALIK and Hhampuz, it's between them, but your posts in this thread are pointless. He had the right to argue just like the manager had the right not to pay him. Don't butt in if you don't have anything to say.

EDIT: I agree with 2 posters below me. Adding this to my old post so that this unnecessary conversation doesn't drag on forever.
4879  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true that 99% of all airdrops are shitcoins of bad projects ? on: October 20, 2018, 04:38:24 PM
I do not believe you would find 1 good airdrop from 100.

You may be lucky to find 1 good airdrop from 10 000

You may also make better use of your time by enjoying your life instead of putting yourselves through all the hopes and shattered dreams.

POW is the only way to distribute tokens/coins

Last year there was a number of airdrops and forks that you could make money from. All Bitcoin forks were worth something. If you had 10 BTC you were making at between $100 and $1000 every time if you only remembered to cash out the new fork. Airdrops were also pretty nice. Stellar lumens were a pretty valuable coins, bytes as well. Then there was yobit coin that also was worth some money.
4880  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BAKKT big deal? on: October 19, 2018, 09:42:43 PM
What is the big issue with BAKKT? Since those big players that want to buy already owns bitcoin.
Over time, the number of places where you can cash out a lot of different cryptocurrencies will only grow. The collapse will be for sure, but the number of suckers on the planet seems to be very large, so who knows how soon.

I'm wondering where are you trolls coming from. If you're so negative about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies maybe you should allocate your precious time elsewhere.

Yes, Bakkt is a big deal. Not all big players who want more coins already own some. Many people are still waiting for a more regulated market with some Wall Street giants stabilizing it. It's also aimed at making cryptocurrencies easy and accessible.
