4881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]Middlecoin Checker Android App on: February 06, 2014, 08:22:59 AM
thanks very much! that's exactly what I wished for.
just a quick though: I'm not convinced of the forced landscape rotation of the screen; I'd like to switch orientation myself.
another couple of little ideas:

- add rejected share percentage
- get rid of amounts with exponent (e.g. 4.045E-4)
- add BTC/MH/s for the last hour or day

thanks again for the fine application!

Yeh some got gang banged and got less than the cost of electric.

I'll ask that we skip the rape references, thanks.

jesus christ, grow some balls.

this is the internet, stop acting like a pussy and getting touchy over ever little thing.

but - if we stopped those useless posts (like yours), we could save time and do other nice things.

There seems to be some bug today with the forum. There is a password window and I keep getting '401 authorization required'.

Looks like misconfigured http authentication.
May be a server problem or even some kind of fishing, so I'd be careful.
4884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POOL][MULTI] Hash.so multicoin pool with easy coin switching, 21 coins! on: February 05, 2014, 12:20:49 PM
Was wondering about your FTC pool. is it bugged or broke. I mined for 15+ minutes and nothing ever showed.

Unless you have a very high hashrate, it will take days to find a block.
Pool has 0 MH/s over a network hashrate of 8 GH/s...
4885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: February 05, 2014, 09:59:20 AM
part of my unexchanged was converted to balance just after payout for me, so pretty low yesterday but probably better today (still lot of unexchanged available).

We've been down this road before, and the last time someone brought it up, it was me making the very same assumption.  But now that I am on the other side, I remember why I don't usually participate in online forums...  Having a productive conversation can be like herding cats!  (For non-native English speakers, that's an idiomatic expression suggesting a fruitless effort spent on a near impossible task.)  As such, I will now bid you all adieu.  poolwaffle, please keep at it and do not let us all down.  I can assure you that your efforts are appreciated..

sorry if I didn't know that.
know what? forums are for getting knowledge.
did you know that? you seem to have had a similar experience as mine, so you should Smiley

Updated my watcher again now with email notification on MH/s drop. Check it out: http://vps.webbson.net/middlecoin

thanks for the update.
is it all client side? i.e. does it notify even if no browser is open on the page?

The last dogecoin block we found was indeed very small -- only 193,881 of a possible 1,000,000.

dogecoin   2014-02-04 03:44:24   8b67e7e8199c7faf046648f3cb7eed7c5b6b5efacd786cc1e39086c25f5777cf   193,881.10278679   valid

But that begs another question...  As it was pointed out earlier, the profitability algorithm knows the doge block reward in advance, so how did it ever determine that mining a block with such a low reward was the most profitable option at the time?

I was a bit curious about this as well. Why wouldn't we (or anyone) just mine the most rewarding block...or just discard less profitable ones?

Isn't the block reward of dogecoin random?

Special reward system: Random block rewards

1-100,000: 0-1,000,000 Dogecoin Reward

100,001 — 200,000: 0-500,000 Dogecoin Reward

200,001 — 300,000: 0-250,000 Dogecoin Reward

300,001 — 400,000: 0-125,000 Dogecoin Reward

400,001 — 500,000: 0-62,500 Dogecoin Reward

500,001 - 600,000: 0-31,250 Dogecoin Reward

600,000+ — 10,000 Reward (flat)

Conversion to euro and a graph (just the one from coingeek is fine) would me it perfect Smiley

Euro will be in the next release. I have yet to figure out how to best implement graphs. Where should I put it in the application? Smiley

you could add a graph button on the addresses, or add it just below.
simplest way is using a webview on the graph url.

Shitty payout today Sad
Besides the 12% REJECT that is troublesome, any idea why the site says I have 2.5MH when I have 4MH on it?, is a lot of difference!.

with a difficulty of 1024, the pool calculated hashrate will vary a lot over time.

The dashboard is out ?

I'm minig right now (my workers are connected) but i don't see them on the dashboard Wink

Happens to me as well, at times: just hold on, it'll refresh :-)

Had an idea that I thought Id shre. Its just short of your goal of full switching. I'd like to see a checkbox option on the pool switching form. That would allow for the pool to find a block and then switch instead of switching immediately. I just hate leaving that bit of 'wasted' mining over there without getting all the way to the goal.

I know it's not actually wasted, and you get credited for the shares and all, but if you're the only one on a pool that may hang out for quite a while. I get the feeling that on sites like multipool et al quite a lot of work is wasted when they switch. So this might be a good thing to implement before you get all the way to autoswitching as well.

Probabilistically speaking, there is no reason to switch when a block is found (a new one can be found a second later...), it's just a psychological matter ;-)

cool where do i get that from i use multibit wallet and how would i recover if hdd died with wallet.dat

With the standard client: just close it, replace the wallet.dat file, run it again and reset the blockchain.
I don't know about multibit and we are pretty offtopic anyway.
4895  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 29, 2014, 02:21:01 PM
whats the best way to back up your wallet Just the wallet.dat file ay?

Is there a way to update daily onto a USB or something else , I guess I can run a Batch file at a certain time daily which copies that new batch file and overwrites the new wallet.dat . On a USB, I am just scard my HDD just goes sudden death, Now that I actually have money I am VERY SCARED , yes paper wallet works but I am tlakaing about updating file daily since middlecoin pays daily I dont want to loose ANY money i made the previous day.

you don't need to update the wallet daily.
the only thing you really need is the private key, which if you don't change address, is the same since the day you created it.

we need more hash power on the doge pool!
variability is too high and we are waiting the block for almost a full day :-/
let's hope at least it has a good payout :-)

May I make a little feature request? In the mobile site, add difficulty and related coin info (maybe in the stats page), it's very useful when choosing which coin to mine (which can already be switched on the mobile version). Thanks!

started using your pool and I'm very satisfied!
now the auto switch feature will be killer (for the night or when I can't check it myself), hope you'll implement it soon :-)

I have compiled the qt client on Linux.
I wanted to report that I had to manually remove from the makefile:

It's about the pool software that the pool operator has put on those servers, that software is in beta.

I don't understand why he would put beta software on the other servers ? What would the reason be ? It would be nice if it could automatically redirect to the default server when issues arise.

I believe it's in beta stage because it contains additional procedures to run the pool on multiple sites.
It's called beta for a reason: if one doesn't want to experiment, he can just stick to the middlecoin.com main site.
