4882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥[GUNBOT] Automatic Poloniex Profit Generator🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 on: November 04, 2017, 10:03:58 PM
I heard about gunbot from a friend. I googled it, read a bit, and immediately ordered.

The problem is, cryptobot was the first to come up in google... even after reading the first 20 pages of this thread, I still didn't know what I know now, which is that they are not a legit source?

I have already sent my .1 BTC and received my license from the site. What should I do? I am bummed that I went through a purveyor not recommended by gunther and co.
If your licence is activated (which would normally cost you 0.09 BTC with a referral code), then things are *fine*.

4884  Economy / Reputation / Re: yet negative feedback on: November 04, 2017, 08:08:31 PM
no matter how positive they get, it can not move the LAUDA negative
Did you just indirectly admit to trading in order to farm up trust?

I sent a message to LAUDA but he does not want to move it though he saw I was honest
There is nothing honest about buying someone else's account.

You're best to create your own account and build up your own reputation and history rather than trying to jump the cue by purchasing an account.
This.
4885  Other / Meta / Re: My account was hacked on: November 04, 2017, 08:05:04 PM
So how can I close the old account in order to use the newone ?
You can not.
4886  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forums usage is Exploding on: November 04, 2017, 08:02:09 PM
Don't be naive, all of us here to earn money.
False generalization fallacy. I wouldn't expect something better from the likes of you. Roll Eyes

The forum won't be so successful if comments would not be paid.
Success? What's the benefit of this success other than enriching theymos? This forum has literally outweighed the good with the damage that it causes, and has become a negative piece in the Bitcoin ecosystem.

I bet you are here for the same reason, but not only cause of you love to argue and prove your truth.
Speculative, and a rather insulting, claim.

Yes your English is great, but it's not your native,
What my native language is, is not of your concern.

so don't think that those people who speak English not so well are fools and don't deserve to be on the forum.
You do not.

....
The rest of your posts consists of rehashed content.
Update: I've just checked the SMAS list and you're on it. Therefore, your post does not surprise me at all.
4887  Economy / Collectibles / Re: 2016 Titan Physical Bitcoins for sale - Silver and 24k Gold on: November 04, 2017, 07:58:28 PM
Hi - I'm interested in buying more - how to get in touch ? - since website emails don't seem to work ??
Thx,
A.H.
Create a [WTB] thread in this section. If you're lucky, and you offer an adequate amount of money, someone might sell theirs.
4888  Economy / Services / Re: WTF? Escrow Services Need A Serious Reboot! on: November 04, 2017, 07:49:53 PM
I saw one website list 3.25% Standard, 6.5% Concierge, for transactions up to $5000.
Our fees are therefore not unreasonable.

I knew a banker that only got 0.5% as escrow fee. But the transaction was about a billion USD. Friend of my father, who then used part of that money to buy an investor visa to another country.
I'd be fine with a 0.5% fee on a $1 Billion transaction too. Cheesy

I can do escrow for half the price.

I am here since 2013.
History of trading: Not found. History of escrow: Not found. Choosing you would be very wise. Roll Eyes

2) Shitposters from various 3rd world countries.
I'd love to see an instant automated ban for anyone who posts "I'm agree"*. It's a very easy way to filter many (Indonesian) shitposters.
Better masters of English could easily avoid that by switching to "I concur", which is my favorite. However, those shitposters aren't smart enough for that.

the forum is degenerating and is worse than most mainstream news outlets and their comment sections
All of this comes down to the very lucrative business of posting here. In a way I'm guilty too: my current signature is the most lucrative one I've ever had. But at least I try not to post crap.
At this point I don't even mind people who are posting to get paid given that: a) They have one account. b) They really put effort in their posts and this effort can be seen.[1]

[1] There are outright baboons that claim they put a lot of effort and end up producing posts that are 2-3 lines long most of the time. Some posts that I've personally put effort in, back in some hefty block size debates, have taken me 30-60 minutes to write and have contained over 500 words.
OP is another example of someone just spreading BS around here. I was hoping he'd have some standard AD in his signature as then his intentions would be obvious.
4890  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forking Coin and Bitcoin on: November 04, 2017, 04:50:54 PM
That is up for the users to decide.
No, it is not.

Generally, forking is just creating another copy of the original source code but with added codes and features, nothing more. Some improvements from the previous, original versions are found in the new code that the developer of the fork "believes" that should be added in the main coin. The users then (but more specifically, the miners who control the hash power) decide which coin would they use and they prefer. The original coin may die, but in most cases, the fork often loses support after it has been pumped hard and dies ultimately.

That's how I view forks now: money bags and disruption.
That is only correct if your intention is malicious. In cases of hard forks, the process is as follows: idea -> BIP (Bitcoin Improvement Proposal): a) If user consensus == true -> adoption and activation. b) If user consensus != true -> discard proposal. There is no new/old coin in a consensus based fork. If there is consensus, and if a rule change does happen via such a hard fork, then that chain is Bitcoin and no other.

Based on what I read once you have a bitcoin you will get the same amount of coin from the fork. Since you need to install a S2X compatible wallet do you need to transfer your bitcoin from your original wallet or will it just be the new coin? If transferring of bitcoin is needed to get the new coin once you got it can you you transfer your bitcoin back to your original wallet or both coins should stay on the new wallet?
I don't understand how people can't understand an abstraction of forking, which also makes me question their intellect and comprehension.
Bitcoin: Chain A --> date of fork --> Chain A
                                               --> Altcoin: Chain B.

If you had coins at the date of fork on chain A, you also have coins on chain B.
4891  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forking Coin and Bitcoin on: November 04, 2017, 01:53:27 PM
Do you have any suggestions of S2X compatible wallets?
No. Read what I have written:

However, due to lack of replay protection, I highly advise against trying to spend S2X coins as someone who isn't extremely tech savy. Otherwise, you're likely going to lose money.
4892  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Should I buy into the BTC Seg fork? on: November 04, 2017, 01:02:37 PM
Pretty sure the fork is taking place the 16th of Nov but hey I could be wrong. I was wondering if I should buy some reg bit coin now so when the split happens I get amount of btc in segx2
You can't buy that anywhere yet. You could try futures trading on Bitfinex, but that is also risky and you're likely going to get burned. A lot of exchanges and services do not want to have anything to do with S2X shitcoin given its malicious nature.
4893  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forums usage is Exploding on: November 04, 2017, 12:52:43 PM
if you want to have less scam posting there are many possible solutions, why dont you introduce just an ID sign up or some kind ID certifications for accounts, exchanges do this all the time, people could ignore.
i am not posting bullshit! i just show the great opportunities.
The irony in this statement is amazing.

The number of users is coming to 1 million already and I suppose withduch huge interest to crypto-currencies this number is going to be reached soon.
There are maybe 200k active accounts, and less than 100k real people. Keep drinking the kool-aid. Roll Eyes
4894  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forums usage is Exploding on: November 04, 2017, 12:42:43 PM
Can you stop posting mini walls of text, as they are full of bullshit with no actual meaning nor truth? Thanks. You are obviously neither qualified nor experienced enough to asses, evaluate and discuss the situation that this forum is in.
4895  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forums usage is Exploding on: November 04, 2017, 12:31:27 PM
There are a lot of newbie accounts but do we not give some of them the benefit of the doubt?
At this point you have to be either very ignorant or an absolute fool to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Obviously you can spot the shill / shit posters from a mile off but I think there will, genuinely be a lot of new people here now.
Aside from 3rd world shitposter, not really.

you are to pessimistic that is normal market activity, financial markets are this way,

you should rather see the opportunities.

if you standardise things, and make it better understandable, you could create an online financial hub

regards
Absolutely wrong and bamboozled view of the situation. My statements are at worst a realistic depiction of the current situation (I'm a realist). If you want to put your head in the sand and hope that everything is warm and fuzzy around here, then go ahead.

This place has been a big clusterfuck for a very long time, and it most certainly has not been getting any better.
4896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: November 04, 2017, 12:28:12 PM
[-- snip --]
I've left the owner of this website a negative rating for his behavior. Someone should consider legal action as well.
Interestingly enough he has been online since I posted screenshots of his site advertising a literal, literal scam but has it changed?
Yes, I've given them a chance to respond to my concerns regarding the shady bitcoin.com website. However, they've failed to address them.

Good move with leaving him a negative feedback, but I think most users will not care..they will continue on with using the site.
The problems here are:
1) Lack of a superior alternative. Let's face it: This website isn't well built.
2) Network effect.

Once the first point is solved, with enough will power of the users and the market, the tides may change.

Spot on accurate.

Even the somewhat subtle changes they've added to the UI of the site recently leaves much to be desired. And unfortunately the competitors, if they can even be called that, like coincodex and worldcoinindex are even worse.
This is one of the cases where a free market is beneficial. Someone will make a superior website to this, it just takes time to find the right developers and to develop it. Most "developers" have no idea how to properly deploy big data. If/once I have more information about some development, I shall definitely notify people of this.

"YassinBTC" tried to scam me with the same strategy. He's not tagged yet so if lauda can tag him, that would be great.
Done.

Always check the smart contract address. See if it is legit or just a random token created out of nowhere.
Another downside of the shitcoin mETH that has no use cases other than ICOs and scammy contracts.

4898  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forums usage is Exploding on: November 04, 2017, 12:05:13 PM
There are two things that is exploding:
1) Hacked accounts and thus scams and all kinds of shady activity.
2) Shitposters from various 3rd world countries.

Other than that, the forum is degenerating and is worse than most mainstream news outlets and their comment sections. The numbers that you've pointed out are actually bad.
4899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bad Signature for the bitcoin-0.15.0.1 file on: November 04, 2017, 11:58:04 AM
Can you try doing the same for Bitcoin Core 0.14.0 and 0.15.0 just in order to see whether this issue is limited to your end or a specific version? I've sent Wladimir a message and don't have OSX myself to test on it.
I can test on OS X later today if needed. (After an outing with the kids)
Yes please. Post your results using the same command as OP for all three versions. This should help myself, Wladimir and anyone else looking into this.

Thanks.
4900  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forking Coin and Bitcoin on: November 04, 2017, 11:57:05 AM
When the bitcoin fork occurs in couple weeks will I get both “chains, forks, of bitcoin” in my wallet?
No and no. You will only have Bitcoin in your current wallet. You will need to install a S2X compatible wallet, and either transfer your wallet there or import private keys to be able to use the S2X altcoin. However, due to lack of replay protection, I highly advise against trying to spend S2X coins as someone who isn't extremely tech savy. Otherwise, you're likely going to lose money.

Does it matter where my bitcoin is held?
As long as you hold your money in a wallet that gives you full control of your keys, e.g. Bitcoin Core, Armory, Electrum.
